Reviewed Jul 6, 2026Carol and Nigel were wonderful. The apartment was beautiful and cozy. Breakfast was restaurant quality and the conversation warm and friendly. The grounds and house were peaceful with breathtaking views and Nigel shared his harvest of grapefruits with us. We will cherish our time there in NZ.

Reviewed Jan 24, 2026Megaschöne Lage etwa 2km vor Russel. Extrem nette Gastger und tolles Frühstück. Es fehlte an nichts im Appartment und alles war sehr liebe- und geschmackvoll hergerichtet. Wir waren erst enttäuscht, dass wir nicht mehr im Duke of Marlborough in Russel unterkommen konnten. Am Ende waren wir froh, denn im Pukeko Nest war es viel schöner!

Tea towel for dish drying. A stool or shelf in the bathroom would have been helpful.In light of the heavy rain we had a little shelter at the door would be good, while unlocking the door. Not a problem of course in good weather.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2024We ended up having to take our toddler and the hosts didn’t even bat an eyelid but asked if we needed an additional mattress for her. So kind and accomodating. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. The room was super cozy and warm and had everything we needed. The hosts were so pleasant and we could tell they genuinely cared about their guests. Will definitely stay again!

Eclectic art and comfortable furniture. Two well behaved and lovely smallish dogs :) . Nice outside furniture.

It is about a 5 minute drive to the town of Russell. So we had to drive to the shops and restaurants. It meant we were in a very quiet and relaxing area though.

The location, being over 2 km out of town, was a little inconvenient as driving was the only option for going out for dinner at night. Up side of the location was scenic views and serenity!

Reviewed Feb 12, 2023The breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Room was very comfy, clean and tidy. The owners were friendly and very cooperative as far as recommending eating out in Russell. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
The waste drain from the shower was very slow. I pointed this out to Nigel. It was probably a partial blockage but Nigel said he would rectify it.
