Kodinomainen, rauhallinen, sijainti hyvä. Isäntäpari miellyttäviä ja auttavaisia sekä kärsivällisiä heikon englannin osaamattomuuteni vuoksi.

Heti ei löytynyt, koska nimikyltti oven pielessä oli niin pieni. Toki olimme saaneet kuvan sisäänkäynnistä.

Accueil et conseils excellents

L'emplacement est idéal , en plein centre de Ponta Delgada. Accès facile pour tous les points de visite. Très bon accueil, convivial et chaleureux. Echanges avec Pedro (parle français) fluides avec de bons conseils, notamment sur les restaurants.

Quartier assez bruyant la nuit mais l'établissent est tellement agréable qu'on se dit que cela fait partie de son charme ! La chambre notée vue mer avec terrasse est très agréable mais la vue sur la mer reste limitée (dans un angle) ! Terrasse agréable mais donnant sur la ville.

Great hostel in a great location. It was very easy to access public transport, taxis, and a supermarket. The room, the shower, and the common areas were always spotless. The breakfast was great and included a lot of local products. I also want to mention the comfortable bunk beds, there is enough space to sit up comfortably, whether you have a bottom or a top bunk. Since it was my first time in Sao Miguel, I was a little lost when it came to activities and things to do, but Pedro helped me a lot with choosing the best options and organizing anything I needed. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe throughout my entire stay at the hostel.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, the rooms are super comfortable, and the beds are just perfect. The breakfasts are delicious, and the hostel somehow brings together such a great bunch of people. Amazing atmosphere overall. Would happily stay here again!

The owner and his staff are all very helpful and friendly. Everything is new. The location is wonderful.

Das Frühstück war lecker und reichhaltig. Die Zimmer waren total sauber und sehr schön. Die Inhaber sind total aufmerksam, aufgeschlossen und emphatisch und haben uns tolle Tipps gegeben für Aktivitäten auf der Insel.

Die Unterkunft liegt in der Fußgängerzone und man darf nicht geräuschempfindlich sein. Leider gab es auch keinen Balkon oder Garten zum raus sitzen.

I loved the room, the bathroom sinks especially. I loved the home feeling of the hostel. I felt very at home and comfortable from the start.

Staff were very friendly and helpful in helping me plan some of my itinerary, suggesting restaurants, etc. The other guests were willing to engage at breakfast, which made the experience of staying there alone much more enjoyable. Also loved the delightful snacks and tea available during the day! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others, if they have availability.

Minor things, nothing that would cause me to not recommend it: - it’s right next to a busy square and there’s noise from people talking loudly at night. Host provides earplugs for this. - the breakfast was wonderful but limited to bread, cheese, jam, and fruit.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect, the hosts are incredibly welcoming and friendly, and everything felt very warm and comfortable. The room was clean, bright and beautifully kept, and the breakfast was delicious. A lovely place to stay — we would happily come back!

Super Lage - sehr nette Gastgeber - hat uns noch extra Angeboten, etwas zum Frühstück hinzustellen, trotz sehr früher Abreise. Insbesondere Gemeinschaftsräume toll eingerichtet, sehr schönes Ambiente.

Der Unterschied von Zimmerkategorien / Preis müsste nicht sein. Achtung kein Fahrstuhl.

I had the best time! Pedro and Susana are kind, fun and just amazing hosts. I traveled alone and chose to stay at a hostel for the first time. I felt safe, I made great friends and instead of staying for only two days I stayed almost whole vacation here🙏 it’s beautiful, clean, great location and breakfast is delicious and made from local produce♥️

Nowe wnętrz w starej kamienicy, przy głównym placu ze wszystkimi atrakcjami w zasięgu 5-minutowego spaceru. Bardziej hotel, codziennie sprzatane pokoje i super śniadanie z lokalnych produktów. Dwa koty strażnicy, witający w salonie o poranku.

Central location, close to marina and most of touristic activities. Host is friendly and accommodating. 3 cats in the common area.

