Gordon and Norlida were amazing hosts and were willing to help with bookings, recommendations, and really anything that we could ask for. The house is set in nature and the view is beautiful. If I end up back in Langkawi, I would love to stay at Veranda Nautica again.

The views were amazing. I don't think you'll get a better view elsewhere. Everything was neat and the hosts were super welcoming.10/10 recommended.

What you see in the pictures is exactly how the property is, the view from the terrace is absolutely stunning, at night you hear the jungle sounds and on the approach to the property you get greeted by monkeys, in three words perfect jungle getaway! But what sets this apart are the hosts Gordon and Norlinda, we only had 2 and half full days in Langkawi, and within 30 minutes of our arrival Gordon helped to arrange a scooter for us, which saved a ton of time for us getting around the island. Moreover, they gave us a whole host of useful recommendations as to where to go and what to see from where to eat and which beaches to see to where to get wine for the evening gazing at the town below from the terrace, for such a short stay this information turned out to be invaluable for us.

I'd be hard pressed to fault something, but, for two northern europeans lack of any meats or eggs for breakfast was somewhat of an adjustment, but it's a tiny issue.

Ohne einen fahrbaren Untersatz, ist es sehr schwierig Veranda Nautica zu erreichen.

Очень добродушный и дружелюбный хозяин, Гордон — приятный и общительный человек, который легко поддерживает беседу. Проживание оставило исключительно положительные впечатления: номер на высоком уровне, а виды — по-настоящему впечатляющие и необычные. Всё было организовано отлично.

В целом всё понравилось. Единственная рекомендация — установить в номерах сейфы, чтобы гости могли чувствовать себя в безопасности и спокойно хранить свои ценности. Считаю, что это не потребует значительных затрат, но существенно повысит уровень комфорта и доверия гостей.

Die beste Unterkunft, die wir auf Langkawi hatten. Der Meerblick ist einfach traumhaft – besonders morgens mit den vielen Vögeln und sogar Brillenaffen, die man beobachten kann. Die Atmosphäre ist unglaublich ruhig und naturnah. Der Vermieter ist super nett und sehr hilfsbereit, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Auch das Frühstück war wirklich gut und ein perfekter Start in den Tag. Wir wären am liebsten noch länger geblieben. Preis-Leistung passt hier absolut. Für uns eine klare Empfehlung!

Mielestäni saaren parhaalla paikalla oleva majoitus. Mahtavat näköalat auringonlaskuineen Kuahin lahdelle. Todella rauhallinen ja nukuin erittäin hyvin. Isäntä Gordon nouti kentältä, hoiti vanhan mutta hyvän vuokra-auton edullisesti majapaikalle oleskeluni ajaksi ja antoi hyviä vinkkejä mitä tehdä saarella. Mieleeni varmasti jäävät ikuisesti rauhalliset aamupalahetket ihanan isäntäparin terassilla. Auto tai skootteri melko välttämättömät, mutta asfaltoitu tie kapeudestaan huolimatta on hyvä ajaa. Itse jatkoin matkaa Koh Lipelle ja auton vuokraaja Mr Dean tuli läheiseen Kuahin lauttaterminaaliin ottamaan auton vastaan, joten auton palautuskin hoitui näppärästi.. Suosittelen ehdottomasti ja varmasti tulen uudestaan, jos tulen vielä Langkawille..

Absolument tout été parfait, la vue, les hôtes, la chambre, le quartier, tout simplement le meilleur hotel de toute ma vie. Gordon et son épouse ont étés formidables, je pourrais revenir en Malaisie depuis la France seulement pour cet hôtel et ça serait un motif valable. Super propre, super beau et décoré dans l’ambiance de la région. Petit déjeuner fait maison, emplacement imbattable. Gentillesse exceptionnelle 11/10 Merci encore !

