Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Gentillesse et disponibilité de la dame de l'accueil qui nous a attendus au-delà de 20.30. Très attentionnée lors des petits déjeuners. Ceux-ci sont exceptionnels par la qualité et le cadre. Demeure très ancienne splendide avec décoration familiale intacte. Piscine de l'autre coté de la rue (mais ce n'est pas un problème), avec transats, coussins, vigne et glycine. Un petit paradis.
Le parking dans la rue fort en pente est mal aisé, mais nous avons garé en bas en face de l'église (il faut alors porter ses bagages par l'escalier). Notre grande chambre donnait juste en dessous de la pièce du petit déjeuner et nous étions donc éveillés un peu tôt.

Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Wat een prachtig landhuis. Heel bijzonder om de oude delen van het huis te zien en bijzonder dat deze zo goed bewaard zijn gebleven. De host is erg vriendelijk en laat met trots haar familie woning zien. De kamer was ruim en comfortabel. Het bed is fijn ruim. Leuk pluspunt is het zwembad aan de overkant van de straat met een mooie tuin erbij. Ook de pooltafel was een aangename verrassing. Het ontbijt is erg uitgebreid op de mooie bovenverdieping met prachtige uitzicht over Manteigas, en lief dat we iedere dag nieuwe koekjes op de kamer hadden. Manteigas is een leuke, knusse plaats om te bezoeken. Met name de wandeling langs de rivier die door het centrum loopt, kan ik aanbevelen. Ja bijzondere plek om te boeken!

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026Solar setecentista, magnífico e absolutamente bem conservado. Recepção bastante calorosa, com visita pelas áreas comuns e alguma história sobre a casa. Quartos com camas grandes e confortáveis. Pequeno-almoço em llindas salas, cheias de objectos pessoais, como se estivéssemos de visita. Zona da piscina bastante agradável e bem cuidada. Não tem estacionamento próprio mas é fácil arranjar lugar na rua. A rapariga que dá apoio era também muito simpática e prestável. Senti-me privilegiada por poder ter acesso a uma casa tão bonita.

A dona Amélia, a anfitriã, é uma querida e ajudou-nos imenso, viajamos com um bebé de 6 meses e ela foi incansável para nos ajudar, e por fim todas as pessoas que trabalham com a Amélia na casa são igualmente amáveis e trataram-nos super bem. Todo o servido é digno de um hotel de 5 estrelas, tudo muito organizado e bem pensado para o conforto dos hóspedes. E o pequeno-almoço é simplesmente maravilhoso. A Casa das Obras está no meu Top 3 lugares que já tive a oportunidade de estar.

Es hat einen wunderschönen Garten mit tollem Pool. Ein echtes Highlight ist auch das Frühstück - jeden Morgen eine neue fantastische Auswahl.

Schöner Garten mit Pool, den wir nach einem langen Tag zur Erfrischung auch genutzt haben. Wunderbares Frühstück mit lokalen Produkten!

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Fijne gastvrouw en goed zwembad midden in het dorpje. Het was een goede uitvalsbasis voor de omgeving. Hele bijzondere locatie om te overnachten, alsof je in een museum slaapt. Het pand stamt namelijk af uit de 17e eeuw en zo hebben ze het ook behouden.
Wij hebben het gevoel gehad dat het ‘s nachts nog wel eens spookte (krakende vloeren midden in de nacht etc.)

Reviewed Aug 5, 2026Unterkunft in einem ehrwürdigen alten Herrenhaus mit vielen originalen und schön restaurierten Räumen und Details. Sehr schöner Pool in gepflegtem Garten. Frühstück war gut. Nette Vermieterin. Parkplatz vor dem Haus, allerdings sehr steile Straße. Zentrale Lage.
Ein wenig störte uns, dass es nur löslichen Kaffee sowohl zum Frühstück, als auch im Zimmer gab. Zum Frühstück gab es immerhin noch 1 Kapsel pro Person für Espresso.

La literie était un peu bruyante et la tuyauterie de la salle de bain un peu défectueuse. Mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de passer un agréable séjour. Cela fait aussi partie du charme de cette ancienne et belle demeure.

Beim Bett in unserem Zimmer war die Rückwand lose, so dass sie bei jeder Bewegung an die Wand schlug - ein Paar Motorradhandschuhe dahinter geklemmt und gut war's. Und warum die Haustür nicht geschmiert wird, bleibt mir ein Rätsel ...

Un voyage dans le temps ( nous nous retrouvons dans un magnifique manoir du 16e siècle bien entretenue) avec un accès à une piscine et des salles de jeux (billard et échec) dans une environnement de rêve! En plus on nous fait visiter les lieux et l’hôte est au petit soins avec nous. J’allais oublier le fabuleux déjeuner dans une pièce digne des plus beaux musées. Bref, un gros wow!

Reviewed Jun 9, 2026Hele mooie klassieke accommodatie. Ontzettend vriendelijke gastvrouw ondanks dat ze slecht Engels sprak deed ze toch alles om je behulpzaam te zijn. Elke dag verse bloemen op de kamer. Tuin en zwembad geweldig evenals het uitgebreide ontbijt.
Voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn een hele opgave om van het dorp naar boven te geraken.

