The West Gate Posada By Summit

We stayed in your Presidential Suite from 5th to 8th December 2025, and subsequently extended our stay in a Deluxe Room from 8th to 9th December. This stay was meant to be a special celebration of our wedding anniversary, but the experience was extremely disappointing, distressing and far below the standards advertised for your most premium room category, The Presidential Suite with Balcony (Now named Executive room with Balcony) Major Issues Faced: 1. Severe and Persistent Water Supply & Pressure Problems: Immediately upon arrival, we noticed no water pressure in the taps, when my wife was unable to flush the toilet. Housekeeping temporarily adjusted/fixed the motor, but the issue persisted. Throughout the stay, the water pressure continuously fluctuated between extremely low and very high, and at times water supply stopped entirely, preventing us from flushing, hand washing in the sink, or taking a shower. We were unable to take a proper shower for all three days/nights in our Presidential Suite and repeatedly had to call reception/housekeeping to restore water supply especially every morning. During every shower my wife was panicking hoping that the water will not stop or hot water will not run out. Water used to spill everywhere from the hand shower on to the bathroom floor due to frequent/sudden pressure fluctuations causing a slip hazard. 2. Jacuzzi & Amenities Unusable: We could not use the Jacuzzi because the geyser capacity was too small to fill it with hot water. Based on discussions with your Manager, Ms. Prajotka Tamang, it became clear that the management was aware of hot water issues but obviously has failed to address it. This directly contradicts the advertised amenities included in this Presidential suit and your own slogan " Exceptional value, Exceptional services". Ms. Prajotka offered bucketed hot water as a workaround, which was completely unreasonable and unacceptable for a Presidential Suite costing this amount, and also would have compromised our privacy and comfort. The balcony seating cushions were covered in fungus, making the balcony unusable. Even after complaining, they were only partially cleaned. We paid for facilities and comfort that we never received. 3. Multiple Issues With Cleanliness & Hygiene: A dirty chipped mug was provided in the room (photo submitted to reception). My wife found hair inside a juice jar at breakfast on 6th December. Later the same evening, she found hair inside her roti dough at dinner, after which she was unable to continue her meal. 4. Poor Support & Delayed Service: The room blower we requested did not work for two hours on 1st day and was replaced only after repeated follow-ups, finally arriving around 10:30 PM. Every issue required constant calling and visit by housekeeping, adding to the stress during what was supposed to be a peaceful anniversary stay. Throughout our conversation, Manager Ms. Prajotka Tamang acknowledged the severity of the water issue and inability to resolve it during our stay—even if approved by management. We strongly believe that the Presidential Suite has been knowingly and repeatedly sold despite major unresolved faults, which amounts to misrepresentation and cheating of customers. Refund Request: Given the extremely poor experience, unusable facilities, health and hygiene concerns, and emotional distress caused during an important personal occasion, we firmly request a minimum 50% refund of the total booking cost, if not a full refund for the dates 5th–8th December. If immediate resolution is not provided, we will be left with no choice but to escalate the matter further. This experience was extremely disappointing and far below even basic hospitality standards, let alone what is expected from probably one of the highest-priced room category in your hotel chain. I emailed above (most of it) to the GRM@Summit and posted above review on different platforms over 2 weeks ago but strangely have disappeared and no response from the mgmnt till today. Location, Atmosphere, Rooms ans value for money was great. Staffs were cordial helpful and accommodating. Great stay. Will love to come back again.

I had a wonderful stay at Summit West Gate. The staff were extremely courteous, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making the stay very relaxing. The location is convenient and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is warm and welcoming. Excellent service and great hospitality—highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers. I would definitely love to stay here again!

Nice stay for three nights at summit west gate Posada. Well mannered, cooperative and polite staff. View of kanchanganga from balcony of our room was beautiful. The only thing to be suggested is repeatative menu of dinner needs to be changed. Rest things ok. Would like to visit again with family.

Went to Summit West Gate Posada to celebrate my 1st year wedding anniversary with my wife and I am extremely happy about the choice. This hotel is rare in Darjeeling - the ambience, food quality and taste, staff behaviour and professionalism all are according to standards. Would like to especially thank Bhumika madam from the reception who helped us have a great stay right from when I booked the stay. Definitely looking forward to visit again soon.

It was our 1st trip we were in thought that what happens if hotel is not good. But after reaching we realise that hotel was very nice awesome. Staff were very cooperative. They dont charge unnecessary for heater and all. They provided it complementary. Very nice stay.