I wouldn't call this accommodation a hostel, because guests do not have access to kitchen or fridge. Rather it is a "budget-friendly" shared dorm. There are limited possibilities to dry one's beach towels and swimming suit. I would expect a drying rack on a balcony, but there are just 2 chairs: one chair per room (so, if you are unlucky, 8 people from 2 dorms will be competing for these chairs). Breakfast is served 8-10, and most group tours require meeting at 7-7:30, so I could eat the breakfast just once during my 5-night stay. It looks ok, but no hot meals (like eggs or sausages). Dorm price is a bit lower than at nearby hostels, but you will lose all that advantage by paying to eat out, because there is no possibilityto cook your own food. So I wouldn't stay more than 1 night if my booking was refundable. Unfortunately, I pre-paid all 5 nights and got stuck.

Suzanna et Pedro nous ont accueilli très chaleureusement, ils ont toujours été disponibles durant notre séjour. Ils nous donné beaucoup de conseils et des lieux incontournables à voir sur l’île. Le petit plus est qu’ils parlent français, très appréciable. Le petit déjeuner avec des produits locaux est bon - merci à Helena et Karina pour leurs conseils également. La chambre est agréable avec une très bonne literie avec du linge agréablement parfumé. L’emplacement est idéal, en plein centre de Ponta Delgada

El alojamiento está súper bien ubicado y es todo muy nuevo y con mucho gusto. La cama muy cómoda y sobre todo los anfitriones súper amables, muy muy recomendable!!!

Felt like a good home base as a solo traveler. Modern interiors. Right next to center of town, so everything is walkable for lunch and dinner.

Ideale zentrale Lage in sehr geschmackvoll neu renoviertem Altstadthaus mit grosszügigen Zimmern und sehr bequemen Betten. Wir hatten das Zimmer im 4. Stock mit Dachterrasse und herrlichem Blick auf die Kirche und die Berge. Pedro und seine Frau waren sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück mit lokalen Produkten war einfach aber sehr gut.

This was a wonderful hostel stay! The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. I loved the chats I had with them (and their adorable cat and kittens!) and wish I'd had time for more of these lovely conversations. Hosts were available and communicative whenever I needed or wanted anything. My private room was great, with awesome views, plenty of storage space, and a decent private bathroom (not usually the case at hostels, in my experience). No elevator, but the hosts were really helpful and lugged my huge bag up for me! Breakfast was great as well and featured local foods. Location was perfect - right in the heart of everything. I had a lovely time and definitely recommend staying here!

Wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who has physical limitations or difficulty with stairs, although they can help you with your bags if that's a concern. The streets get a bit noisy some nights, but that's typical for such a central location. Room/bathroom were a bit musty and basic but functional. Still above what I would expect for a hostel in this price range!

I had a very pleasant stay at Matriz 55 Hostel. The staff gave me a warm welcome and were very flexible with check-in. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a great selection of local products. I also really appreciated that my room was cleaned and my bed was made every day. I would happily stay here again!

Minden szuper volt. Kiváló hely, hogy bejárd a sziget számos pontját. A reggeli is finom volt. Tiszta és kényelmes szoba.

Gostei muito da minha estadia. O espaço estava muito bem cuidado, limpo e numa excelente localização. Fui muito bem recebido pelos hosts, que foram sempre simpáticos e prestáveis. Existe a possibilidade de ficar num quarto duplo privado, ideal para quem procura uma experiência mais tranquila, ou optar por um quarto partilhado, perfeito para conhecer outras pessoas. Recomendo vivamente este alojamento e, sem dúvida, voltaria a ficar aqui!

I loved EVERYTHING about this Hostel. Matriz 55 exceeded my expectations as my first hostel experience. Amazing staff that make you feel so welcomed. The location was just unreal, in the middle you all the attractions in Ponta Delgada. My hostel room was literally cleaner than my own house, I'm not even joking. The breakfast with all local product was even better than I imagined. They even have a cat and two kittens in the lobby which was quite the bonus. 10 stars easy, could be even more.

