The property was an experience with individual huts. Very clean but small. Walked to the restaurant and our car but was expecting that. Glad we stayed!

Service could have been much better. Restaurant was very slow. Bar was out of too many things.

Das Hotel ist aussergewöhnlich und sehr cool! Zu Fuss aber weniger zu empfehlen, da von den Hubs bis in die Stadt mit ca 25Min pro Weg gerechnet werden muss

I loved the location, view and feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were very good. The stay was special and there’s was no disappointment.

The pods were a little tight for space for us but they were perfectly designed and well thought out. We struggle to travel light.

We are really torn on our stay at Bracken Hide – we spent 4 nights there and it was meant to be the highlight of our honeymoon, a fairly expensive option even if we booked it well in advance in January. We’ve struggled to put our finger on why we left slightly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful setting, and on paper, the wooden huts and the view and general set-up sound romantic and like the perfect place to explore Skye. We found that a few things let Bracken Hide down: firstly, we probably underestimated how far away from the main Hub some of the huts are. I’m five months pregnant and we had a hut in the “first row” from the main building, and I still found it a struggle. They have two golf buggies to take your luggage but they are not permitted to take guests on those, and we had to wait quite a while for our luggage to be delivered and picked up again. Secondly, while the hut was lovely, it just fell short of perfect – the bathroom was suitable especially considering it’s a small hut, but then there were no small hand towels, only big bathrobes – small things like this. The WIFI was very weak which we’d seen in other reviews, but considering you might want to snuggle down with a cozy film on a rainy evening this could be improved. We were super happy to see that they had some EV chargers in the car park (absolutely critical on Skye) but they did not work. The third issue we had was with dinner – everyone was so lovely and friendly, but we didn’t anticipate how busy the restaurant would get. They don’t serve any food in the bar, and if you didn’t book a table for dinner way in advance it became an issue. Given you’re out exploring Skye and it’s hard to anticipate when you’ll be back, having to book dinner three days in advance is tricky.

Finally – we did find it ever so slightly disappointing that there was nothing to acknowledge we were on our honeymoon. We had a road trip up to Skye and every other place we stayed had a little cookie, a glass of wine, a free dessert – just a small acknowledgement of our special holiday. I know that’s not at all something to expect but considering how fancy and high-end the hotel presents itself it would have been a nice feature.

The location and the setting was unique and gave a feeling of space and intimacy at the same time. Our Hide was fun and we enjoyed the opportunity to stay.

For the price we paid and the quality of the venue, the breakfast service lacked attention to detail and coordination to ensure patrons received high end service.

Great location for those who seek quite with amazing view. But, basically, that's the only upside.

All the rest: staff is horrible, anything but attentive. Each room stands alone. Mine was about 450m from reception. The bellboy that was supposed to carry my luggage didn't come, so I ended carrying it - both ways - myself. The key to the room, an old physical key, didn't work, it was twisted. There is no phone in the room to contact reception, so again I walked there to replace the key. The room is tiny, not enough hanging or shelves. It is not clean enough - spider webs are present in more than one place. The beds are aoft - but that personal opinion. When the receptionist was told about those things, on my initiative - they said it will be fixed. It wasn't, and nobody bothered to ask anything upon my checking out

The hotel was breathtaking on the drive in and very different from what we had stayed in on our trip. The service was very accommodating with an extra special shout out to a specific porter named Jack , we had an issue w our tv and internet and he was amazing at finding a solution, he was at our cabin multiple times in the pouring rain to try to fix the issue and the next day we were surprised w a fix and a sweet note. He really went above and beyond! So thank you! The main building was very welcoming w a lounge and bar. The breakfast was delicious! It was the last leg of our trip and an absolutely amazing and memorable way to end it ! The cabins were very cozy and beautifully done!

Location is lovely and the cabins are wonderful. They are comfortable, and well designed inside and out. We loved the view and the privacy. The main building is also beautifully designed with nice bar and seating.

Service overall was subpar for the price and extremely inconsistent person to person. Our cabin was not cleaned, nor were repairs that we asked for taken care of. The restaurant was surprisingly bad - bland, unimaginative and not well prepared food. Several of the attendants in the restaurant were not skilled, did not make eye contact, and were not kind or attentive. For this per night cost, I expect top notch service and amenities.

Excellent staff very pleasant and efficient. Restaurant wonderful! Delicious food, dinner and breakfast. Bar great! So were bar staff:) Everyone very helpful! Left cardigan and it arrived back in the States in days! Location of our hide was good, not so far up the hill....it does start pouring out of the blue! Took advantage of sauna, ok, had to wait to get hot and large machine in waiting area took up space for three people, our son did cold plunge, very natural pool. Expensive but if back to Isle of Sky would return to Bracken Hide!

