Ligging, het uitzicht, de riante kamer met ruim terras. In verhouding tot de kamer was de badkamer eerder klein.

De sfeer, enige plek in Sri Lanka waar het personeel niet echt vriendelijk was.

The view was amazing as was the size of the rooms. It was a great location.

It needed a bit of TLC but nothing drastic.

Amazing place. The room was huge and the facilities (restaurant and pool) are really pleasant and nice.

They were really slow making breakfast even though we were the only people in the restaurant

Das Personal an der Rezeption hat uns leider komplett falsch beraten bezüglich des Festivals. Hätten wir auf diesen Rat gehört hätten wir das Festival verpasst.

Le bruit des chaises qui grincent du restaurant au 4eme étage. Notre chambre était au 3ème étage, partir de 6h30 ce n'était plus possible de dormir.

We've stayed for a night at Oak Ray Heritage Hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The room view is breath taking. We could see the lake from the room. A special shoutout to the staff for preparing "Kiri Ahara" on request. It was made with special care, we could notice that. They didn't even charge for it. The pool amenities and restaurant service was spot on. We had one of our best stays here at Oak Ray Heritage.

- with more than 1 month in advance I asked to reduce the stay from 5 to 4 nights (no change of dates), I could not do this change myself and neither the hotel nor booking.com could assist with this request (or did not want to): I had to pay for 1 night (2 rooms) in excess (I got compensated with one buffet dinner for 4 pax) - avoid the fourth floor if you want to sleep beyond 7am. the restaurant is on the fifth floor and at that time you can expect a jarring symphony of moving chairs and tables

Het hotel is netjes en schoon.

Kleine dingen vielen tegen. Kamers afrekenen bij binnenkomst ben ik niet gewend. Vervolgens vragen om het diner te betalen terwijl we halfpension geboekt hadden. Heel gedoe over gehad met de beste meneer. De menu kaart is overigens ook niet erg uitgebreid. Om 8 uur sochtends aanbellen terwijl we nog sliepen met de vraag of de kamer schoon gemaakt moest worden beviel ons ook niet echt.

Mooie kamer met groot balkon met zicht op het meer en ook zicht op temple of the tooth en ook zicht op de Perahera stoet. Zeer aangename badkamer. Goeie airco

Ontbijt ziet er mooi uit maar toch wel wat gebreken als je rond 8u a 8u30 aankomt (ontbijt tot 9u30) zoals lauw water om koffie te maken, wafeltjes hard, stokbrood hard, nog items die te droog waren. Yogurt was dan nog de beste optie en de omelet. Espressomachine zou toch mogen voor dit soort hotelklasse.

Sehr modernes und stilvolles Hotel mit wunderschönem Ausblick auf den Kandy-See. Absolutes Highlight ist der großartige Rooftop-Pool – perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Zimmer sind extrem geräumig, modern eingerichtet und sehr komfortabel. Auch das Frühstück auf der tollen Terrasse lässt keine Wünsche offen. Unbedingt zu empfehlen!

Durch die Lage an der Straße ist es leider stellenweise etwas laut.

Uitzicht over het meer vanaf de kamer en bij het ontbijt is prachtig. Ligging tov meer en tempel van de tand is gunstig.

Wij hadden een kamer vlak bij de lift aan de open gang tegenover het restaurant. Hierdoor hadden we tot laat in de avond last van de zeer luide live muziek van het restaurant tegenover het hotel en van de lift. De bedden waren niet heel comfortabel.

La chambre pour trois est vraiment très spacieuse avec un grand balcon et une vue vraiment splendide sur le lac. La literie est très confortable. La salle de bain est très bien avec une douche indépendante. À souligner également beaucoup de rangement dans la chambre. Enfin le petit déjeuner est servi sous forme de buffet. C’est à la fois varié et très bon. L’hôtel se trouve à 10 minutes à pied du centre.

Éventuellement, les peintures de la chambre pourraient être rafraîchies.

Views from room, pool and restaurant were amazing. We could see day 1 of Esala Perahera (distant view). Staff were friendly. They actually gave us twin beds as requested in booking!

The room was tatty in parts and safe didn’t work (but we didn’t report it). Not enough hot water when showering.

Created a negative impact when cultural show dancers started collecting money from the audience after the show.That was a really an unpleasant experience for all the guests paying a premium price for the ticket and dancers desperately expecting the audience to offer them a tip.That killed the whole effort.Please make sure to avoid such negative practices at your hotel.