This place is unique by very central location, excellent room, great breakfast and most of all warm and helpful hosts. Susan and Pedro were extremely kind. The rooms are cleaned, new towels and arranged every day. We had a room with terrasse. At Matrix 55 you will stay for low cost at what in fact is a Boutique Hotel and you will not be disappointed! We hope to come back another time.

You should not expect to have a kettle for boiling water and making tea and coffee. However, at the breakfast room there is all the time warm coffee and water for tea with homemade cookies. You can enjoy this service at any time!! So it is no problem!

Tout était parfait pour un séjour très réussi. Pedro et sa femme sont des hôtes exceptionnels, aux petits soins de leurs clients, toujours prêts à leur fournir de bons conseils et à rendre service. Le logement est très beau, très qualitatif et très agréable. Tout est fait pour qu'on se sente bien en ce lieu. Le service du petit déjeuner local est très appréciable, avec de bons produits et crée une belle convivialité entre les résidents. L'ambiance du lieu est propice aux échanges. C'est vraiment un lieu hors du commun où l'on se sent comme chez soi. De plus, il eSt idéalement situé dans le centre de Ponta Delgada. Une pépite. Merci

Pas de cafetière dans la chambre ( et café commun à disposition froid) Accès à la chambre terrasse: 3 étages hauts à monter avec les valises Terrasse mal équipée et finalement non privative car accessible par une autre chambre et visible depuis la montée d’escaliers Mobilier extérieur dégradé et rouillé, non utilisable Odeurs de nourriture dans la chambre en provenance du bruyant bar d’en dessous Accueil mitigé mais dame du petit déjeuner très gentille

Gute Lage, Gepäck konnte abgestellt werden.

Check-in hat sehr lange gedauert, man hat außer seinem Zimmer keine ruhige Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten. Begriff Hostel ist Fehlanzeige, der Besitzer ist ständig vor Ort als wäre es sein Wohnzimmer. Badezimmer und damit dann nach einem Tag das gesamte Zimmer stinkt Extrem nach Abfluss. Bei offenem Fenster riecht es nach Fritöse und man hört die ganze Zeit das Piepsen einer Kasse (auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern). Kein Aufzug, man trägt das Gepäck mindestens zwei Stockwerke nach oben. Frühstück nur von 8-10 Uhr. Wenn man um 7 Uhr einen Kaffee möchte, steht der aufgebrühte vom Vortag da.

Freundlicher Empfang mitten in der Nacht. Bett sehr bequem. Tolle Lage im Zentrum. Kein Autoverkehr.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich , die Betten superbequem . Die Lage direkt im Zentrum ist perfekt und trotzdem ruhig .

Ubicación muy céntrica y vistas a la iglesia y casco histórico. Edificio histórico renovado. Habitación muy luminosa, cama muy cómoda ducha con buena presión de agua y limpieza. Acogida y amabilidad de los dueños. El desayuno con productos locales.

The hostel is perfectly located in the center of Ponta Delgada. It is clean and Pedro is super helpful and kind host. We liked the breakfast!

Une odeur dégoût se fait sentir dans la salle de bain au dernier étage

La ubicación es inmejorable, en plena plaza principal. El desayuno muy rico y variado, con mucha variedad de fruta fresca. Los dueños y sus gatos son muy acojedores, nos dejaron dejar la maleta allí el día que nos ibamos. La habitación estaba muy limpia.

No hay ascensor, por lo que para el equipaje es un problema subir 2-3 pisos. El baño olía un poco a humedad. El cuarto un poco pequeño, para el precio.

Les conseils de Pedro pour les restaurants ! Les biscuits à la bière ;)

The room was amazing, bed super comfy, and breakfast really good too. The staff was very nice. We loved our time there!

The only issue was with the sound from the city, church bells and people enjoying their evening out. However, it did not really bother us and with earplugs we slept perfectly well

Great location! Great owners who were very helpful. Great breakfast. Allowed later checkin and when the flights were cancelled the owners accommodated people At 2:00 am. Highly recommend staying at this place.
