The location and pool overlooking Kandy. The rooftop restaurant had good food too.

The staff didnt seem to know what time the in-house restaurants were open and I was also charged for my toddlers breakfast when I was repeatedly informed that she was free of charge.

We had a lovely stay at The Tree Kandy in Sri Lanka. The hotel is in a beautiful and peaceful setting, with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the highlights was the rooftop infinity pool with cafe. The views from the pool were absolutely amazing, especially while relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Kandy. It was a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. The location was great for experiencing the beauty of Kandy, while the hotel itself provided a peaceful place to relax. We also enjoyed the food and the warm hospitality. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at The Tree Kandy and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. We would happily stay here again!

Staff were not all that helpful or friendly. The food was good, but not good value for money. I was on the third floor, first room from the elevator. Every time the elevator was used, I could hear the grinding sound and metallic thumps through my walls.

Two of our group had a lovely non lake view room. We had a lake view room which was smaller than others (at end of corridor - room 101!). It was really noisy near a service/housekeeping area waking us up at 5am each day. The room key didn't work and we had a physical key. The safe was locked shut on our arrival so we couldn't use it, and three separate phone calls were required before someone came to fix it. If we hadn't had these issues I would have given the hotel a top rating.

Had a wonderful stay at The Trees, Kandy. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent service. The place was very welcoming and comfortable, and I truly enjoyed my time there. Would definitely recommend it!

A NOTER Au petit dejeuner Les café autre que le café américain sont payants !!! Expresso Capuccino et autres café. Etc … À NOTER ÉGALEMENT Dans ma chambre 02 mns only d’eau chaude pour la douche !!! Après réclamation, rien n’a été fait. Cet hôtel mérite vraiment un management différent. Je mets 6 et pas plus.

Die Lage und der Blick waren toll! Auch das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.

Hotel espectacular

L'emplacement surplombant le lac. On était à Kandy le deuxième et le troisième jour du perahera. En nous installant au bar sur le rooftop (et à l'aide d'une bonne paire de jumelles) nous avons profité d'une vue panoramique des défilés. Plus confortable que de s'asseoir en bord de route ! On pouvait rejoindre le centre-ville facilement à pied, ce qui étajt appréciable.

La propreté des chambres, balcons et parties communes laissait vraiment à désirer. Le nettoyage était fait de manière superficielle. Traces grasses, miettes, taches au sol, joints noircis... Nous avons fait 12 hébergements au Sri Lanka (en passant de guesthouses simples à des hôtels de type international). Tous ont été d'une propreté irréprochable - sauf The Trees (qui était aussi le plus cher). Ça nous a fait un choc désagréable.

The hotel was comfortable, great pool area with views across the city. Good location for a short Tuk Tuk to everywhere you would want to visit while in Kandy. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.

Very modern beautifully styled hotel. The location was ideal with a view over the lake at Kandy. The staff were very helpful, the buffet breakfast was very good and the roof top bar/restaurant and pool were lovely.

La struttura gode di una vista magnifica e di una ottima posizione per spostarsi a piedi. Con le camere “vista lago” ti senti in città e ne apprezzi la atmosfera, pur essendo lontano dalla confusione e dal rumore.

Devono essere migliorate manutenzione. e pulizia. Tuttavia, considerando gli standard medi del Paese, credo che siano più che accettabili.

Wat een fantastisch hotel. Niet twijfelen maar gewoon boeken. Het is een centraal gelegen hotel en is de 5 sterren echt waard. Nette moderne ruime kamers en een mooi zwembad met een fantastisch uitzicht over het meer. Zeer luxe ontbijt, met ruime keuze.

L’hôtel est beau, bien situé, avec une vue magnifique et les chambres sont grandes.

Le service n’est pas à la hauteur d’un hôtel de cette catégorie : pas de shampoing dans nos deux chambres, pas assez de gel douche pour se doucher, le frigo ne marchait pas, la douche n’a pas été nettoyée, on a mis de la musique d’ambiance dans le couloir dès 7h du matin… Le personnel est très gentil mais nos chambres ont été mal gérées.

L'hotel est très bien placé, il surplombe le lac de Kandy. Si vous avez la chance d'avoir du beau temps, la piscine au rooftop est magnifique.

les chambres sont mal isolées, et nous n'avons pas eu de chance avec notre placement. Nous pouvions entendre dés 7h du matin les chaises très bruyantes du petit déjeuner, la musique du couloir, et même l'ascenseur. En revanche, la réception a bien réagie en nous surclassant dans une chambre beaucoup plus calme. Par contre, nous avons oublié des affaires dans notre chambre, et nous n'avons jamais réussi à joindre l'hotel afin de les récupérer malgré nos très nombreuses relances.

The hotel is in a perfect location, within walking distance of many attractions. The view across the lake and the city of Kandy is breathtaking. The staff and the welcome were excellent. The room and bathroom were also perfect – absolutely nothing to complain about. And the restaurant is delicious, offering a wide range of dishes at reasonable prices and of excellent quality. Absolutely nothing to complain about – this hotel is perfect.