Une belle vue sur le lac depuis la chambre et le restaurant. Parfait pour passer une nuit à Kandy. Shaliq a l’accueil était très disponible et à l’écoute. Merci ☺️

La salle de bains, la douche présentaient des traces de moisissures. Cependant la chambre et l’hôtel sont bien entretenus, c’est propre.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kandy, Sri Lanka on my holiday to back home. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was convenient for exploring Kandy and visiting the main attractions. The hotel also offered a peaceful atmosphere after a busy day of sightseeing. Breakfast was delicious,much love with authentic sri lankan flavoured food to get home made feeling and with a good selection of both local and international dishes. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and were impressed by the hospitality and service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kandy and would be happy to stay here again on my next trip to Sri Lanka.

Las habitaciones dan a unos pasillos que quedan abiertos al exterior y hay mucho ruido dr coches. Ademas tiene al lado una perrera y se oye ladrar x la noche. El hotel esta bastante desactualizado y le falta mas limpieza.

Great views of Kandy lake. Large spacious rooms.

There was a big party lasting all afternoon one of our days with very loud music. We were not pre-warned or advised when booking. It made it impossible to rest after an early morning start to the botanical gardens. The breakfast was lacklustre, instant coffee from a packet, and quite basic.

Er was geen hotelbar, je kon geen cocktail ofzo bestellen. Minibar alleen bier en red bull. Avond eten was niet echt sfeervol er zat niemand en de ruimte is kill ondanks mooie uitzicht. Daarvoor moet je bij het restaurant aan de overkant van de weg zijn

De ligging is mooi, kamers ruim en schoon. Wij kwamen laat aan dus geen gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad. Ontbijt meer dan prima.

The location is great

Our room was dirty, the bedding was stained , the room smelt musty. I booked another hotel and left. Our experience did not match the reviews. The staff offered to change our room and were very nice but I didn’t trust that another room, the kitchen or pool would be clean given the poor condition of the room. This was much more than wear and tear, it’s not caring about the guest experience, not having have standards of cleanliness and in my opinion trading on the fact they have a good view and know that they will get guests. For £5 more we had a much better stay in a lovely hotel. I did not request a refund as it was my choice to leave.

Nous sommes arrivés avant l'heure que nous devions arriver et nous avons pu laisser nos sacs dans l'entrée. Chambre et salle de bain propre. Vue sur le lac de notre chambre et de la piscine. Lit confortable. Il y a beaucoup de place dans la chambre. Très bon petit déjeuner, avec de la diversité pour tout les goûts. Services agréable. 5min a pied du centre ville. Au calme. Pensez a aller voir un match de cricket.

Les serviettes ne sèchent pas. Odeur de nourriture venant des retaurant adjacent. A noter: odeur d'humidité dans la chambre.

Excellent good value hotel on a hill south of the lake with terrific views of Kandy. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and most have lake views. The view is even better from the lovely rooftop pool and breakfast area looking over the lake to the Temple of the Tooth complex and the rest of the town. It's a 10 minute downhill walk (take the path beside the shabby Royal Palace Gardens) to the lakeside and then to the temple precincts, the busy market, and the town's restaurants.  We enjoyed a morning with excellent guide Buddhima arranged through WithLocals - recommended.

The electronic safe had no power source, so did not work.

Fantastic view from our room and from dining area. Staff were very helpful and breakfast had good mix of local and western food. Close proximity to Main Street, we even saw a staff member in Main Street at shops and he helped us negotiate with shop owner

Just make sure if you organise a driver that you give full name of hotel because there are 3 hotels owned by Oak ray group in Kandy.

Good walking dinstance location from the lake and nice view overlooking the lake. Rooms are clean but the walls are pretty thin, could hear outside traffic and the neighbours. We only had 2 breakfast at the hotel. Even though there is plenty to choose from, most of it was not as fresh as we’ve seen in other hotels in Sri Lanka. The fruit juice looked old and had floating flies in it so we did not take that. The first day we got tap water when we asked for some water which probably caused some stomach aches for all of us. When we asked for bottled water next day we were charged for it. All in all a fine pace to stay but not to eat.

Location is great and so is the staff. Breakfast offers a variety of things to try and the view from the restaurant and the pool is simply amazing. 10 min from the city centre.

Can get loud at night, also there is a college right next door and they practice their orchestra early in the morning sometimes 😂

We staled here for 2 nights, the room was large and very comfortable the views amazing bathroom good with plenty of hot water, hotel located on a hill away from the noise of the town, it is an easy walk into the town. The breakfast were good with lots if variety.

Location is perfect. Restaurant at the roof has a great view over lake and city. Spacious rooms and great wifi.

Near the hotel traditional dance shows are organized at around 5-6pm, which can be quite noisy. Hotel is hosting various celebrations at the restaurant till after 10pm. Rooms are nor soundproof, so having a good rest can be a challenge. Stuff was doing their best, still management should define - is it s hotel or celebration hall..

