Cool Breeze View

Det ligger lite utanför centrumet i Ella, ca 15 min promenad in till staden, men det var inget problem för oss, vi tyckte det var väldigt skönt att bo mer i naturen och med en fantastiskt utsikt! Jämfört med många andra boenden som vi såg uppe i bergen ligger det väldigt bra till! Det bästa med boendet var frukosten varje morgon, vi kunde säga till dagen innan när vi ville äta frukost och den stod alltid på bordet när vi kom ut! En väldigt stor och lyxig frukost och varje dag fick vi något annat! Vi fick också lämna våra väskor hos dem när vi var på Pekoe Trail i två dagar, vilket var väldigt praktiskt! Väldigt snäll familj som äger stället!

Handdukarna luktade lite rök, men inget problem för oss då vi hade med oss egna handdukar

Mooie locatie, 15 minuten lopen vanaf het centrum. Goed ontbijt en een fijn bed met klamboe.

De waterdruk en wifi waren wat minder.

La chambre et sa vue sur Adam’s peak. Les singes dans les arbres au lever du soleil. Le bon petit déjeuner. La gentillesse de la famille, leurs sourires.

Taras z widokim na dżunglę. Buszujace małpy o poranku, obfite śniadanie i herbata. Od centrum kawałek - z 15 - 20 min z buta po schodach w dół zbocza, ale warte wysiłku. Można dojechać tuk-tukiem. Cisza, spokój. Ponado czysto i schludnie. Sympatyczni właściciele.

The view is INCREDIBLE! You will have the best breakfast of your life over there just looking at that view alone is a five star feast for the eyes! I was waiting for breakfast outside and admiring the view and then a single cool breeze came and gently knocked the fallen leaves off the tin roof and then swept them from under my feet and off the terrace and then I remembered the name of the place and let out a faint "wow." Staff was very nice and helpful. Best bring some very good mosquito repellent though if you want to stay out on the terrace.

Nice, comfortable and clean room. View of trees with monkeys. Hot shower (though low water pressure). Tasty breakfast.

No working wifi. Can be a bit noisy at night because of barking dogs and poor sound isolation of rooms. Location is good, but be aware that you need to walk along the winding main road to reach the smaller narrow road to the property. While it only takes 15 minutes into town, it's not enjoyable. Because of the tuktuk mafia in Ella, it's also not possible to book online transport. I had to walk all the way to the main road with my luggage to find a tuktuk and was then charged a high amount to go the two minutes into town.

Great breakfast, nice host, English communication not so easy though, still can be manageable. Location is a bit far. If you can walk 15-20mins to the centre, then it's ok.

Es war toll. Da es etwas außerhalb von Ella liegt kann man morgens Affen und Vögel beobachten. Das Zimmer war sehr schön, das Bad geräumig und sauber, das Wasser warm. Die Gastgeber sind super herzlich. Alles war wunderbar.

Hele mooie locatie in Ella met prachtig uitzicht vanaf het balkon en een heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt. Daarnaast erg handig dat er een wisser in de badkamer was om de badkamer droog te maken. Het is ongeveer 10 tot 15 minuten lopen naar het centrum wat voor ons niet erg was maar goed om rekening mee te houden.

Das Frühstück war sehrsehr gut! Die Lage fanden wir super mit dem Blick ins Grüne, ins Zentrum hatte man zu Fuss ca. 10-15 Minuten. Es war auch angenehm ruhig. Der Ventilator hat total ausgereicht.

Der Teppich wirkte etwas schmuddelig und auch sonst war nicht alles allzu sauber, aber auch nicht dreckig.

What a great find this place is away from the hustle and bustle of the main town but within walking distance. Try the home cooked food its delicious and great value for money. The family are so lovely 😍.

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb des Trubels der Stadt und bietet einen tollen Blick ins Grüne. Trotzdem ist man schnell in der Stadt wenn man möchte. Das Zimmer war sauber und das Personal sehr bemüht und nett.

WLAN war zwar vorhanden aber nicht so gut. Das Personal spricht leider nicht so gut Englisch

The location is just perfect, a bit of a walk from town but in a lovely peaceful area and in a bright sunny spot with lovely views. The bed was very comfortable, with a fan, which is just enough in this climate. The room was not damp like other guesthouses we stayed in in Ella! Breakfast was the absolute highlight, freshly prepared and delicious. We felt well looked after by the hosts but not imposed on, their lovely son did a great job at translating whenever there was a language barrier. Perfect place to stay!

The hosts were really nice, and even put some of my stuff like a watermelon into their fridge. Breakfast was amazing and they even packed me a breakfast at 4am when I was going for a sunrise hike. Also, it is very quiet where you stay.

They couldn't really give hints on what to do because communication was difficult. They were nice enough to do laundry, but that was quite expensive (2400) which I wouldn't mind, but not one of the stains got out (not even the sand colouring in shirts). It is a bit of a walk from town and though you could have an amazing view into the valley, you look more into the green surrounding you.