Al sauna le faltaba mantenimiento y un reloj para monitorear tiempos sin arruinar el celular. De noche faltaba alguna iluminación en algunos trayectos hacia determinadas cabañas. El bar está muy limitado en su capacidad de atención y no pudieron hacer nuestro trago. Creemos en el restaurante también faltaba personal o no se organizaban bien y las esperas eran largas. Para el nivel de restaurante esperábamos mejor calidad de cenas. Pedimos un risotto que NO era risotto. Si lo ponen en el menú el chef debe saber que no es solo cocinar arroz.

Gorgeous setting and beautiful facilities. Professional and courteous staff. Loved the food and the sauna/cold plunge!

Price is higher than I like to pay, especially since we had to hike up to our cabins. If dinner were included or shuttles were optional, especially at night, the price might feel better.

O terreno onde estão as cabines é bastante inclinado e subir para os quartos com numeração superior pode não ser fácil para todos os hóspedes. O carrinho de golfe só leva e traz malas.

Path is very worn and bare due to the golf carts creating large potholes and driving too fast and carelessly and knocking the stones off the path. There is an absolute lack of any maintenance. There were 9 lights knocked over with wires and plug exposed on the path heading down the hill. The shower door kept coming off track. TV internet did not work the 2nd night.

Good but not amazing location as 25 min walk down the hill to Portree. however once e in the place and hotel reception: pods amazing views of Portree bay.

If unlucky your pod would be 10 min walk up the steep hill (if young and fast). Rooms good but short beds so my feet were out of it ( I am 174m in hight). Bathrobes are also on the small size. Superbly expensive for one night stay.

The main building is very nice. Restaurant & bar are pleasant & comfortable.

The sleeping pods are very small & compact. Quite a walk from the parking area to both the main building and the pods. No-where to dry anything and it rains a lot and you often get wet. Staff are willing & trying but in need of training.

Lodge and staff

Wish room had been cleaned each day- we needed TP also a main light was out.

- Très confortable (les lits et cabines sont confortables) - Bel emplacement - Neuf, propre - Le sauna et la piscine naturelle (très agréable et charmant)

- Il fait très humide sur l’île de Skye et notre cabine manquait cruellement d’un sèche serviette où nous puissions faire sécher notre linge car nous étions trempés de nos randonnées sous la pluie - L’hôtel est très impersonnel, un peu plus de charme et de « story telling » rendrait l’endroit bien plus charmant - Certains membres du personnel étaient très désagréables (notamment un jeune à l’accueil)

Extremamente caro. Quartos minúsculos e distantes da recepção, sem que o hotel disponibilize condução com o carrinho de golfe que só servem para carregar as malas. Sem comunicação entre os quartos e a recepção. Falta de armário para colocação de roupas. Restaurante com serviço deficiente (exceção à gerente Pauline). Arrumação de quarto extremamente falha.

We visited The Bracken Hide Hotel with my daughter & husband visit from Australia. We were also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It was supposed to be a real treat…. The rooms were in a poor state of repair. Broken chair and door. This was reported immediately but nothing happened. The cleaning service was poor, our rooms were not service properly. No clean towels, no replenishment of tea etc. One particular receptionist was so bad…. Didn’t acknowledge me at all when checking out. He took the key and didn’t say a word. I feel this is totally unacceptable, especially when you’re paying £400 per night per room….

Ο άντρας μου είχε πρόβλημα με το γόνατο του και δεδομένου ότι πρέπει να ανέβεις αρκετά μέτρα για να φτάσεις στο δωμάτιο ,του αρνήθηκαν μεταφορά με το αμαξίδιο του ξενοδοχείου .Αυτο είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα να επιδεινωθεί η κατάσταση με το πόδι του και να μας χαλάσει τις διακοπές μας .Εαν κάποιος έχει οποιοδήποτε κινητικό πρόβλημα πρέπει να γνωρίζει ότι το ξενοδοχείο δεν είναι φιλικό

הבקתות ממוקמות על צלע הר, וההגעה בעליה רק ברגל (קיים טוקטוק שלוקח רק את המזוודות) אנחנו קיבלנו את בקתה מס 1 שהיא הכי גבוהה. אני בת 62 ויחסית בכושר עליתי ברגל (מתחת לכיפת השמיים ברגל וגם ירד גשם) וכשהגענו התברר שאין מים בברזים , ניסנו להתקשר לקבלה אך ללא מענה ונאלצנו לרדת עד לקבלה ושם נאמר שאין מים כבר מזה זמן ולא יודעים מתי תחודש אספקת המים. יש לציין שיחסית עלות החדר ליום יחסית גבוהה (שכרנו ל 2 לילות) . ללא שום פיצויי מצד ההנהלה נאלצנו לבטל את ההזמנה ולחפש מלון אחר, יש לציין שקיבלתי החזר כספי מלא.