Die Unterkunft war toll, der Pool ein Traum und das Personal hervorragend. Das absolute Highlight unseres dreiwöchigen Aufenthalts war aber (sehr unerwartet) der von der Unterkunft organisierte Transfer. Fayas, unser Fahrer, hat uns an der Zugstation abgeholt und uns dann eine wundervolle gut zweistündige Fahrt beschwert. Auf ganz liebenswerte Art und Weise hat er uns von seinem Land erzählt und alles gezeigt, wir habe Fotostopps eingelegt, und Obst gegessen und die Zeit einfach nur genossen. Ganz herzlichen Dank für dieses ganz besondere Erlebnis!!! Unbedingt in der Unterkunft nach Fayas für einen Transfer bitten 😄

Amazing views with an amazing infinity pool and rooftop bar. Room was very comfortable with a TV that had YouTube and Netflix. Bed was very comfy and amenities in terms of shampoo, hairdryer etc were exceptional. Free water was provided.

Only negative was the soundproofing of the room. We were next to cleaning closet and stairs, so was quite noisy.

Das Hotel liegt fabelhaft über der Innenstadt von Kandy. Alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich und die Einrichtung sah sehr luxuriös aus. Wir würden auf jedenfall wieder kommen!

Für fast 5.000 rupees pro Person für das Frühstück hätten wir uns mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Im Bad waren die Fugen leider etwas schwarz. Sonst war aber wirklich alles perfekt!

Tolle Lage über dem See, der gut zu Fuß erreichbar ist. Die Aussicht ist phantastisch. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet, die Klimaanlage ist nicht allzu laut.

Das Frühstück, das wir nicht vorab dazu gebucht haben, ist relativ teuer.

The location was really good, very close to attractions.

During the reservation from booking we unconsciously reserve for one person for double room. Then I emailed the property, they said No problem we will figure out when you came. They charged us almost half price of the room. However, they charged the room already, we only needed to pay second person’s breakfast. When we check-in the room, there were hairs in the sink. It looked like someone had shaved and hadn’t cleaned up afterward. The last night, we asked for transfer to rail station, they wanted triple times more than uber or pick me price. When I told them it was really expensive, they came up with excuses. It feels like they’re trying to overcharge tourists.

The food was absolutely delicious😋 The place is very clean and five stars for the scenary.

The hotel has a beautiful and impressive entrance area, and our room was lovely and very clean. The breakfast buffet was okay overall, but unfortunately, many dishes were often empty and not replenished properly, so the selection was quite limited at times.

Unfortunately, our stay was not as relaxing as we had hoped. There is currently a construction site directly next to the hotel, which was not mentioned anywhere before our arrival. The construction work starts early in the morning and usually continues until around 9:30–10:00 pm. In addition, the music around the pool area is noticeably too loud. With the construction noise, loud pool music, and many conversations happening at the same time, there was often a constant level of noise that made it difficult to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The Trees, Kandy is a very good city hotel and an ideal base for exploring the city. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. What really stood out was the professional organization of our transfer to the next destination. Everything was arranged smoothly and efficiently, making our onward journey completely stress-free. We were so pleased with this service that we booked all our remaining transfers in Sri Lanka through the hotel.

Nothing significant. As a city hotel, the atmosphere is naturally a little less personal than in some of the smaller boutique hotels we stayed at during our trip.

We found it strange that we were asked if we wanted the room to be cleaned at a 5 star hotel. When we came back from a visit to Kandy, our room with all our belongings stood wide open with no cleaning staff to be seen anywhere.

Key card was not working, had to call receptionist every time we wanted to enter our room. There were no towels, had to request for them.

A fantastic stay right in the heart of Kandy. The hotel's location is unbeatable — set just next to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, giving you exceptional views of one of Sri Lanka's most sacred sites. Waking up each morning to that view was easily one of the highlights of the trip. The infinity pool is a real standout, with stunning views over the surrounding hills and lake — a perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hotel itself is spotless, and the staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Kandy who wants a comfortable base with an incredible outlook on the city and its temple

Price of drinks are a little expensive, but having them whilst taking in the exceptional views makes up for it

Fantastisch mooi uitzicht vanaf de bovenste verdieping en heerlijke cocktails. Onze kamer was erg mooi, netjes schoon en het personeel super vriendelijk. Ze hebben ons zelfs geholpen met het redden van een baby vogeltje die de weg kwijt was. Eten is ook heel erg lekker, zeker een aanrader! Bedankt voor de goede service!!

Generelt dårlig service - I særdeleshed i restauranten Man er som gruppe var henvist til borde bagerst i restauranten, da man ikke ville sætte to to-personers borde sammen på trods af en halvtom restaurant. Morgenmaden var nogenlunde, men man skulle betale ekstra, hvis man ville have vand eller en god kaffe

Das Hotel liegt an einer sehr guten Lage. Nachcwenigen Gehminuten ist man im Stadtzentrum. Vom Zimmer sowie der Dachterasse mit Pool hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick zum See sowie dem Zahntempel. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und Sauber.

Das Essen und die Getränke sind im Verhältnis sehr teuer. Das Personal möchte zuvorkommend sein. Dies war für unsere Verhältnisse z.T. zu aufdringlich.

Service could have been better, our neighbours half eaten food tray was left outside their room and not collected for 24 hrs. Food was dreadful.

Flott opphold på the trees. Vi bodde der kun 1 natt, men hotellet ser fantastisk og ganske nytt ut. Veldig hyggelig personal.
