Breakfast was fine. Coffee and O.J. were quite good. The outside grounds could have been better kept ( grass cut and flower beds tended to ) as well as some units had bottles and or cans left on the grass outside. Our bathroom was in need of some repairs; i.e. floor tiles missing grout and tub faucet dripped. It was quite humid during our stay. The A/C cooled the room but didn't reduce the humidity in the room to any great extent. Beds and pillows were comfy and the bedding was clean as was the room. We did not use the pool or exercise equip. Restaurants are close by and only a short drive to the main beach

Maybe bit more variation for breakfast ie. All three morning was sausage and scrambled egg. Didn't like the noise made by the A/C unit in the room.

The room was not cleaned properly. Bathroom had long hairs in the corners and dirt on the floor. It was horrible to9 see. Neither my husband or I have long hair so it was not ours. The air conditioner blows directly on one of the beds. my husband had a really bad allergy attack while we were there. In the morning his eyes were swollen. Not sure if an animal had previously been inb that room, or it is one of the cleaners you use or the amount of chlorine circulating in the air.

property needs more maintenance. The property was not clean and the place is way too overpriced.

We really love staying at this location! The staff are always kind and tend to requests in a kind timely manner. The manager is always welcoming with a smile.

The breakfast was awesome. I can't comment on anything else that the facilty has as I got in late and didn't use. But room was nice and breakfast like I said awesome.

El servicio de limpieza en la habitacion no fue realizado, no me dieron toallas limpias, cuando las solicite por telefono me dijeron se las vamos a llevar, finalmente fui yo a dejar las toallas sucias y pedir unas limpias.

Breakfast had a good selection The make your own waffles was great. Lots of choices for kids and adults. Kids loved both the inside and outdoor pool. We had sliding door with 2 seats outside the room.

Carpets in the room always felt damp. They should remove them. Also the TV is weird. No channels. You have to cast from your phone after you connect to their wifi. The shower head was leaking and splashing everywhere. they should look into a renovation of the rooms.

The room is nice and clean. Good breakfast. Not worth the money as it's peak summer time it's pricey everywhere. There was only one Towel in the hotel when we arrived and the next day room services were not done. The receptionist was kind enough to help us with the garage disposal. We get to know that you have to request room services daily which is new for me...in all over Canada cleaning staff usually come and check the timings and provide service on a daily basis.

The Ac ran smooth and cold all night, the bed was huge and comfy. The pillows were a little big and fluffy for my liking , so I am glad I brought my own. Nice clean room.

THE THING I DIDN'T LIKE, WAS THE LOUD BANGS AND RATTLING OF THE DOORS BEING OPENED AND CLOSED ALL THE TIME..sooo loud and disrupted my sleep constantly.. But when It finally stopped..I could rest for a while. Also there was Zero TV channels...that was kinda lame, especially for a $200 per night room.. must fix that. Especially for families i would see that as an issue.

L'hôtel est très bien situé, proche de la plage et des magasins, restaurants. Les chambres sont très confortables. 2 piscines.

Le petit déjeuner quoique complet est toujours le même. Nous sommes restés 4 jours et les 4 matins: saucisses, oeufs, muffins, pas d'alternance surtout en ce qui concerne le chaud. J'avais demandé s'il était possible de faire la chambre juste 1 fois au cours de notre séjour, ils ne sont jamais venus.

The staff were lovely, no issues there! Room was okay, very humid but AC took care of that. The rooms are dated but clean. The pool area is not as it looks in photos, at all. The sides were yellow and brown, the filter was floating around the pool, it was super humid. For $358/night we were expecting something more clean. Please consider fixing up the indoor pool! Outdoor pool was great! Breakfast was good lots of nice seating!

We liked the location, amenities, indoor and outdoor pool and facilities. Good TV to watch the world cup. Good AC system. Good breakfast.

