Staybridge Suites Port Elgin by IHG

The staff especially were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgable. The breakfast was excellent and no paper plates was a welcome surprise.

There was some confusion on arrival as we did not realize that Staybridge was affiliated with Holiday Inn, so it took a few minutes to find our way to check in. We were not the only ones who experienced the same issue. The room was very nice, our only complaint was how slippery and dangerous the shower floor is. There are no safety mats available, so we resorted to using the bath mat to stand on in the shower to avoid a fall.

The breakfast was great, so many food items to pick from. The breakfast staff was great, constantly refilling the food.

I found the shower flooring very slippery.

The room was very spacious, with everything you need for a shorter or longer stay. The hotel was very clean and looked brand new. Breakfast was great, with lots of options and could accommodate some special requests like soy milk and a no-cheese omelette. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

Even though the TV is new and looks like a smart TV, streaming from your own device wasn't available, and the pool area was very nicely heated; however, the water was a bit cold. But those were minor details overall I still had a great experience.

The staff are very friendly, always prompt to help., breakfast always fresh , They were always texting us to ask how our stay was going. It's our second time we love it.

I almost give a rating of 5 but a few minor things that need for improvement. The bed is a bit too soft . Breakfast overall all is good but the mix fruit is not fresh and the eggs is a bit dry

My wife and I stay here on our annual port elgin trip. But this is the first time we ever booked a hotel here, never liked beach town hotels or motels. This one was top notch. We booked a 2 night stay, but canceled our first night because of bad weather. After our arrival in the hotel, we were so upset that we canceled. We could of stayed in this beautiful gem in Port Elgin out of the rain no problem.

Uiterst vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Zelfs de dame van de huishoudelijke dienst gaf ons een mini rondleiding waar we, onder andere, het zwembad en fitnesscentrum konden vinden. In de avond een biertje drinken met chickenwings was heerlijk. De kamer/studio was erg mooi, ruim en schoon.

This hotel was exactly what we needed, the suite was clean and quite, plenty of space. We stayed two noght and travelled aroind the area so we were very happy to have a comfortable and welcoming place to stay after a long day of hiking

The pool, and Gym with towels, we do not need to bring ours , it's a bonus 😃 games room, laundry room are amazing, amazing staff, cleaning and maintaining are regular in food Court, great staff in the breakfast area always replacing food and keeping the area clean all the time.

The only thing that surprised us was that the reservation was for 4 people in the room and we only had 3 units: of glasses, plates, forks, knives, mugs, and the same amount of bath towels, also for 3 people. On the second day, 3 clean towels were replaced, and I had to ask for another one because we were 4 in the room. That was the only thing they didn't confirm how many people would be in the room. Otherwise, everything was excellent, from the regular cleaning to the very friendly staff, always ready to help.

What a wonderful place to stay with 3 generations and 2 dogs. Everything is clean, comfortable and suitable for a family with a lot of attention to detail. ….the doggie bags. Rooms are spacious and have all the amenities. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful new hotel. Stayed in a king room with a pull out couch for 4 of us and it was a great size. Excellent accommodations. Will be back. Unfortunately they list gluten-free options in their restaurant and breakfast but not available when requested which was a disappointment.

Very nice hotel with many amenities and very kind and friendly staff. Breakfast is wonderful, and free guest laundry available. Will definitely return! Suites are well-equipped with the kitchenette and great for families or longer stays. Location on the Main Street is convenient for getting around town, but not picturesque. Walkable to grocery, Starbucks, Dollarama, drug store, and some fast food. Quick drive to downtown area and the main beach.

There is a bar and restaurant (lighter pub fare) on site, games room, complimentary coffee, tea and fountain drinks, lots of comfy seating areas in the lobby. Pool is a bit small, and there is no hot tub.

Even though the hotel said it was pet friendly. It never stated that you needed to call or message them that you had a pet that they only had limited number of pet friendly rooms. So when I arrived, I book for two queen size beds in a suite and the staff saw my dog and when is it a service dog and I said no when I book it said pet friendly says oh no you were supposed to call us or messages that you had a pet because now we need to move rooms around so they gave me a room with a king size bed and a sofa bed on the first floor. Where there was traffic of coming in and out which cause the door, pressure on the hotel room door so that every single time somebody would come in that pressure would move the door and would activate my dog so I couldn’t sleep throughout the whole entire night because there was that issue. When I told him about it in the morning. He was like oh sorry to hear that but I paid $500 including a $35 fee for the pet which is not listed on the site. You have to go into property detail. It was just a bad experience.

Great property with lots of amenities, laundry (dont forget to bring laundry pods with you), games room, breakfast, indoor pool, full size fridge in room and many more. Beds are comfortable. Excellent property.

We had a great stay, everything and everyone were wonderful.

We stayed for 2 nights and had to wait to check in bc they were cleaning the room. I noticed the carpet was not vacuumed and the mirror was dirty along with garbage some places. I had 2 small kids so that was unfortunate.

Hi Hotel was great, and rooms in good condition but reason for my poor review is that the bathroom shower was extremely slippery and they do not provide bath mats. I called front desk asked if rooms had bath mats and they said no. It seemed like i was not the first person to ask. This is a serios safety hazard and liability and hope management rectifies ASAP. Otherwise good hotel

We had our honeymoon here this weekend and it didn't fail to impress. Love it here and will be back again sometime thanks for your patronage

Property is built on old waste disposal site. Sewage smell emanating from bathrooms, sewage smelling water in breakfast area with flies. Manager will eventually have this and any other honest reviews deleted.

The check in was extremely slow when only two representatives were there and one of them was taking calls for online booking. I would suggest someone that's not at the front desk take calls behind the scenes.

For me, it was all about location, convenience. Rooms were a nice size.

Wonderful front desk staff. Horribly rude and unprofessional Manager taking about staff to other staff and guests. Flies in food in breakfast area, unclean rooms. Staff do their best but Manager makes the environment unpleasant while lowers morale. Hotel Manager, Trevor deletes all posts that are it 5 stars.
