This is an elegant small house with total privacy. It’s like being at home away from home. The breakfast is delicious, it’s very cosy. If you need some rest and relaxation, this is a perfect space.

Its like being resident of Bruges for a weekend if you stay here. Breakfast is freshly served in a basket every morning and by fresh I mean truly fresh. Superb quality breakfast! Variation was very welcome too, every morning there was different, but equally great foodtypes like croissaints and buns. The bedroom is airconditioned, wich is a huge bonus. I really felt at home here in the city because of this little house. The location is perfect: right in the city centre, just a few minutes walk to the shopping streets and cafés. Its a cute little house that felt very cozy. It also has a small outside patio with seating for 2. Its perfect for couples, very romantic. The hostess is extremely friendly, privacy minded and personal, we got a handwritten card thanking us for our stay, just as an example.

The couch is a little small for 2, considering its romantic nature, a bigger, soft, cozy couch would suit it a little better. As opposed to the small couch and 2 chairs it has now.

Maryke and her husband Philippe are exceptional hosts who have thought of everything. Arriving to a beautiful cottage with homemade cake, a stocked fridge with water, cheeses, prosciutto, bacon, butter, jams and eggs was a lovely surprise. The daily breakfast delivery of pastries, juices, smoothies etc were a true delight, as was the never ending supply of coffee pods. Maryke was extremely helpful with any questions and asking if there was anything else we needed. Possibly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Thank you Brooke and Hamish

Lovely well appointed ‘oasis’ just a short walk from the heart of Bruges. Clean,comfy and stylish with all things needed for a homely stay including a delicious breakfast delivered each morning. Very peaceful area, the chance to park our car and leave it secure on site most welcome. Nice to meet the host, good arrival instructions and directions with a wealth of local info provided.

The cottage was in a great locaion. It was comfortable and tastefully decorated with a beautiful court yard. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The host was wonderful. We were allowed to check in early and leave our bags in the cottage after checkout until we left at 1.30 which was very helpful.

I was surprised that we were not allowed to use the oven and or do any cooking. However, the excellent hostess explained the reasons and told us where we could buy good takeaways and meals from the local deli. We could use the microwave and frying pan for breakfast which worked out well.

This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at. Our host, Maryke, was wonderful! She was so friendly and welcoming. Every morning, she brought us the most delicious homemade breakfasts. Each day was a new surprise and they all tasted great! We even had enough food each day to make lunches to take on our excursions. The property was very clean and quiet. It was also in a great location. Easy walking distance to everything. I highly recommend that you stay at this property if it is available. You won't regret it!

This was a fantastic accommodation with easy access to shopping, the canals, and all the attractions of Bruges. Our host was phenomenal. She provided us each day with fresh baked goods and breakfast items, and a wealth of information that helped us navigate the city and take in the sights and foods we wanted to experience.

Maryke are host was simply outstanding. Good communications prior to the visit and the perfect host throughout. Maryke is a font of all knownledge. On arrival an excellent explanation by our host. The fridge was full of meats, cheeses and water. The breakfast delivered every day was exceptional. This is a gem of a location, if you are visiting bruges. De ligging, de rust, het lekkere ontbijt en de gastvrijheid van de gastvrouw. Het was ook erg handig dat we op wandelafstand van het historisch centrum verbleven.

De zetel was niet zo comfortabel en het bed was voor mij wat te hard. Tip: misschien een topmatras voorzien voor wie het bed wat te hard aanvoelt.

Very beautiful, serene, creative decor. Spacious and comfortable. Great location: peaceful, yet no more than a few minutes from major museums; the centre only a short, lovely walk away. Fab breakfast, with all sorts of possibilities available and delightful home-made treats. Huge bed. Thoughtful, informative, helpful landlady, who made efforts to accommodate our dietary/health needs and allowed us to leave our luggage past the already generous check-out time. Even the coffee table books were superb. I doubt you could do better in the whole of Bruges.

Ummm. Nope. Really nothing. Almost nothing. Ok - I suppose a sofa that never had feathers would have been better than one temporarily adapted to remove the feathers (I'm allergic). But for most people that wouldn't be an issue. And it was still comfortable, as adapted.

If you’re reading these reviews wondering whether to book the Herring Residence, just do it! The location is so central, yet the Residence is tucked away and peaceful. It’s a haven of tranquility and style, with the very warmest of welcomes from Maryke who is such a charming and kind host. We felt completely cared for and spoiled, and the breakfast delivery and delicacies were so special and memorable. We would love to return one day to this truly unique and special place!

Everything about the property was wonderful. The location, the facilities withing the apartment, and the cleanliness. the host was absolutely wonderful and friendly, and the breakfast she provided was nothing less than exceptional.

