Good location, 2 minutes to bars and restaurants or 10 minutes to Alona beach, but tucked away and quiet. Helpful in booking trips. Definitely recommend. Great value.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026It can be found starting down a short dirt track on the left heading west toward Danao. If you have wheelie case you'd better carry it or risk the wheels being destroyed. Then you turn right onto a concrete path which takes you through some shack-like dwellings with cats, dogs and various fowl wandering about. The welcome is friendly and the common interior area is fairly informal with a dog or two, and other of the family's things lying around. + The room on the first floor was nice enough, with decent air con and places to store things, a rail to hang clothes, and a sort of mini chaise longue tight against the wall by an internal window. No desk and chair, though, so any pc work could really only be done lying on the bed . A fridge and hairdryer too. and a bedside table with lamp. Comfortable bed and pillows, thankfully.
If you like the noises of animals, this is the place for you. The sounds of the place's dogs barking and cockerels of the neighbours at all hours was not at all expected and became rather annoying, even when using earplugs to sleep. Also, the external window blinds were very stylish but a bit feeble in their light-blocking abilities in the early morning. Bring an eye mask. Couldn't get the TV to show anything. The breakfast was included and didn't seem to be an opt-out. If you need decent fresh coffee and bread or pastries in the morning, you'll need to order in, if possible, or go to somewhere like the Korean Blooming Angel Bakery and cafe near the big McDonalds. Don't expect fresh coffee here- it's just instant Nescafe and creamer sachets and cheap orange flavoured juice. There is an egg option on the menu, cooked to taste; one egg, scrambled, fried, as omelette etc. Or a vegetarian option with two eggs plus three pretty poor small pancakes and some sort of orange -coloured syrup to pour over, instead of the two sausages option. The toast is two slices of white with butter (I think, or margarine), and strawberry jam. Pity there's no fruit offered.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026Nicht direkt am Strand, aber nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß dahin. Das empfanden wir als Vorteil, da es daher sehr ruhig und gemütlich war. Schöne, sehr saubere Zimmer. Tolles Bad mit abgetrennter Dusche. Homestay Atmosphäre mit sehr gemütlichem Innenbereich und gutem Frühstück. Großer Kühlschrank (gemeinsame Nutzung) und sehr freundlicher und engagierter Betreiber und sehr herzliches Personal.
Nichts, vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit 🙃.

la possibilità di far ascciugare i vestiti. Purtroppo siamo capitati in due giorni di pioggia. La strada da percorrere per raggiungere la spiaggia; per arrivare alla location bisogna camminare su strade sterrate e fangose e attraversare le baracche (ma è il must delle Filippine)

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026Fiquei em um quarto com banheiro privativo com ar condicionado. Pudemos deixar as malas antes de entrar no quarto. E na saída, a atendente se esforçou para nos arrumar um tuk tuk para a Praia Momo Beach de onde sai o ferry para Oslob (pode comprar pelo 12go) e fez um lanche para levarmos às 05:30am. A 100 metros tem aluguel de moto. E a pé se chega na praia Alona Beach. Fizemos mergulhos com a Bohol Divers em Balicasag Island e Danao Wall, vale muito a pena. A Saryta é excelente instrutora para iniciantes e fala espanhol. Café da manhã com o necessário, correto para o valor pago na pousada. Chuveiro bom, cama ok.
Como várias acomodações nas Filipinas, você passa por uma viela simples até chegar na pousada. Mas não é problema, ficaria lá de novo.

タオルは清潔ですが逆に新しいからなのか、拭いていると少し糸くずが体につきました😅でも大きな問題はないです！

Reviewed Mar 16, 2026The loved the genuine homestay feel, the staff were very friendly & helpful. The owner James is a genial Aussie who you can spend hours talking to. The experience of staying here is a world away from a standard run-of-the-mill hotel. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds, and a very good breakfast was included. The Homestay is in a quiet location tucked away from the busy main road.