Met de auto rij je een smal steil straatje op en hellingproef parkeer je naast de casa die er van buiten en op t eerste gezicht niet indrukwekkend uitziet. Binnen is het net een museum, de tijd heeft werkelijk stilgestaan. Wij hadden een kamer op de eerste verdieping, brandschoon en alles piept en kraakt. Dat is even wennen, maar je mag niets anders verwachten in zo'n oud pand. Het ontbijt was meer dan geweldig en zeer uitgebreid. Om de hoek zit Lusopizza: super aanrader, heel klein zaakje met heerlijk eten, meer dan alleen pizza.
Het bedmatras is heerlijk, maar t bed kraakt enorm. Daar moet je tegen kunnen. Er is geen airco, ramen kunnen open voor frisse lucht maar dat betekent 6 uur gewekt door kerkklok, lekker vroeg op dus, maar dan pas om 8 uur ontbijt.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026Bon petit déjeuner et bel espace jardin près de la piscine. Belle maison avec plusieurs pièces mises à la disposition des invités (salon, bar, billard). Bons restos à distance de marche.
L’absence d’air climatisé mais heureusement ce n’était pas encore trop chaud)

Reviewed Jun 2, 2026Turismo de habitação excelente ! Realmente tudo impecável , me senti em um castelo medieval . Quarto enorme , cama maravilhosa, banho quente , não sentimos falta de nada . Pequeno almoço sensacional , curtimos cada cantinho da hospedagem que é uma grande obra de arte . Dona Amélia é uma simpatia , nós recebeu com muito carinho , deu todas as dicas para curtir a cidade .
O que não gostei foi ter que ir embora .

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026Amelia's hotel is an absolute gem. The hotel is a beautiful historic home with lots of character and several communal spaces for guests to use including a snooker room. Amelia even provides free hot drinks and cakes (self service) 24/7. The garden is so pretty and well maintained and the swimming pool is wonderfully clean and refreshing. Breakfast is delicious with lots of choices. I cannot rate the place high enough, thank you Amelia!

Reviewed May 30, 2026This is an original 18th century house with comfortable rooms and a splendid living floor where an excellent breakfast is served by the lovely owner. Street Parking is right in front of the house, and the pool is in a beautiful garden across the street. we had grea stay, breakfast on the 1st floor living room being the highlight !

Reviewed May 25, 2026The only thing we missed was getting to know more about the history of this spectacular building. We felt like a royal family with separate rooms for chess and billard and a common reading room with a fireplace. Breakfast were to die for - even myself, alergic to cow's milk and non-meat eater, even I was full and super happy. The sunny chamber with fresques and paintings and vintage furniture and snow-white tablecloths made us feel very special. It was probably the best place I ever slept in!!!
The weather was too cold to swim in the swimming pool ;)

Foram extramente atenciosas e calorosas connosco. Atentas a todos os nossos pedidos. A Casa das Obras é lindíssima, uma casa de sonhos, trabalho, luta e amor... a história da mesma é cativante, se tiverem oportunidade conversem com a Amélia! A realidade encontrada supera as fotos publicadas. Manteigas é um local acolhedor, tranquilo e próximo de muitos locais de interesse para visitar em família, com amigos, em casal... Um fim de semana curto, mas que ficará para sempre em nossas recordações!

Reviewed May 19, 2026Fabulous manor house with all the comforts needed to have an amazing stay. Cátia and D. Amélia are incredibly kind, accommodated and dedicated to their guests. The room was very spacious, clean and it had a tiny fridge to store some goods (if needed). Both in the room and in the common areas you have access to coffee, tea, water, freshly baked cakes and cookies/biscuits. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of cakes, fruits, bread and pastries. Every day Cátia made sure to greet us with a smile and present us with something different and delicious. We cannot thank Cátia and D. Amélia enough for your kindness and hospitality. We'll make sure to come back for summer.

Reviewed May 15, 2026Шикарне помешкання — ніби потрапляєш у королівську епоху. Номер, як і сам готель, дуже затишний. Ввечері особливо приємно сидіти біля каміна та пити чай. У номері тепло, зручне ліжко й подушки. Усюди стоять живі квіти, що створює особливу атмосферу. Сніданок — це окреме задоволення! Тут зовсім не хочеться нікуди поспішати. Смачна кава. Окрема подяка господині, яка щиро зустрічає кожного гостя й робить усе, щоб тут почувалися як удома. Дуже хочеться повернутися ще раз і провести більше часу в цьому чудовому місці. Також зручно, що парковка знаходиться поруч із готелем.

Tea, coffee, water, cake available in hall area. Lounge with fire. Billiard table. En-suite bathroom warm. Mini-fridge available in room.
Dark room small window. As in old centres, need a small(er) car for the narrow streets and parking. No suitcase stand / space for suitcase.

Reviewed May 8, 2026This was the coolest building with so much character and the young lady that ran the place was super friendly! It would be hard to find a guest house/b&b with a more fascinating building than this. It was a relatively small place with so many interesting features that we could have spend all evening just exploring the house. Highly recommend!

Reviewed May 3, 2026Alojamiento emblemático, casa enorme de la nobleza muy bien cuidada y decorada. Excepcional atención del personal y había varias salas de estar y de juegos. Muy bien el desayuno. Tiene piscina
La habitación necesita una actuación. La cama y almohada no eran muy cómodas. Al baño quizá le falta poner un plato de ducha.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Patika viesnīcas aura- kā nakšņot pilī. Saimniece sagaidija laipni,kaut bijām pavēlu. Apartamentos bija svaigi ziedi no dārza. Brokastu galdi klāti ar skaistiem galdautiem un salvetēm. Sajutos īpaši un gaidīti.
Varbūt nedaudz par ciets spilvens. Bet otrajā naktī jau biju pieradusi. :)

Reviewed Apr 25, 2026Everyone was very accommodating and welcoming. It was such a beautiful place to stay. The history was so interesting, and the service was exceptional. The breakfast was delicious, and the room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