Amazing views. Probably the best in Langkawi. And Gordon is exceptionally knowledgeable about the Island and a fantastic host. The area is full of wildlife from Squirrels, Monkeys and various birds so if you like that you will love the place. Breakfast was always enjoyable with the views, the talks we had with Gordon and the bread he makes. A vey relaxing place to be and you could spend the whole day on the Veranda taking it all in. For my wife and I one of our memorable trips

Small things really - The location is very isolated high up in the mountains accessible via a single car road and it was a bit of an adventure to get there. Grab (Uber) drivers may not be willing to take you all the way (ours decided to drop us off 50 meters or so away). Best to hire a scooter or car (Gordon was great in organising a car for us and driving is easy in Langkawi). The host has 3 dogs, who are passive once they get to know you but if you are not a dog person just be aware - we were fine with the dogs. But these are minor things and the positives totally outweigh any negatives.

Veranda Nautica is about 10 min up the hill from Kuah town. Although the approach is a bit steep and in the middle of the woods, its well worth the journey uphill. The view is absolutely breathtaking, offering a full panorama of the Kuah town, the bay and the many islands in it. Surrounded by thick foliage, one can see families of spectacled langurs and hornbills. Gordon and Norlida and very gracious and friendly hosts with plenty of tips to explore the island. Gordon assisted us rent a motorbike and arrange boat tours to see the mangrove forests on the north of the island. They have 3 lovely and friendly dogs who are playful and always looking for cuddles. :) the room is clean and very tastefully decorated with antique Chinese furniture and well equipped with all the necessary amenities like fan, airconditioning, etc. Breakfast includes fresh fruits and cereals, juice and coffee and is delicious. We thank both for their kindness and hospitality.

Wow! Besser geht es nicht! Vielen Dank an Gordon und seine Frau. Super freundlich und hilfsbereit! Sehr familiäre Atmosphäre! Sie haben uns direkt vom Flughafen abgeholt. Kaum sind wir bei der Unterkunft angekommen, stehen auch schon Scooter für uns bereit. Diese müssen vorher gebucht werden und sind sehr zu empfehlen um mobil zu sein. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Das Frühstück findet bei den Gastgebern auf der Veranda jeden morgen nach Absprache statt. Gordon hat die besten Empfehlungen für lokales Essen und direkte Kontakte zu sämtlichen Bootstouren. Wir haben eine JetSki Tour gemacht und das war der Hammer! 🤩 Bevor ich es vergesse: für den Ausblick von der Veranda gibt es 12/10 Punkte

Nichts! Man muss sich nur bewusst sein, dass Die Unterkunft etwas außerhalb liegt. Deshalb für kleines Geld Scooter organisieren lassen und dann ist auch das kein Problem. Der Verkehr auf Langkawi ist wirklich sehr entspannt und auch für Europäer kein Problem.

Locaction especially is beautiful and peaceful. The villa provides a fantastic view of the town of Kuah and the bay below the mountain. The veranda in front of the bedroom is fabulous and so relaxing with a veriaty of birds in the surrounding jungle forrest trees.

Found this place last minute — and I’m so glad I did! Everything the reviews said was true. The views were absolutely stunning and completely unmatched — honestly, even more breathtaking than the photos (which don’t do it justice at all). In the morning, we were greeted by wild monkeys — such a cool surprise, especially since we hadn’t seen any during our stay in Langkawi. The setting is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by nature and perched high above the mountains. Our room was cozy, charming, and had everything we needed. Gordon was an exceptional host — friendly, helpful, and full of great tips on what to do and see. It felt so natural and easy chatting with him. I’d recommend this place to anyone who loves tranquility, nature, and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Can't think of anything! If I had to be very picky, I'd say the geicos, but they are part of nature. I'm from the Caribbean and also don't like seeing them there, lol. Regardless, I'll be rebooking Gordon's place soon.

I had such a wonderful stay, with a truly breathtaking view right in the heart of nature. Waking up to that scenery every morning felt like a dream. What made the experience even more special were the two amazing hosts – the best I’ve met so far – who made me feel so welcome and at home. And of course, their three lovely dogs added so much joy and sweetness to my stay. If I ever return to Langkawi, I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. Thank you so much Norlida & Gordon. I love to remember my time at your place so much.

