In die Jahre gekommendes Haus inkl. Besitzerin. Frühstück na ja... Zimmer kalt, Bett klamm, Heizung war ungenügend+ erst bei Ankunft eingestellt. Durfte Wäsche abgeben, es kam nur ein Teil zurück...äusserst unfreundlicher Abgang.

Our host Villieria is so sweet and friendly and very accommodating to make sure your stay is comfortable. Our breakfast was great,. The lodge itself is lovely and you can walk to the beach. It is safe and location is quiet. Worth the stay and very cost effective.

Reviewed Jan 26, 2026Sehr gut gelegene Unterkunft nicht weit entfernt von einem kleinen Strandstück. Zimmer sind zweckmäßig mit großem Balkon und Fan. Da es sehr heiß war konnte man tagsüber nicht auf dem Balkon sitzen, da es keine gute Überdachung gab, die genügend Schatten spendete. Ansonsten hat man vom Balkon aus einen super schönen Blick auf das Meer. Bett sehr groß und bequem. Bad leider etwas klein, aber zweckmäßig. Sehr leckeres Frühstück Die Besitzerin war total liebenswürdig und hilfsbereit. Es war immer ein Vergnügen, sich mit ihr zu unterhalten. Zu unserem Zeitpunkt waren sehr sehr liebe Gäste anwesend. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen.

Zimmer waren leider ziemlich staubig und in die Jahre gekommen, Bad sehr alt und klein und auch sehr in die Jahre gekommen (Fugen, Armaturen) Sehr viele Stechmücken

Reviewed Dec 16, 2025Schönes kleines privat geführtes B&B mit fantastischem Blick auf das Meer. Wir hatten das große Doppelzimmer gebucht. Schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Tolles großes bequemes Bett. Meerblick hat man von jedem Zimmer. Das Badezimmer war etwas eng, weil nachträglich eingebaut, aber kein Problem für uns. Am Tisch wurde morgens durch die Gastgeberin das Frühstück serviert. Die liebenswerte Gastgeberin hat uns auch einen tollen Tipp zum Abendessen gegeben.
Es gibt nichts zu sagen....

Reviewed Oct 18, 2025Wenn das Erste, was Du morgens von Deinem Bett aus siehst, eine Walfluke ist, kann es kaum besser werden. Schöne Zimmer mit Meerblick – wir haben die ganze Zeit von unserem Zimmer aus keine 400 Meter entfernt Wale beobachten können. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr nett, das Frühstück mehr als ausreichend mit Kaffee, Saft, Müsli, Brot, Eier, Käse. Es gibt einen Trinkwasserspender und Wasserkocher und wir konnten unsere Getränke usw. in einem Kühlschrank lagern. Die Lage ist wunderbar ruhig und es lassen sich zu Fuß schöne Spaziergänge unternehmen. Mit dem Auto sind es nur wenigen Minuten zu Restaurants oder auch zum Cagediving, Whalewatching, Supermarkt usw. Parken direkt vor dem Haus.

The hostess is a friendly & lovely lady who is attentive & kind to all her guests. They serve a lovely, full breakfast. I would go back again. 😀
The parking is on open area in front of the house, no fence or gates, but it was safe. The downstairs front room can get a bit noisy when other guests arrive & if the curtains are open, they can look directly into the room. A privacy sheer crtain would remedy that. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay!

Reviewed Aug 28, 2025Posizione sicuramente da invidiare essendo praticamente in riva all’oceano, silenzio e comfort per farti sentire veramente rilassato, pulizia degli ambienti, colazione ottima ed abbondante, ma sopra ogni cosa la gentilezza e la disponibilità della padrona di casa, che è stata davvero impagabile per consigli sia su dove mangiare che su cosa fare. Ci tornerei solo per rivederla!!

A hospedagem é de muito bom gosto, extremamente confortável e possui uma varanda com vista de tirar o folego! Café da manha muito bom!

Perfectly located in De Kelders, Villiera gave us great recommendations for restaurants and activities, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. If visiting the Gansbaai area, I highly recommend staying at The Bay Lodge.

You can come and go as you like.The friendliest host by far. Her name is Villieria. She makes us feel so welcome, always making sure we have everything we need. Extra kitchen upstairs next to the rooms, a bonus with microwave, fridge, cutlery and Zink for washing dishes ,available for use for guests.Down stairs is the breakfast area with main kitchen.Villieria has a funny spontaneous professional personality. Highly recommended. I will definitely stay here again.

Large comfy bed along with kettle, fridge and access to a shared kitchen that had a microwave, plates, cutlery etc. The balcony faced the ocean and had outdoor furniture to relax, all you could hear was the ocean and a few birds. Short stroll to the beach and access to ocean walks either way from the property. Free WiFi, TV in room which we did not use so unsure of channels. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and very fulfilling. The host is a lovely lady, very friendly and approachable. Overall we loved our stay and this was a great way to finish our 3 week holiday and definitely would return. Thanks for your hospitality.

Reviewed Nov 28, 2024The location of the guesthouse the breakfast, the view, the service, the hospitality of the owner (a very nice lady!) were amazing !!!! The owner gave us very helpful advice for our stay and for our trip and she even recommended us an extaordinary restaurant and she also booked us a table there! Furthermore she offered us to book all our wished activities for us, like e.g. whale watching boat cruises, etc. . She even recommended us a particular company for the whale watching which really was the best one! Our room was quite big and very cozy and nice, also very neat and we had everything we needed! For example we had a hot water kettle with tea and coffee, a big flatscreen smart TV with Netflix, Youtube, etc. , a very big, cozy and comfotable bed, etc. And we even had a beautiful ocean view from our bed.... It was really amazing! We got more than enough value for our money.... !!!! We can highly recommend this guesthouse and we would even say it is the best choice (especially when looking on "value for money") in the area of Gaansbaai and De Kelders! We would in any case love to come back again! Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay!

Reviewed Oct 27, 2024It honestly felt like being welcomed by your favorite fun aunt ❤️ it’s not fancy but it has everything you need and the fact you get a PROPER home made breakfast is just the cherry on top! The rooms are clean and the bed was so comfortable. We felt so at home and so safe that it took seconds to fall asleep and the fact you could often still hear the ocean was even better! The view was amazing and the walk to the beach was easy and fast. Just a wonderful part of the beach. We also got a GREAT recommendation to eat at „The great white house“ which was great!