The breakfast was freshly delivered at a time that was convenient to us, with the flexibility of making our own hot portions which was also very much appreciated. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials, including coffee and tea, which made relaxing at the home very easy.

I had an amazing stay.Not only was the accommodation beautiful,breakfast tasty but Maryke was so hospitable and really helpful to me when I had to navigate a few bumps that arose on my trip.

This is much more than a B&B, it's an oasis in the centre of Brugge. Maryke was an excellent host; she offered recommendations for activities. Each morning, she brought fresh bread, fruit salad, yoghurt, juice, and danishes to go along with the cheese, meat, and eggs already available.

The location and the accommodations were excellent. Parked the vehicle in the covered garage and walked everywhere we wanted to go visit. Maryke the owner/host was exceptional in her customer service and welcoming skills. She was attentive to our needs and was always available if we needed her. The breakfast servings brought to our table each day were homemade, fresh and tasted fantastic. A pleasure to visit and stay at the Herring Residence. My spouse and I will hopefully return again in the future. Thank you Maryke.. Well done.

The interior design has an amazingly peaceful and warm atmosphere. It’s even more beautiful in real than in the pictures. Also clean and functional. The hostess is very attentive and in the mornings she left high quality food at the door in a basket.

An absolutely wonderful stay. We can't speak highly enough about the cottage or Maryke. The cottage was so comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was located in a quiet street close to the center. Maryke was such a charming, helpful and friendly host, bringing us amazing breakfasts each morning, even doing so early to help fit in with our touring and travel pans. A highlight of our recent vacation.

We could not have been more pleased with this property. The house was tucked out of the way, private, and quiet but also just a minute from many of the most fabulous spots in Bruges. The property was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and every room was well equipped. Maryke, our host, was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was available when we needed her but we had total privacy at the same time. Our daily breakfast was a true highlight of the trip. Fresh juice, fresh, local pastries, yogurt, fruit - every morning was a delight. Would give this house 100 stars if I could! All of the people that we met were lovely. Highly recommend wandering the town and getting lost on some of the side streets. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best when the crowds have died down. (Although it wasn't as crowded as I had feared.) Also recommend a bike ride to Sluis. Eat the Kip (chicken) baguette at Le Jardin. OMG. So good. Climb the belfry first thing or at 6/6:20. - fewer people.

We really enjoyed privacy and coziness of the residence. The cottage is very clean and it includes all kitchen appliances and tableware. The design of the residence gives you a good sense of Bruges history and very nicely and artistically done. The residence provides good fresh breakfast in a basket of fruits, juices and pastries delivered every morning. We appreciate kind recommendations of the owner that made our tourists sights and restaurant choices so much easier. Thank you very much!

The Herring's Residence is a beautifully renovated cottage. It was impeccably clean, comfortable, quiet and within easy walking distance to all Bruges has to offer. The breakfast supplies were absolutely superb. Fresh bread, fruit, fruit juice and pastries were supplied every morning along with eggs, a selection of cheeses, meats, home made preserves & yoghurt. We absolutely loved our stay here.

That we had to leave!

Our expectations were exceeded by orders of magnitude. The house is in the very center, but in a side street, which is very quite even in the touristic rush hours. Should that be not enough, the house is in the backyard, which is just silent. Maryke the landlady, is like from the fairy tale, really a nice person in every aspect. Concerning food: you get full fridge of selected cheeses, ham, homemade jams, eggs etc. Every morning you get a basket of fresh bread, pastry, juice and some surprise. The house (yes, you get the whole 3 story house just for yourself) is a historic one but very tastefully restored and equipped.

A perfect property. The Herrings residence is an absolutely magical find. Gentle jazz playing on arrival with a homemade apple cake on the side, a warm cosy cottage oozing charm, it was a memorable and pleasurable experience from start to finish. The property is stylish, relaxing, welcoming, comfortable, private and spotless! We loved being so close to the centre of Brugge, within a few minutes walking distance to so many beautiful sights,and yet it was a peaceful, quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle only minutes away. The hosts were welcoming and the breakfasts provided were delicious and plentiful. Fresh pastries and bread delivered daily, beautiful cheeses, meats, freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade granola, jams, fresh fruit, yogurts and bacon and eggs stocked in the fridge ready to be cooked at your leisure. Our host gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants and advised us of places to visit. A private and secure parking space was the cherry on the cake and gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. There is nothing to dislike about our stay other than it wasn’t long enough. We hope to return to Brugge one day and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else other than this beautiful cottage. We really can’t rate our stay highly enough, a perfect stay, in a perfect place making a perfect few days away.

