Very well presented, outside lobby restaurant all beautiful, rooms need a lot of TLC. Attention to detail when it comes to cleaning.

Some parts of the cleaning was poor not just in the rooms but the toilets to the public too. Basic standards are ok but some bits just need attentions to detail.

The bed was large.The room clean and spacious.The staff (although at times a little sparse) were very friendly and in particular a lady who helped us at the restaurant (her name badge said Alicia) was absolutely excellent !! A real credit to the hotel.She was very helpful, friendly and approachable.I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone.

At times it was hard to find staff.The reception desk was unmanned when we arrived and we had to wait a good 5 minutes until someone came and by then we were not the only people waiting.

I didn’t or there wasn’t enough information about the rest of the hotel it would have been nice to read some literature about the rest of the hotel and and its facilities I know the television advertising it but we couldn’t access the information from it.

The breakfast was too basic for such a nice hotel, it also wasn’t served with care. I came down to breakfast at 10 on a day it finished at 10:30 and they had run out of a hot item and I was firmly told by a member of staff that I had come down too late and breakfast was nearly over??!. I found her tone dismissive and her response unacceptable. Also we upgraded to your best rooms and apart from the view, I could not see what the extra we paid for because I have stayed twice before in your more basic rooms which were the same. In fact our shower was little broken, the tap water flow was on an off and there was no storage room for clothes so we had to live out of our bags. I regretted paying so much more for your prestige rooms.

The hotel was clean, with very friendly and helpful Staff who were so good to children. Breakfast was amazing with a fabulous choice of foods. This is one of the best Hotels we have experienced. Our 7 year granddaughter absolutely loved her stay.

Disabled car park bays are too small for a disabled person to get in and out if the car.

It wasn’t very clean especially the bathroom very dirty, very dusty, dirty stained window sill. Staff at check in very good. Staff at breakfast awful full of bad attitude and very unhelpful. Food options poor. Yogurt (single pots) not available every day not constant enough. Pancakes machine did not work every day either.

Pefectly situated hotel oppsite the beach. The hotel was clean and modern and ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed and pillow were sooo comfortable, i slept like a log ! The thick curtains kept all the early morning light out. The breakfasts were very nice.

The only thing i didnt like was that there were no windows in the room. Although there was air con, which i imagine was amazing during the heat waves.

Fridge in room didnt work, obviously problem as saw many being swapped out by maintenance, breakfast was chaotic on second day, we were told to sit and wait for a table then people walked straight up and were seated without having to wait. No cutlery, shortage if staff as nobody clearing tables, one drinks machine for all those people, no hot water for tea, no yoghurt, there appears to be a need for one person to be in charge as the staff were all needing instruction. Despite these issues with breakfast we would still come again in a heartbeat!!

Really lovely, spacious and modern room. We booked a standard double. Lovely and clean. Really good air con. Huge tv. Breakfast was great and the staff were warm and friendly, well most of them! Very good value for money.

The only down side was not having an opening window in the room. Air con was good but having no open window felt a bit claustrophobic at times. It wouldn’t put me off coming back though.

The room was spotless. Very comfortable beds. Front desk staff were friendly and helful. Evening dinner staff went above and beyond for us as we had a dog so made us feel very welcome.

At breakfast not one morning did our plates get cleared off our table after we had finshed, we cleared our own plates. We sat in the doggie section and its like we were forgotten. The gym room was literally a tiny room with one treadmill, one X trainer and a bike. A rack of weights and a bench. 😟 It felt like the gym was an after thought.

Bathroom cleanliness was but great (sink and shower), room wasnt dusted. Breakfast selection was ok but the coffee truly awful. Definitely didnt look like the pictures on booking.com... Not as close to the beach as we thought...

Where the hotel was situated opposite the beach.

The fridge was not working and the woman at the front desk said there is no other room so we had to just put up with it. The room view was on a street and people in street were loud and looking through window. We had our evening meal at the hotel and the food was poor and overpriced. The breakfast was poor, food undercooked and hot water machine was out of use.

Lovely modern hotel. Rooms were more than comfortable. True to the photos. The reception area/bar is a lovely setting

Breakfast wasn’t great. No pancakes on two mornings, no Nutella put out. Had to keep asking for the staff for items as they weren’t out or topped up. The breakfast didn’t match the photos. Room was on the fourth floor and I don’t use lifts. It’s a long walk up! Key cards needed for doors and lifts. Great for security, however slightly frustrating if you forget your key and constantly need it out. Always get two if you are a couple

Staff were friendly and helpful, room was comfortable, clean and pleasant. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Overall, our stay met expectations and we were well-fed and well -rested. Breakfast was a very, very good buffet style affair

Having paid for a seaview, I was a bit disappointed to find that the view was mainly of the funfair rather than an uninterrupted view of the sea

Hotel on the sea front, had a room with bay view. Unfortunately all we could see was the circus in front of hotel on paignton green, which I know isn’t the hotels fault.

