Un hotel boutique exclusivo en pleno centro a escasos segundos De la Torre del Reloj. Al llegar nos ofrecieron un cocktail de bienvenida, masaje de 10 minutos y una toalla fría pues hacía mucho calor. El desayuno es increíble. La piscina arriba está genial. Un hotel 10.

Por ponerle una pega.. diría que me hubiera encantado alguna sombrilla en la piscina pues hacía demasiado calor.

The location couldn’t have been better! Right near the square where the walking tours meet, and just a short walk to the pier for the daily boat tours to the islands. You really couldn’t fault the location. The staff were next level and went above and beyond throughout our stay, especially Ronald, who was absolutely excellent! Breakfast was the best I’ve had in Colombia. It started with a beautiful fresh fruit plate, followed by eggs cooked exactly how you like them, then lovely bread with jams. Such a great way to start the day. The rooms were a really nice surprise too. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the air conditioning was the best! The pool area was perfect and, despite being such a lovely space, was never busy. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena. Fantastic location, wonderful staff, great breakfast and everything you need for a really comfortable stay!

La ubicación es inmejorable, en pleno corazón de la Ciudad Amurallada, cerca de los principales atractivos de Cartagena. La habitación es amplia, cómoda y muy limpia. El desayuno es delicioso, con gran variedad y productos frescos. ¡Recomendado para quienes buscan comodidad y buena ubicación!

Una de las cosas más importantes cuando te vas de vacaciones es que puedas dormir, descansar con tranquilidad. Este hotel tiene un ruido de una terraza/discoteca que está muy cerca que te impide dormir en silencio hasta que la discoteca cierra, a eso de las 3am. Además, a primera hora de la mañana, el motor de los tanques de agua se ponen a rugir para rematar la falta de descanso. La verdad es que es un horror.

The staff is wonderful and coffee delicious.

Very heavy perfume smell, from the cleaning products, in the tiny room. Breakfast not very good. The location is good and bad. Good if you want to be kept up until 2:30 in the morning by extremely loud music and bad if you don’t like being hit up, literally every 2 steps, by someone trying to sell you something, once you walk out the door.

Great stuff specially Laura and the attendant at breakfast.

Um dia antes fomos avisados que a rua do hotel estava sem energia. Fomos realocados para um outro hotel da rede. Colocados em uma habitação superior da que tinhamos pagado tanto no primeiro, quanto no Sol de Alba. Além do hotel corresponder as expectativas do que promete. Quero exaltar em especial os colaboradores, que são excelentes pessoas, prestativas, educadas e sempre preocupadas com nosso bem estar. Recomendo aos Brasileiros se hospedem nesse hotel quando vierem a Cartagena.

Location and comfortable beds.

Understaffed! The toiletries and bathroom amenities provided were not of good quality — it would be great to consider upgrading them. It was disappointing that there was no concierge service available — it would have added a lot of value to the stay.

Hard to initially find the place but one I did was very lovely. Comfortable room and top tier staff that went the extra mile to help me out and provide recommendations.

This hotel was amazing! The staff was so helpful they literally took me to different stores so they could translate for me I only speak (English) and get reasonable prices because it’s a tourist area. Room service every day, I stayed five days. Great location!!

As it is an old colonial building l, obviously there is a natural corrosion and maintenance to be done mainly on the walls and roof!

The service personnel made us feel very much at home at this Iconinc location. Imagine living at the same place Sir Francis Drake lodged while in Cartagena. Get ready for a superb experience.

Ivan, Edwin, and both Carloses took great care to make our 2-night stay at Sol de Alba a memorable one. Amazing central location inside the walls with nice views of the city from the roof. Very clean. Nice little rooftop pool.

When we first arrived, it was hard to find the entry door at first, but it's exactly in the location provided by google maps. Just have to knock on the door with the sol (sun), and someone's there to let you in.

A hidden beautiful gem of a place!

Since it’s next door to a club, it’s loud at all times of the night. Little rough to sleep if you’re a light sleeper

It’s a beautiful new hotel, what made it even more special are the people who work there, Carlos ( both of them ) Edwin and Jose took really care of us. Breakfast is included and is delicious !! We had an amazing time. SOL de Alba is Very close to everything , is walking distance to amazing restaurants and monuments in Cartagena.

Be aware that’s is in the middle of the wall city that means bars are open until very late at night and you can hear the noise of the other rooftops around it.