Delightful comfortable hotel in prime location overlooking the central lake in Kandy, with magnificent views of the surrounding hills. We had the added pleasure of a spectacular sunset. Staff friendly and helpful.

The pool deck was too open no shade.

Property was located very close to town centre - we did walk up the hill however and this was quite steep. I would recommend a tuktuk. The views over Kandy were wonderful and the staff were very attentive. The rooms were very large and comfortable with private balcony.

We arrived just outside season so very quiet. We used the rooftop pool however the toilet facilities were locked - I believe at the time it might have been because this was not being used.

We stayed only for one night while travelling through, but this is a beautiful hotel, in a good location. Overlooks Kandy centre, clean, comfortable and a very good breakfast. Staff are helpful and attentive.

We were given a very warm welcome by the hotel staff. The hotel is superbly equipped and features a rooftop swimming pool. From there, you have a lovely view of the city of Kandy and its famous Temple of the Tooth. The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast buffet is plentiful.

There is nothing to complain about. We were completely satisfied with the accommodation, the food and the atmosphere. We will have fond memories of our stay at the hotel, as well as our city tour with the Botanic Garden and the Temple of the Tooth.

The hotel was pleasant but when we arrived we popped to the restaurant for a quick bite, the manager was busy trying to sort a wedding that was happening & had no time for us, which left us feeling a little disappointed. We went elsewhere for food. Room was lovely but for the wedding no other guests around.

This is a beautiful hotel with well trained and friendly staff. Our entire stay was coordinated by Mahesh, and his expertise made everything smooth and stress free. He was always helpful, attentive, and ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. The view from the hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Highly recommended for a pleasant and memorable stay.

Poor communication from staff. We checked in and I’d already requested a late check out and was responded to with “subject to availability “ despite it being check in day. On arrival the man at the desk was more interested in telling me I have to pay for a late check out abruptly when all others in our two week trip gave 2hrs free. He also failed to advise a wedding was there the next morning and told us breakfast was until 9:30am. At 8am we got woken up by a call from the lady at the desk telling us to hurry we have 15mins before breakfast ends. What?! So we dressed and hurried upstairs. Food was off a menu only, my brother ordered the local option which all curries came STONE COLD. He asked 3x for milk for the coffee. I specifically booked the hotel for the view and restaurant area to be able to sit and enjoy it. Extremely disappointing. The sheets and pillows are also marked and need bleaching or replacing.

Sehr nettes Personal. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und komfortabel, es hatte alles was man benötigt. Sauber und das beste zum Schluss eine wunderschöne Aussicht über Kandy.

Had a wonderful stay at Oak Ray Heritage Hotel in Kandy. The room was huge, spotless, and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a good variety of options, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Great service and excellent value — would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kandy!

Bathroom has transparent glass windows which doesn’t have an option to be completely opaque, would’ve appreciated good blinds to block the glass window.

Location of hotel was good and convenient to the city since it’s few kilometers away and easily access by vehicle or Tuk Tuk View is nice and rooms are really spacious and the amenities are up to standers Regarding the foods we have taken set menu for dinner and that was really good and tasty. Breakfast was a buffet on that day and had fewer option for mains which can be bit improved. Appreciate the service and the atmosphere

Location, staff and room was okay, its pretty much what you pay for. The staff let us check in early which was very kind of them.

The pillows smelled like sweat and didn't look like they were cleaned or washed, I had to put them outside because the stench was bad. WiFi was also pretty bad.

The hotel has an amazing view overlooking Kandy city, and the rooms are spacious and very suitable for families. The dinner was enjoyable with good food, and the staff were very kind, polite, and professional. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

The breakfast was average, especially the bread selection and variety of food, which could be improved. There were not enough staff members available to attend to guests quickly. In addition, the swimming pool and lobby cleanliness need better maintenance.

Honestly nothing bad to say, we’ve stayed multiple places on our trip, and this was by far the best place.

Good hotel, great sized rooms with epic lakeviews, quick tuk tuk down into town or 5 min walk via shortcut , decent breakfast .Pool area also has amazing views ,overall good value for money, maybe a bit tlc/paint needed soon to freshen up the hotel

The linens with stains and/or wholes should be replaced and never used again. It gives a bad impression of the hotel

L'accueil a été très gentil et professionnel. L'hôtel est idéalement situé très près du centre ville. Les chambres donnent sur le lac, la vue est splendide. Le restaurant est bon pour un prix très raisonnable, le buffet du petit déjeuner vaut vraiment le détour! La piscine sur le toit est très agréable. Un hôtel porche des standards européens.
