Reviewed Jul 19, 2026The worst hotel experience I have had in a long time. I think we were unlucky, but I would still be cautious about this hotel. We experienced unbearable heat in Room 517 despite relatively cool external temperatures. The air conditioning system did not provide any effective cooling and then with the window locked to only open very slightly, we could not ventilate the room. Our stay was extremely uncomfortable and this was unnecessary. Other rooms were available, but only to those who signed up to the loyalty programme and marketing e-mails. It is clear from the range of views expressed in other reviews that some rooms have effective cooling, and some do not. Allocating us a room without effective cooling or ventilation in July is very hard to justify. I would not return or stay in any other Tribe hotel.

You could set the air conditioning, but it didn't work. Probably because it had been turned off for power consumption reasons. We had to sleep in the room at over 26 degrees with the windows open. You don't book a more expensive hotel with air conditioning for that.