I stayed at the west inn and overall it was a great experience. Have got a president suite and the treatment was exceeded expectations. Room rent was a little expensive but the staffs treatment was justifying. Recommend

The stay was comfortable and we enjoyed a lot.Room was clean and well maintained .Food was tasty and delicious.Restaurant had a very nice ambience.Their Tea Boutique is a very nice place to enjoy and relax having view of Kanchanjanga.The staffs were truly great and gave great hospitality. We had out stay planned for 2 days and my experience was wonderful . The room was neat and clean and the food was delicious.The hospitality of the staff makes this place even more amazing and worth staying . Overall nice ambience for food and room. Balcony view is mesmerizing. The receptionist,she is amazing with the queries and arranged cab to Siliguri with reasonable rate.

Food and service was excellent. Location was a bit far from the mall. Room was well maintained and tidy. Overall had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend to friends and relatives. Staff i would like to mention Repbommit and Riya from restaurant and Renu ,Sushma and salin from housekeeping gave great experience.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the hotel staff truly caring. A special word of gratitude to Ms. Bhanumathi, Mr. Pranay, and Mr. Saurabh for their timely help and presence of mind when our airport cab could not reach the hotel due to traffic. Their support made all the difference.

We were 9 of us here for an offsite. The staff is excellent - very courteous and attentive. Servjce with a smile! We loved the property - we were able to use the top Floor lounge effectively for our team meetings and fun. Very nice and pleasant stay. For North Indian taste, the lunch and dinner found a bit lacking but the breakfast was very nice. Overall 5 star ratings for this cute property in this cute town!

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The rooms, washroom, reception, and restaurant were all Instagram-worthy. The balcony offered an amazing view of the city and Kanchanjunga. The food was delicious as well. However, what impressed me the most was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. I have never experienced such great hospitality anywhere else. Had an amazing stay at West Gate Posada! The room was spacious with a superb bath tub, the view was stunning, and the food was very tasty. Perfect location near the center. What was exceptional here was their hospitality. A special mention to Ricky, Ayush, Pratham, Sital, Kushal, and Lowang for their exceptional service and kindness. Comfort and Convenience in One Place Summit Westgate is a great place to stay if you want to be near the heart of Darjeeling. The rooms are modern and tidy, with all necessary amenities. Room service was prompt and the staff was very welcoming. Would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely stay in West Gate ,Darjeeling. The hotel has pleasant ambiance and we had a great time here. The room was spacious and clean , the food was delicious and the service was great. The staff took great care of us especially Aman ,Ayus and Repbommit from restaurant deserves special recognition. The Front office staff were pleasant and smiling and gave good service . I stayed at The West Gate Posada By Summit in Darjeeling for 3 nights with family and the experience in the Presidential Suite was truly enjoyable. The spacious suite, complete with a private balcony and jacuzzi, offered a luxurious and comfortable retreat for my wife, daughter, and me. The breathtaking view of Mount Kanchenjunga from the balcony was a highlight, perfectly complementing the modern amenities and tasteful decor. The staff were polite, attentive, and made our stay memorable with their warm hospitality. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The location is hardly 10 min walk away from The Mall. Highly recommend for a special family getaway!

Excellent hospitality and the breath taking Himalayan ranges / Kanchenjunga views were mind blowing. The staffs were always on their toes and assisted in every seconds when needed. Soumptous breakfast. The tea lounge was the best. The sauna & the steam bath was the best experience.

Rooms are good, interiors are awesome, hotel location is good, food is excellent. Best part is staff. Very polite and helpful. Especially repbommit and ricky. Both took special care of my kids. Only one con: plz change the carpet of rooms. Very dirty and full of stains.

The view from our balcony was breathtaking. The room was beautifully decorated with white royal interiors. The staff took care of us demonstrating amazing hospitality - especially Repbommit and Aman. The food was incredible as well! Highly recommend!

The staff are very friendly and helpful However, I would not rate it as 5 star facility I booked presidential suite. Not worth it. Almost $400/ night. No views from the room Description of room had walk in shower. However there was none Jacuzzi was there but takes one hour to fill water. Strange smell in the Jacuzzi Breakfast was very ordinary. Not many options. Certainly not 5 star standard

Just to add a lovely touch to our stay — the property hosted a charming Easter Day celebration during our visit. It was heartwarming to see the effort they put into creating a festive atmosphere, especially for the little ones. There was a fun drawing activity arranged for kids, and they were sweetly surprised with chocolates, cake, and fresh juice. It truly gave us that “home-away-from-home” Easter feeling — thoughtful and memorable in every way.

The location of property is near to market(approx 5 to 6 KM.) Food both veg and non-non veg is excellent. Staff is also very polite and cooperative. They claim that Kanchan jangha is visible from balcony of fourth floor. And if weather is clear we can really see peeks of kanchanjangha. It can be opt without doubt.

