Super vriendelijk personeel en de locatie was fantastisch en lekker rustig. Tevens op maar 10 minuutjes met de tuktuk naar ons favoriete restaurant : Jeeva’s garden Restaurant🥰
Niets eigenlijk
Prachtige grote kamers. Mooi zwembad. Heerlijk ontbijt.

Beautiful little property , simple theme and very boutique
Pool could have been cleaner , a telephone is needed to communicate with staff
Der besondere Charme und die Ruhe.

there are only 4 rooms in this property.the room is clean and big.the staff is friendly and always there to help you.if you want a quaiet place to rest this is it
The location its a bit far from the main road and sometimes difficult to find a tuk tuk .the breakfast is poor.the pool was a bit dirty.
Beautiful property, lovely rooms very nicely designed. Staff so helpful and kind. Good breakfasts. Quiet, clean and tranquil.
A little bit far from town but the guy who lives next door has a tuktuk!
The location was slightly outside the main area however it was only about 5 minutes in on a motorbike. The staff were super helpful which made our stay so great. The pool and facilities were very clean. Overall, a fabulous time staying at Zen House.
The location was slightly further away from the main centre than what we wanted. There are also monkeys that run on the roof during the night which can be very loud but out of Zen House' control.
Sehr schönes Anwesen! Tolle ruhige Lage, klein und fein 👌 .
Einzige negativ war der Kaffee. Eine gute Kaffeemaschine wäre eine gute Investition
We loved our stay at Zen House - it's a small boutique place with just 4 rooms. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the garden and pool area are lovely spaces. We particularly enjoyed that the surroundings were quiet, but we were able to travel over to Ahangama for the best coffees, cafes and beach with a short tuktuk ride (5 mins). Also, a special thank you to the staff for being really attentive!
Breakfast was included, but any further food (lunch or dinner) needs to be ordered (a bit in advance) and the prices are on the higher end.
I loved that is was located a short ride away from the busy streets of ahangama, it was very secluded, tranquile, and it was very nice to walk around in the nabourhood. The place itself is beautiful, so are the staff working there. Food is great, had a massage that was excellent.
Unfortunately, Zen House was the least hospitable hotel throughout our entire Sri Lanka vacation. As soon as we entered our room, they knocked on our door and demanded payment. Before check-out, they interrupted breakfast to remind us of the check-out time, and while we were packing up, they knocked again, demanding payment for what we had eaten. If you don't want to handle these things as guests are leaving, collect the hotel fee before check-in and use instant payment in the restaurant. Interrupting breakfast to demand payment at a specific time, and knocking on doors demanding payment while people are in their rooms – is this appropriate for a hotel of this caliber? However, the hotel itself is beautiful, surrounded by greenery, and clean. The pool only comes up to our waists, making it an inconvenient swimming experience. It's far from the center, requiring Uber or Pickme, but even then we struggled, as there were times when the app needed a suitable vehicle. Restaurant options are limited, and waiting times for orders are long. The toilet flush in one of our rooms broke, and they spent about an hour repairing it; the flush in our other room was also weak. A management touch focused on Sri Lankan hospitality and customer satisfaction is needed. This was our 3rd trip to Sri Lanka, we’ll come as long as we live but we’ll never stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely stunning and looks just like the photos online. It’s quiet and chilled, with only having 4 rooms which is lovely. We paid extra for the nicest room for our honeymoon and it was beautiful. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Went to extra efforts for our honeymoon, ordered us tuk tuks constantly and were just generally very friendly. The location is great! It’s not in the centre of Ahangama but in the backstreets where it’s quite residential and chilled but there is a great selection of restaurants and cafes you can walk too. There’s a lovely cafe 1 min walk away from the hotel and the others are about ten minutes away. We absolutely loved The Kip and Sea.sons for brunch and dinner and it was nice to not have to venture into the busy centre sometimes. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want something a bit higher end but small.
The hotel wasn’t cheap and I do think there are a few small improvements that could be made if I’m being picky. Firstly the WiFi doesn’t reach the bedrooms or pool area which was frustrating. Breakfast was ok but not amazing and also had to be ordered the night before so we actually went out a few times for breaky instead. Lunch was nice but the day we arrived half the menu wasn’t available and we couldn’t even order a coffee which was disappointing. Lunch and one drink then took an hour to be made which was a really long time to wait to say there was only two of us eating. We over ordered as the menu didn’t explain that some dishes came with chips so we ended up with more than we needed. The room and bathroom were huge but there wasn’t a full length mirror or a mini fridge which could easily fit. No mirror in the bedroom at all. We had access to a water filter machine but it wasn’t cold. This sounds a bit odd but the bath and pool towels were a very strange quality and the only way I describe them was like getting dry on a thin crispy tea towel. Not nice at all and very rough on the skin, especially if you have sunburn. They were lovely to look at and went with the aesthetic of the hotel but a nice fluffy towel would have been more comfortable. Lastly the bathroom was so hot! There wasn’t a fan or air con in there so by the time you got out the shower and got sorted you’d be sweating in need of another shower. Only the bathroom had a mirror, not the bedroom so you had to get ready in the bathroom which made it worse. The room only has shutters and no curtains so it was pitch black in the morning and no daylight coming through. Same in the bathroom so you either had to open the shutters and let flys in to get some air or keep them shut and be in the hot and dark. A voile over the main door would be good as people round the pool could see you laying in bed during the day if you wanted to be inside with the shutters open, it wasn’t very private.
My stay was calm and truly homely. The staff were extremely sweet and made us feel very comfortable throughout.
The place
Is was a good place , pleasant. It is not a 5 star , but more 4. Personnel is good, but the restaurant was not open and the breakfast is not worthy the 15 dollars. It is good, but not so good.
Beautiful house inside jungle! Great breakfast!
We love this place. The team are great and the rooms are excellent. This is the second time we have stayed there.

