The location
The eating area could be improved (better lighting, better looking furniture, etc)
Everything was great Beautiful place Very clean Very helpful and friendly staff
Poor WiFi
We had an amazing stay at Amila Dive Beach Resort. The resort is small and exclusive with only a few rooms, which creates a very personal and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and just a few steps from the beach. The diving was outstanding. The dive team was professional, safety-conscious, and knew the local dive sites extremely well. We enjoyed beautiful coral reefs, plenty of marine life, and well-organized boat dives. This is definitely one of the best dive resorts in Sipalay. The staff made our stay truly special. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The food was excellent, with a great variety of local and international dishes, and every meal was freshly prepared. If you are looking for a peaceful beachfront resort with fantastic diving, excellent service, and a welcoming family atmosphere, Amila Dive Beach Resort is the perfect choice. We will definitely return and highly recommend it to divers, couples, and anyone looking to experience the beauty of Sipalay.
We have to leave so early. We would love to stay longer.
Quiet, amazing food
A little more garbage on the beach than I would have liked, but understandable.
Unser Zimmer hatte leider keinen Balkon. Es gab keinen Wasserspender.
Food is good, staff were acommodating and friendly.
Beach was not I was expecting.
The noise from the barangay during the nighr was a bit too much
Bed, breakfast and pool
Don't allow any outside food or drinks, so force you to eat and drink there at tourist prices And no TV
The rooms, the set out, the build, the quietness
The beach was not really swimmable
Nice room in garden setting. Friendly staff. Good food. Quiet at night.
We were not able to swim in the sea as the tide was very low all day.
Das Resort liegt sehr ruhig, man kann sehr gut relaxen. Das Essen war gut und die Mitarbeiter waren super nett und hilfsbereit.

I liked everything in this place Specially the quiet sunset on the beach Staff is exceptionnal
Quiet, nice design, incredible view on beach, sunsets
.
Great location, top notch staff and the owner was present and personable.
Weather didn't cooperate, but we made the most of our anniversary trip regardless.
Quality of the Included Breakfast is a major bonus…for a party of two it 100% adds to the determination of the value of the booking decision ….. Keeps me coming back.
Seriously, there is no better VALUE in the area. Depends on what you are looking for. This is my staple whenever I visit.
The beds that are 2 feet deep, the 100 pillows that are cloud thick yet also soft. The FREE breakfast. The view from the cheap seats. There is nothing I didn't like.
Clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly, efficient and proactive staff. Practical amenities. Excellent menu providing tasty and well presented food. Charming location with well tended garden. Quiet and peaceful at night.
The approach road has seen better days!
The breakfast was excellent each day and ordering convenient by establishing the order through the staff the night before or through email.
The A/C wasn't as strong as I would have preferred but the resort makes up for that by having a generator during brown outs. Although the room had a ceiling fan, another portable fan would be ideal.
Always enjoyable stay here. We have been several times. Tobias and his staff alwats take extra measures to ensure a great stay.
Very nice location, at the public beach. During low tide its a bit difficult to swim though. Rooms are lovely and spacious. We loved the homey feeling of the resort and the fact that its not so big. Nice to talk to the owner who advised us to take daytrip to Danjugan Island which was a day filled with nice nature and swimming. We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful time!
Everything
maybe a bar fridge in room
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Need more white sand and girls on the beach.
We had the best stay in Amila Dive Beach Resort. The location is just perfect if you prefer a calm and relaxing environment. If you like an adventure, you can drive from Dumaguete to Sipalay with the motorcycle or arrange a pick up with Amila Dive Beach Resort. The property is very clean and the staff is just amazing helpfull and nice! They offer a tour too Danjugan Sanctuary and we highly recommend to do this tour. The price is very effordable and the snorkling scenary is breath taking! You don’t need to leave the resort for breakfast or diners, the food is really good. Lastly, we were so lucky to withness for the first time the hatching of baby turtles just in front of the beach. It was truly, our highlight of the vacation! Thank you Tobias for this wonderfull stay. It was just perfect!!