Wir haben in der Unterkunft für 2 Nächte gewohnt. Der Ausblick ist unfassbar schön. Die beiden Gastgeber sind unglaublich hilfsbereit und sehr nett, für jegliche Tipps für Ausflüge etc. fragt einfach bei nach. Wir waren auf Empfehlung von ihnen auf einer Jetski Tour und hatten unglaublichen Spaß - wahnsinniges Erlebnis zu einem sehr erschwinglichen Preis. Das Frühstück war super. Auch das Zimmer war einwandfrei. Wir empfehlen aufjedenfall einen Scooter oder ein Auto auszuleihen. Wir hatten einen Roller welchen uns auch der Gastgeber organisiert hatte, auch das lief sehr unkompliziert ab und er wurde zur Unterkunft gebracht und auch dort wieder abgeholt.

Das einzige kleine Manko ist die Anfahrt durch den Wald. Aber mit ein bisschen Vorsicht passier da auch nichts.

It’s very nice, but you’ll probably be out and about, not so much at the property. Breakfast was very tasty. Gordon’s wife gave me some oil for the bites. Gordon said that he could bring me down to get a Grab to get to the airport if I got no driver that went up. He also said that at night, if the drivers only took me to where the mountain started, he could go get me there (he turns off his cellphone at 10 though). Talking with Gordon was interesting. The room was ok and the bathroom too.

I have never simultaneously paid for a place and felt so much as a guest in a bad way. I stayed here for 3 nights from the 3rd to the 6th of July. There were many things I didn’t expect and didn’t like. For the check-in, Gordon (the host) took me to his veranda. For that, he requested that I took out my shoes. I usually don’t like taking out my shoes, and even less in a place that is, as he says, “in the jungle”. Apart from the fact that there are snails, gecko poo and other things that I don’t want to step on barefoot, the place was infested with fleas, at his veranda and also in my room (where he also expected me to not wear my shoes). Even though I showed Gordon the bites the morning after the first night and he said that it could be fleas, he didn’t do anything. Only the day I was leaving, he said he would fumigate, because I warned the other guests that they should go really protected for breakfast to avoid having more than 40 bites like I did, and the woman was concerned (with reason, the fleas kept going up her legs, as mine). And it’s not just an idea that they were fleas that bit me. One night I was in my room, I suddenly felt something and I looked and there was one. I crushed it with my nail against the floor and blood came out. Also, I had bites in areas that were always protected by the T-shirt except when I slept at night, which also gave me the idea that I was being bitten in my room. For breakfast Gordon expects to set a time the day before, which may be ok for some people but doesn’t go with my idea of holidays, which include possibly sleeping without concerns and deciding things more on-the-fly. I understand that this is because he wants to have everything “fresh” and ready at the optimal moment, but to me it felt like an imposition, as he didn’t mention that I could just go whenever I wanted to. So if I wanted to keep sleeping some more and go later, I felt that I was being unpunctual. This is also because there are just 2 rooms in the property.

Lovely stay with view above the city. Room beautifully designed, clean and spacy. We met just one of the hosts - Gordon. Checked us in, showed us everything, prepared delicious breakfast on time, shared useful tips. Way up is a bit of adventure when driving but nothing impossible. 2nd time was much better and 3rd was already fun and easy. Loved the dogs and gekos ❤️ I'd come back for sure even for longer stay.

Not only was Veranda Nautica our most beautiful stay in Malaysia, the host Gordon made us feel very welcome and helped us make the most of our time in Langkawi. The room is gorgeous, very clean and the view is just magical. Everything was perfect, thank you for having us Gordon ☺️

Should have stayed longer, but had to get back for work..

