This apartment was horrific. Do not book. It was filthy, stained, flies in the blender, marijuana residue on the sides, dirty tissues, cigarette burns all over the sofa, bin bags and Chinese menus over the windows, and it stunk of smoke. There was a broken window with a ladder propped up against it. Yacob messaged to say he had lost all my details and wasn’t sure which property I had booked. The lady who handed me the keys has a very sexually explicit whatsapp photo. The whole thing was dodgy from start to finish. I paid via bank transfer and lost all my money. I was promised a refund as I could not continue to stay there, and I have received nothing. What’s worse is that Booking.com couldn’t care less. DO NOT DO IT!

Nada, todo fue un gran engaño, transferí 1.680 euros a Yacob a su pedido y luego Booking informa que el costo de mi estadía fue 560 euros y no me devuelve mi dinero.

El lugar estaba muy sucio y lleno de ropa y alimentos y bebidas, obviamente había otras personas viviendo hasta el momento que llegue al departamento. Lo peor fue la deshonestidad del anfitrión Yacob.

We had a great stay at the apartment. As soon as we walked in, we felt right at home with good facilities, and the sound of the street flooded the room when we had the window open, so we felt the buzz of the area. Yacob was a great host with regular communication with how to get in and with local recommendations, which gave us some extra places we might not have considered!

That’s the one for the best location and home of the hood. Owner (Jacob) is a very helpful and warm person who is always ready to your questions or needs.

Похоже новое жилье сдается нелегально. Дальше начинаются махинации с деньгами . Жилье которое он сдал непригодно- посе check in мы обнаружили остатки еды предыдущих гостей в холодильнике, остатки марихуаны и гашиша, белье не меняется , подушки и простыни пропахли марихуаной. Мы съехали на следующий день - денег хозяин не вернул . Мы переехали в отель заказанный через booking.com по соседству. Просим разобраться с ситуацией

The apartment was beautiful, spacious, and in a perfect location.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to a number of issues that should not have occurred.    •   Check-in: We were greeted by the cleaner rather than a host, who did not explain how to use the alarm system on the door. Only one key was provided for three guests, which was very inconvenient.    •   Cleanliness: On arrival, we found damp towels on the bed and furniture, a bed sheet drying on the floor, a full laundry basket, and an unemptied dishwasher. The sound system also did not work.    •   Utilities: The next day, the electricity failed in the back of the apartment and was never restored in the bathroom. Instead, an extension lead and lamp were provided, which raised safety concerns. The hot water also failed temporarily; although it was restored, we were told we could use another guest’s apartment for showers, which was not an acceptable solution.    •   Privacy: On one occasion, the property manager entered the apartment without knocking or notifying us, which felt like an invasion of privacy. While the property manager was polite and did promise a complimentary night for a future stay, no details were provided on how this could be arranged. This stay was meant to be for a special birthday, but the ongoing issues made it very stressful. The apartment has great potential, but at the very least guests should expect a clean, well-prepared property with functioning utilities.

Within the Red Light district, close walking distance to everything you need, as well as attractions (about 30 mins walk from Museumplein) but not as noisy or frenetic as deeper into the district. Felt very safe. The apartment is spacious, beds comfortable, big windows that open. The apartment is well equipped, and the host is generous with extension cords! Much appreciated. Good shower pressure and 2 toilets available. Also 2 fridges, 1 with small freezer. Plenty of space to sit and chat in the canal-facing front room.

Odd layout - almost like 2 apartment spaces joined together. Lovely front room, 2 kitchen “spaces”, pointless sitting room in between, 3 bedrooms - but one is clearly the anteroom to the main bedroom, so you have to walk through it to/from toilet at night. Very warm in main bedrooms. There is an AC unit but it is in the centre of the apartment and really only cools the (not used) sitting room it’s in. To be fair, fans are readily available and windows open, but the layout makes air flow challenging.

Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Amsterdam, the location is perfect - right in the heart of city - next to the red light district. The highlight of the apartment had to be the living room with the large windows you can fully open which overlooks the canal. Very specious rooms and comfortable beds. Overall 10/10 service and hospitality. Yacob is a great host, thanks again. Will definitely be back !

The host, Yacob, was amazing. He helped my partner and I out- big time. After booking.com allowed us to book 5 nights at an apartment which didn't exist, I booked this apartment. The location was perfect and the apartment was beautiful. Our host kept us updated with everything available in the local area and further afield. He provided us with suggestions for places to go for a day trip out, places to go for breakfast and even offered us a safe parking place. Could not be happier with how friendly and helpful Yacob was.

We booked the apartment and arrived literally minutes later. We fully understand that we had given our host no time to prepare and therefore completely understand that the place was not ready as such for our arrival. We were informed the cleaner would be with us the next day to complete any tidying or cleaning that needed to be done. Whilst we totally appreciate our host going above and beyond for us, the cleaning company used provided us with fresh toilet rolls but unfortunately the apartment wasn't cleaned. The bedding hadn't been changed, the bins not emptied and dying flowers left on the side. With all that said, we would HAPPILY stay again as we are sure Yacob did his best to accommodate us and make us comfortable.

