Reviewed Apr 1, 2026Charming cabins with everything you need for a stopover before visiting the safari park. Breakfast is fresh and filling, the pool is clean, and I recommend you book your safari driver through the hotel - we didn’t, our island driver arranged ours and it cost more.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026We did the safari organised by the hotel which was great. Good aircon and large room, large pool.
There were a few things we didn’t love and we wouldn’t stay here again - firstly upon arrival the aircon and mini fridge in the room were off so the room was really hot. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast after our safari - we were asked to pre order our meals (which we found was not unusual at smaller hotels in Sri Lanka) however food was at dinner and breakfast was cold / clearly not fresh and we weren’t offered drinks. There is no air con in the restaurant (the restaurant is new so assuming they may install air con in the future) and lots of flies. At breakfast we explained we don’t eat diary / eggs as we are vegan and were served eggs.

We had a morning safari booked with a separate company, but the hotel gave us a packed breakfast to take with us which was a nice touch. They also understood and catered well for dietary requirements (gluten free) for the breakfasts which was much appreciated. The rooms were clean and comfortable with aircon and huge bathrooms. The hotel also has a lovely pool with sunloungers to relax on.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026Het zwembad en de kamer waren top! We hadden een eigen mini huisje rond het zwembad op een kleinschalige locatie. De kamer was ruim met binnen ook nog een bankje om te zitten. Ook de safari was goed geregeld! Voor de safari kregen we bananen, crackers en water mee en na de ochtendsafari kregen we uitgebreid ontbijt.
Er waren wat kiertjes in het huisje waardoor muggen/insecten/gekkos binnen konden komen maar door de klamboe was dit geen probleem.

Reviewed Mar 21, 2026Wir waren eine Nacht in der Unterkunft für eine Safari im Udawalawe Nationalpark. Die Safari wurde vom Hotel organisiert und hat reibungslos funktioniert. Danach gab es noch ein leckeres Frühstück, insgesamt eine sehr positive Erfahrung! Die Anlage und die Häuser sind toll eingerichtet. Der Pool bietet Möglichkeit zur Entspannung vor und nach der Safari. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Nichts zu erwähnen, alles positiv.

Reviewed Mar 19, 2026Das Zimmer im 1. Stock war groß und hatte einen tollen Ausblick in die schöne Anlage und auf den großen Pool. Das Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich. Die organisierte Safari war unglaublich schön und wir haben viele Elefanten gesehen.

Reviewed Feb 13, 2026Beautiful small resort by the national park with a lovely pool to relax in, great room and lovely staff that went out of their way to help us every time we needed anything, even letting us check in early when we arrived from the airport. We booked a safari with them as well, a great experience with a really good driver/ guide and good value.
The shower didn’t provide much hot water, but that’s a minor thing considering the location.

Het linnen, zowel van het bed als de handdoeken waren niet zo fris, veel vlekken en gaten. Verder was het eten niet heel erg lekker. Prima, maar niet heel lekker in vergelijking met andere srilankaanse ontbijtjes en avondeten. Voor deze prijs vonden we dat het linnen wel echt op orde moest zijn

A quelques pas de la rue principale où plusieurs restos pour dîner. Bon petit déjeuners copieux. Ils nous ont organisé un safari au dernier moment à notre arrivée ! Nous avons vu plein d'éléphantaux. Dommage que certaines voitures s'approchent trop près...

Reviewed Jan 6, 2026Besonders gut gefallen haben uns das sehr große Zimmer sowie die hervorragende Sauberkeit der gesamten Unterkunft. Auch die Pool-Anlage ist äußerst gepflegt, sehr sauber und ein echter Blickfang. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist die Möglichkeit, die Safari im Udawala-Nationalpark direkt über die Unterkunft zu buchen. Die Organisation war unkompliziert und hervorragend: Man wird direkt von der Unterkunft abgeholt und nach der Safari auch wieder dorthin zurückgebracht. Als kleine Empfehlung für andere Gäste würden wir raten, die Safari in einer Gruppe zu buchen, da so die Anzahl und Frequenz der Trucks im Nationalpark reduziert werden kann. Insgesamt eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft mit gutem Service und durchdachten Angeboten für Ausflüge.

Personnel agréable et attentionné. Dîner sur place de qualité avec buffet typiquement sri-lankais (riz, poisson, poulet). Piscine et cadre très sympathique, idéal pour se détendre après un safari.
Rien de majeur à signaler, l’hôtel a répondu à nos attentes.

