Reviewed Sep 13, 2026Period charm. Excellent host Phillip who was very attentive. He was also very invaluable knowledgeable of the area giving tips on short cuts and interesting places to visit. Breakfast at communal area gave chance to meet different people from different countries. Breakfast Excellent and plentiful. Good parking. Lovely hotel restaurant Caseys serves excellent food within 10 minutes walk.
The bedrooms are all on first floor and no handrail could do with something at top of stairs. D

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026One of our party had a mechanical issue whilst we were there, the hosts were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us get this rectified. I cannot recommend them highly enough and we will definitely return to Druid Cottage.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026We wish we could have stayed more than just one night! The cottage is wonderful, it’s just a 10-minute walk from the town centre and the owners are fantastic people! The room was lovely and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast (shared with the other guests) was fantastic!!

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026The nights and breakfast at the Druid Cottage were really comfortable. Philip as our host was very kind and funny and had wonderful tips making our tours in the area more special. The rooms are clean and tidy and have a personal touch - it all feels very sweet and welcoming. Kenmare city center is just 10 minutes by foot and in front of the Druid cottage is a big parking space if you come by car. All in all we can recommend the Druid Cottage. Thank you Philip!

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026We loved everything. Sweet Irish B&B. Close to everything , but in a quiet area. Phillip, host, was truly a gentleman. Knowledgeable, funny, and the perfect host. Breakfast was in the sunroom and we were fed and treated like royals, even if we were walkers on the Way!

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026Wir haben hier die letzte Nacht während unserer Wanderung des Kerry Ways verbracht. Wir hatten einen angenehmen Empfang durch den Inhaber und konnten unser Gepäck bereits vor dem Check-In abgeben. Wir haben hilfreiche Tipps zu Badestränden, Pubs und lokalen Sehenswürdigkeiten erhalten. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, die Dusche erfrischend und die Betten sehr bequem. Man läuft zwar gute 15 min bis ins Zentrum von Kenmare, hat dafür aber einen idyllischen Ausblick und eine Unterkunft mit besonderem Charme. Die gesamte Unterkunft war sauber und das Frühstück reichhaltig und lecker.
Wir haben keinen Haartrockner gefunden, ging dank gutem Wetter dann aber auch ohne. :-)

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026I must freely admit that this review is dramatically effected by the recent heat wave in Ireland. No one expects temps at 30°C on the Wild Atlantic Way. Very few lodgings anywhere in the country have air conditioning, and this one is no exception. Our room was very hot all night long, with no way to move air. Having the window open as far as we could did little to help. This heat wave is not what you want to hear about. The biggest issue is the stairs. They are narrow, with each step being quite tall. Add to that, THERE IS NO HANDRAIL! If you are a middle-aged to senior traveler and you may have balance issues, find another lodging. This is not for you. Trying to carry even small bags is hazardous. The rooms are quite small. The bed is good, but the pillows are flat. The bathroom is tiny. The shower has a flow problem. The breakfast, served in the glass conservatory next to the house, was quite good. Several choices, and well executed. The proprietor was quite friendly, with a very dry sense of humor. I can only recommend this lodging for able-bodied, younger travelers.

(Vielleicht hatte sie auch einen schlechten Tag.. ) Das Zimmer roch sehr unangenehm nach Feuchtigkeit und altem Teppich. Im Badezimmer war überall Schimmel an den Wänden, Lavabo... Die Bettwäsche wirkte nicht richtig sauber gewaschen. Allgemein war alles sehr feucht. Das Lavabo war nicht sauber und der WC-Rand war bereits gelb, zudem lag überall Staub. Insgesamt leider sehr unhygienisch und daher nicht zu empfehlen.
