When we arrived, the foyer area was in disarray. There was garbage and empty bottles everywhere. A box of crackers. We tried the coffee machine and it did not work. When we went into our room, there was pubic hair on the toilet seat. We were quite surprised and disappointed especially five. The cost of the room.
Beautiful historic property, both hotel and grounds. One negative comment though. As our room located beside the living room and dining room, we heard conversations till 12:30am and could not get to sleep. Might be a good idea to inform guests to keep voices to a minimum in deference to people that are in bed earlier.
Rodman hall was a great experience with wonderful accommodations. The entire space was open to enjoy and offered rooms and spaces that transported me back in time. Absolutely recommend for anyone who enjoys a historic feel with all the modern life luxuries.
Amazing residence that shows it's historic charm. Staff was not on site but walking through the rooms was magical.
The boutique hotel is an experience. It is beautiful and enormous. It has been beautifully restored, with minor things needing a little touch up here and there. The check in process was easy. The grounds are amazing. It is very close to downtown which I should've know, but didn't realize. The proximity to the run down area of the city was slightly unnerving, but we were very safe and had no troubles.
No onsite staff, more like an air b and b. There was an odd thumping sound on our floor, couldn't figure it out so it was a bit annoying but i am a light sleeper. All said though fun to stay i n a 19th century mansion!
Beautiful grounds and building. Room was amazing, great experience.
Everything was amazing at this hotel
Everything was perfect!
Beautiful property ! Loved our stay - we stayed in room 103 which was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Beautiful historic building, with exceptional decor! A real castle for a descent price. Perfectly maintained.
Met the Owner ...a fantastic guy very warm and welcoming...
Rodman Hall needs better lighting for reading and a collapsible travel bag stand,
The Rodman Hotel is a wonderful heritage building, if you are looking for old world charm, this is the place. The surrounding grounds are well kept and provide a great space to wander around and relax. The bedroom suite was a very generous size and extremely comfortable. Whilst there are no dining facilities, the hotel maintains a tea and coffee area for guests as well as cold water and orange juice. We will be staying at this property again in the future.
Beautiful and aesthetic property. Checkin and checkout were really efficient. Close to Port Dalhousie and downtown. Might I say a hidden gem!!
Stay was exceptions

Beautiful outdoor grounds but could use a few more cushioned seating options.
Very quaint, romantic spot
This place is amazing… it’s such a gorgeous building and the room exceeded my expectations. Will definitely visit again!!!
What a beautiful property! The architecture, furnishings and decor really seemed like we stayed in a 1900’s mansion but with modern conveniences of wonderful washrooms, etc. I highly recommend staying here whenever you’re in the area.
Gorgeous property, great room. Self serve coffee/tea and water a plus. Quiet, no traffic.
Vintage and modern bathroom combined
A truly unique property with old world charm and modern amenities.
Beautiful property, rooms were clean . Was not really comfortable with no one on site for problems…which there was no hot water in shower or sink…let it run for a while thinking maybe hot water on demand. But never got hot or warm. Disappointed. So cold shower… But was a very beautiful
Beautiful property and cozy rooms. Despite having a virtual front desk, the check in/out process was headache free. Would love to come back again.
This beautiful manor home turned hotel is beautifully appointed, quiet and has the most stunning gardens and walking trails on the grounds to explore. A must stay!
Beautiful place. I was a little concerned going in about the shared bathrooms for the room I was in, but they were beautifully maintained and did not feel shared at all. Beautiful gardens. Excellent rooms. Highly recommend!
Very surprised how nice, well maintained and quite. Definitely stay again! Perfect
WiFi is not good.
The mood, privacy. Perfect spot for the wine tour.
Huge rooms and charming decor and great communication by staff.
Beautiful location. The room and hotel are exquisite. Very clean. Coffee and tea were available upon our arrival.
Should have muffins or other pastries available with coffee and tea in the morning. Shared bathrooms need better amenities (soap, etc.). Bath robe hooks should be installed. Mirror in bedroom required.
If your staying on the 3 rd floor , there are no in suite washroom or shower .
Very nicely renovated old house. Beautiful appointments in rooms and common areas. Located in peaceful quiet neighbourhood.
This property was amazing, the area around for morning walks the history of the property and the rooms were great
What a beautiful use of such a landmark property
A very unique and very nice place to stay. Completely different then regular hotels. Will stay there again 100%.
