This is an exceptionally excellent family run B&B. Everything is excellent, but the best is the breakfast, which many, many 5* hotels would not be able to provide or match - the choices, the freshness of local ingredients, and excellent cooking by a master chef!

A very warm welcome from the hostess who really wanted to do absolutely everything to make it a great stay . The breakfast servings were very generous

La struttura si trova immersa nella natura, dalla camera si vede un bellissimo lago. La camera è pulitissima oltre che spaziosa e molto comoda sotto tutti i punti di vista. Il punto forte della struttura è sicuramente l’accoglienza di Pauline e la sua fantastica colazione, sicuramente la migliore di tutta la nostra vacanza.

This was just one night stay, but the experience was excellent. The room was perfectly clean with amazing view on the lake. The host was lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

The room was spacious and cozy. Breakfast was one of the bests we had on our trip with lots of locally sourced options. Everything was beautiful and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Wir konnten aus vier Menus auswählen. Die Zubereitung war sehr gut. Der Frühstücksraum ist ebenfalls sehr schön und gemütlich. Das Haus befindet sich in einer ruhigen Gegend. In knapp 10 Minuten ist man mit dem Auto in Belturbet, wo es Pubs und Restaurant hat.

A beautiful well presented b&b. Lovely hostess Pauline couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. . A great wee woman she is. The views of the countryside is just stunning. Very peaceful ✌️ comfy bed .Fresh crisp bedding. We had a great night's sleep. There was tea & coffee in the room,,tv and everything supplied in the bathroom for washing. The best breakfast hands down 😋, beautiful fresh fruit. and the cooked breakfast was amazing better than some hotels we have stayed at. A truly lovely stay . If you want a peaceful night and quiet surroundings you won't be disappointed Pauline & Samantha really gives you a warm welcome. Thankyou

The breakfast was wonderful! Also Pauline gave us some helpful advice concerning our sightseeing plans and she was very friendly with the kids. 🙏 🥰

The location is beautiful, as is Hawthorn lodge. We could not beieve the breakfast menu, we have never seen such a choice!!! The view from our bedroom window was stunning, even in the rain! Our hostess was lovely, and a wonderful scrambled egg cheff.

The thing we didnt like was that we were only there two nights, wished we could have stayed longer.

Spacious room, extra large bed & very comfortable. Room was very clean with excellent natural light and magnificent view down to lake. Fantastic B&B, and one of the nicest I've ever stayed in. Lovely and remote setting, looking over the lake. On arrival after a long and challenging journey, Pauline was busy offering sweets to the Rhymers, which I thought a very nice touch. I hadn't realized until then what day it was. Pauline went out of her way to welcome me and her hospitality was second to none. She, even offered me a delicious home-baked Halloween cupcake in a box when I left next morning (a touching first for me). Pauline is obviously very proud of Cavan, it's 365 lakes, and the freshness of its air, and it was so easy to see why when I stayed. Many songbirds were busy at the bird feeder, which brought back a fond memory of my late parents home which is farther north in Ireland. The room was one of the most comfortable and cozy places I have ever stayed in. I definitely appreciated the B&B's focus on sustainability. I believe it's won them an Ulster award. Sadly, I was only there the one night. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be coming back.

The B&B serves a variety of local produce as part of the substantial breakfast. Never before have I been offered so many options. I normally don't do black pudding, usually trying only one bite - but for the first time in my life I ate the entire serving as it was so delicious with big grains in.. There was also a special local soft cheese that sounded interesting. Maybe next time. Perhaps the dining room conservatory could benefit from a blind or curtain, to shield the breakfast guests from the glare of the morning sun.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hawthorn Lodge. Very comfortable, clean, quiet and food was excellent as always.

An excellent location to explore the countryside of Co. Cavan and further afield. Cavan Town is only a short distance away by car and offers a wide selection of food & beverage options. I was attending a sports event in Cavan Town and the Hawthorn Lodge was a great base. Also, an excellent start to each day with a brilliant breakfast every morning really helped.

Pauline was a lovely host. Fantastic comfortable clean room with a great view. Breakfast was amazing. Recommended.

The room was cold, there was no mention if we wanted heat on or not, no fan in bathroom and confusing notes up to say not to open Windows at night as flies would come in, so showering at night in the dark was the only option🤔

Eigentlich hat mir so gut wie alles gefallen. Es war eine herzliche Begrüßung von Pauline und die Umgebung war sehr idyllisch. Zusätzlich war das Bett wirklich sehr bequem. Beim Frühstück wurde sich wirklich sehr viel Mühe gegeben und es gab eine große Auswahl. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen und würde hier definitiv wieder herkommen, wenn ich wieder in der Gegend bin :)

Thanks to the hotel owners for their warm hospitality. After a day full of meetings , I was looking for a peaceful place to rest — and here I enjoyed a wonderful night’s sleep in complete silence. In the morning, a hearty full Irish breakfast in the dining room with beautiful lake views gave me the perfect start to the day.

Wow! Pauline was amazing. The room was great, the breakfast was awesome. My husband and I have never had a breakfast like it. So much choice and all freshly cooked. The quality of products was right up there, at the top. We had a beautiful view of a lake which changed as the sun and clouds moved. I was on crutches which made getting up the stairs a little difficult, but it was worth it. We would definitely go back. Thank you Pauline for a wonderful stay.

This is my absolute favourite stay I have had since moving to Ireland 5 yrs ago and we travel a lot around Ireland. Rooms were massive and spacious, well decorated, and serviced daily. They follow a no waste policy for bfast, so you order only what you want and the amount you want. Breakfasts were beyond amazing! Excellent food!!!! We did an extremely early bfast at 6h30 and were still served with a smile, delicious food and even packed lunches! Surrounding area has loads to explore, the local pub is within walking distance and the views are stunning!

The double bed was large for a change not small as in most places. Better than a hotel. Bedroom separate dressing room and a large ensuite. Would definitely recommend and would and plan on going back. Great pubs and places to eat in Belturbert only 10 min drive away
