Casa de la Cuesta has a very magical atmosphere. It is authentic and comfortable. The rooms are comfortable, large and each room has its own u pique charm. The owner is friendly and helpful and his mask museum is a must see. The staff members are friendly and attentive.
Everything! Amazing host, stunning views, comfortable room, delicious breakfast.
The host is wonderful and a huge help at booking dinners and arranging transport. Spectacular rooms and buildings decorated with Mexican folk art. Definitely take the mask museum tour while you are there. The breakfast was delicious (yogurt, fruit, toast, and some kind of egg dish). Note that it is served at a set time and all guests around one big table which we enjoyed.
It’s a steep climb up a cobblestone hill from town - wear flat shoes.
It was outstanding. Any thing you could possibly need. Excellent, informative gracious host. Wonderful service. Delightful rooms. So comfortable
N/a all was heavenly
Bill was a wonderful host. He and his team made us feel that their home was our home for the week. They recommended a number of outings and restaurants to nearby, all of which we enjoyed. The mask museum on site is amazing, and the casa filled with folk art.
The suite close to the road is a little noisy at night, but other rooms are serene.
Wow, wow, wow! Casa de la Cuesta is truly exceptional, a remarkable place to stay and I can only echo the comments left by others. Bill and the team are incredibly welcoming and supportive - really great hosts. The casa itself is amazing, quiet and relaxing with different spots for hanging out: the garden, the viewpoint, the inner courtyard - as well as those amenities across each of the 7 rooms - and with the mutliple crafts and paintings on display. Breakfasts are substantial and delicious - and will keep you going until well into the afternoon! Bill is a fountain of knowledge on Mexican culture - make sure you join the daily tour of the on-site mask museum! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Bill and the team, thank you so much for making our stay in SMA so special. We hope to be back soon.
Nothing.
Beautiful place. The host was very welcoming and the food for breakfast was great! Be sure to check out the mask museum on the property it is very interesting.
Casa de la Cuesta was like home away from home for my mid-20's daughter & me. Owner Bill was always available to provide guidance or book a reservation. The fellow guests were delightful. Breakfast each morning was tasty, authentic and served with a smile. There were many places throughout the property to relax and hang out. Easy 5-10 minute walk down to the main food market and Centro. Little bit more huffing on the way back up the cobblestone streets, but taxis were easy to hail if we didn't want to walk. Enjoyed looking at all the folk art throughout the common areas, and bringing my friends to tour the on-site mask museum. There's even a masseuse you can book who comes to the B & B!
Honestly, everything was wonderful.
Bill is a wonderful man and host. The breakfasts are sumptuous. Perfect place for relaxing and reading and chatting with other travellers. The decor is stunning
Kicking myself for not booking more time here
All of it was so lovely...the surroundings, the meals, the kindness and humor of the host.
Breakfast was fabulous and plenty
This is an exquisite place. An unbelievable value. The breakfast is 5 star. The host is beyond 5 star. The views. The rooms. The surroundings steeped in Mexican culture. I can’t say enough about this fabulous experience. Stay here!!!
Nothing.
The owner is wonderful. He is very accommodating and ensures you have a wonderful experience. Breakfast is delicious with lots of options. The location is great and easy to find. Plenty of areas on site to just sit and relax.
Everything was wonderful. The light in my room was very light but we realized that is likely the way for all locations. Had to navigate warm/cold water for the shower but not a deal breaker :-) Could figure it out. Hotel is wonderful. Would stay here again!
Superb two-course breakfast each morning: a typical granola, fruit, yoghurt & toast course followed by a daily example of a Mexican breakfast, e.g. Enchiladas con pollo
Location: easy walk downhill to the centre of the city, but needed a taxi back (for me - that said, a taxi in SMA `Centro' is a fixed price of 70 pesos, or about US$3.50.
Loved this place! Almost like being in huge Mexican mansion with an hacienda style decor. The owner,Bill, was very congenial and accommodating. The breakfasts were unbelievable! We enjoyed meeting other people at breakfast each morning and sharing our. Experiences. Plan to return again!
Loved everything!
The house, inspired by Mexican colonial architecture, is gorgeous and carefully decorated with Mexican furniture and objects of art. The breakfast was also remarkable, carefully prepared by the staff. The owners were very hospitable and helpful.