The location was great, the room faced the beach. Only 8 rooms, lovely and quiet. Excellent personal service. Beautiful pool. The room was really well appointed. I would definitely go back
Lovely place on the beach right across from Danjugan Island that we had already planned to visit. The food was good as were the cocktails. Tobias and Sophie were great. There are also kayaks and snorkelling gear to hire.
Beautiful place with amazing ocean views! Will return.
It was very cozy and easy to get around within the resort.
The location itself does not have a good view of the beach. It is snuggled between a locals area which can’t be helped.
Excellent, the service is superb.
Very good kitchen, private comfortable space tucked away on the beach with local fishermen for neighbors and easy access to the ocean. Truly worth every peso.
Nothing to complain about.
The resort itself is very nice. Staff are friendly and very helpful especially the owner of the resort. Guests were like a big family during the dinner time chatting across tables and chatting with Tobias. There is a good size food shop near by to buy fruit and snacks.
The only problem I faced was mosquitoes as they kept coming from under the door and loud neighbours.
Staying in this resort was AmilA-Mazing. All of the staff were very accommodating and kind. They were very approachable and helpful. The food was very delicious. The menu had a variety of food. AS IN GUYS ITS SO GOOD!!! 100% recommend if you want to hangout and have a good time with your friends and family.
The resort is excellent, peaceful, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. However, the food could be improved. Incorporating local ingredients, such as fresh seafood, would be a great addition. Also, television will be good too
The rooms are nice, modern and clean, the staff and the owner is kind, friendly and helpful. Restaurant area is also nice, modern and well designed. There is a small private sandy area by the pool and the restaurant, which is clean and well-maintained. Food is good, although I recommend to order extra side-dish to almost all dishes, because the portions are not too big (not even for my girlfriend) but it is sonething very common in Philippines as we travelled around.
I want to emphasize that the following remarks I am about to mention are not the resorts’s fault, but its worth knowing if you like to explore the nearby area. If you go a few steps further from the pool, you reach the beachfront by the sea, which is public and there are lots of trash with broken glasses, and unfortunately a lot of sick stray dogs running around, and there is dog poop along the beach, which is not something we were looking for to spend 12 nights with, because we really wanted to swim in the sea and walk on the beach. If you want to walk along the beach I recommend wearing water shoes, and if you are sensitive to see people living in very bad conditions (e.g half-collapsed wooden bungalows, small children with bare foot running and playing among broken glasses etc.) I recommend to take day trips to the nearest islands instead (Danjugan Island, Turtle Island, Sugar Beach), which are clean and really nice to take a walk at. Originally we are from Hungary so we have seen poverty and people living in very bad conditions, but this was really touching and we felt sad for the people and for the sick dogs.
Breakfast many choices The staff fantastic very pleasant very help full the owners fantastic Help And help us pick excursions throw out our stay Every member staff was fantastic look after us All the other guests very pleasant Couldn't of ask for better service Will be Booking agane in two weeks
Couldn't of ask for anything better
Very good meal selection, especially the breakfast. Excellent and helpful staff, and had a good chat with the owner who was available our whole stay.
First impressions are good - modern, clean, beachside with a nice pool. We’d booked for 3 nights. The room was comfortable. The food choice was good (Philippino and some more western dishes) and priced quite reasonably for a place like this. The staff were friendly. The resort is trying to do its bit in terms of environmental considerations. We did a half day trip to a local island for snorkelling etc. which was very good value.