Amazing stay! The service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and beautiful presentation. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Ella!

It’s a bit away from the busy town centre, but totally worth it

The breakfast was very good! The stay very nice and quiet a bit outside Ella and away from the noisy streets. Our hosts were so kind and nice to us. Even drove us to the train station after check out! Thank you so much.

We were lucky enough for the room next door to be empty most of our stay so we enjoyed a lovely getaway. The road was a little small for our van but we enjoyed the walks, and Ajith? was always happy to tuk tuk us to the Main Street if needed eg with our bags.

The rooms were simple, clean, and comfortable, with mosquito nets and a large fan. The shared balcony had a lovely view over the valley, and you could see a waterfall on the walk to the rooms. Breakfast was served exactly on time, and the traditional Sri Lankan food was great. The hosts were warm and hospitable, and communication over WhatsApp was efficient. Excellent value for money.

The 15-minute walk to town may be too much for some, especially in the dark. However, the owner has a tuk-tuk, and there are plenty available in town, so transport is easy to arrange. Coffee wasn’t available at breakfast, but tea was provided.

This really was a brilliant place to stay in Ella. Outside of the centre meant it was nice and quiet, really well located for accessing Ella Rock by the railway and the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cool Breeze View. The owners arranged a scooter for us and made an amazing breakfast every single morning. The bed was comfy and you could observe so many monkeys from the terrace. So even though it is super close to the center (10min walk) you are surrounded by nature and can escape the busy and touristy streets of Elle 🐒 🌴 Would definitely recommend staying here!

The bed was the comfiest I’ve slept on in Southeast Asia. The rooms were immaculately clean, and the showers had hot water and wonderful water pressure. I ate both dinner and breakfast at the homestay and the food was excellent and plentiful. The breakfast (which was included in the price) was incredible. The family who owns the homestay are very sweet. Only the son speaks English, but you can use google translate to (sort of) talk with the parents.

The view from the rooms/porch area was not what we were expecting. There was a false photo on their Google page (left by a guest, not the family themselves) which was misleading. They’ve since requested the photo be taken down. It’s worth noting though— you won’t have a view of the mountains, sunrise or the valley below because the trees are blocking it. The patio was not really a patio, but more so the entry way to the property. So, there’s no privacy on the “balcony” that’s advertised. The sliding glass doors to the room mean that in order to have privacy, you have to close the curtains, making the room very dark inside. During our stay, the family would frequently come over to the porch and peer in the room to check in or offer tea (good intentions), but this left us feeling like we had no privacy.

Beautiful remote, mountainside location that is about 15 minutes walking into town. Super sweet hosts that are attentive and communicative. Breakfast is big and delicious!!! The bed is super comfortable, high quality bedding, and best mosquito net I’ve ever seen. Shower water is very hot. There are only two rooms so it’s calm and quiet. You can see birds, monkeys, and civets from the breakfast table. Very peaceful ¨̮ Great wifi speed!

The “balcony” is more of a shared patio with the other guests and host, which means not so much seclusion. The French doors to your room are glass so you will have to close the curtains for privacy but then you can’t see the view. The view itself is obstructed by trees, thus the valley and sunrise are out of visibility. The host is very accommodating and kind but also a little overly attentive, hovering on the “balcony” when we would’ve preferred more personal space.

We had a wonderful stay at this guest house! The location is stunning – surrounded by nature, yet just a quick 4-minute ride by tuk-tuk to the center. The hosts are incredibly kind, always available, and very helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and prepared with so much care! Highly recommended!

Guesthouse is run by a very kind family, they dont speak much english but they are there to help you if you need anything. They prepare the most delicious breakfast in the morning. The home stay is on a 20 minute walk from the center of Ella and is quiet and peacefull.In front of the room you can see the monkeys and squirrels playing in the trees

The family were so so lovely and the son who spoke more English was able to help me with his times. Breakfast was huge and delicious!

A little bit out the way and a main road to get to the main area so can’t walk at night but easy and cheap enough to take a tuktuk.

A glorious stay at Cool Breeze, located in an oasis a little distance from the busy mainstream of Ella. The bed was the biggest bed I've ever slept on. The breakfast was a delicious traditional Sri Lankan feast, organised for me at whatever time suited me best! Of course with a big pot of tea. And the views from the room, from the terrace where breakfast is served, is of the gorgeous palm trees where monkeys jump between branches, behind the trees you can see the gorgeous Ella Rock and waterfall. Thank you for a stunning stay, I wish I had stayed longer! 🍃🫖🍳

Bear in mind this is located 15 minutes walk from mainstreet which for most will only be a bonus but just something to consider.

Amazing breakfast, lovely family

Best bed we had this holiday. We stayed in the bigger room. The family is so friendly and we loved their homecooked dinner and breakfasts.