Love the staff here! They made me feel so special on my birthday. The food is amazing and the location is fantastic. The room is majestic and we had the luxury of also having a balcony which overlooked the streets of the old town. Definitely would come back here again. ¡Me encanta el personal aquí! Me hicieron sentir tan especial en mi cumpleaños. La comida es increíble y la ubicación es fantástica. La habitación es majestuosa y tuvimos el lujo de también tener un balcón que daba a las calles del casco antiguo. Definitivamente volvería aquí de nuevo.

Majordomo Rodolfo was excellent and having him give us history and insight to places to visit in the area was truly a blessing. The hotel is central to the city so everything is within walking distance. There was heavy construction during our visit so it was messy once you left the hotel. Great AC in our room and a nice balcony that was shared with the room next door. There is a nice rooftop bar where we had a nice drink one evening. There is also a pool on the roof but it wasn't very inviting. There are rooftop bars nearby that act as clubs all night. Bring earplugs because the loud music won't let you sleep. We were made to feel like we had the hotel exclusively to ourselves. Breakfast was included in our stay. Service was excellent and food was delicious. The entire hotel has a modern design, was very clean, and smelled wonderful. The hotel staff was courteous, pleasant, and always helpful. Walking around can be overwhelming as peddlers constantly want your money. They do not invade your personal space but they are persistent. The city felt safe both day & night. Price gouging in stores is a thing. Street vendors often sell the same items so negotiate with them instead. Taxi fares are an issue. Airport to hotel should have been $8 US but they hear American and double it. Sadly, the $20 fare we paid to get to the port was arranged by the staff at the hotel. Not nice after we left them each tips.

This hotel is beautiful and is in the perfect location! You are walking steps from all the sites, restaurants and rooftop bars in Cartegena. The staff - Edwin, Carlos, Juan are all fantastic and so helpful!

Some of the rooms do not have windows. Most do not have balconies so choose your room wisely. The noise from the street and other rooftops can be heard so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

The centre of Cartagena can be really noisy during the night with loud music. Some maintenance would be necessary in the rooms.

The hotel was exceptional.It was very centrally located, so that we were able to walk everywhere. It was very clean and comfortable.The staff was exceptional. They were very inviting and warm. They gave us excellent recommendations ,from excursions to restaurants. They really had our best interests at heart, including our safety.I wholeheartedly recommend Sol del Alba in Cartagena Colombia.

Perfect location, great little balcony. Incredible service by everyone, especially Rodolfo at the front desk, Jhon at the bar, and Ivan - who literally walked us to our pier door to catch our boat to the islands. Beautiful property, breakfast was fast and very good. We were treated incredibly well by everyone during our two night stay, right from the start of the welcome tour. Room well appointed. Rodolfo went out of his way to help us with tours and managing our next hotel booking. Great people work here!

The staff at the hotel are excellent. Very friendly and helpful, and they offer good advice when needed - in particular, Rodolfo, Edwin and Santiago. The breakfast is very tasty, with fresh fruit too. The rooftop pool is very handy to have.

It’s a cozy small hotel very well decorated. When you go in, you forget about the chaos of the street. The staff is amazing, everyone made sure we had the best stay in Cartagena. Breakfast was good and big.

It has beautiful modern design. We stayed in a room with two beds and a balcony. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and came with beautiful embroidered linens. They provided bath robes, and fresh towels and cleaned our room every day. The room had a small safe to store your valuables and a big screen tv. The property is located inside the walled city of Cartagena which was ideal for us. It is within walking distance to all the shops, parks and activities inside Cartagena and an easy walk to Getsemani as well.

While we made it work, the room is very small and only came with a small hanging closet and shelves to store our clothes. It could have used a few well placed hooks to hang bath robes and backpacks for example.

Nice decorated room, friendly host!

The room was too small for the price in my opinion. The pool was fully in the sun 🌞, I was burned immediately. No parasol available. Breakfast options poor and as a vegetarian I received the egg baked in the same frying pan as where the ham was baked in, so I didn’t eat it because I tasted the ham. It was impossible to explain this to the person responsible for breakfast since he couldn’t speak English.

Everything about Sol de Alba is absolutely perfect! Very well decorated with every little detail carefully planned. Room was cozy, clean and very comfortable. Location is superb! Inside the Walled City (Ciudad Amurallada), right by the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj), a few steps from Getsemani neighborhood. Staff was incredibly helpful, kind and polite! I’d like to point out Mr. Alejandro, who went way and beyond to make us feel at home. Also, Alejandro took care of our check out process and personally made us capuccinos at 5 AM, so we could leave to catch our early flight. Simply perfect! Sol de Alba, pay attention to Alejandro, he would make a superb manager!