The accommodation was perfect, very beautiful and we loved the old beams and original features. It had everything we needed and had a real feel of quality about it. Our host, Maryke, was very friendly and happy to share local knowledge which we appreciated. As others have mentioned the breakfast food is delicious and plentiful, and we really enjoyed the homemade apple cake left for us on arrival. The area is very quiet and peaceful, but ideally located for exploring the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future!

What an amazing place to stay! The location was fabulous, right in the historical centre and yet it was so peaceful and quiet. The breakfasts were sensational and such a lovely idea to have a basket of treats delivered each morning. Maryke was a wonderful hostess and made our Silver wedding stay very special. The homemade cake was such a welcome treat after a long day travelling and the homemade preserves were delicious. There were also fabulous restaurant recommendations. The accommodation is so very stylish and a true gem. We look forward to returning!

The location is just perfect! It's a beautiful apartment nearby everything in Bruges. Even though it was centrally located I could not believe how QUIET it was. The breakfast and food provided by the host was just amazing. We ate well for every breakfast, but also were able to stretch the food for some snacks throughout the stay. It really helped to cut down on food expenses (which are quite high)! The bed was so so comfortable. The apartment is on 3 floors with living room and kitchen on the ground level. Bedroom and bathroom upstairs and an additional sitting area on the top floor. The host was incredibly gracious and helped to show us areas of the city to explore on the map when we arrived. You will not regret staying here!

We didn't find the sofa in the living room to be very comfortable. But not a deal breaker at all.

There really is nothing to dislike about this property. The staircase is a little steep so could be a problem for less abled people.

I organised a stay here for my sister’s 40th, with her husband. It was such a warm welcome. Outstanding. Cleanliness. The amazing breakfast basket both days was so appreciated. The fridge full of beautiful food and the place was so cosy. When we got there, we were recommended places to eat and highlighted all different places to visit, which really helped. When we were leaving, we could leave our bags to collect later on and ordered us a taxi - Hostess with mostess. Thank you!

The breakfast was prepared with care, fresh bread arrived every morning and the fridge was well stocked with a variety of cheese, home made marmelade and meat, We enjoyed the privacy of the accommodation and with the whole of Brugge within walking distance we had a great time.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at B&B Herrings Residence during my trip to Bruges, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. First and foremost, the location of the B&B is absolutely perfect. Tucked away in a quiet street, it offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city center, while still being conveniently close to all the main attractions. Exploring Bruges from this charming B&B was an absolute delight! The settings of the B&B are truly enchanting. The apartment is tastefully designed that strike the perfect balance between modern comfort and traditional charm. There was always a sense of tranquility and serenity that made my stay truly unforgettable. Maryke the owner has decorated this place with a lots of love, heart and care.

This house is soooo stylish, tasteful, cozy and comfortable. The weather while we visited was VERY rainy, but we felt so lucky for the refuge of this house to warm up and dry off, and we were 100% happy waiting out the rain sometimes because it was so lovely. Maryke is a very kind hostess, the fridge is well stocked with meats, cheeses, yogurts, jams etc, and the basket of fresh breakfast items delivered each morning is the final, perfect detail. The location also could not be any better. We loved it.

There is absolutely nothing negative to say! (Just be aware, the stairs are small and steep if you travel with large luggage, or have difficulty climbing stairs).

The Herring’s Residence has so much going for it. On top of the great location and wonderful accommodations, the proprietor is a very gracious host. She delivers fresh bread & pastries each morning to you, along with fresh squeezed juice and fresh fruit. Upon arrival, the refrigerator was stocked with other goods for breakfast— multiple cheeses and meats, water, milk, butter & eggs. Also, parking included. I highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Superb all round. Absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean, extremely comfortable, tastefully decorated cottage that is both an oasis of peaceful privacy and right in the heart of the city. The hosts are really lovely, so welcoming, Maryke couldn't do enough to ensure our comfort and offered recommendations of places to visit etc. The breakfast was wonderful, we have never had anything like it, we looked forward to it every day, Maryke knows some excellent bakeries! There's also secure car parking should you need it. It's a cross between a self-catering cottage and luxury B&B. It's just the perfect place to stay if you want the calm and comfort of a cosy cottage with an incredible city centre location.

The accommodation was amazing. I had not expected such a lovely little house. Tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The breakfast provided, fresh every morning was delicious and a real treat. 😋 We contacted the owner of the residence to make her aware of particular dietary requirements and she went out of her way to accommodate them. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend.

There was absolutely nothing we didn't like. It may be useful though to contact guests ahead of time to tell them how to find the cottage as it is set back from the street. It would probably also be useful to know that the stairs in the house may make it unsuitable for people with mobility issues.

Great quite location near to the city market and de Halve Maan brouwerij :-). Nicely arranged and clean small house with three floors. Very friendly owner Lady, respectful to the guests privacy.
