Casa Portuguesa - Charming House

Everything. Especially the host. She was extremely nice and helpful and she prepared early breakfast for us since we were checking out early at 0600.

Nothing.. everything was perfect.

We loved the proximity to restaurants, shops and the marina. The breakfast was amazing every day, and the coffee was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

There was nothing to not like - we liked everything!

Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, sofortige Reaktion, inkl. Sonderwünsche. Super Zimmerservice. Super Einrichting in der Lobby & schöner Balkon. Schöne Zimmer, Schubladen Ablagen fehlen etwas, etwas aus dem Koffer leben. Schön & gediegen ist nicht immer praktisch. Das ist aber so, wenn diese Art Hotels bucht.

Parkplatzsituation ist ander Straße sehr tagesabhänig, teilweise ist warten, oder laufen bzw. bezahlen angesagt. Ist eher nicht geeignet für Kinder.

Clean, quite, close to the downtown. Free street parking was available every day. Daily room cleaning. Excellent breakfast.

Just a personal preference to have some extra hooks to hang towels in the bathroom.

Ein Juwel!! Hier passt einfach Alles! Die Pools, die Zimmer, die Mitarbeiter! Einfach toll🤩 Das Frühstücksbuffet ist großartig, mit selbstgebackenen Kuchen - einfach köstlich!

Het is een prachtig authentiek pand. Hele fijne lieve mensen die je graag willen helpen. Prachtige kamer. Ook heel fijn dat je onbeperkt koffie of thee kon pakken in de hal bij de receptie. Ook een heerlijk zwembad met handdoeken service en een bijzondere jacuzzi.

Het ontbijt was goed voor elkaar. Maar als je er iets langer verblijft dan wordt het wat eentonig. Ik miste wat kastruimte op de kamer.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und einen tollen Pool. Es gibt den ganzen Tag eine kleine Kaffeebar. Das kleine Frühstücksbuffet wird jeden Morgen frisch zubereitet und ist sehr schön gestaltet.

Beautiful place to stay in prime area to walk around Ponta Delgada. Good breakfast and great pool pit back. Rooms were large and beds were comfortable.

The hotel is utterly beautiful. Set only a short walking distance away from the town in a quiet area near a small park. Everything is beautifully clean and decorated in a traditional style. The breakfast selection varied daily and featured fresh fruits, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt,breads and cooked eggs etc The swimming pool and jacuzzi are in a beautiful garden setting. Everything you need is provided. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It is the perfect hotel!!!

The breakfast choices were wonderful. Gabriela was so helpful at the property and very inviting. Pool and jacuzzi were also great; good temperature and clean.

Breakfast, size of room, location, decor and vibe, pool access. We really enjoyed this hotel. No issues finding parking when needed in nearby free lots in July. Highly recommend.

WiFi was spotty in our top floor room

Excellent location within walking distance to marina, restaurants. We stayed with kids for 7 nights total and used it as a base for our trip. The staff is so kind and breakfast delicious. The pool and hot tub was a hit for the kids and adults

The staff were super kind and helpful, the house and garden area were really beautiful and well cared for, especially liked the indoor hot tub.

As with many places in the Azores in such a natural environment there were a lot of insects and it was necessary to keep the door closed. A full length mirror would have been useful.

Bâtisse magnifique décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Chambre parfaite et personnel très sympathique et disponible. Mention spéciale pour le jacuzzi dans la serre au milieu des plantes. Je recommande vivement !

Fabulous location in the town of Ponta Delgada and a beautiful building elevated above the surroundings. Quiet but embedded in the town. The pool to the rear of the property is very well located and looked after. Everything was spotless.

The breakfasts were a little eclectic and I think could be improved.

Wonderful location, facility and staff. We loved the view from our room, pool was delightful, breakfast very good. They also left a cake in our room in celebration of our wedding anniversary, it was a very thoughtful touch.

The coffee, the bedsofa was a pain in the... back, it wasn‘t possible to darken the room fully which made me wake up early, which annoying.. but even worse.. the children were awake at 6:30

Location, design, comfort

This is truly a beautiful place to stay, with the kindest and warmest people we have ever met. We were especially touched by how welcome they made our two-and-a-half-year-old daughter feel. It was the first time we genuinely felt that a place had put so much love and care into making her feel included. Her travel cot was beautifully prepared before we arrived. Every time our room was cleaned, her little bed was carefully made again, with her cuddly toys sweetly arranged just as we had left them. At breakfast, a high chair was already waiting for her, complete with children’s plates and her own cutlery. It is the little details that make all the difference. You can feel the love and care they put into everything they do, and that is something we have rarely experienced anywhere else. Everything was absolutely perfect. We couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

We loved everything!

La maison est vraiment charmante tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur. Le personnel est adorable (accueillant, attentionné). Le déjeuner est très bon. Petit coup de cœur pour le jacuzzi aux aires de jungle.

Un petit détail, on entend certains bruits des pièces voisines (pas, chasse d’eau, machine à café).