Можно заказать туры, но мне они не понравились. Ванная вне номера не напрягает. Можно оставить вещи после выселения, принять душ и отдохнуть. В номере чисто, кровать удобная.
Очень шумный кондиционер, спать без него жарко, а с ним очень шумно. Утром просыпаются петухи, так что спать после 5 утра практически невозможно. Дорожка до отеля узкая и грязная, будет не очень удобно с чемоданом. Цена немного высокая для такого сервиса, но на Панглао цены вообще высокие.

Mi sono sentita subito a mio agio: la struttura è accogliente e pulita, e tutto lo staff è gentile e sempre disponibile. La casa si trova in una zona vicina al centro ma lontana dal caos. L’unico vero peccato è stato dover tornare a casa.

Reviewed Dec 25, 2025The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast provided was sufficient and there was warm water for drinking when ever we asked for. The staff provided us umbrellas as it was heavily raining. They also contacted our driver as we were unable to get through to him.
The owner of the property Mr James was rude when we initially contacted him. He would not answer our queries and kept us waiting for long. He would straight away reply that he can't always get to the messages straight away and that we should show more patience. This shows his unwelcoming, unfriendly and laid back attitude. The only excuse the owner had all the time for not clarifying our queries on time was that they are a small place and we should expect only what is expected from a home stay and nothing more. The approach road to the property is very very bad, broken, full of pot holes, slush in rains, dark at night and quiet far away from the main road. Be prepared to lug your own suitcases for quiet a distance when you arrive. The toilet of our triple room lacked basic amenities - like the shower pressure was very low, the mixer in the shower did not work. Photos of the toilet and the showers area itself were not shown in the Booking.com site - thus misleading us. Toiletries were not provided as promised by the owner. There were no duets in the bedroom and only a thin sheet on the bed to cover ourself at night during the stay. There was no electric kettle in the room. One had to go down the stairs to the kitchen to fetch warm water and morning bed tea each time. The wifi did not work during our stay. It was down throughout and nothing could be done about it. Beach was quiet far off and one had to walk on a busy road with no walking path on the side for almost 20 mins. It would be better to stay closer to the beach. Avoid staying in the property definitely basically due to the owners unresponsive attitude and the facilities. There are many hotels at same costs nearby where one should stay but definitely not this one.

Teníamos un tour a las 6 de la mañana y se levantaron antes para prepáranos algo para llevar Nos salió el vuelo por la tarde y nos dejaron ducharnos y nos dejaron toallas, después del tour de la mañana Max, un perrito encantador Volveríamos sin duda alguna!

Reviewed Nov 13, 2025Our favourite place that we stayed in the Philippines. The family/staff are so kind, welcoming and helpful with anything you need. Max the dog is gorgeous. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfy and the linen is really soft. Nice clean bathrooms and the communal areas are clean and comfortable too. We had our washing done here and it was the cleanest washing we’ve had done during our entire Asia trips, our whites came out sparkling! Great to have breakfast included also! Really peaceful area, was able to sleep in well with all the peace and quiet. About a 10 minute walk into the main town.

Unica pecca è la strada che porta alla struttura sporca e mal tenuta .

Reviewed Aug 18, 2025Cerca del centro pero muy tranquilo. No se oía ningún ruido. Estaba todo muy limpio. Las chicas que trabajan aquí son muy amables y siempre con una sonrisa. El desayuno muy bien. La cama cómoda.
Haber recibido algún consejo más sobre la zona o las mejores actividades que hacer.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2025I rarely put up reviews during our stay as most of the time, it provides adequate and sufficient need for us. But, our experience with Unks House Homestay is what I will call 'homey'. They provide more than enough of our needs and the owner, Sir James, made us feel like we are part of his family. Me and my partner enjoyed the hospitality, the extra miles, and everything in between. He even offered us to use the comfort room and stay there since our flight is at 10PM - free of charge. We will surely come back with our friends or family. Looking forward to seeing James and Emma in the future again. We are very happy and satisfied. God bless you more with all the goodness you've done to people.