Not seem to be shower towels , they were stored out of sight and had to ask. Located towels were initially very smelly. No hand towels available. Shower also smelled initially.

An amazing apartment in an amazing location. The huge double windows that open up and look over the canal is a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy a ''coffee'' ;) Being able to relax in your own private space and yet feel included in the outside world was priceless. Yacob was a great host. Great with comunication and very generous. We arrived on Kings Day and Yacob was celebrating with his friends downstairs, BBQing on the street - insisting we join him for food. This spot is expensive, but you do get what you pay for. The apartment is well secured and despite being in the heart of the Red Light District - is relatively quiet. 100% recommend.

There was construction upstairs in the building on the Monday morning (The host was involved) that should have been rearranged considering how much we had paid to stay in the property. Removing tiles with power tools at 08:00 and then throwing the tiles into a metal skip on the street below - knowing you had guests, was a little inconsiderate.

Very spacious rooms; my bedroom was gigantic, maybe 25m2 with a very large comfortable bed and bedding, beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, large windows, very quiet inside for such a busy area, nice open views of the canal, located right in the medieval center, next to some really good restaurants, shopping, everything you wish for plus a super nice host, available, reactive, helpful and kind.

The location is great, the host is extremely understanding and helpful. Everything was just perfect.

Simply amazing! The host Jacob is really nice and makes sure you have great time. House is large and on a really nice spot in Amsterdam. Would really recommend to everyone that wants to stay in a chique house on a great spot.

Yacob was the quintessential host. The location and front sitting room was lovely. Beds were clean and comfy.

It would have been nice to have a small microwave, but that’s being nit picky. It would have been helpful to have a wardrobe to hang our clothes in the master bedroom.

The only issue for me personally was the shower wasn’t powerful enough but that can easily be amended. The prime qualities are the location,the apartment has everything you could possibly need & the host.

The hospitality of homeowner Yacob was wonderful, he helped us in every subject. The location of home was great. We want to rent this house absolutely when we go to Amsterdam again. The house was comfortable and had everyhing that we need such as umberalla, coffe, tea...

You couldn't pick a better location! bang in the middle of everything you need! The beds were super comfy, and the host couldn’t do enough for us. Everything about our stay was amazing. Highly recommend!

Simply the best place we could’ve ever stated, we all agreed when we come back we’re coming here. The location could not have been better. The apartment itself was enormous there was so much space, it had new tvs good furniture amazing everything about it was perfect and I can’t recommend it enough. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the pristine cleanliness and the tasteful decoration that adorned the space. The crown molding added an elegant touch, complemented perfectly by the breathtaking views of Amsterdam's iconic scenery. The property's strategic location made every exploration effortless, with major attractions and vibrant neighborhoods just a stone's throw away. The abundance of space made my stay exceptionally comfortable. What truly set this property apart, though, was the owner, Yacob. His unparalleled hospitality made my visit truly unforgettable. Yacob not only provided excellent recommendations for exploring the city but also extended a warm invitation to join him for a summer BBQ on his boat. Our stay was nothing short of amazing. I have never met a host as accommodating as Yacob!!! we extended our stay twice and he went to great lengths to make it work. Ended up staying 3 different apartments so he could squeeze us in. Yacob drove us and our luggage when we changed. When we had difficulty getting a cab to the train station upon departure, he drove us. incredible hospitality!!! Every apartment has wonderful views overlooking canals. I will always rebook here when back in Amsterdam.

What an amazing experience at Jacobs place! You can never, EVER find a better location in all of Amsterdam. Watching the world goes by from the window, from the comfort of the amazing couch is truly unbeatable! House was spotless, and the host is such a sweetheart! Cant wait to be back.

The location was excellent if you are looking to be in the heart of the action in Amsterdam. We very much enjoyed coming home after a day of sightseeing to relax in the front lounge room with the windows open listening to the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. The bedrooms are also at the back of the apartment so city noise was not an issue at all for sleep and if you closed the front windows of the apartment, noise was not an issue at all on any level. You are surrounded by many restaurants and bars and it is very easy to move around the city from this location. Yacob was also very helpful and friendly.

Please be aware that the apartment is very typical of many apartments in Europe and that you will need to carry your luggage up tight staircases to get to the second floor. This is not to say that this is a negative as it is the same for many many apartments across Europe, it just needs to be noted for your consideration. The apartment also has some of the owners things stored in some of the bedrooms. Again, this is not a negative, just something for you to note. To have a true expectation of Yacob’s apartment, consider that the space is not a 5 star fully rented apartment building. It is an individually owned, clean, functional apartment in an awesome location if you are looking at being in the center of Amsterdams night life.

Location is something else to be honest we were not expecting that! 2 mins to dam square 30 seconds to red light street and everything is neaR you! Our host was amazing he is helpfull,kind and always online! He waited us when we came and while we leaving he came to say good bye! It will be my new home for the next trip too!
