Nature World Udawalawe

Fantastic place to stay in Udawalawe. Peaceful almost jungle charming setting but walking distance to basic shops and the Elephant Transit Centre. Dim and his wife are charming, generous and welcoming hosts. The food provided for breakfast is fabulous. The dinners are well worth the small cost and are genuine Sri Lankan cuisine. Dim organises great safaris and we had a wonderful time on a half day safari. Thoroughly recommend this place to stay in Udawalawe.

Very quiet and peaceful location. We had it to ourselves the first night so it felt like a private pool. Hosts were extremely nice and generous.

This isn't a criticism, just a fact, but you should bring a flashlight if you expect to walk anywhere after dark. It's over half a kilometre to the main road and it is a bit rough. Not a problem if you are prepared though.

Best kept secret! A wonderful peaceful experience with the most gorgeous hosts. Swimming pool at night time looking at the stars. The garden was lit up at night time and looked like a fairy garden. So beautiful. The outside shower and bathroom with stone walls and plants! Hosts organised the elephant safari with breakfast on return. Thank you Dim! 🙏❤️

The uber driver didn't like picking us up as the road had some large bumps! But this is no fault of the property.

Espectacular. El recinto cuenta con varias casitas muy monas en un espacio natural, con una piscina estupenda para pasar mejor el calor de la zona. La casita cuenta con AC y cama grande y muy cómoda. El baño se encuentra en exterior junto con la ducha, lo que le da ese toque. El personal muy amable y atento, un gusto sin duda. El desayuno riquísimo y muy completo. 100% recomendable.

Nuestra estancia en Nature World fue una experiencia mixta. La ubicación es buena como punto de partida para hacer un safari en el Parque Nacional de Udawalawe y el entorno permite estar muy cerca de la naturaleza y disfrutar de la tranquilidad del lugar. Ofrecen un paquete con todas las comidas incluidas, aunque es importante tener en cuenta que el desayuno, la comida y la cena se sirven en la zona común de la villa, y no en la terraza privada de la habitación. En resumen, el alojamiento tiene una buena ubicación para visitar Udawalawe y el entorno natural es agradable, pero nuestra experiencia fue bastante más básica de lo que esperábamos y algunos aspectos, especialmente el alojamiento y la gestión de los transportes, podrían mejorar.

La habitación nos pareció bastante básica y tuvimos bastantes hormigas durante nuestra estancia. La ropa de cama también podría mejorar: la sábana era básicamente un pareo de playa grande. Además, echamos en falta una nevera. El baño, aunque privado, está en el exterior, cosa que también sería de agradecer saberlo de antemano, porque allí llueve mucho. El propietario tampoco preguntó qué tal fue el safari (gestionado por y de su hotel), no mostró ningún interés más allá de "sus obligaciones" para con los huéspedes. También tuvimos una experiencia poco satisfactoria con los transportes que gestionó el alojamiento. El tuk-tuk que nos recomendaron no resultó tener un precio especialmente bueno, sino más bien lo contrario. Para el trayecto a Galle, una vez dentro del coche, nos indicaron que debíamos pagar el peaje si íbamos por autopista, a pesar de que el precio del trayecto ya se había acordado previamente. Además, el coche era muy pequeño y prácticamente no tenía espacio para el equipaje, algo que habría sido importante saber antes de contratar el trayecto.

Very chilled accommodation, down a dirt road away from the main street. The owners are really trying to build a perfect calm oasis. The hosts were super friendly and helped keep our baby entertained when we ate dinner. They arranged a safari for us and the guide was lovely and we enjoyed it a lot!

Our room had an outdoor bathroom which some people may not like.

Supermooie huisjes op een stukje grond tegenover het huis van de verhuurder. Erg leuk opgezet met een volleybalveld, een zwembad en goede verlichting naar je huisje. Erg leuk, gastheer is ook erg gastvrij en het eten dat hij aanbood was heerlijk!