I have to say that the only negative point is the price charged for the M&M’s. I know hotel candies are always expensive, but I think that it went a little too far. And there’s no price table available to check before consuming.

Location meant we could return to the hotel for a break from the hot humid weather during the day, have a swim, cool off and go out again.

The hotel is located in the center of the entertainment district, which has the drawback that it will be noisy well past midnight. The hotel did warn us ahead of time.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and lovely design. Rooftop lounge area and pool were lovely for a dip in the hot afternoon and had great views of the sunset. Great air conditioning and nice shower. Breakfast was large and fresh with fruit, toast, eggs, sausage and yucca.

City view room had a nice balcony, but street could be noisy in the evening. We had white noise machine and it was fine.

Stuff was amazing, the location is central, internet was great anywhere in the hotel, pool is warm and clean, breakfast delicious and well served. I would totally recommend the place!

The rooms were a bit small and cramped. Although not the hotel's fault, the area is active with many bars and restaurants, some of which play loud music until 2 am. This seems to be true of most hotels in the old city. Ear plugs are recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hidden gem nestled within the historic Old City of Cartagena, Colombia, and I can't praise it enough. This hotel effortlessly combines a great location with impeccable charm, cleanliness, and a genuinely friendly atmosphere.

Great pool area to relax and great staff. The room was very comfortable.

Breakfast was served in a separate room without any daylight and we didn’t really know what we will get. Our room smelled a little bit musty when you first came in and there wasn’t a lot of space. We stayed in quite a few very nice hotels in Colombia and this was one of the most expensive ones

Overall, the property was clean, and tastefully decorated. The room itself was stocked with lotion, q-tips, robes, fridge, safe - and a welcome candy treat. Nice touch. The daily breakfast, while 'enough' was always the same, and became un-appetizing after the 2nd day of a 7-day stay. Change the menu items. What made this hotel extra, was the staff. Carlos, Alejandro, Jhon, Antonio - and all those whose names I have forgotten. They treated me like "familia." They escorted me at night, if I wasn't quite sure where a place was, offered dining, shopping and tour suggestions. Maria was caring, coming to the room to offer first aid, when my friend hurt herself. And Thomas Dorvaux, the General Manager was always around, ensuring everyone was attended to. First trip to Cartagena, and not the last. I will return to this hotel

The location in the center is quite good, though the noice of the nearby discos kept us awake till 2 in the morning, as they stopped than. One point, because we booked this hotel was the description sound proof, but the noice was so loud, that it feels like the discos are right next to your room. Our room was directly behind the outdoor lobby, so other guests would have been able to watch directly in our room, if the curtains weren’t closed.

The pool - small but efficiant

room close to other building roofs and when there was a power cut you could massively hear the generator which was super loud not really the hotels fault but need to be aware of this as power cut a frequent in Cartagena

Excellent communication upon booking, a beautiful, unique boutique hotel located in an incredible location - walking distance to many great spots! Incredible value too. But, the best part of our stay had to be the kindness and hospitality showed to us by the staff at Sol de Alba. The staff was superb! Everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Carlos, Aldofo and Milton especially. The location was excellent, easy access to all the sights.

The only drawback was there were no umbrellas in the outside areas. This could easily be remedied.

I had upgraded the room on booking.com. It stated that you would have a pool view. We looked out on some poorly finished roofs. Location is good the next two main square in some bars and you would hear loud music until after 2 AM.

This boutique hotel was in a great location, close to the harbor and within a 15 minute walk of anything in the walled city. The room was beautiful and well cleaned daily. The highlight was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and never hesitated to help us or offer suggestions for our stay.

It can be noisy at night, but this is unavoidable as it is near a lot of bars/nightclubs (just around the corner from Alchemico!)

Overpriced mini bar and rooftop drinks (55,000 COP or $13 for a mojito and 18,000 COP or $4.5 for a bottle of filtered water in the mini bar without seal that I interpreted it was free) . Terrible coffee, stained sheets, awkward glass-entry door into the room very hard to blockout and avoid being seen from the outside, fortress-like hotel doors that you have to knock on every time so someone can let you in, dark breakfast room without windows…