os chales ficam fora do predio principal e o acesso é dificil para hospedes com dificuldades para caminhar ou crianças, pois são subidas ; o hotel dispoe de carrinhos para levar as malas mas deveria disponibiliza-los tambem para os hospedes , isso não foi oferecido e os funcionarios que conduzem esses carrinhos várias vezes viram hospedes subindo as estradas de acesso aos chalés a pé e não ofereceram condução. Além disso, não há chinelos para os hospedes, o que seria de muito bom grado, ja que se trata de local frio e não há tapetes nos chalés. Por fim, destaco que minha familia ocupou 2 chalés por 3 dias e um dos chalés não foi limpo nem uma vez e a limpeza do outro chalé não incluiu retirada de lixo

Very nice facility. Very polished gorgeous for a "glamping" type of facility; from the restaurant through the entire staff. Paulina, one of the restaurant staff, was exceptional in all aspects.

Nothing, all good. A little pricey. But, definitely the nicest place in town, in this price point. This would be #2. The nicest place in town was more than double the money.

Looks good online but really that was about it. The breakfast was decent but not much of a selection and no any buffet like options. The location was decent but signage to get there were not very good at all.

A lot. For starter - when checking in - I was the third person in line for the service. The check in counter was tiny and they were giving directions to the first group which could have been done elsewhere and not making everyone else wait. Then the cabins are quite far to walk and all uphill - there was no offer for us to take the buggy/golf cart and take us to the cabin. For elder or someone with double knee replacement surgeries like me - it was quite difficult to walk. The staff was not unfriendly but far from being friendly either. The wifi signal was horrible, keeps cutting in and out and was very slow. The staff who drive the carts around the path - drive way too fast. The cabin itself was tiny and when we arrived, there were bird poops in front of the entrance. There is no phone in the cabin so you have to all the hotel main number to talk with anyone, super inconvenience. I could go on and on for more. Definitely not worth the price and do not recommend.

Good location and very good restaurant

Hotel with 2-star standard with the price of a 5 star hotel. Very small rooms and our room did not have hot water in the shower. Staff was unprepared to solve issues and took a long time to move us to another cabin (which still had issues with the shower). They made another cabin available very late and we had to move the luggages ourselves.

Being in your own cabin was a nice and the views were great. Enjoyed relaxing in the bar area and playing a few games of checkers at the end of the night.

The cabin had a musty/mildew smell in there. Was a bit much. Not sure if there is a way to fix it but I did see a few other reviews saying the same thing. For the price it was a bit disappointing and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner.

We loved being so close to town and yet felt so secluded! We lived the food, breakfast and dinner were so good! The sauna and overall facilities are very nice, clean and wonderful for a weekend stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and so helpful.

Such incredible views and very clean and comfortable. Most beds in Europe are not comfortable. The beds here are super comfortable.

Le concept de pods pour dormir sur un montagne a 10 minute de randonnee grimpant depuis le batiment principale qui resemble un blaukhaus. Pas de transport ici, tous ce fait a pied.. Et merde si tu a oublie qqchose dans le pod ou dans ta voiture. Cet hotel na pas de chambres dans lhotel que les pods loin a lexterieur.. Ceci nest pas claire sur Booking ou le site dhotel. Staff ne sont pas tres aimiable et vraiement pret a vous aider- debrouillez- vous.! Meme avec les valises. Un pod parmi les 3 nous avons loue a ete en mauvais etat. Bref a 500 euros la nuit un tres mauvais rapport qualite prix. On attends mieux pour cette prix.

Salle de baon minuscule. Chambre tres petite ne comportant aucune chaise aucun fauteuil aucun canape et aucune table. Il y avait 2 chaises a l'exterieur et sous la pluie. Impossibilte de recevoir les chaines normales a la television. Conclusion un rapport qualite prix execrable.

Very beautiful location, a bit out of village. It’s a whole experience sleeping in a separate cabin, that I enjoyed very much. The restaurant was very good!

The door handle of the bathroom door was broken.

The property is unique and the hides come with air conditioning. The views are spectacular and it is very quiet. They will take your luggage to your hide in a. Gold cart which was super helpful. The rooms were beautiful and the luggage fit under the bed easily to make more room. Shower had excellent pressure.