Beautiful building and furnishings. But it is dusty and the water is only luke warm.
Absolutely amazing. I stayed in cottage and it was just lovely!
Great to stay at a property with so much history.
Owner was wonderful brought us supplies. The “big house” did not have the promised supplies. The cottage was cozy but we had the feeling it was put together without thought to guests. No hooks for Towels no where to sit but a broken down (but beautiful) couch. One small garbage can for the place. The grounds are beautiful.
Stunning building restored with all its original charcter maintained. Very easy interactions with staff. Lovely grounds. I highly recommend!
Always a great place to crash if you are ok without amenities.
Great place to stay!
The details in the decor inside the rooms and throughout the hotel is magnificent.
Everything about Rodman Hall Boutique Hotel is exquisite!! Highly recommend this property to everyone. We stayed a a very large, beautiful and comfortable bedroom upstairs. We lacked nothing! It’s remarkably quiet at this peaceful and pretty property. Take the time to wander about the building and see all the gorgeous decor. The details of this renovation are really impressive! Truly a labour of love for the owners of this hotel. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge downstairs listening to music and reading. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. There are many excellent restaurants in the area. (No dining available on site, but complimentary tea, coffee, juice & water is available.) If you’re visiting Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake I’d recommend staying here and making the short drive to visit those places! It’s an amazing place for locals to have a staycation!! 🇨🇦
The parking lot was icy, but it's understandable given the weather this area has been experiencing. The room is amazing . . probably the best in which we've ever stayed.
The property is conveniently situated right by the train station and just a quick walk from downtown St. Catharines. We enjoyed the nature trails along the river, the breweries and restaurants downtown, and the easy access to the train. The hotel is decorated nicely and the coffee/tea in the main dining area is a nice touch, even there is no staff or anyone on site. They could increase the customer experience with more premium toiletries, and we found it a little inconvenient to not be able to control our room temperature. Other than that, our stay was everything we could’ve wanted.
We had a fabulous stay. It was a great experience.
Gorgeous property. Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed rooms and suites. Quiet. Water, juice, tea, coffee and continental breakfast provided. Lovely stay.
Beautifully restored historic building. Like spending a weekend at Downton Abbey.
Amazing place with heritage and amazing gardens
Great property with an airbnb style checkin. Super quiet property with a great walking trail out back.
An absolute beauty! Better than I imagined!
All perfect
We were very pleasantly surprised to get to enjoy the beauty all around the property. Would highly recommend for a memorable experience!
Historic and charming. A great way to transform an historical part of St. Catharines for the arts community into a boutique hotel.
The ‘hotel’ is unmanned which is not for me when traveling alone. More an Airbnb feeling than a hotel. Nice big room, okay price - and surely fine for a couple enjoying the privacy.
Not very clear that you had shared washroom facilities.
Opulent luxury hotel living in the home of a historic billionaires mansion If you like old school historic charm this place is awesome. For the price of a run down chain hotel you can have a suite at a historic mansion boutique hotel
Great little place to stay
Fabulous place to stay
Are room was very nice and big. Are king bed was very comfortable. Rodman Hall was very nice and clean. The only problem was are shower. The shower head is too high im 6ft my wife is 5'2 and it was extremely powerful....
Love all the history of the property and the manager was super responsive to questions. The room was beautiful, the gardens extensive and beyond breath taking, loved the updated bathroom. Only feedback - the room could use a few more accessible power outlets and the TV was pretty glitchy.
The best place ever!
Beautiful property, well restored.
This property and its grounds are beautiful. I will definitely stay again if I’m in the area.
Excellent second visit to Rodman Hall! Nicely renovated in a more traditional, rather than modern, style. Nice rooms, great remote communication from the staff at the Stone Mill Inn. Highly recommended!!
This quiet and private property is as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. Our rooms, The Merritt Suite, was spacious and beautifully furnished. The common areas on all three floors are stunning. Rodman Hall was an excellent location near a quaint downtown area and within easy reach of many wineries and orchards. We enjoyed our stay immensely. It is a wonderful place for an event or wedding. The building and grounds would make a lavish backdrop.
Excellent Location , Service and Beautiful place
One of a kind ambience hotel!