First of all, Gordon and Norlida are great host and you get the feeling of visiting family or close friends rather than accommodation hosts. They share practical tips about the island, things to do, dining options and anything else. The villa and annexes are in a remote uphill area with an adventurous road leading to it. As a consequence, it is nested in a forestry jungle with ample wildlife and has beautiful and picturous views on the beautiful island. You are also welcomed by very friendly dogs. The rooms are very comfortable and have all the necessary amenities. I’d definitely recommend the place while staying on the island.

We spent 2 nights in Veranda Nautica, and it was amazing stay! First of all, owners met us and allowed to have early check in as well as late check out. Im very thankful to this. Second thing is that location and the view is picturesque!!! Imagine that you are living in the forest, kinda jungles with a lot of different trees, flowers and the view is stunning-town below and a sea with multiple green islands are in front of you!!! Wow!!! L9cation is verily close to all facilities, restaurants, banks, petrol station, jetty! Thirdly, it is very peaceful and calm place where you dont hear anything which can disturb you!!! Only 3 nice dogs are on duty, but they are not bothering at all! Moreover, they are so cute and playful! Accommodation is very very clean, you have a small minibar with cold drinks, which is also favorable after some day trips once you are coming back to Veranda. As I told in the beginning, owners , Gordon and his wife are so helpful, friendly and advising how abd where to spend time better, even Gordon helped us to book SPA with nice massage at the same day of arrival and later booked fishing trip for us!!! Thanks a lot for these adorable 2 nights in Langkawi!

Beautiful place surrounded by forrests, with a great view from the terrase, welcoming and friendly staff!

Gordon and Norlida are wonderful hosts and so very knowledgeable about everything Langkawi. It is hard to peel yourself from the Verandah after breakfast as the birdlife is so close and Gordon has so much interesting information on birds, monkeys and wildlife in general, really. Make sure to ask for dinner recommendations, you won't regret it.

As other guests note, the approach on the narrow winding and steep road is an adventure!

The room is very nice. The view from the room is breathtaking. If you stay more than 2 days. You get the room cleaned.

It is a little bit far from the city center. You need a car, but It is worth it. And to those who drive on the right, it ended up easy to drive on the left especially in the island as it is not very congested and they follow traffic light and driving rules.

Firstly, the view from Veranda Nautica was absolutely insane! It was absolute paradise. Secondly, Gordon and Norlida were the best hosts we have ever had. It felt like we were staying with family. They gave us great suggestions and when I thought I had potentially lost my purse and panicked, I sent them a message and they checked our room straight away and found it. Thirdly, we really loved Kuah and how it was away from the tourist area. We really liked the restaurants, cafe and shopping, Kuah tower and the park next to Kuah tower.

Nothing. What I would say is that the road to get to Veranda Nautica may be a bit daunting for some people and we hired a scooter. This ended up being fantastic and we were able to zip around the island on our own schedule. I think if you are unable/don't want to drive, I think you could manage getting Grabs in the day and walking down the hill slightly to get a Grab.

The hosts, the view, the ambience, the friendly guardians especially dexter ❤️. The room layout and design was very well thought out. What more can I say about their internet provided by Starlink 👌🏼 Everything is nothing but phenomenal. If you are here to read the reviews, dont think twice, just book it, if not you might regret it.

This place is a hidden gem in Langkawi, perfect for a honeymoon. we had so much fun and Mr. Gordon and Mrs. Norlida was so friendly and so helpful they guide us to everything we want to do and even served us late breakfast which was very appreciated, breakfast was nice I really liked the fruit dish and the Malaysian jam. The room was decorated amazingly and clean, internet, clean towels and bed. This place is up the hill which will give you a wonderful view morning and night. Thank you for making our honeymoon a memorable experience will definitely come again in our anniversary 🥰

The only thing we had difficulty in was that some drivers will cancel the trip just because it’s up the hill, but we didn’t mind it because the location was unique. Also ordering food would be difficult to deliver, but we brought our food and Mr. Gordon was so kind to let us use his microwave to heat it up.