The location is beachside but remote - there’s nowhere else we could find to eat or drink locally so it’s the hotel offering or nothing. The resort has the feeling of sometimes being for the convenience of the staff rather than guests. E.G. The bar closes at 9pm and we were told to eat at 7.30pm as dinner service stops at 8. You have to order food at least an hour or so in advance (but at least that should mean it’s freshly cooked). Housekeeping was erratic - the room was not serviced unless requested and they forgot to put the hot water on for the first 2 days. I’m all for saving the planet with less laundry etc. but at this price point I expect my bed to be made and the bin emptied etc. There are lots of rules, cctv and staff giving orders to each other via loud walky talkies which sometimes spoils the atmosphere a little! After pre-paying for the room and breakfast via this app I was very surprised to be asked to leave a 1500 peso ‘security deposit’ - in cash. And sign some sort of waiver..that’s a first for me. The rooms need tvs for the price point (also it would give guests something to do after 9pm). The room facilities need a little more attention - for example although advised to ‘lock valuables away’ the safe is tiny so laptop etc vulnerable. The ‘fresh’ coffee in a jar for use with the machine was too coarsely ground to make a drink. The outdoor seating for the ground floor bedrooms needs rethinking as our neighbour’s chairs were partially in front of room’s full length window. But you can go and sit on the beach. The sun loungers and chairs need cushions. The provided towels are poor quality. The pool needs depth indicators - there is an unmarked ‘deep end’ which was a surprise (but could be worse for someone who can’t swim!)
Location is right in front of Danjugan Island. Room size is very big.
No toiletries provided
Immer wieder super im Amila. Tauchen, Essen, Zimmer alles top. Hervorragender Service, sehr leckeres Essen. Sehr schöne gepflegte Anlage mit schönem Pool, direkt am Strand. Ich freue mich schon auf nächstes mal.
i will definitely come back. it is a spot to visit if i want peace and quiet. Food superb! Accommodation excellent!
Amila resort, but more importantly the staff and owners absolutely have a special place in our hearts. From the first communication to the last good bye, this intimate dive resort makes you feel like family. The rooms were cozy, cool and the bed was so comfortable, sometimes hard to leave! The food was absolutely delicious and made fresh with love every meal. Often times we would chat with the owners and staff, which for us was just wonderful learning about their culture and perspectives. The diving was good, with short boat rides to the sites and good action under the water. We brought our own equipment but the gear others used was top notch. We would not hesitate to come back. Its hard to find a resort like this, where everyone goes out of their way to make your trip special. Book it already!
The place is amazing and the staff is very accomodating... The place is best if you want to relax and spend well your weekend with family... They also have a complete diving facilities and staff that will make your diving experience worth it... Their food is excellent aswell that is worth every penny that you spent... Overall it was a nice experience with amila.Definitely will go back at this place...
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful beach resort. The property is small size added to its charm, and the elegant and serene atmosphere made it the perfect retreat. My room was a highlight, with a lovely balcony offering stunning views of the ocean. (A right height of the chair in the balcony could be more comfortable.) The local staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. I was impressed by the multitasking abilities of the team members, who seemed to effortlessly juggle multiple tasks with ease. One suggestion I would like to make is to store the wine and liquor in a temperature-controlled environment to maintain their quality and allow guests to fully appreciate their flavors. The food at the resort was exceptional, with a special shout-out to the talented chef who prepared delicious dishes. However, I did notice that some items on the menu were occasionally unavailable, which could lead to frustration for guests. To address this, I would recommend separating occasional items into a separate menu or offering advance notice when they're not available. The rooms were immaculately clean, well-laid out, and boasted high ceilings that added to their sense of spaciousness. Few minor issue I noticed was the shower drainage, which was not elevated well. However, I was informed that the owner is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. Paper menu in the rooms could ruin the elegant of the room and I would suggest a QR code could enhance the experience. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this beach resort, and I would highly recommend it to others. With a few tweaks to address some minor issues, it could truly be a one of the best destination in Negros Occidental . Nonetheless, I appreciated the attention to detail and dedication to providing excellent service from the staff."
Beautifull location, excellent accomodation and serivce. Specially suited for travellers who enjoy a more tranquile experience. The resort is in the middle of nature, at the beach, with tremendous sunset views. Just relax at the infitiy pool or do some local activities such as scuba diving, kayaking, paddle boarding or take a tour to a nearby uninhabited island with a turtle sanctuary, batt and python caves and do local snorkling and kayanking. Absolutely recommended for a relaxed and tranquile holiday experience
I love how the resort is so serene and beachfront with a pool. The owner and staff were really nice and accomodating. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy and bidet in the toilet. The property is a mixture of rustic and industrial vibe design.