What a great new place to stay in St. Catherines! The mansion is absolutely beautiful, with updated amenities. Location is superb - an easy 10 minute walk to many dining options downtown. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Rodman Hall is like no other. Converted from a family mansion, with other uses in between, the detail is beautifully authentic. Our room was exceedingly comfortable and elegant. The grounds are magnificent. In busy downtown Saint Catherine’s, it is a retreat. I would give it more than five stars if I could do so. We certainly plan to come again.
A very beautiful property and rather unique accomodation. While highly recommended it is importamt to understand this is not a full service hotel. Very much enjoyed our stay.
It’s an elegant old mansion and while the room was comfortable there were lots of odd quirks. The lighting in the rooms and bathrooms was poor. In addition there wasn’t any information about the property upon self check in, eg is there coffee in the am etc. also the outside lights were left on all night which streamed through the drapes making it difficult to sleep. It was an ok stay and quaint but I wouldn’t go rushing back.
Rodham Hall is a beautiful, stately manor that transports you back in time to the most elegant and beautiful finishes of the 19th century but with the modern conveniences of today.
Very pretty
Amazing renovation. Step back in time. Lovely.
Beautiful hidden gem in St. Catharines. Quiet and clean. Large rooms. Loved it and we’ll be back.
Good
It's heritage, kind of vintage. Would love to stay everytime
Absolutely beautiful, don't forget room 101, between Murdock Mysteries and Downton Abbey
Nice area. Central.
The room we got was smaller than what our pictures on expedia lead us to believe but we still gave it 5 stars as the property itself was amazing, inside and out. Things to know. Our room did have a toilet and sink but no shower. There was 2 community washrooms with showers. Our room 303 3rd floor front left corner of the property. Did have a mascerator connected to the plumbing. Whenever we flushed the toilet or ran the bathroom faucet in our room, it would make a crazy loud grinding noise. Scared the crap out of us and im sure it scared our neighbors too at 1am. That was our only issue with the property but we understood trying to make plumbing work in something built in 1856. Again amazing property. Don't hesitate to book.
My wife and I visited Rodman Hall to attend a wedding in town. This is a very unique and special place. We were blown away by the attention to detail and care take to restore the property to its original 19th century look. Would highly recommend.
Merritt Suite is lovely
The property is beautiful! The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the gardens are lovely. The building is very secure. I appreciated the continental breakfast each morning. There was no front desk or staff apart from the gentleman who laid out the breakfast. I would stay here again.
This is a beautifully renovated home that is a cornerstone of history for the area. The owner, Nino, gave us the grand tour and I do mean grand. Be sure to check out the history of Rodman Hall so before you go. There is no restaurant on the grounds, which are beautiful, but there are plenty downtown which is a short drive away.
Definitely not what I was expecting from the description of a boutique hotel. I was very surprised to find I was the only person at the property - no staff or other guests when I checked in or out. I was given a key code for the front door and for my room. It was unnerving to be staying alone in such a large building. The toiletries were from a warehouse store and there was a coffee machine in a corner of a dining room that I found - not something I ended up trying given the condition of it. The building itself was beautiful and the furnishings were nice, but the grounds are tired and need some love. It could be a good place if you were hosting an event or for a group, but I would not recommend as a hotel.
Definitely not what I was expecting from the description of a boutique hotel. I was very surprised to find I was the only person at the property - no staff or other guests. I was given a key code for the front door and for my room. It was unnerving and creepy to be staying alone. The toiletries were bulk purchase from costco and there was a dodgy Keurig machine in a corner of a dining room that I found - not something I ended up trying. The building itself was beautiful and the furnishings were nice, but the grounds are tired and need some love. It could be a good place if you were hosting an event or for a group, but I would not recommend as a hotel.
Very expensive for not having any staff or real amenities. No information in the room on absolutely anything. A little creepy at night. One big old empty house. $400.00 not worth it.
Great place!
It was a lovely experience and beautiful restored property. I would have loved if they had the option of coffee in the room or nearby in the lobby.
They upgraded the room for free my wedding night. Checking in is as simple as getting an email and putting in a door code.
It is quiet and comfortable place for a couple.
The location and building and rooms themselves are unique and special. The servicing less so - no front desk, so you rely on virtual support staff, and, while friendly, they did not deliver on critically reassuring info such as building and room passcodes until after the admittance time, and only by our renewed request, via cell, at the site. Too late! No bar fridge, and no good info on site amenities ahead of time. That said, a beautifully restored historic building with unique character - just needs better support.