Very easy to get into town from Zen House - 5min tuktuk - good location. Lovely pool, lovely decor, friendly staff, super accommodating.
The western breakfast options could have been fresher/better but the Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious!
A peaceful, minimalist space that truly lives up to its name. Surrounded by nature and calm energy, it’s the perfect place to unwind. The staff were kind, attentive, and made the stay feel special.
A Slice of Paradise – Our Unforgettable Stay at Zen House Staying at Zen House was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were embraced by an atmosphere of peace and beauty, a Every corner of the space feels curated to inspire calm and connection—with nature, with ourselves, and with each other. But what truly sets Zen House apart is the energy. There's a spirit in this place that fosters reflection, creativity, and joy. We are deeply grateful for the care and love that clearly goes into making Zen House what it is. It’s more than a place to stay—it’s an experience that stays with you. We can’t wait to return.
The staff couldn’t have been nicer they helped us a lot and were very kind. The whole atmosphere of this place is very zen and very nice. The rooms also have good bathrooms Aircon and beds. We also saw monkeys while eating a good breakfast.

Property was very quiet and relaxing. Modern furnishings with a good size room.
Breakfast was average compared to the other hotels we had stayed at in Sri Lanka. Service could be a bit more attentive but overall good.
Beautiful place very stylish - great staff very friendly and delicious Sri Lankan breakfast . Nice and secure my room was very spacious with all amenities available . Tranquil setting with pool !
I did not enjoy sharing a table for breakfast with other people too early in the morning to be listening to people’s problems or harsh German accents. Sun loungers were dirty and cushions outside could do with a clean . Beside little fault it is an amazing place to stay
Tucked away which makes it a true zen house! It's very quiet, and with the pool you can easily spend days there just relaxing. Good location from which you can do day trips to several beaches or Galle
The staff is lovely and the breakfast is great, I wouldn't recommend eating at the house besides breakfast though. We did and the food simply wasn't good, I recommend making your way out to the main street
The breakfast was great! They did a great continental breakfast as well as a Sri Lankan breakfast which was my favorite. The place was so peaceful as we were the only guests... The pool was amazing. Loved our stay there!
Honestly our experience was more than satisfactory and I don't particularly have any complaints. The only thing was probably that they did not have a dinner menu which meant we had to seek out dinner elsewhere which was not an issue. I think this was because we went during off-season but other than that everything was amazing.
The property was clean and comfortable and great for relaxing. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
The breakfast.
Zen House is a jewel. With just four rooms everything has been carefully created to offer a true retreat. The service from the manager, chef and gardener was exemplary and kindness itself. Book it when you can.
A sign on the gate would make it easier to find!
Perfect for families. Also very good 150mbps Internet quality for those working remotely
Location is bit far
Very calm and pastoral hotel, only open since December 23, relatively far from the beach but that’s what gives the privet feeling. The environment was good and so the team.
We had bad experience of stealing at the hotel that hurts our trust.
Absolutely everything! By a long way the best place we stayed anywhere in sri lanka. Stylish, relaxing, everything spotlessly clean, lovely chilled muic playing throughout, all of the staff couldn't be more helpful and on hand for your every need. The rooms were spacious and well appointed with high quality furnishings and toiletries, felt bit like you were in a spa. Ahanghama was one of our favourite places on our trip and definitely our favourite on the coast and the staff and owners had some excellent recommendations for our time there for delicious food and lovely sunset drinks!
That we didnt have the time to stay longer!