During our trip to Sipalay, Negros Occidental, we had a break from our project and took the opportunity to visit a first class resort in Bulata. Amila Dive Beach Resort hit the spot. The resort is owned and operated by Tobias and Sophie, a very welcoming couple. If you are looking for a break from the normal, this is the place.
Excellent, no complaints, food, scenery, hospitality, like other reviewers, recommend this business. Gourmet food, pristine pool. Quiet, relaxing, uncrowded, no tv take a book, or walk on the beach at night under the phillipine stars.
This is our most recent of many past stays at Amila. We always stay at Amila when we travel to Sipalay to visit my wifes family. Tobias , his wife (owners) and their entire staff are are nothing short of terrific. The location is so good, restaurant food delicious, sunsets amazing.
They have great staff and delicious meals.
When its low tide.
Best place for divers if you are one because the diving spots are near. For those looking for entertainment there isnt any but me and my girlfriend enjoyed the peace and quiet. We also availed the Danjugan Island tour which was also nice.
The facility is nice and clean. Foods are really good and good amount per serving and the staff were so nice
We didn't like the beach. Hope they put more effort into cleaning it everyday coz you can't really swim in their. go island hoping instead and pool location must've been closer to the villas than in their resto
My second time at Amila Dive Beach Resort. The Resort is well maintained. We stayed again at the Superior Room and it was like the first time. Great Mattress and Pillows. The Staff is still the same friendly and always happy to help or answer questions. This time we did a Tour to Danjugan Island, i would everyone recommend to stay there for a half or full day to explore the nature. The food and cocktails at Amila are great experience and we are very happy. Try the Bulata Bomb (Gin) :-). Good WiFi a nice infinity pool and watching the sunset every day. Thats what we looked for. This is not the last time at the resort.
Beautiful resort for peacefull relaxing at the beach. Not crowded with tourist. Excellent condition of resort & rooms. Clean & safe Pool. The food & coffee is awsome! You can even get few german inspired dishes & drinks, if you want have a bit european vibe. Definitely gonna revisit this place few times!
The friendly and hospitable staff made us feel very welcome from our arrival to our departure. Tobias, the owner, came to greet us not long after we arrived and he was always around to answer our questions or to simply check in on us. The comfortable bed and heavenly pillows gave us a good night's rest each time. Also, we liked how we were able to refill our water bottles at the bar as part of the resort's policy to eliminate single-use plastic. It's just a short boat ride to Danjugan Island, where you have the option to explore the island, go snorkeling, scuba dive, or paddle along its beaches. The beach on the resort itself is very small and not the best place for swimming, but it has a small pool that some might enjoy.
A little soundproofing in the rooms could make for a better experience. We are not super-early risers, and we could hear doors slamming as well as bathroom doors sliding open and closed as early as 7am. This is just an observation: We understand the rationale behind the quarter-full containers, but filling the shampoo/soap bottles and coffee/sugar jars halfway might provide better optics. How about using smaller vessels instead?
Absolutely in love with this place ! Food was delicious. Service was good as well and danjugan is just in front of the resort! The staffs were very helpful and the owners are very nice ❤️ A very satisfying place will definitely go back again here ! ❤️
Very nice place. Tobias and his staff are always so friendly. Nice view. Good food.
Not crowded with tourist. Excellent condition of resort & rooms. Clean & safe Pool. The food & coffee is awsome! You can even get few german inspired dishes & drinks, if you want have a bit european vibe. Definitely gonna revisit this place few times!
Location and view were very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort was very clean and organised. The owner was very active with your requests from scuba diving to island tours. You can pre-order your meals to make it easier for breakfast and dinner.
I thought the resort was going to be a little bigger, but it was not an issue. The swimming pool was small but nice it had some shade in the morning and afternoon.
The resort is gorgeous, clean and private, with an exceptional view of the lagoon and offshore islands, and nice sunsets. The grounds are beautiful, and the room was very spacious and clean, with high quality western-style mattresses. The food is of very high quality, including European options, and the staff are all friendly and hard working.