I do not like the new owners changes. Breakfast used to be great, but has been reduced to almost a basic continental. Also, dont appreciate watching the owner walking up to the eggs, grabbing something out of it (WITH HIS HANDS!) and throw it out. Not sure what is was, but I'll never touch the eggs again. No bacon, no bagels, warm yogurt, and old fruit. Also, removing pool towels from pool areas was also frustrating. We always had to go to the counter to ask for supplies, towels, T.P. etc. The staff were not friendly, cleaners mainly and managers. Mike was wonderful though and really works hard to make it a comfortable stay. 5 stars for Mike 3 stars for the rest

We have stayed at Port Elgin Super 8 a few times. Its close to so many things, safe and quiet. The pools are nice and the hot tub is working this time and was really nice. Breakfast was simple but hit the spot to get the day started. Jeanine was lovely at check in. Overall lovely time.

Close to shopping and food options. Outdoor pool was warm and clean.

Room was near the indoor pool and strong chlorine smell and humidity in hallway first day as someone propped the poolroom door open. Outdoor pool was not open our first day until it was inspected by public health. Breakfast area was very busy and ran out of eggs one day. Any fruit set out like bananas was gone quickly. Very basic breakfast. Air conditioning was loud during night so wore earplugs.

The motel had everything we needed. Breakfast, outdoor pool, parking, cable tv , wifi, pet allowed, vicinity to beaches, coffee, tea free at the lobby, edible water fountain,

The lack of staff training and management, could affect the quality. When we arrived the room was not ready, had to wait 40mins outside. Daily room cleaning wasn't an option. You had to tell the front desk that you want cleaning. Breakfast tables were not cleaned properly and particles of bread from previous guest left on the tables. Floor mats didn't look so clean. Sheets were clean. We were out of shampoo and had to ask the janitor to give us one.

Comfy bed. Actual crib. Pools were nice. Easy location and near restaurants and stores. Clean room and one floor. Overall the stay was good and I would likely select the hotel again to stay at.

Shampoo bottle was out of soap (had to ask for more) the Google cast on the tv wouldn't work. The crib sheet fits a standard mattress so it's too big (you can buy ones that fit a play pen size, which I brought and it fit perfectly), doesn't offer body lotion or makeup removing wipes in the washrooms. The breakfast was okay. The heating and AC unit in the room was damaged and missing a knob to control the temperature. Door to the hotel rooms and outside exits did not have accessible automatic door openers to make getting in and out with luggage easier. Would also cause a barrier for people with disabilities.

Bathtub dirty 2 requests to clean didn’t get done. Counter in bathroom cracked and broken and outdoor pool the reason we booked with Super 8 was not available. Breakfast sucked not at all what it used to be and rude manager chewing out staff in front of customers. Poorly run

Almost everything, I stayed here long ago the people back then were very clean and organized. But the new team who are managing this motel are very irresponsible and unclean. The carnet in the room was super dirty, breakfast is worst breakfast I have ever had. And they are kinda scammers. They over charged me

Rooms, breakfast area and grounds were all very clean and sufficient for our stay.

The staff were nice but it seemed like they were either short-staffed or new at running a hotel. When we first went to check in at 4pm, they said our room was not ready yet. The kind gentleman who was at the desk graciously offered to put us in a different (upgraded at no charge) room but when he inquired with cleaning staff, it was also not ready. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm. We left and came back around 5:30pm to a different front desk staff that was nice but very minimal in her words. She didn't understand what I was asking when I asked if they had a CAA/AAA discount at this hotel. She also had to call and ask the cleaning staff if our room was ready. It was ready at that time, although they had forgotten to put in bath towels. It seemed like there was only one person cleaning the rooms and when observing her doing so, she may have been fairly new at doing this. Nothing against her but this is likely why the rooms were not ready even by 4pm. The breakfast was decent and the staff we saw there was lovely but plates and food ran out a few times without immediate replenishment. We were there for two mornings and the food and replenishment of the food was very scarce (most things were half empty). I went at 8am one day and 8:45am the other. Again, maybe inexperienced at knowing how much to put out and often to check for replenishment? I did see the manager on a few occasions who seemed really great and attentive but, again, I think maybe a lot of the staff were new and had to refer to him and other experienced staff which affected service a bit. Also, we booked a room facing the outdoor pool but it turned out that the pool wasn't open for the season yet which would have been nice to know at booking. We stayed June 28-30th. I am not a complainer and quite understanding but as I have stayed at many motels like this, I did notice a difference with these few things. Just honest feedback for things they could work on.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast, great swimming pool and hot tub.