Hosts could not have been more welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our stay with them was exceptional. . The views were stunning and the area so peaceful and relaxing. The accommodation was very nice and modern, and the views from the balconies were fantastic (photos doesn’t do it justice). But what made our stay truly exceptional was the hospitality of the hosts! Gordon and his wife had made us feel at home, gave us great recommendation about the island, hosted delicious breakfast every morning and truly made our stay great. The extra bonus was the three super friendly and cute dogs that greeted us at the property. We will definitely come back again if we are back at Langkawi!

AMAZING experience! A must try for nature lovers especially, and still a win for those who are not. The serenity and peace sets you free, with 24 x 7 view of picturesque Langkawi, you could just stay for hours on your balcony and sea watch. The breakfast is also wonderful, with home-made bread that tops the list! Congratulations Gordon and Ida Smith, for a heaven on earth, home away from home.

Fantastic view and host. We came unplanned and let the host recommend. They have good contacts, and they managed to arrange for a wonderful anniversary dinner at short notice. Its near the main town, and wonderful dogs too! Breakfast was made fresh (love the bread), but it will be excellent if they can provide at least 1 different ala carte breakfast daily.

1. The uphill road leading was very challenging, especially at night and on rainy days. Do be careful. 2. Lizards abound but can't help it if you want to stay with nature.

Gordon and his wife were incredibly friendly and welcoming to us. They made us breakfast each morning and the views from their terrace are spectacular. The place itself was very cozy and cute. Wifi is VERY good (being Starlink) and everything was as described. I definitely recommend this place!

It’s best to have your own car. Grab drivers won’t go there. The drive is a bit tricky, especially at night. But it’s definitely doable. Just something to keep in mind.

You managed to get a room? Congratulations! What you won't find is a resort with a pool, but instead, a view that I doubt you'll find anywhere else on Langkawi. What you can expect is a room that lacks nothing and a terrace where, once you sit in the evening, you realize: "Yes, now I'm on vacation." You will also be greeted by two hosts, Gordon and Norlinda, who are not only incredibly kind but are always there to offer help and advice. Whether it's tips for excursions, restaurants, or the perfect beach day – they're always there for their guests. I'm glad I spent two wonderful days here and highly recommend this place.

Gordon and Norlida were amazing hosts. They gave good recommendations and have good contacts around the island. Aside from this, the view was beyond this world, even though we were unlucky with the weather. Personally, we feel like we couldn't have chosen a better accommodation on Langkawi. We hired a scooter for 50 RM a day, which we highly recommend.

Sadly, the sun wasn't included in the price. ;)

The place is a little bit out of reach, difficult to get there without a car/scooter/taxi. A little stressing if you are not used to insects and spiders!

This place is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in, the view from the veranda is just breathtaking. The room is clean and beautifully decorated. The entire facility is located quite far from the city center and getting to it is quite difficult, but thanks to the host's hospitality this is not a big problem. We could count on help with renting a scooter and organizing trips. Gordon also advised us on the best restaurants and picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry. It was a wonderful few days and I wish we could have stayed longer.

We had the most amazing stay at Veranda Nautica. It is a little remote with a breathtaking view which is even more impressive when viewed in reality. The nature at veranda is beautiful, we could even spot a hornbill while having breakfast. The owners are delightful and made us feel cozy and welcomed. With their local knowledge they gave us many useful tips (such as restaurants and what to do around) and helped us to book a scooter. Thanks for the amazing experience and to anyone going to Langkawi we highly recommend staying at Veranda Nautica

Gordon and Norlida were very good hosts. The view from the Veranda is amazing. We had experienced top notch hospitality during our stay here. It's a once in a lifetime experience.