Nothing could have been better, it was an exceptional stay.
Amila Beach Resort on Negros, Philippines, is a haven of simplicity and tranquility. Nestled along the pristine shoreline, the resort offers a peaceful retreat without the distractions of dive facilities. The well-appointed rooms, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the ocean, provide a comfortable sanctuary for relaxation. The attentive staff ensures a pleasant stay, and the beachfront ambiance invites moments of serenity. Amila Beach Resort, with its understated charm, is an ideal choice for those seeking a quiet escape in the heart of Negros.
The property was modern and good construction. very clean. Staff exceptional and hosts very nice.
No fridge or TV in the upper rooms.
It is very peaceful and chill
The best welcome we could have. We arrived weary after a long flight from England after some flight cancellations. They responded to my emails straight away and kept in excellent communication with us and arranged a long taxi drive from airport. As we arrived in torrential rain, they were there with umbrellas, welcome drinks and a smile. Rooms very exceptionally clean, service 10/10 and all staff friendly.
Satisfied with breakfast
Improve extra bed mattress.
This truly has to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been fortunate enough to visit. It took my breath away at almost every turn. We got an amazing room closer to the beach with magnificent view of the Sunset. This hotel by far has the best food, excellent customer service and cleanliness hands down. All parts of the hotel are constantly being cleaned and kept in order. Poolside drink and food service was also exceptional, we enjoyed the food choices and our servers were always so pleasant. Highly recommend this hotel if you are seeking for Serenity and enjoying Life Simple Pleasures from Sunrise to Sunset. We love this hotel so much and we would stay here over and over again.
Limited Accessible Ramp Railings
The staff , the room , the combination of amazing see with islands and pool, the good food , the friendly owner. Highly recommended
No outside food
The location was truly exceptional, a calm oasis looking out to danjugan with a beautiful sunset every evening. The staff were attentive to our needs, and the food was freshly prepared, tasty and HUGE portions. The complimentary breakfasts were also a pleasant surprise! The rooms were well appointed and clean, with good AC and facilities. The ocean-view room we stayed in had a blockbuster view every hour of the day Easy access to Danjugan for day-trips, and a partnership with easydiving.ph for a days diving turns this relaxing, luxury stay into a jump-off point for a couple of days adventure. 10/10 stay here if you want to breakaway, relax, chill out and drink mojitos by the pool while watching the best sunset youve ever seen.
That we had to leave. 5 days wasn't enough.
Very nice clean well maintained resort. The food was excellent at the on site restaurant. The resort staff was exceptional. Tobias (owner) greeted us each morning and evening making sure everything was good. Niecel (the staff lead) was also so helpful ensuring everything was good.
No complaints
I dont think i have something to like about the resort.
Below are the list of things that happened to us! How frustrating and a total waste of money! 1. When we booked we were asked how many adults and children and we were told on our last day children are supposedly not allowed! 2.Our kids are playing in the pool(small sized) and is attached to the dining area.On our first day,the kids are okay playing,no one told us that they can swim but cannot do”splashes”as the water spills to the dining room floor. On the 2nd day, when the owner himself is entertaining a guest of the resort at the dining area , he stands and told our kids that “this is not a public pool for you to play”. How insulting! We have pools in our homes, they dont go to “public pools” just to experience what it is to play on a pool, we are guests and i think we can make use of the only amenity the resort has! 3. No outside food allowed but on the 2nd day, when we ordered we were told they will check if the have left to serve! 4. Food on the menu is ridiculously overprized.Price ranges from 450 for a single serve spaghetti to 700 pesos single serve viand!!! 5.One of our family member brought an acoustic guitar and was playing one morning outdoor, the owner told him to stop playing because it might disturb other guests. The resort has 8 rooms,we occupied 6, can an acoustic guitar played in the open really disturb the 2 other guests?
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Room modern with coffee maker and real arabica. The food had a nice presentation and the taste was delicious. We loved the privacy at this little paradise with all his plants.
We did not like to leave.. the time was to short.. next time we will stay longer we promise!