One occasion i had to lay a table myself for breakfast. Which i would have expected it to be laid for me. Lots of empty crocks lay around waiting to be collected & taken to kitchen.

I used to live in Paignton and this was a large step above anything the area had before. Great experience!

Parking was quite expensive, especially considering council parking is nearby at a fraction of the cost. In fairness the hotel refunded the parking costs.

Car parking wasn't great. Had to park in the sister hotel next door, in their overflow car park. It was ok but wouldn't have been great if you had mobility issues.

Breakfast experience. We had to queue 10mins for a free table. The queues at the buffet were ridicules. There were no plates and the majority of the hot food had run out with considerable waiting times for the kitchen to replenish items. There were a lot of unhappy guests ! Along with others we asked if we could have a refund for our prepaid day two breakfast. Those who had booked direct with the hotel were offered refunds but as we had booked through Booking.com they were unable to refund us !

The hotel is in a great location, on the seafront, and close to all shops etc. Lovely terrace outside with plenty of shaded areas. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

The rooms are really good, however, I would like to see more supplies of tea, sugar, milk, etc in the room as there was insufficient for 2 people. I would also like to see hot chocolate included for those, especially the elderly, who quite like that kind of drink before bedtime. And a toilet brush in the bathroom is a must in my opinion.

Parking bays are small. There was a loud high pitched whistle from the bathroom plumbing from the early hours we kept having to flush the toilet for it to stop. The food was not great it took ages for our main to arrive the peas with the fish were bought out later, I asked for additional soya sauce which never arrived, the couple next to us had the wrong food order but being older said they did not want to make a fuss, food was on the sofas in the morning. No coat hangers in the wardrobe

Breakfast was exceptional. The all day menu is also very good that includes the evening meal. There isn't lots to choose from, but what they have is good value for money. Especially is there is an offer of a price discount.

More free soft drinks/water in a privilege Room. But that is only a minor point. Everything else was brilliant and would definitely stay again.

I paid for early check in, reply came back saying we could get in at 12, on arrival was told the room wouldn't be ready until 1pm. I also paid for upgrade, until I showed reception agreement they tried to say no upgrade had been made. They did finally get it sorted but it put a bit of a downer on the day. We only had 1 day in Paignton on our way back from Cornwall but I don't think we would do it again.

My only criticism was about the shower. There was a metal grid which needed some metal polish on it.

Breakfast was average at best and the layout was terrible especially for the tea and coffee. For the duration of our stay one if the hot water machines was out of order. No sign of anyone coming to fix it. Dinner in night one was absolutely terrible. Fish and chips were burnt and fish definitely wasn't fresh. The price of a large wine was OTT at £15.50 for wine that far from warranted this price tag

Every morning there were things missing eg plates, bowls, milk jugs, tea pots, teas,bowl of yoghurt. Staff were asked a min of 3 times each time before replacing them. It took min 20+ mins to get an order of poached eggs. On our arrival night the only draft beer available was a local craft beer that had to come from from an outside bar ! No choice. Our bedroom for our stay had the bed made and fresh towels delivered daily. The same dirt was on the floor for our stay which given that dogs were allowed to stay in every room showed extremely poor cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Check in was easy. The staff were lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. Good bed, nice shower. Good tea coffee facilities. We had a view of Paignton sea front. I’m glad I never paid extra for sea view because it’s got a large fun fair on the green out the front. Fun for the kids but not great to look at or hear the music continually. But it’s school summer holidays and par for the course. Breakfast was nice. Hot and cold foods. We went at 9am and it was fine. Loved the bar, terrace and bar staff. Really lovely. We ate in the restaurant which was great. Reasonable too for a 4 star seaside place. They were really good with our children. Location is great. We absolutely loved this hotel. It’s perfect. We’d definitely stay again.

The lift button on floor 4 is temperamental. On the last day we sussed it out but we’d been getting the stairs to floor 3 and using the lift there.

The Staff member who checked us in and out was a very friendly, lovely woman who was happy to help. The bar staff were also very friendly. The room was comfortable and the AC was very welcome.

Parking was a little bit of a nightmare, but manageable with local roads. We didn't realise there was a Summer Fair in front of the hotel, which wasn't ideal but also not nearly as bad as it could have been. It meant that there was no view of the beach/water but it definitely could have been worse. I did see some rude teenagers trying to access the hotel even though they weren't guests but hotel staff were immediately on it and took care of that problem. We couldn't hear any of the noise from the Fair in our hotel, which was a pleasant surprise. The room could have been a touch cleaner as there was a bit of a poop smear on the toilet seat when we arrived.

At breakfast you had to wait to be seated some staff looked at you then carried on with what they were doing someone from reception came over and told us to sit anywhere didn't explain where anything was,the evening staff was fantastic on the bar and restaurant the only thing with the evening meal nobody checked to see if everything eas OK during the meal but overall it was OK