The WiFi was spotty in the hide. Some of the staff were wonderful- the guys that took the luggage were terrific. Some staff were not so friendly. We had terrible service one night at the bar when a staff member who apparently didn’t usually work the bar was there. Things seemed disjointed like not all staff was trained or they were short staffed.

The location and concept are great. The field is covered by small huts and it’s quite astonishing. It definitely provides a different vibe. The staff and restaurant quality were excellent.

I’m still trying to justify the price, comparing it to other hotels were we stayed in a similar price range. Maybe that if the rooms were a bit larger…

Great. modern stay on Skye. The pods are so well designed and comfortable, which was a really great surprise. Cannot recommend highly enough. Great location for launch pad for any Skye activities.

Close enough to Portree to walk to and from. Cabin was larger than hotel rooms in Edinburgh and Inverness. Sitting on the porch and drinking coffee. Breakfast and Dinner were both excellent

La gentillesse du personnel avec un accueil chaleureux et souriant. Quelque soit le personnel, accueil, restaurant, technicien, les rapports sont sympathiques. L’originalité des chambres, leur confort et leur ambiance. Le point de vue superbe des chambres et du restaurant. Les petits déjeuners sont de qualité et diversifiés. Le restaurant est bien.

La climatisation qui souffle directement sur nous quand nous sommes allongés sur le côté droit du lit.. L’organisation pour profiter du sauna

We loved the unique experience it offered. Staying in a dome is worth it.The hotel is close to town. The food was amazing and the staff were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

Breakfast offerings were very good, food arrived in a timely manner, staff was very friendly- even remembered our names from the night before. Our hide was clean and comfortable and had a beautiful view. We were thankful to be in Portree.

The main building was painfully hot with the sun streaming in the big windows blasting everyone at the tables and booths at breakfast. I overheard multiple people ask to be mover to a location out of the sun, but that wasn't available. The heat and sun definitely took away my appetite. At dinnertime either was still very warm, too warm in the restaurant. Some motorized drop down shades would spare your customers this painful breakfast sunshine. We utilized the sauna and cold plunge and found the sauna to not be quite warm enough but clean and private. There was an abundance of small fish in the bottom of the cold plunge - not sure if this is on purpose, but it felt like a lot of fish.

Excellent location in Portree close to everything. Very cute and private huts with a beautiful view overlooking Portree and the food was delicious! Staff were very nice to work with!

Our room was at the very top of the hill so it was a little difficult getting to breakfast and back to the room. The gravel roads made it difficult to get around with luggage so maybe having some solid sidewalks to walk on would help.

We loved the location and the individual rooms. The views of Portree were spectacular. The beds were very comfortable. Quiet, clean rooms. The Hub served wonderful meals. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom had no place to set toiletries. The bathroom also needs some hooks to hang towels and clothes. There were several items in our room that were broken or in disrepair.

Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig auf einem Hügel oberhalb von Portree. Das Frühstück und Abendessen waren schmackhaft zubereitet. Die Aussicht auf die Bucht und die Umgebung sind sehr schön.

Vom zentralen Teil des Hotels (Rezeption und Restaurant) mussten wir ca. 200 m bergaufwärts zu dem Zimmer laufen. Die Zimmer des Hotels sind alle recht kleine Hütten ( nur ca. 3 x 4 m groß) mit sehr kleinem Bad und sind weitläufig auf dem Gelände verteilt. Es gibt keine Ablageflächen im Bad, kein Platz um Koffer unterzubringen ausser unter dem Bett, kein Platz um Kleidung aufzuhängen (im Zimmer gab es lediglich zwei Bügel). Für zwei Nächte zahlten wir für Hütte und Frühstück für zwei Personen fast 1000 €. Die Ausstattung und Größe der Hütten war in den Hotelunterlagen nicht zu erkennen. Das Hotel ist als 4 Sternehotel angegeben. Hätten wir im Vorraus erkennen können, wie die Lage und Ausstattung der Zimmer (Hütten) in Realität ist, wären wir nie auf die Idee gekommen, dort zu übernachten. Zudem wurde von Tag 1 zu Tag 2 das Zimmer nicht geputzt, das Bett nicht gemacht und die Badezimmerwäsche nicht gewechselt. Für das was geboten wird ist das Hotel extrem überteuert.

I stayed in #31 at the top of the hill. The staff were always willing to drive me up in the golf cart with and without luggage. The property is a 20-25 minute walk from the bus stop in the square. The room was a nice size with a big bathroom. The patio had two chairs with a spectacular view below. The room had a mini fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. The breakfasts were excellent. The bar was really relaxing. They could use a second person from 6-8 pm. The bartender was serving bar customers but also fixing drinks and serving folks in the restaurant.