Unfortunately the outside swimming pool was locked at the time of our visit (end of June), but it wasn't a big issue for us, considering other amenities were available.

This is a very clean and quiet motel. Within walking distance to some restaurants and we drove to the downtown core. Our room was very comfortable and all updated. Breakfast was simple, hot and a good variety.

My first time in Port Elgin. I had researched many places and decided on this one. I chose well. It was welcoming, immaculately, clean, and well laid out. The price was very reasonable and it included breakfast which I will come to in a second. There was a 24 hour coffee pot in the lobby. Breakfast was good egg sausages, all kinds of cereal bread muffins, lots of coffee. The staff was very friendly as was everybody I ran into there. If business brings me back in this area again, I will definitely stay at Port Elgin super eight again

Très mal insonorisé chambre avec porte communicante nos voisins riaient et parlaient tellement fort j’avais l’impression d’être avec eux dans la fête après 11 hrs la réception les appel pour qu’ils arrêtent de faire du bruit mais continue en riant de plus fort j’ai donc du demander par moi même à être changer de chambre il m’ont alors offert une chambre près de l’accueil que nous puissions dormir

Room was great and the service too but unfortunately our neighbors 4 intoxicated persons was really disturbing so I ask to change room cuz they keep yelling and I could have a room close to the lobby and sleep tight

I have to say the breakfast was the same every day. Our toilet started running they couldn’t fix. Did offer another room but only one night left. The pool could use some TLC looking old. Stayed there also 12 years ago, it’s looking its age.

The room was hot (cool weather outside). The thermostat did not work - we could turn on the fan, but the digital readout was not there, and on the cool setting, we could not turn on the air conditioner to go cool down the room, so it was hard to sleep. Also heated bathroom floor was hot when we arrived - after turning the temp. to off, the floor only cooked down a little by bedtime.

Dirty bathroom with several issues which was corrected when we asked after we checked in. Had to ask to get room cleaned. Found out it’s not cleaned unless asked during my week stay. Breakfast was not at Wyndham standards. Yogurt put out when asked only. No gluten free bread items. No concern either for their GF guests. That’s when I asked for a yogurt. Never went a second time for breakfast. Very disappointing. :-(

Bathroom fan wasn’t working and even after complaining a few times was assured it will be fixed but no one came to fix it neither was provided with an alternate room. Breakfast was okay considering the price expected a few more options. TV cupboard seems was painted/polished recently but wasn’t properly dried as the paint was coming off every time upon touching.

We loved the location and the cleanliness of the building and rooms.

We booked a suite a month in advance, but upon checking in, we were told none of the suites were available. I was told the suite we were supposed to have had a lady in it who had been living there for 2 months. They acted confused as to how I was even able to book it.

I requested a wheel chair room because my husband cannot walk and you didn’t inform the motel of that and I order to stay the staff asked a lady to move from her room so we could stay there .We were coming to Port Elgin for my sister’s funeral after a 2 hr drive and decided to stay there night but had made reservations several days before. I would never recommend this website to anyone. Janet

the morning breakfast needs to be better organized, maybe give X number of guests one time and 2 or 3 number of guests different times. Right now it is not fair to the staff working there that they can't keep up with the high demand all of once.

Location was amazing and the outdoor pool (while not the cleanest) was the highlight for my 6 year old.

The room was not overly clean. There was a wet face towel left behind the toilet, what looked like feces smeared on the door (not sure what it was) and the carpet turned my feet black in seconds. While our concerns were handled quickly, I felt housekeeping did a poor job.

Our room was on the second floor, and accessing the building was challenging due to a sticky door. The carpeted hallways were dirty, with a strong musty and moldy odor. The room felt damp from high humidity and also had a musty smell. We stayed only one night and, thankfully, will not be returning.

The location was great. Really enjoyed the indoor pool, the patio deck, and the cozy rooms. There were many breakfast options. And having coffee available outside of breakfast times is the signature for a Super 8 :) It would have been nice to have rooms closer together but the distance between rooms was not too bad as all were on one floor. Plus our room ended up right next to the indoor pool, which my toddler loved!