Het lieve hardwerkende gastvrije gezin met hun dochter. Het zwembad was fijn, zag er erg leuk uit met de gekleurde lampjes. Wij zaten in het houten huisje. Die was wat verouderd dus verwacht daar geen luxe. Hij was wel schoon en een fijne douche. Ze hadden ook nog een luxer huisje op het terrein. We hebben daar een safari geboekt, dit was erg leuk. Onze gids heette Jana en sprak goed Engels en kon veel vertellen en paste de safari aan op onze wensen.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft umgeben von der Natur. Sehr gepflegt und sauber. Super netter und zuvorkommender Gastgeber.

Chambre modeste, l'emplacement est bien pour un passage à Udawalawe notamment pour un safari.

Propreté pas forcément au rendez vous. N'attendez pas forcément de l'eau chaude non plus. Je conseillerais plus les chambres dans le jardin.

We stayed here for one night, the place is quiet, amazing and really very charming. Pool available to cool off, very good dinner and breakfast! The host also offers the possibility of doing the Udawalawe safari under several options and we were able to take advantage of it. Thanks again to Dim and his family for the warm welcome and attention to us!

The price was exceptional, and the safari was well organised. As far as I could find, there was only a small markup - maybe 1,000-2,000 rupees for the safari, which I found reasonable as it included pickup and drop-off at the accommodation, coffee/tea before the safari, and breakfast after.

The property is a far walk from the town, making dining options limited. The onsite restaurant is overpriced.

Very beautiful place, gorgeous garden, the pool was clean, the owner was super friendly (he also arranged us a fair price for the safari), the room was cute and the breakfast was tasty☺️ (PS our room had an outside shower - we liked it, but keep that in mind if you don't want that, but it was clean and had no bugs or anything)

Nice room, clean with good AC. Pool was great and nice garden. Din set up a safari and also onward travel to Ella.

So close to the elephant orphanage. Really nice garden area to chill in and my own balcony. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed was very comfy. I liked the outdoor bathroom too.

We had a wonderful stay!! The place is very well maintained and quite. They have a swimmingpool which is very peaceful, sorrounded by green and nature. . The owners are very nice and friendly. We booked the safari with them and everything went smooth. The room (with AC) was super, very big and clean. Breakfast is very good and tasty! Would totally reccomend. :)

Bedlinnen was niet ververst (alleen opnieuw opgemaakt). Als je met 4 volwassenen of met grotere kinderen in de familiekamer zit wordt het erg krap.

Great stay! The room had really good AC and was comfortable and had a mosquito net. The breakfast was also amazing. What you get for the price is a steal! The host booked the safari for us and it was amazing!

Die Anlage ist sehr schön angelegt und man befindet sich mitten in der Natur. Auch das Außenbad ist etwas Besonderes. Das Frühstück war traditionell srilankisch und die Samosas waren lecker. Die vom Host vermittelte Safari war sehr gelungen.

Wir hatten leider eine sehr große Spinne im Zimmer und es liefen auch einige Ameisen im Zimmer herum. Sonst hätten wir uns aufgrund der Nähe zur Natur sehr über ein Moskitonetz gefreut. Der Host ist einerseits bemüht, andererseits verläuft der Kontakt über WhatsApp etwas aufdringlich, was die Vermittlung der Safari angeht.

The place is incredible. Just 10min walking from Elephant transit home place it in the middle of nature, also with the pool what is good in this hot day. Everything super clean, the owner really helpful, we needed to leave early morning and he prepared for us nice breakfast.

Emplacement agréable, dans un lieu très sauvage. Les hôtes sont très accueillants et proposent l'organisation de safaris, des transports. Lieu très bon marché que je recommande si l'on veut tenter l'expérience d'une cabane en forêt près du marc d'Udawalawa.

Prises électriques de type anglais uniquement (prévoir adaptateur). Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas vraiment.