The experience of my stay was mixed. Pros: 1. The dishes served by restaurant were tasty. Wide variety of options are offered for both breakfast and dinner. 2. Rooms have premium furnishings. 3. Restaurant staff was very polite and took very good care of us. 4. My four year old son grew very fond of the host. Cons: 1. Room cleanliness is not up to the standard expected from a four star hotel. The rug had many stains on it. Bathroom curtain had mold on it. Three star hotel in Gangtok had cleaner rooms. 2. At the time of checkout. The hotel staff asked us to wait untill they checked the rooms only then did give us the bill. This felt a bit insulting as if we were thieves. 3. They staff asked us to check out at 11:00 am even though the check out time mentioned in the booking mail was 12:00 pm Such behaviour of the reception staff became a spoil sport for us

We had a wonderful stay at Summit West Gate Posada. The room was spotless, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant services were top-notch. The only downside was the water heating system in the bathroom. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for your next travel adventure!

Every thing about the Hotel was very good. The room was clean and having all amenities. We had 24hr hot water in the bathroom. Food was very good. A small advise is that you should add more variety to the b'fast buffet. I felt the choices were a little less. The staff are all very courteous and warm.

We started in room 701 (deluxe) which was very nice but very cold and quite noisy - next to the lift. A heater and electric blanket were an absolute must. To be fair, we had poor weather which contributed to the coldness but we really didn't expect a newish hotel to be so cold and the small electric heater is not adequate for the size of the room. The shower / bath arrangement is strange. There is no shower curtain and the shower water goes down the back of the bath flooding the marble floor and making it extremely slippy / dangerous. Room service was good - decent food, quickish service. However, covering the plates with something before bringing the food from the kitchen to the room would help it to arrive warm. We asked to stay an extra night and were moved to a basement room for a higher price than the deluxe room. It was dark, dinghy and had an absolutely filthy rug. As it was in the basement it was warmer and quieter than room 701. The shower was also more convenient although the wet floor was still absolutely treacherous. The reception staff were excellent - friendly and efficient. The dining room staff appeared to be disinterested. The first night we wanted to eat in the restaurant but gave up trying to order and used room service instead. The restaurant was also extremely cold. Breakfast was ok but the dishes of food were almost all empty and were sparsly refilled only upon request. The gentleman cooking eggs to order was great - friendly, efficient and made nice omelettes. The location is ok - about 20 minutes walk to the town center. Some taxi drivers wouldn't take us up due to the one-way system. The reception staff made a positive difference to our stay but we would not choose this hotel again.

I booked a family room for 3 night with my family. Hotel was new looking good but we had such a bad experience I will never recommend this hotel brand , team was so unprofessional they checked in wrong room , outside temperature was 8 degree and room is inspected room was not hot we had to ask the heater. Hot water never worked we couldn’t take shower we addressed several times but no solution. Elevator never worked and no message for guest .we paid for 5 person but received service amenities and towels for just 2 person even we addressed that we are 5persons no changes. They cleaned the room don’t put the towel when we called to ask they said they received towels late , don’t think important to provide the basic services and communicate. During checkout I forgot my Chanel eye glasses they found but don’t think important to address guest for lost valuable items.The most shocking part was my dad had 50,000 of cash in bag and we said it’s a reputed hotel and trained and educated staff so left our valuable open and it was our fault we trusted and didn’t check during packing for check out, when my dad returned home and unpacking bag he noticed missing 15,000 from luggage bag. I purposely booked hotel like that were we can feel safe and we trusted to leave out belongings it was so shocking for our family that we are not safe even in this kind of property. This all incident disturbed so much my family they will have problem trusting even the property like this it’s so shame.

Very good welcome and room with very high quality and clean. Services are on spot and we all loved food here. Many options in both dinner and breakfast. Specially prepared food for kids as well. It was a one of best hotel that we had so far. I would like to recommend to my and others if they plan a trip for darziling.

Through this review, I would like to garner my praise to "The West Gate Posada By Summit, Darjiling" for making our stay quite enjoyable and comfortable. I loved the aesthetics of the entire ambience from reception, restaurant, rooms and rooftop tea boutique. Only balcony view is not that great, as it opens to many rooftop of many other hotels nearby. My family suite was quite luxurious and it's amenities (Large Google LED TV, Jacuzzi, and electric bed heaters) were just amazing. The service was exceptional, their welcome and farewell gestures were great, room housekeeping and service was wonderful, staff even helped filling the hot water in Jacuzzi with buckets. Breakfast (included in my package) was good, but spread could have been better. Overall, I would say we found the value for money, while staying there.

Welcome at hote was impressive with humble and well mannered staff However while booking the hotel rooms and balcony shown photos on website are misleading - we were at first floor and balcony was not at all of any use Though we had booked for Delux room, it is not clear that premium rooms at on 3/4 floor … so no booking for Delux rooms from online ,, will be a great disappointment

Very clean, comfortable and well-located hotel. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the taxi pick-up for the next leg of our break and the staff were incredibly supportive and kind and made sure that we were comfortable even though we had checked out.