Access to that place is difficult, so facilities from outside are so difficult to get .although they are so cooperative to help

Gordon was absolutely great. This place has the best view i've seen of Langkawi, with a lot of privacy and comfort. it's very special and I definitely recommend staying here

What can I say? There is not much I can add to what has already been said before. Gordon was an amazing host. I opted for the airport pick-up and drop-off service, which Gordon personally did himself (which was worth it for me because it was door-to-door and hassle-free). As mentioned by others, the road/ drive up to the Veranda Nautica was an adventurous drive, but was easy to get used to. We were greeted upon our arrival at the Veranda Nautica with refreshing drinks, fresh fruit and breathtaking views. Gordon provided great insights for a 3-day itinerary, including things to see and do, spas and places to eat. Thankfully, he was always a message away by Whatsapp - which was really great. He arranged for a 165cc scooter to be delivered directly to the Veranda Nautica at a reasonable rate, which was super convenient (just make sure you get the right size decent helmets with it). The room was clean , bright and comfortable with literally the best views of Langkhawi. A healthy breakfast every morning comprised of fresh juice, fresh coffee, freshly baked bread, jam, fresh fruit slices and cereal. My only regret was that I didn't stay longer and spend more time relaxing on the veranda enjoying the view !!

There is nothing to mention about what I didn't like, but just be aware of the following: 1. As mentioned by others, the road/ drive up to the Veranda Nautica was an adventurous drive and can be difficult to find if you arrive at night, but it was easy to get used to. I personally enjoyed the ride up and down by scooter. 2. Be aware that, as with any other property in the area, there is a lot of natural beauty and nature surrounding the property, such a birds, squirrels, small lizards and insects. Personally I love nature and did not find this to be an issue but an attraction.

You come for the views and stay for the hospitality. A great feeling to wake up to monkeys, birds etc and be completely surrounded by nature.

We loved absolutely everything, the place is stunning and so comfortable. Gordon was the most accommodating host we’ve ever had, it really was like staying with family. Thank you so much for everything Gordon!

The view across the bay is stunning! The included breakfast is nice and very convenient. The hosts have good tips for getting boat tours around the island.

Some previous reviews mentioned the steep road to the house. Yes, the drive to the house is steep, but quite doable even on the lightest scooter, which we rented (Uncle B, also a good tip).

Staying at Veranda Nautica was the perfect way to start our vacation in Malaysia.It is surrounded by nature and with stunning views of the neighbouring islands. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated, spacious, and the AC worked well. Breakfast was delicious, and having it every morning in such a spectacular location is a thing we will always remember. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, they helped us with everything we needed, gave us tons of useful information but most of all, we had great conversations together. It's a good idea to rent a car , especially if you want to explore the island, but taxis or Grab are good options as well and they're inexpensive. Langkawi is a safe place to drive, there's never too much traffic and it has a good infrastructure.

Hardly anything that I didn't like. The place is located on a hill and is a little out of the way, but that's the reason the views are spectacular!

I had few challenges, the owners helped me in all means they can and provided the proper advises, I am very thankful for all their support. Great hosts, you feel like home. Mesmerizing views from the venue terrace, beautiful and colorful decoration for the rooms. Breakfast is tasty with natural yummy fruits.

The way to reach especially at night is tricky, I hope authorities will help to open a proper road in the future. However that's the cost of adventure experience, it's worth it.

The property has the most stunning view. Just being there will make you feel at peace. The couple that own and runs this guest house, is friendly and really helpful. You can’t help but feel like you’re part of the family. Here’s an overview of the property. It’s a gorgeous little property up the hill in kuah. The property features two rooms with a gorgeous view overlooking the sea and all the little islands there. The room is spacious, clean. Very quaint and beautifully decorated. There’s a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the view The couple make the breakfast daily themselves. You sit with them and the other people renting the second room and enjoy your breakfast with the morning stories while basking in the morning light and the beautiful view. You simply feel like you’ve left everything behind, it does wonders to your mood. Specially when the husband from Newzealand and the wife from Malaysia, tease each other in such a cute way.

It’s a bit up the hill so sometimes it’s not easy to get a grab to come to you. But when then that happens, the owner always drives you or picks you up from an accessible point. So there was really no real problem there
