Good location for touring this part of Devon. The one thing that stood out was that all the staff were friendly and helpful.

The cost on booking. Com for the dog was £15 per night and when I got there it was £20 per night I was not happy to pay this extra charge as it should be there responsible to check the price is correct this was unfair to me and should have only been charged at the price seen at booking. Com

Hotel was 2 star at best. Fire door open constantly at far end of hotel and had people coming and going all day of foreign descent. Security risk left after 1 night

Facilities rather tired. Showers not really meeting a reasonable standard. Big windows but can only be opened 8 inches. So that could be an issue in very hot weather Reasonable buffet breakfast but rather strangely tomatoes and black pudding are “cooked to order”🤷

The man at Reception Oliver was abolsutely fantastic and so lovely, he's kindly let us check in a bit early as we had a wedding and the other option was checking in at midnight.

We loved the breakfast! So much choice and variety. Thank you. The staff were always cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much. The restaurant was clean and the food was tasty.

The shower needed descaling. There were cobwebs in our room and lots of dog hair on our bedroom floor. The bed was quite soft and after 3 nights we had a backache.

The included breakfast was exceptional. Very comfortable bed. The room was clean and spacious and parking was free and easy to access.

No lift

Very welcoming reception team, we had bikes and they very kindly found somewhere secure overnight. Easy check in and out process.

The bathrooms are clean but showing their age

We were ignored at Reception for 20 minutes by 3 separate staff

Good location within easy reach of supermarket, town and canal-side walk, plenty of free parking, large room.

Room was hot, very large windows which only open a few inches so hard to get any air in, curtains had been left open despite very warm day so room had been heated by the sun and there was no fan.

Clean, spacious bedroom dog friendly. Staff were fantastic nothing was too much much trouble, great buffet breakfast , has an evening meal was also great .

Bathroom needed an upgrade and pillows were lumpy

We stay here every year, and this year has been no exception to the warm welcome, friendly staff and warm environment. The entrance area and bar/breakfast area has changed massively since last year.....what an amazing uplift! We will be back soon. 5 stars as always

The renovated areas were amazing and the staff were unbelievably helpful. It was a great touch how comfy the reception and dining area was including the pool table.

The value for money was great but you get what you pay for our room we unfortunately very dated and therefore quite dirty with age related marks and peeling wall paper but it’s what you expect for the price. I can’t comment on the renovated rooms as we required and accessible room and therefore that wasn’t yet renovated, would like to see it once it is though. The main downside was some of the food was way too over seasoned the gammon was bad and even the breakfast hash browns were salty.

We were travelling for a friends funeral and a group of us stayed at the hotel. For what we paid it was great value. the staff were all excellent. The parking was good and plentiful. Breakfast was also very good. Very welcoming.

The whole place could do with a facelift as it is a bit tired throughout.

Stayed for 3 nights, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. There was only one working light in the room. We were three people staying in the room, but only two towels were provided, so we had to ask for an additional towel every day. The breakfast was also disappointing, with very limited vegetarian options. Every day, I informed the reception staff that the lights in our room were not working. Each time, they assured me that they would inform the maintenance team and have the issue fixed. However, nothing was done, and the lights were still not working when we checked out. On the second day, the housekeeping staff left a dirty wipe and a full, unopened pack of tissue rolls in the room. I raised this issue with the reception team as well, but again, no one made any effort to resolve the complaint. My parents’ room had an issue with the toilet flush. The reception staff gave them the same assurance that maintenance would fix it, but once again, no one bothered to resolve the problem before checkout. Overall, the biggest disappointment was not just the maintenance and housekeeping issues, but the lack of action from the staff despite repeatedly reporting the problems. We expected much better service and attention during our stay.

The room was clean (cleaned daily), the hotel & general location was quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable - everything I could ask for from a hotel. Good location for exploring both north & south coasts as it's fairly central.

*The room & decor is very dated and the whole place could do with modernising. *The shower head in the bathroom was poor and didn't throw out mush water

Excellent value for money. The staff were great, really friendly. We were offered a complimentary drink when we checked in which was a really nice touch. There was a good selection of breakfast options which was buffet style, couldn't fault it. The room was very clean.

The beds were comfortable enough but a tiny bit soft for me personally.

Location is on the edge of everywhere so the town was within walking distance aswell as Tescos :) breakfast catered to all inclusive of cereal, continental to full English, pastries and many choices of drinks hot & cold Everywhere was DOG friendly.

The exterior had debris, cigarette stubs drink cans and was in a poor condition. The staff member was cavalier and unwelcoming. Loud music with unpleasant odour on entering the building. Run down with no investment. We have requested a full refund! I do not recommend this hotel under any circumstances!

The staff were lovely. Plenty of parking. Wifi good. Room had lots of space. Had an evening meal which was nice. Shower was powerful and hot.

Ground floor room comfortable, bed was comfy and breakfast was good. Close to venue and easy to get to listened to requests for ground floor due to mobility issues

Was very warm no fan or Aircon, shower made choo chop noise after being on for a couple of minutes and the plumbing was very loud, could hear the TV from other rooms next door lights flickered alot when turned on

No air conditioning only a fan, no proper shower and the hand held shower unit was very weak and taking a shower was extremely cramped with a clingy shower curtain.

Great welcome. Great staff. Very good value for the stay. Had a slight problem with one of our meals, which was addressed really professionally. A meal was served missing a key ingredient, but we were not told before ordering. We were offered a voucher for a free drink.

The really off-putting strong "smell" in the foyer. We asked and apparently the "smell" is for the hotel brand. Needs heavily toning down. Menu stated a meal should have been served with "multiple" of one item and when asked we were told the menu was incorrect.....

Die Zimmer sind renovierungsbedürftig, insbesondere das Bad lies wünschen übrig. Im Zimmer hat es Pflege und Sauberkeit gemangelt. Es war zwar auszuhalten – aber für den Preis könnte man mehr erwarten.

Lovely downstairs, not far from the M5 motorway. Breakfast was excellent.

The bigger bed in the family room was uncomfortable and the bathroom could have done with a bit more cleaning along with the window cill. The rooms are slightly old fashioned but absolutely fine really for what you want.

The room is functional with everything you would need, very clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety, both hot and cold. fresh fruit, yogurt, pain du chocolate, the usual fruit juices. all options of hot food, The newly refurbished lounge, restaurant and games area are excellent.

The service in the restaurant was poor on this particular evening.

Lovely huge room ,really comfy bed ,all very clean . Was perfect for us to break journey going back home to Cornwall . Lovely breakfast ,really enjoyed the fruit compot and fresh yoghurt plus warm fresh croissants. Would definitely stay here again .

The coffee was a bit grim ,I think to offer a cafatiere wd be better for people that like a good coffee to start the day !