La piscine est très belle et l’endroit est proche de la nature. La réservation du safari était facile et le safari en lui-même était exceptionnel.
En point négatif, la literie n’était pas du tout agréable et le système de douche était compliqué à utiliser

THEY CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION ON THE DAY. We booked the day before while planning our one-night trip to Udawalawe and chose this place because it looked great in the photos. However, on the day of arrival, while we were waiting for our taxi, we received a message cancelling our reservation as they had already given the room to someone else and “forgot” to update it on Booking. They offered to move us to another place, but we had no confidence it would meet our expectations, so we were forced to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. Although they apologised, this is extremely disappointing and unacceptable for a professional business. If you are a flexible traveller booking last minute, I strongly suggest avoiding this place.

Reviewed Nov 26, 2025Peaceful location to relax after safari. Close to the elephant transit home well worth a visit! Lovely clean pool, comfortable bed/rooms, hot shower! Recommend eating at the restaurant, tastiest food we tried in udawalawe and nice social set up to meet and chat to other travellers - we wished we could stay longer! Rasika was such a lovely host as well, staff very helpful and arranged onward transport and allowed us a slightly late checkout.
The safari was great seeing lots of elephants and wildlife, but the vehicle was quite worn out with broken seats and not the most comfortable.

Our Sri Lankan breakfasts and evening meal were plentiful and delicious. We booked our safari through the hotel and it was great value. If time allows for your itinerary this is a great stop linked to your safari.

Reviewed Oct 17, 2025De kamers zijn heel ruim en modern ingericht. De badkamer is schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het zwembad is heel groot en schoon, heerlijk om af te koelen na de safari die we via de accomodatie hebben geregeld. We kregen voorafgaand aan de safari wat bananen, crackers en water en bij terugkomst stond het ontbijt voor ons klaar. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en gevarieerd. Alles bij elkaar was het een heel fijn verblijf!
De handdoeken die we kregen waren helaas niet zo schoon en zaten vol met vlekken.

Property is brand new, sparkling clean & extremely comfortable, bed/pillows included. Facility’s pool is a massive bonus. Breakfast was wonderful & plentiful. We also opted to have dinner at the property on the first time, again wonderful. Staff are extremely welcoming & attentive. They organised an all inclusive Safari Tour, which was top notch (additional guide wasn’t required). In addition, they organised a well-priced private driver to the Madunagala Hot Springs. This property is highly recommended.

We were provided with snack box to have early in the morning due to early safari and breakfast was served when we got back and it was great. Such a variety of food. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, carrying bags and even letting us stay a little longer past check in time so we could get showered. Hotel grounds were lovely and pool was amazing especially to go in at until around 21:00

Reviewed Sep 9, 2025L’hôtel est situé proche du parc national. La piscine est très agréable et bien entretenue. Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres et ont tous les équipements nécessaires. Il est possible d’organiser un safari avec l’hôtel +- 50€ par personne, une jeep est venue nous chercher à l’hôtel et nous y a ramener après le safari. Le personnel est très sympa.
Nous avons eu un petit souci avec la chasse d’eau mais celui ci allait être réglé et ne nous empêchait pas d’utiliser la toilette. Le personnel a directement réagit lorsqu’on l’a prévenu.

Er zit niet veel in de buurt dus het hotel bood een diner aan. 6$ p.p. Wij vonden het niet heel bijzonder en hebben beter gegeten in Sri Lanka. Maar dit hotel moet je vooral boeken voor de fijne kamer, zwembad en goede safari

Reviewed Aug 26, 2025Het eten was heerlijk klaargemaakt. Vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam personeel. De kamers waren werkelijk top! Wij hadden een kamer met uitzicht op het mooi aangelegde zwembad. Een mooie uitvalsbasis voor een Jeep-safari. De medewerkers van The Countrysite helpen je er graag bij.
Eigenlijk is ons helemaal niets tegengevallen op deze plaats.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2025Sehr schöne gepflegte Anlage mit tollem Pool. Wir hatten eines der neuen Häuschen und es gab gar nichts auszusetzen. Alles war super sauber, modern und gemütlich. Das ganze Team war sehr freundlich, bemüht und hat tolle Tipps gegeben, was man außer Safari noch machen könnte. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und lecker. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the calm and serene atmosphere. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to promote rest and relaxation. I especially appreciated the soft lighting, cozy bedding, and soundproof environment — it truly felt like a retreat. Whether I was enjoying a cup of tea on the balcony or unwinding in the lounge area, every moment felt calm and rejuvenating. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always respectful of the peaceful environment. It's clear that the hotel prioritizes the comfort and tranquility of its guests. Reviewed Jul 3, 2025The breakfast was plentiful loads of food which kept us going throughout the day safari organised for you great pool great room offer pick ups and drop offs from and to your next destinations we even had our meals there which were also plentiful wouldn’t hesitate to come back here also near elephant orphanage where you can watch the elephants and babies being fed the staff are fantastic and look after you really well
