Chickens were cool

The staff, the non potable water (it was disgusting), the whole place is very run down.

It was a great stay perfect for the night we stayed comfortable beds 😊 owners amazing would definitely go there again with a bigger group of us thank you

There were much power plugs to charger devices but overall it was great 😊

Our studio cabin had a strong unpleasant smell which kind of ruined the experience. I should have asked if we could have moved.

Lage und die seltene Möglichkeit Kiwis in der freien Natur zu beobachten. Der Campingplatz ist sehr schön gelegen und verfügt auch über eine tolle Zeltwiese. Wir hatten zu dritt ein einzelnes Häuschen mit Bad und Küche gemietet.

Das Häuschen war deutlich kleiner als die angegebenen 65m², es war nicht wirklich sauber und instandgehalten, Einrichtung und Küche sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen, für Gebotenes definitiv deutlich zu teuer, aber trotz allem hattenn wir einen angenehmen Aufenthalt auch weil das Anwesen schön liegt und der Aussenbereich einen gewissen, wenn auch morbiden, Charme und eine gewisse Lauschigkeit geboten hatte.

too expensive for a cabin

We paid a lot more than was expected as there were extra charges when we arrived in the facility which is not clearly advertise in the website. Some facilities were not working and close during our stay which was disappointing. The most expensive accommodation we paid so far and didn’t meet our expectation.

A chance to hear kiwis make some noise

Did not realize you had to pay for shower. Also, water is rationed. Not exactly a room with shared toilet

The place needs repair, showers leaking water. Toilet seat keeps coming off. Blinds are buggered. Couch filthy dirty. Mattresses old need replacing. Cabin requires cleaning underneath.

Replace mattresses. Repair toilet seat. Repair shower. Get couch cleaned.

Hospitalist was informative inviting and hosts were excellent with my kids and kiwi hunting and my sons ADHD he was out with his red light Was an awesome experience

Cabins was clean in comfortable. Loved the location and the pool.

Grass just got cut before we got there. It got trampled into the cabins constantly. No boat washing facility.

L’accueil est très bien, le logement est bien situé, doté d’une piscine, que nous n’avons eu l’occasion d’utiliser car beaucoup de sites à faire. Léa chambre est très bien et le lit très confortable.

Shower and toilet a little old

We’ve stayed at quite a few of the Holiday Parks and this one was by far the best from the cabin to the staff! All excellent

The shower and toilets were clean shower pressure was great easy to find our cabin . Heater in the cabin is very useful . 2 towels were available.

Our room smelt like it hadn't been aired out for awhile , Didn't have a tv like shown in the pictures on the website , woulda been good to have a bug spray or some kind of bug zapper in the room . Wifi was 500mb a day then had to pay $5 for extra . Other than that everything else was okay.

This is such a lovely retreat, all credit to manager Kelly and her family. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and it was much appreciated. The refurbished rooms were nice, clean and warm and the private shower was awesome. We had an awesome time and were lucky to see two kiwi on the grass near the bush even though it was raining, and we heard lots more. It was really magical!

The staffs were very friendly and accomodating and hospitable

The smell of the sofa smells urine,the cupboard is old and needs repairs,curtains doesn’t fit with the width of the door . The floors are creeking when you walk,the blankets are old. The deck is with chicken poops.The wifi is short period only.

Very reasonable cost, good size room, lots of native birds around the place. We practically had the place to ourselves so could hang out in the dining/lounge area as long as we liked. Great value for money.

The walk around to the men's showers was badly lit at night.

Absolutely loved our stay! If my partner could take the swimming pool with him; he would have! Definitely coming back within the next year for a Mum & Dad getaway so hopefully we catch the Kiwi this time around. Loved the whanaungatanga from the staff. Nga mihi!!

Loved the surroundings. Very peaceful and relaxing

The heater, the cottage was well appointed, the secret room was loved by the children, the bathroom was good, water pressure and heat was great. And seeing kiwi was awesome!

The flies in the cottage! Really yuck. The TV didn't work, we weren't told the internet logon. A couple of bunk mattresses were almost non-existent.

Not clean enough, Daily limit on internet like about 200 meg, 5 mins shower limit, Dirty barbecue area coz of chickens.

The beds were incredibly comfy. The rooms had everything we needed with a little fridge, jug and heater. Very quiet location. There are kiwi there but we slept all through the night with the kids.

They can't help it, but the road noise can be a bit loud

Likes-The staff were friendly and helpful. The unit was in a nice location. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. Dislikes- The unit had no inside chairs, only a small fold up table. The front deck had another small f/u table, but the fold up chairs were old and problematic. No tv, no aircon, no milk for drinks. The shower drain hole was in the wrong place in the top corner and water flowed to the lowest point near the entry point and out into the bathroom.

Lovely people into the environment big time. The bed was comfortable but there were no blankets, sheets at extra cost, no bedside table, no lamp, and no hot water in the shower.

The atmosphere, friendly people and staff, cleanliness , the night time kiwi walk, the pool. Shower pressure was great, toilet facilities were clean.

We could upgrade our cabins very easily and were met by a delightfully friendly and helpful reception staff! Loved the new pool and the highlight was seeing 3 kiwi roaming around the back of the park at 10.30pm!

The carpark was free (always a bonus) although it was a bit tight if two cars needed to be parked by the cabins. Personally, I'd love a small UHT milk than having packet creamer in the room.

Building was lovely and done up.

Microwave and tv didn't work, but in saying that I would stay again.

Nice, clean cabin. We stayed here before doing the Cape Brett walking track. Very comfortable. Friendly host. Great value for money.

Fantastic new big swimming pool. Beautiful bush setting only 5 minutes drive from Russell.

Cleanliness, friendly staff and we got up close and personal with two kiwis in the camp ground in two nights at a row!

Filtered drinking water would be nice

I would have preferred to pay a few extra dollars when booking for a night, instead of having to look for $2.00 coins at 7am when the office was close. Also, our bed stunk of body odour, very unpleasant smell. Outside our tiny cabin smell of urine.
