Auf beiden Seiten des Hauses zwei Strassen, daher relativ laut auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern.

To top it all off, the breakfast was delicious. We're happy to recommend it to anyone visiting the village of Pictou.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026We had a wonderful stay! Our room was the perfect size, overlooking a beautiful garden, very quiet, with a private bathroom stocked with towels and soaps. The room was cozy, quiet, and the bed, bedding, and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Brenda and George were exceptional hosts who made us feel like part of the family. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, including a thoughtful birthday card and chocolate bar waiting in our room after I mentioned we were celebrating my birthday. Their healthy, delicious breakfast was the perfect way to start our long journey back home. Wish we had of started our vacation there as we would have stayed more than one night The location was fantastic—we could walk everywhere along the oceanside boardwalk. We highly recommend staying here and can't wait to return!

Loved going to the ice cream vendor down the street as well. The B and B was close to downtown so you can walk most places. The owners were friendly and helpful. Lovely garden too.

Es war eine persönliche Atmosphäre, die Zimmer waren bei niedrigen Außentemperaturen beheizbar, frieren musste man nicht. Das Frühstück war selbstgemacht, einfallsreich, ausgefallen und in jedem Fall ausreichend, auch für einen großen Hunger. Nette Unterhaltung mit anderen Gästen beim gemeinsamen Frühstück, wurde von uns sehr geschätzt.

Only (tiny) “compliant” was that the pillows were a little bit hard, but that is to be expected. Everyone has different pillow preferences.

We had to leave the inn much earlier than their scheduled breakfast time, but they left us yogurt with fruit and muffins on the table to our delight. They also helped us to modify our trip to Newfoundland so that we can travel safely to the land of moose. We were grateful for their advice.

History and modern standards come together here: we sleep very well, everything you could want for a night's stay is provided, the bathroom is very good, as are the beds. The hosts make sure you get your hot coffee in the evening. And in the morning, they conjure up an excellent breakfast, which we can enjoy in the salon with other guests, with whom you can strike up a casual conversation in this wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the immediate surroundings are not entirely quiet. Due to the one-way street system, cars drive past below and above the house, “practically outside your room.” This is not disturbing if you have the windows closed, you just need to be aware of it. It's also great that there is plenty of free parking and you are only a few meters from the sea.

Reviewed Sep 30, 2025I liked the vintage furnishing, the attention to detail and the outdoor seating around a fire pit (even though we didn’t use them). The breakfast in the dining room was excellent. It was great being close to the walkway and restaurants.
Although it was fine for us, the smallness of the bathroom could be a significant challenge for people with mobility issues or who are larger. Also our room was pretty close to the road and it’s noise.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2025Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt bei Brenda und George. Die Unterkunft liegt im Zentrum von Pictou, nur wenige Gehminuten von den Geschäften und Restaurants entfernt. Man kann direkt an der Unterkunft auf einem privaten Parkplatz parken. Unser Zimmer war hübsch eingerichtet, sehr sauber und hatte alles, was man benötigt. Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich lecker und alles ganz frisch zubereitet. Es gab sogar frisch gebackene Blaubeer-Scones. Brenda und George waren sehr freundliche Gastgeber!
