Reviewed Aug 21, 2026The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. You have all your necessities and it has got a very homey vibe. The bonus was the homemade granola and sourdough - lovely personal touches to a great peaceful stay. Communication was easy and straightforward.

Reviewed Jun 25, 2026Louise provides an excellent accommodation unit with everything guests would ever need for their stay. It was warm, comfortable, clean and welcoming. The mountain view from the room was brilliant and the complimentary continental breakfast provided good selection, quantity and taste. The location is handy to town where a generous evening meal at the local country hotel is available. Bahara offers a really great value stay and outshines most of the other motel/hotel accommodations that we used for our trip.
The only slight negative was that there was no basin in the bathroom (had to use the kitchenette sink in the main room) but with just two people, that wasn't a big problem.

Reviewed Jun 10, 2026Nettes Quartier einer Familie in Springfield. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber zweckmäßig. Es gibt selbstgemachtes Granola zum Frühstück. Großer Garten mit Hühnern und Alpakas.
Hinter den Gästezimmern fährt nachts mehrfach der Dieselzug vorbei. Trotz der sehr ländlichen Lage ist es also nicht unbedingt ruhig.

Le logement est absolument au top, avec une vue à couper le souffle sur les montagnes et les alpagas de la propriétaire. Le jacuzzi était déjà chauffé à notre arrivée avec une eau parfaite à 39°C, ce qui nous a permis d'en profiter pleinement dès le premier soir. Quant au petit-déjeuner, il était tout simplement excellent. Mention spéciale pour le muesli, la confiture et le pain maison : un vrai régal ! Nous recommandons ce lieu les yeux fermés et nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

The glass door and floor to ceiling windows overlooked the owner's backyard with chickens, roosters and alpacas, and had a wonderful view of the mountains. They have a hot tub which, with prior notice, they will switch on so it's hot enough for the guest's stay - I very much enjoyed this opportunity. The owner was very friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed.
For us, there was nothing to fault at the Bahara.

Homemade granola, provide a fridge filled with yogurt, jam, butter, peanut butter and peach cups. Homemade sour dough bread was provided too. Properly fitted kitchen with wares and utensils. Great place to stage for going thru Arthur’s pass.

A bit small and cramped for space and there was no washbasin in the bathroom.

The very occasional train that passed nearby was a bonus attraction and wasn't nearly as noisy as you'd expect. A delicious & copious breakfast was supplied - the homemade granola was standout! Louise is a very pleasant hostess who seems to genuinely enjoy working in hospitality. Would definitely stay again.

Having no handbasin in bathroom was a bit restrictive. Kitchen, was a bit tight and had the only hand basin. However, we made it work.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026De dochter van Louise, Jesse, deed de check-in op haar eigen wijze. Met haar (schat ik) 6-8 jaar deed ze dat super goed! Poes Mittens komt regelmatig even buurten en met uitzicht op de kippen en Alpacas met de bergen op de achtergrond is dit een super rustgevende plek. We geven genoten van de stilte want het naastgelegen spoor hoor je niet.
Helemaal niets. Echt een super fijne plek!!