The price point.

En realidad no me gusto nada porque esta como un 4 estrellas y para el precio que tiene no tiene ni una. La cabaña es chica para el precio. No tenia toallas. La cafetera no andaba. La limpieza pésima. NO CAMBIAROB LAS SABANAS> ESTABA MANCHADA DE SANGRE!!!!!!!!!!

Te lo venden como un super lugar por la Recepción que tiene pero las cabañas son malísimas para pagar 450 dólares la noche.

Die Lage war zu weit weg von der Stadt. Die Idee und Lage in der Natur und der Blick war prima, aber viel zu teuer.

The overall design is very striking and contemporary, with high-quality finishes and a clear architectural concept. The amenities, especially the shower products, were excellent and smelled wonderful. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection of hot plates alongside other options. The setting is pleasant and the location is convenient for exploring the area, with some cabins offering nice views if positioned higher up the hill.

The design often comes at the expense of practicality. The cabins are small and poorly organized in terms of usability, with no proper space for luggage despite oversized furniture. The bathroom is particularly impractical, with no surfaces to place toiletries, water splashing from the sink, no hooks for towels, and no shelving in the shower (products placed on the floor). Overall, there is very limited space to put personal items anywhere in the room. The higher cabins have better views but are inconvenient to access, and the hotel as a whole feels more like a design concept than a comfortable place to stay, lacking warmth and a sense of ease.

The cabin was flawless, modern and wonderfully cosy in the evenings. We loved the location, close enough to town but tucked away enough to enjoy the countryside views. In the main hotel, the bar and restaurant are very well done. We had drinks and dinner one night and thought the entire experience was brilliant. Breakfast too was well organised with table service and plenty of menu options.

Nothing. Though the only thing I could think could potentially improve the hotel would be to look at adding in some hot tubs or even individual saunas for cabins.

An excellent place for a secluded getaway. The room is great and offers a unique experience. The staff is very attentive, and the breakfast was outstanding.

Absolutely lovely hotel. The main lodge was stunningly appointed, warm and charming. The "pod" rooms were unique and added a special charm to the stay. Staff was lovely, and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. Restaurant for both breakfast and dinner were some of the best we've experienced in 3 weeks of Scottish travel.

The pod rooms are a bit small. It's a unique experience, so fun for a change, but with a bathroom you scarcely have room to dry off in after your shower, go in knowing that this is an "intimate" hotel experience.

What a beautiful highland stay! It was amazing. The barrels were super warm and cozy, it was like you were home. The lobby and the breakfast was top tier and the people working there were so nice. 10/10

The hike up to the top of the hill was tough.

Séjour insolite avec tout le confort nécessaire ! Le petit-déjeuner est très bon et bien servi. Le personnel est au petit soin et le restaurant vaut vraiment le détour, belle vue en prime! Les cabanes individuelles sont très confortables et permettent de profiter du calme et d'un beau panorama.

Un petit meuble d'appoint supplémentaire pour poser ses affaires serait plus pratique.

Le site est magique ! Immersion totale en pleine nature le lieu est très beau

Les cabanes offrent une jolie vue et beaucoup de calme. Le restaurant est bon et le petit déjeuner aussi.

Déception à l’arrivée notre cabane qui semble en bois est en fait toute en plastique à l’intérieur. Et nous n’étions pas immergés dans la nature à ce point. Au final le prix de la chambre est trop élevé.

The concept is nice, the main building has some potential and the location is easy. Breakfast staff was friendly.

The front desk was not welcoming at all, not one smile. The facilities are run down, the spa wasn’t working properly and was not clean. The restrooms in the main building were dirty, toilet paper on the floor etc. The bathrooms in the rooms are very small, don’t even have a shelf to put our cosmetics on… breakfast was good but very basic and limited for a 4*

Le fait que lorsque nous avons pris la chambre, un sac avec les linges des précédents et leur poubelle restaient dans la chambre. Les prix qui sont vraiment trop importants tant pour la chambre que pour le repas du soir. Le fait qu'en 20 minutes d'attente avec le repas, le barman ne soit même pas venu prendre une commande au bar, alors que le bar était vide. Il était trop affairé à autre chose

Das Ambiente der kleinen Hütten und die Sicht ist ganz klar das Highlight dieser Unterkunft. Sehr gutes Essen, super Service.

Leider waren wir mit der Sauna nicht ganz zufrieden. Es gibt keine Slipper, keine extra Handtücher, keine Uhr. Kleinere Reparaturen notwendig. Für den Preis haben wir etwas mehr erwartet.
