Breakfast was extremely disappointing. Toaster a joke, scrambled eggs very runny, one coffee machine in the breakfast room, only muesli and coco pops offered as cereal on day one. Sheets on bed needed updating. Soap dispenser in basin and shower empty. On check in they tried to overcharge me for parking and pets - I had neither. Barking of dogs over 2 day stay annoying.

Cold room with AC blowing cold air . I asked if they could turn the heating up in my room as the AC was only blowing cold air. Reception told me they could adjust the temp. Nothing changed it just carried on blowing cold air. I told reception again as I left in the morning, its a shame my stay was slightly marred by this. Even the warming towel rail was off when I arrived

Location and cleanliness, we said on our last visit the the outside areas were very messy with rubbish and cigarette ash, but this time it was being kept lovely WELL DONE.

A large and well equipped room, a big and clean en suite bathroom. Very close to the beach and the promenade.

My room was facing the beach and the fairground, a bit noisy during the day when the fairground was working

The Location was brilliant on the front .it was a nice clean hotel with friendly staff .The bed was Huge .which is better than you get in some hotels .

Breakfast It would have been good if they had hot plates .The coffee machine has Luke warm water instead of hot tea and coffee .The toaster takes so long to get your toast done in time to have with your breakfast.

They charge extra for parking £15 per day. The spa, I was told, was for locals only, they sell their slots so it’s not avaible for customers.

The bathroom shower had extremely poor drainage issues. When showering water would cover a large area of the floor making water very slow to drain away. The bathroom itself smelt like a drainage issue which was noticeable from walking in the room each time. Parking is over charged £15! Parking in the local Council carpark is £9.90 for the same amount of time.

Quite poor every time went to breakfast no cutlery no yogught toaster rubbish never any fresh milk always empty never any cups . We went down at 9am every morning always Always had to ask for things

Located very close to beach and shops. Some lovely pubs nearby. Very comfortable super king bed.

Quite noisy at night as main road just below the window. Bins in need of deep clean as no bin bags used. Very dirty under the bed- even had previous guests rubbish/empty drinks bottles under bed on arrival. 2x guests staying but only had one bath towel- had to request another one from reception, which was brought up to room very quickly.

Sea view, bed comfortable and nice room

I spent £400 for 3 rooms for 1 night, rooms were lovely, no complaints, had nice sea view, problem started on check out ,when I checked out at the front desk I got not a thanks for you stay here, The guy with long hair at reception just snatched my room keys and said done, then I went to make a coffee at the machine and he was just staring at me like I was stealing the coffee, very uncomfortable, I know this is not Ibis Styles as I have stayed in many good ones. Won't be back to this one!

Easy to find, modern building, parking on site and in Mercure next door. Really comfy bed, nice big room, good shower and a desk with decent WiFi.

Couldn’t find a hairdryer, according to reception there should have been one but definitely wasn’t. And one teabag?? Bit stingy!

Poor choice for breakfast, got our room changed because we paid extra for a sea view and all we could see was the fairground. Asked for a extra pillow and it never arrived

The carpet had clearly not been hovered especially under the bed. The hand section of the shower fell apart and the shower flooded the bathroom every time because of poor design.

The location could not be better and the hotel is entirely air conditioned so the heatwaves were not a problem. No food in the evening but the partner Mercure had a superb menu and Ibis residents get 10% discount.

The bathroom was a mini wet room - the minimal shower screen meant the entire room was soaked requiring the guest to dry the floor to continue to use the sink and toilet for the rest of the day. If the minimal shower screen was full height or at least met the floor it would have been fine but the 10cm (4 inch) gap flooded the floor with splash water.

The Fair outside blocking the view from the front of the hotel. You couldn't sit outside once the fair opened as it was so noisy with the rides clunking and going ,their music was loud. Why, could the fair not pitch up the other way round so the bigger rides like Fun House, Terrifying Freddie to name just two of them face the other side of the green. Your hotel is there all year round the fair is there for 6 weeks of the year don't let them drive your customers away. Have your say to the Council. You have as much right as them.