Beautiful villa with a lovely garden, swimming pool, and greenhouse jacuzzi. Our room had its own private enclosed patio draped in ivy, making it a peaceful place to relax. As someone with celiac disease, I especially appreciated the excellent gluten free breakfast options, including the bread that was specially provided for me. The location is ideal, within easy walking distance of both the marina and Ponta Delgada’s historic centre. We would absolutely stay here again!

Parking can be difficult to find in the area, and most nearby street parking is metered. If you don’t speak Portuguese, it can also be difficult to figure out how to use the parking meters or pay for parking.

The breakfast was good quality and there was a good quantity.

Our room was a little dark only one patio door. There was no shade over our outside space.

Everything! It lived up to its name — so charming, light and airy, comfortable, lovely pool and a terrific location. Everything we wanted to see in Ponta Delgada was a fairly easy walk. We all enjoyed the breakfast — eggs, sautéed vegetables, pancakes, rolls and jam, fresh cake, cereals, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses daily. Very comfortable beds. We had the suite that fit our family of 5 comfortably. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We stayed for two nights and had a car and found parking manageable once we figured out where lots and free parking zones were. Close to everything but also quiet location. Friendly staff.

Lovely hotel in a good location with excellent staff. Clean room, great aircon, comfortable bed and decent shower. Never a problem getting a sun lounger which is always nice!

Casa Portuguesa is beautiful. Well placed in Ponta Delgada but with a feeling of space. The house has been beautifully renovated and the room was very comfortable. The pool looked lovely and the gardens are extremely well maintained. The hotel was incredibly accommodating as we had a severe flight delay and missed our original dates. They also found us a room in a partner hotel for the following day if we needed it. They couldn’t have been more helpful and we really appreciated it. We would love to come back and stay to make the most of the indoor and outdoor space.

We were stranded on Sao Miguel for an extra weekend due to inclement weather and are so grateful to this property for having a safe and comfortable room for us to return to until we could leave. Ligia, Daniel and Sandro were so kind and helpful, they turned a bad situation with the airport shutdown into a stress free place to wait out the fog.

This property was fantastic.

Good location, solid breakfast and kind staff. Someone in the kitchen loves baking and I had the best coconut cake I have eaten in my life! The house is very clean and my room was spacious.

My bed was a little uncomfortable, but I prefer a very supportive mattress.

The location is GREAT! Just 12 minutes from the airport, a few blocks from the port and also, in the other direction, gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful, both in communicating beforehand and during our stay - they gave us half off for an additional night's stay so we could go right into our room when we arrived at 8am from the airport. The breakfast was simple but very delicious with some variety of options; it was similar each day with the exception of a different baked good. They also had water, tea and espresso available in the lobby at all times, which was great. The enclosed jacuzzi was delightful, as were the grounds with different seating options. The hotel was very nicely decorated and the rooms clean and spacious. They provided a dehumidifier, which is really needed, and the facility was very clean. We also had a fridge and local tea in our room, and robes with slippers.

3 things: 1) (BIG ONE!) There is no good parking options and they do not provide any guidance around this. This became an ongoing problem; it was so bad that we got a parking ticket, just in the time it took to check in and unload our bags into our hotel room (once we were able to inquire further about parking at the front desk). I had communicated with them beforehand to inquire about parking, and they said there are some free lots nearby - that was all. Nothing about how to actually unload the car at the hotel. I feel they should have paid our ticket. It turns out that free parking (and parking in general) in Ponta Delgada is in high demand - we went in April and I can't imagine how crazy it is in the busy summer season. They should have some marked spots set aside for hotel guests, paying for our metered parking, or even some clear guidance to actively assist guests in finding parking; both would make a huge difference. 2) It was not clear upon booking that there was no door between the two rooms; that was a surprise upon seeing the room and made it a bit trickier. 3) This is small, but there is no clearly marked entrance to the hotel, so the groundskeeper who happened to be nearby had to gesture to us for where to go!

Really nice property, clean, comfortable, with great staff. Hot tub in the greenhouse was great for a relax after a busy day touring.

Breakfast was limited, only small quantity of foodstuff at any time. Scrambled egg were cold or luke warm at best.

One of the nicest inns we have ever visited. Everything about it made for an ideal stay - the room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was superb and in a beautiful dining room All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the terrace off the room, the swimming pool, the sauna...The location is great - easy walk to restaurants and attractions in Ponta Delgado. Thanks!

Die Unterkunft hält genau das, was der Name verspricht. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen und ein toller Ausgangspunkt für alle Ausflüge auf der Insel. Man fühlt sich direkt beim Check in sehr willkommen. Absolutes Highlight ist der Poolbereich und der Jaccuzi, den man kostenfrei nutzen kann, um den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Ein absolutes Wohlfühl-Hotel, ich würde es immer wieder buchen.

El edificio es muy bonito y acogedor. Céntrico y con tiempo mejor del que tuvimos disfrutar de la piscina y el jardín tiene que ser una maravilla

Todo estuvo muy bien, la habitación, la atención del personal. Por poner algo faltan en el baño donde colgar las toallas y albornoces, ya que el bonito perchero de madera no permite colocar muchas toallas y que se sequen bien .
