The Sands Hotel

Location was perfect, less than a minute to the sea. Car parking was free, bonus. Because up the road in another hotel, it was £15 a night. Hosts were amazing, very nice people, made our stay so much better.

That it was near beach

Because I told them there was bed bugs on the bed and carpet they got angry using threatening behaviour towards me . They tried to claim it wasn't there fault that the seagulls carry them to the window and they come in.

Very friendly staff nothing too much, perfect location, decor a little dated however comfortable, free car park too, will definitely visit again

The hotel did not have a lift and was very hard work getting luggage up to top floor of hotel using 4 flights of stairs , also the fact it did not offer evening meals and the bar was only open on demand. The noise from the sea view room was very annoying ,due to motobikes late at night

The location was great, there was 24hr access given so lots of freedom, easy parking, the staff were always lovely to speak too.

Could do with more soundproofing as we accidentally made noise coming back late one night.

Staff friendly and helpful, we had a very large vehicle and they allowed us to park at the rear. Great location

Lovely owners, everything there we needed. Great location to the town centre. We weren’t due to get in the room till afternoon we arrived 3 hour early and we were welcomed and the room was ready for us.

The attitude of the owner, I felt I was being treated second to the large group & I was told "well they're regulars".

What we liked; Location excellent Access to ground floor room esp as mobility issues Bed very spacious/comfortable All very clean Tea/Coffee plentiful, nice biscuits Breakfast plentiful very good.

On arrival, some confusion regarding communication requests of double bed not singles/front parking space due to mobility problems. Though these issues were immediately dealt with, and sorted, also offering free breakfast as an apology. Excellent customer service and we had a lovely stay many thanks 😊

Bad bugs all under the mattress and wooden frame , bitten me my wife and 8 years old Son once complaint about it to the property manager he started asking me questions that where have you come from and your family must bring that with you etc nonsense! I have taken the photos for bad bugs crawling under the bed and bed frame . We have red bruises marks all over neck shoulder hands and legs all 3 of us ! The hotel needs to go full bag bugs check up !

A very comfortable room which had everything I needed plus a warm welcome when I arrived.

I didn't like leaving as I have already said it was a lovely room and the hotel was in a perfect location for me to visit the harbour and do a beach walk. Next time I will plan to stay at least a week.

This lovely friendly clean hotel is right next to the beach and run by two fabulous hosts - we could not fault it and will be returning later this year. We also got to meet some lovely people in the evenings and had great fun with JESSICA.

The hotel location was near the harbour to watch the airshow.

The bed was hard and wasn't good for my back. A noisy fan noise kept on going keeping me awake I couldn't find anyone to say goodbye and thank you to even though I rang the bell so l had to go into the kitchen to find someone to hand over my key.

shaz and mas the hosts were very welcoming and made you feel very welcome the hotel was spotless clean and the location was perfect the on site parking was a real bonus as didn't have to worry about the car also the bar area was beautiful and was really thought out well and the seating area outside is the perfect sun trap really enjoyed this hotel

the only issue I had was the pillows were a little hard for me but that's just personal choice

fantastic hotel handy for everything.... beds fantastic ....rooms are spotless clean... breakfast is great chaz and maz are amazing nothing is to much for them highly recomend..... you will have no regrets

there is nothing to dislike maz is fantastic and so funny she made me laugh constantly and its the only hotel the ive stayed in thats had more than 3 coat hangers lol chaz and maz are right on the seafront magic

The service of the management was absolutely amazing! Very caring, kind and homely.

Everything was perfect but a little thing that I personally don't like is the separate taps for hot and cold in the toilet sink. Extremely small thing because everything else was perfect!.

The staff at the hotel were so very friendly and lovely. I asked where the local launderette was and the very special lady at the hotel said not to worry and she would do my washing for me. I can't put in words how lovely these people are, they really are special.

What a lovely experience! Everything about our two day stay was excellent. We were in room 6 facing the sea front, gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable, love a king size one!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. For example, when I asked if there was a communal fridge I could use, the landlady carried a spare fridge and put it in my room! Overall I was very impressed by the place, considering the very reasonable price. A pleasant stay.

Shower was a bit fidely but that was explained in guest info.

The location was perfect with a sea view. The price was spot on for what you get. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice and warm. The whole place was clean. perfect for a spur of the moment stop over.

The decor is dated which didn't give a great first impression but once we noticed how clean everything was, it sort of grew on us. It's kind of like sleeping over your Nans house but I think that added to the charm.

The owner was very welcoming and the location is great and easy to find. The views of the sea were spectacular and the room was very clean.

Our room could do with a bit of updating. The rooms could also do with fans as the noise from the roundabout can be quite intrusive in the early hours of the morning.

Breakfast was very nice and the location was also great. The room was attended to very well and the tea/coffee and sundries were all well supplied.

We were surprised how small the bedroom was and in particular the en-suite, which was tiny. TV reception was poor in all channels.

Extremely friendly and accommodating owners, great communication due to an issue on my end. Excellent location on the seafront, ample parking, spotlessly clean room with great sea view.

Main road could be noisy at night if your a light sleeper, not the hotels fault obviously however something to consider when booking. Pressure from shower is poor, this the only negative.

Twin room very small No water pressure taking a shower.Limited parking.If you have problems walking up the stairs you will have problems because no lift.

Great hotel, excellent value for money, would highly recommend, location is spot on. The owners are also excellent very welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Also a bit of a pool player on the table in the bar which is very well priced. 🍺🍺😀
