Reviewed Apr 6, 2026Sensational location & views over the sound. Hot tub bliss even in the rain(there was a lot of rain) Fireplace..even in autumn, with abundant firewood. Essentially everything. Beautiful tiny NZ lodge.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026Communication was great with the owner, friendly property managers that went above and beyond took our booking even though they didn't take same day reservations. The location was private and peaceful and the views were stunning The facilities were top notch and had everything you could possibly need. We had the best experience and holiday after a busy weekend I can't fault anything at all the spa was warm on arrival too. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with our family 😁

The host was welcoming and quick to response to queries (not that we had many). A short drive to Russell. On a cloudless night the night sky is breathtaking.

The house is beautiful and was always warm with it's modern heating. Fully equipped and fulfilled every need, The Top House Lodge ticked all boxes for a wonderful getaway.

Reviewed Jul 7, 2024The Top house was truely an incredible stay! The property managers did an amazing job keeping the place nice and tidy, and left a number for us to call if we needed anything. The property was sooo luxurious, and the views were amazing. This property is super remote, so just be prepared to drive down the long driveway. Overall just the perfect getaway from the city!
Some curtains in the lounge room could've helped create a more homely feel.

Reviewed Jun 21, 2024This was the most amazing property. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left we had a fabulous time. The views from the house were so beautiful and ever changing with the light of the day we almost didn't want to go anywhere. The property was incredibly clean and well appointed and the host generous with information about things to do in the surrounding area. The bed was incredibly comfortable too.
There was absolutely nothing that could have been better.
