Great location - city centre but off the main streets, very quiet at night and had great nights sleep because of this. Our host, Nanda, could not have been more accommodating - was flexible with check in times and answered requests via the booking.com app. For breakfast we used a café (Puccini's) that was just outside the property - very reasonable and a good way to start the day.

Not a dislike - but if you have difficulties with stairs please be advised this property has several flights of steep stairs.

The total lack of view, size of the room. No wardrobe. 4 flights of very steep staire( nothing to say about that, it is an old house) No balcony as displayed on photos. Very expensive.

Fantastic! Location was sensational, I particularly loved the window looking onto the canal. Yes as expected there are stairs but once home it’s peaceful. The most comfortable bed. The microwave and fridge plus some extra things were handy to have. Lots of restaurants etc and close to metro. Clear instructions and a lovely host. Loved it.

Such an incredible location, right on the canal with a cozy nook to read / reflect!

It was an unusually hot time in Amsterdam (mid 70s), but the top floor did get hot - opening the window helped a bit, but it stayed warm into the evening.

The view from the room. Comfortable bed that could be adjusted. Good shower. We had everything we needed. Room was quiet. Didn't hear noise from anyone else in building. Great location. Easy to walk everywhere quite easily.

There are a lot of stairs which are quite narrow but worth it to have the great view.

Lovely apartment. Great communication about the details of our stay. Clean, tidy and well maintained. Quiet and within a few minutes walk of cafes, bars and restaurants.

When I booked the room the photo showed a room with a canal view but the room that we stayed had a chimney view The bed was squicky and there was no sound insulation whatsoever

La chambre est très confortable, propre, équipée de frigo, bouilloire et cafetière, avec tout ce qu'il fallait pour le café du matin. La salle de bain parfaite. Quartier très agréable et calme. Aucun bruit. B Evidemment, le tarif peut paraître élevé mais il semblerait qu'à Amsterdam, ce soit partout pareil.

Pensavamo che durante il soggiorno ci fosse almeno un giorno di pulizia, almeno per cambio asciugami e cestini. Comunque abbiamo gradito il soggiorno.

My husband and I are newlyweds and therefore we are still very much in the phase where we just love each other's company. Because of this, this little room was fantastic for us. Not only was it right in the heart of the city with everything so walkable and close and metro, train, etc. so easily accessible, not only did it have the cutest little window overlooking the canal where we would read each day, not only was it totally quiet, and not only did it have just the most comfortable bed, but it was small and quaint and intimate. I won't lie to you, it was very small. If you are going to book this room, make sure you really enjoy the person you are staying with. We are also in our late 20's/early 30's so the 3 flights of stairs going up was no problem for us. In fact, we loved being on the top floor and sitting in the window overlooking the city every day. Very European romance vacation vibes. We had an incredible stay!

We loved our stay, but I would considering booking a different place to stay if: 1. You are not super close and comfortable with the person you are staying with (it is small and close quarters), or 2. You cannot comfortably climb 3 flights of very steep stairs each day. Other than that, no complaints!

We were aware there was lots of stairs so no complaints but just be aware they are very steep stairs! not a lot of room for luggage in room, a very cosy room is a good description!

Top Lage Super Ausstattung

Position, 15 minutes walk from the station. The view of the canal from the room. The big fridge. The free coffee in the room. Overall was a good experience. Bed very comfortable.

Even if it is mentioned before booking, the stairs is a big thing to consider before booking the room. It is located on the 4th top floor. Be ready because they are tiny and tough to climb. When you reach the 4th floor you will feel tired. We are trained but doing them few times per day is tough. If you are older or not trained enough, please take this in consideration. Another thing is that we stayed for 4 nights and nobody came to clean or replace towels even once. This could be implemented. It’s a B&B but it should be considered especially over 3 nights stay. Communication with the host was good even if it is only by booking.com app ( I would maybe implement it with a business WhatsApp number, the guests can contact directly the host for any emergency or quick matters).

I would like to thank Nanda for her hospitality. Even though Amsterdam was in chaos due to snowfall and cold weather, our room was warm and cozy. We ate all the welcome snacks 🙈 And we had the most comfortable bed in the world, and I slept like a baby.

We stayed at Zwanestein Canal House for three nights and really enjoyed the location. The property is very central and within easy walking distance to the Old Town and many of Amsterdam’s main attractions, which made sightseeing very convenient. Being so close to everything while still feeling comfortable made it a great base for our stay. Overall, a good choice for anyone wanting to explore the city on foot.

Muchas escaleras estrechas y empinadas. Algunos muebles un poco anticuados y no hay armario ni cajones para la ropa.

Si trova in una posizione centrale, affacciato sul canale e sul fiume Amstel. L'appartamento è all'ultimo piano, raggiungibile con le scale ripide, ma questo ci è stato detto in anticipo, per cui per noi non c'erano problemi. Sicuramente può risultare faticoso con le valigie, ma una volta su la vista è super! Lo studio è accogliente, letto comodo, il bagno nuovo, in cucina c'era tutto il necessario per dei pasti veloci. Inoltre, c'erano a disposizione le capsule per caffè, le bustine di the, dei biscottini. Tutto molto apprezzato! Consiglio questa struttura e ci ritornerei volentieri!

L’appartement est situé dans un très joli quartier du centre. Le logement est très bien équipé et la literie très confortable. Nous y avons passé un très bon week-end.

Amazingly comfy bed, at the top floor (4 flights) which is extremely explained to you several times so no bother there at all a nice apartment with a comfortable bathroom, bedroom and amenities. A great location to be able to walk around and explore Amsterdam. Nanda was extremely polite and courteous welcoming you and explaining and then leaving you to your own devices to have a home to come back to after each day. A very pleasant stay, thank you Nanda.

Nice area, you could walk to the city center. Coffee and some waffles for breakfast were very useful!

Excellent location with restaurants, transit, and attractions near by. We were very glad we had back pack suitcases as it made climbing the 5 flights easier on arrival. The power bed was great!

Incredible location (lots of great cafes, shops, markets around, plus fairly easy PT access) with really gorgeous canal views. Friendly, helpful host - breakfast snacks and coffee pods, tea etc provided. Bathroom well stocked with shampoo etc. Bed was very comfy. I appreciated the host communicating early on about the stairs (which are narrow and fairly steep) in case it would be an issue with my luggage.

Met with the owner sooner and she stored our bags in the room while it was getting cleaned. The canal view was amazing, great location, bed was so comfy, nice beautiful decor, large bathroom. Lots of thoughtful touches (tea, coffee, snacks, and bathroom items). She even provided us an umbrella to use!

the stairs are no joke. Nanda did tell me about them and had someone take our bags up. This is on me, I assume a canal house had a canal view, it did not. if that’s important to you make sure you book accordingly.

Visitors should take the note about the stairs seriously - they are very steep! Worth the climb though

Très jolie vue sur le canal, lit très confortable, studio propre et proche de sites très intéressants (Maison de Rembrandt, musée Allard Pierson, hortus botanicus, cabinet des chats...) accessibles à pied et de restaurants dans la même rue. L'hôtesse est très accueillante.

Le petit bémol est le bruit des fêtards sur les péniches qui passent sur le canal en début de nuit, le bruit s'estompe après minuit.

Tout était parfait à part le ventilateur au plafond qui ne fonctionnait pas sachant que le jour de notre arrivée c'était canicule