Eine meiner Lieblingsunterkünfte in Sri Lanka. Unglaubliches Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir hatten eine Blockhütte und den Pool quasi für uns. Der Pool wird häufig gesäubert und gepflegt. Was uns außerdem besonders gefallen hat, war das Badezimmer im Freien. Der Gastgeber ist generell sehr bemüht und hat uns wirklich sehr geholfen. Eine wirklich nette junge Familie! Die Safari muss über den Gastgeber gebucht werden - ich denke dadurch erklärt sich der günstige Preis für die Unterkunft. Das macht aber überhaupt nichts, da die Safari wirklich super war. Der Guide, der durch die Unterkunft vermittelt wird, ist wirklich nett, respektiert die Tierwelt und ist sehr bemüht, ein tolles Erlebnis zu bieten. Bucht unbedingt das Abendessen in der Unterkunft, da es sich schwierig gestaltet, ein Restaurant außerhalb zu finden (wir waren in der Nebensaison hier).

Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce logement, un chalet chaleureux avec sa piscine. Nos hôtes étaient très accueillants, souriants et gentils, dès que nous avions besoin de quelques chose il a pourvu à tous nos besoins. Nous organisant un safari, nos déplacements en taxi ect… Nous avons pris notre dîner le soir chez eux, c’était excellent, et cela nous a bien fait découvrir la nourriture locale dont nous avons ensuite profité tous notre voyage. Merci à lui et sa famille pour son accueil et cet très agréable expérience !

Diese Unterkunft war ein echtes Highlight unserer Reise. Der Besitzer war unglaublich freundlich, und die Lage im Grünen war traumhaft – wir konnten viele Vögel und kleine Tiere direkt von der Unterkunft aus beobachten. Das Frühstück war das beste, das wir auf unserer Reise bekommen haben, und auch das Abendessen war köstlich und üppig. Besonders toll fanden wir das Outdoor-Badezimmer, wo man beim Duschen den Blick in die Bäume genießen konnte (abends kamen sogar ein paar Frösche vorbei). Einziger Nachteil: Lebensmittel kann man im Zimmer nicht lagern, weil sofort Ameisen auftauchen, und eine Minibar fehlt. Dafür gibt es einen schönen Pool. Wir haben hier auch die Safari gebucht und hatten großes Glück mit unserem Guide Sumudu, der uns sehr viel erklärt, Tierarten in Büchern gezeigt und die Tour sogar verlängert hat. So konnten wir eine Elefantenherde mit Babys beobachten – ein unvergessliches Erlebnis! Mit 25,53 $ für zwei Nächte zu zweit war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unschlagbar. Absolute Empfehlung.

Tout, nous avons adoré notre chambre, clim présente, même la douche en extérieur est confortable. Belle piscine et beaucoup d’activités à côté (filet de badminton, hammac, piscine) La nourriture était excellente et copieuse ! Nous avons également fait un safari juste incroyable ! L’hôte nous a également prévu un chauffeur pour notre prochaine destination. Encore merci !!

Attention juste aux prises type G, nous n’avions pas d’adaptateur pour, mais nous nous sommes débrouillés autrement. Rien à redire c’était top !

Super friendly e gentilissimi!

We stayed in the Coconut House - the room was small but clean with mosquito nets, air con and a fan. We appreciated the balcony. Peaceful location amongst the trees, pool was nice and clean, Dim was a very attentive and helpful host and he provided a very tasty breakfast and dinner. We also booked a safari through the accommodation with Sumudu - he was very informative during the trip and great at spotting and locating animals for us. It was more expensive than other providers in the area, but the service was very good and meal was included.

Note that the road ended about 50m from the property into a dirt road, so tricky with some vehicles.

Przepyszne jedzenie! Super safari, które pomógł nam zorganizować właściciel. Jest tez opcja załatwienia transferu do kolejnego miejsca w podróży - bardzo przydatne. Samo miejsce noclegowe jest idealne do spokojnego wypoczynku na tarasie czy w basenie. Bardzo polecam i chętnie zatrzymałabym się tam jeszcze raz.

The hospitality was great and they offered many different packs to do a safari. The safari itself vas very nice as well and we saw plenty plenty of different animals and elephants. The pool area was very clean and chill
