Hotel Heron Alexandria Old Town, Curio Collection by Hilton

The service and the breakfast that I bought was excellent. I thought the interior design and the room was very well done and I felt very comfortable.

Dinner at Kiln was a highlight. The food was comparable to any fine restaurant in Alexandria—and beyond. Staff were universally friendly and helpful. We would certainly return.

Beds were a little too soft, but that is a personal preference. Not crazy about the online check-in process, but understand it might be a timesaver. We did not arrive or leave at a busy time so it made no difference. We had lived in Old Town for 20 years, so recognize that the location is great. Was disconcerted by the high cost of parking. $45 PLUS tips for bringing up and for parking the car was excessive.

The staff was very helpful and customer focused . Had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was deliciously and our our server Emma was exceptional .

When booking our hotel on booking .com we got a room on the second floor , adjacent the elevator and right on the street .

Front desk

We stayed for nearly a month as we had suffered a small house fire and needed a place nearby. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and competent. The room was quiet and everything worked. The food in the hotel bar and restaurant was excellent (with plenty of dining options nearby if you want to get out of the hotel). It's a pet friendly hotel and they treated our small dog really well.

The wait time for the valet was often very long (20 minutes or more at times) because it appears they were understaffed (and parked the cars several blocks away). However, it's easy to get a ride or use the (free) public buses nearby as well as the DC metro system.

No coffee facilities in room, No hotel information in room. Running down to the reception in morning and trying to handle elevator/cards and hands full of warm coffee in morning is an ordeal I would rather not have gone through.

It was a bit chaotic during our stay as it fell just as they transitioned to new Hilton ownership.

The hotel is on a beautiful location, pretty much waking distance to the major sightseeings. I have to mention how warmly they greeted our puppy. Room was spacious consider being in old town.

Can’t complain much about the hotel as it’s an amazing one. Only strange thing was that not even one bottle of water was complimentary (which is standard in most of the hotels).

Breakfast was very good. The location was a short walk to the waterfront and lots of shops and restaurants but is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle.

Very cute and quirky hotel excited for my next trip back in a few years. Everything else. The view could have been better but it's not like every room can be amazing.

Wifi went out likely as a result of the merger they were working on it and it would come back up occasionally but it was still rough.

Very nice it was convenient to everything we wanted to do.

All of the front desk staff were outstanding. Very clean. Finishes throughout were top notch. Very comfortable room. Location was excellent in Old Town Alexandria. They were so accommodating the whole time. We will be back.

Very convenient location.

The room was a kind of tiny. There was a fire alarm at night. So we get out the room to find out what’s going on but no one was out of room. It turned out a false one though nice to be told.

I was really looking forward to the rooftop terrace, but sadly I couldn’t take my pup. They charged $75 per night for my dog. Disappointing that they didn’t mention the no access for her to the rooftop before checking.

Staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Room was very nice and clean. Location was perfect to get to shops, metro, restaurants and waterfront. I would defintely stay here again.

The roof area was closed for a wedding.. which was a primary reason for selecting it.

Parking was not easy, do not miss that valet is $45 a night and not included in your stay. Our room was in the secondary building and right across from the large HVAC units, so that was rather loud. Overall it felt not worth the price.

Hotel Heron is a new hotel in Old Town Alexandria and is centrally located. The roof top bar has great views and the rooms are well done especially the bathrooms. A delightful place to stay.

My room smelled like smoke for two days horrible fire alarm went off in my room. The rooms are very small. I wasn’t happy with the room . The smell was horrible

Excellent front desk service by Elena and Tristan. Service at the bar at Happy Hour was great. The hotel was just lovely. The rooms were beautiful and all the public areas were decorated beautifully and visually appealing. It will be our only hotel to stay at from now on!

Check-in easy. Front desk staff very clear and helpful. Safe place--need room key to go to your floor. Nice amenities, restaurant staff very friendly. Rooftop is a special place, and will bring us back if ever visiting family. Views are just as spectacular in the daytime as night time. Walking distance to 100 restaurants.

It was a good location. The only thing I didn’t like about this hotel was the $25 service fee for every day. That’s a little excessive.

The shower was not very good, the restaurant was closed after we ordered breakfast to our room. The lobby was unattractive.

Love the hotel, love the drinks...I ordered the catfish and I literally had 3 pieces of catfish the size of shrimp..Kiln burger was horrible as well..staff incredible...please update your menu ...