Breakfast service terrible. Head chef can’t do fried eggs only scrambled. Staff don’t replenish breakfast items. Staff dispassionate and impartial to customers. Incident at hotel (police involved) was dealt poorly by staff. At check out, no one asked how our stay was. Only the staff member Asma was pleasant (she greeted us and was polite).

Proximity to ocean

Unfortunately the terrace was not cleaned, dirty ashtrays on tables, debris & leaves on floor in the morning. Not pleasant to have breakfast out there!

Staff were amazing, took very good care of us. There was a bit of confusion with the parking payment before we left but was sorted fairly quickly.

Payment for parking was quite alot, feel like it should just be kept for people actually staying at the hotel free of charge. Could do with some sort of security too as there was a man running around the hotel, threw a box at myself and police had to come sort him out. He managed to get into the office and staff only rooms. Police handled the situation very well but maybe some security would come in handy to try to prevent this from happening in future.

Hidden charges if your travelling with your pet dog nothing mentioned that it’s £15 a night and for what and to say it’s a new building I found that it’s more like a two star with dirty stained carpets in communal areas the bed rooms have marks on the walls which needs a fresh coat of paint it just seem very tired looking nothing like the photos on the wed site even the out side area where u can sit and have a drink the dog bowls where dirty and hadn’t been cleaned all week the floor was dirty and not been washed or mopped

The breakfasts was very poor, constantly have to ask for glass and cup.food running out so having ask it it to be replaced. Staff acted as you being pain for asking. Would not go back there

The air con was very helpful to have. I liked how close a lot of shops and sites were too. The sealife from the window was a nice touch.

Was a bit of noise from pubs some evenings but that's to be expected as I was near the pier.

Very low toilet particularly for my mum who has mobility issues. It was pretty low for me also. Static tap on sink was difficult to wash face in. More hangers needed.

The room smelt damp. There was a massive damp patch in corner of room. Whilst we asked about the damp spot and was there any issues with the room, we were never offered another room ( might not have taken it as already unpacked). All was said, they would let the cleaning staff know. Under the toilet seat was not clean. In the morning my partner found out that there was Hair dryer in room, as the staff stated was they would let the house keeping staff know. No effort to find one or anything. A poor stay to be honest, but great location, so that’s why not an even lower score.

Could do with a smoking area none smokers would like yo sit outside and enjoy the area without cigarette ash all over the tables and floor, that are not getting cleaned, outside floor hadn't been cleaned at all during our three night stay as stains on floor that were there on arrival were still there on our departure.

It was nice to relax and enjoy the sea views and all shops and restaurants/ pubs absolutely enjoyed!

Unclean bathroom , had to request it cleaning more than once as not done on the first time Only 1 member of staff welcoming One member of staff carrying bowls of pasta through car park entrance placed them on the floor to open a door (hopefully own food and not customer)

The hotel staff telephoned me and cancelled my stay when I was travelling down to Paignton stating there was a technical problem with the room even though I had checked in on line the day before . Only when I asked where we could stay they gave 2 options one of which was not in Paignton the other being the Travel lodge

Breakfast was good, restaurant stopped doing food at 5 pm though the bar was available after then. Location on the esplanade is good it is about 10 minutes walk to the town centre and train station. No idea on parking as I came by train!

The temporary funfair over the road blocked the view and was quite noisy , but to be fair they stopped at a reasonable time . Lack of a restaurant in the evenings, though the Mercure next door has a restaurant

Location right on the sea front, pleasant staff. Decent breakfast, although only the hot food seemed to be kept topped up. Clean.

No communication about lack of aircon before checking in, I booked this hotel specifically during the heat because I know it has air con from previous stays. No choice of pillows, all 3 in the room were soft and lumpy. The room could do with a fresh coat of paint, so many dirty marks on the wall or water marks somehow.

We found our stay very easy going, the bedroom was nice and the view was amazing. The staff were helpful and the place was kept nice and clean. Going for breakfast was sometimes busy but it was still a nice experiance and the food was laid out with alot of thought. We would be going back as we loved our stay and was in a good location for all that we wanted todo.

The only negative of the whole stay was the air conditioning didnt seem to keep the room cool enough and we found it a bit stuffy during the nights. But if we had asked at reception about it we may have managed to have a cooler room. But as we was out alot it didnt bother us as much and we left it as it was
