Private Country Cottage

Loved the breakfast! The bed was so comfortable and linens were clean and fresh. Having the granola, grainy bread, choice of spreads, eggs, milk, coffee and tea selections was perfect for us. Shona the host was very accommodating and personable 💐

Only small things…The tea towels were so new they didn’t dry the dishes properly. Parts of the fridge needed wiping out. There was no power point in the bathroom for my hair drier or hook to hang my bath towel.

It was ideal for the purpose of my stay.

Such a peaceful location away from everything while still being close to a town centre. A modern, cosy cottage with excellent amenities including high-quality cookware, appliances, and linen. The bed was so comfy. The breakfast items were delicious. The view of green hills and passing birds was exactly what I needed. The sheltered spa was sublime. Shona couldn’t have been a better host, especially considering the torrential rain she had to wade through to meet me. It was a perfect mindful retreat. I’ll definitely be back.

All I’ll add is it’s worth bringing slippers in winter, as the floor can get a bit cold.

The cottage, beddings and kitchen wares were very clean. The hosts provided more than enough food for breakfast and some condiments for cooking. Cutleries and cook wares are very good quality. So good to hear different birds at night and early morning. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Maybe a bit of lighting so it's easier to see the address when driving in from the main road at night.

Lovely setting in the countryside, very calm and green. Nicely furnished, and breakfast was plentiful.

The plumbing was a bit startling, although I suppose it goes with the countryside factor. (Very loud kerplumps everytime one turned on the faucet or flushed the toilet.)

The garden scenery was really peaceful, especially enjoyed listening to the frogs in the pond while sitting in the sun. Beautiful spot for a wedding. Breakfast provisions were really great too. Attention to detail was on point 👌

Nothing that we didn't like but if you are wanting something within walking distance to town, then this probably isn't for you.

The property is new, clean and the hosts thought about everything. It was an amazing getaway and we will definitely be back.

Comfy and private, beautiful gardens

This was the perfect spot for us after travelling from the Christchurch and coming off the ferry as it was only an hours drive and we were very tired. It was quiet and peaceful, had everything we needed including breakfast, outlook was beautiful and most of all the bed was super comfortable and the shower had an amazing head.

The eggs provided were lovely and fresh and they poached so well. I arrived in the dark so it wasn't until the morning I saw the lovely rural setting the cabin was in. I sat outside with a cuppa and watched the tuis chasing each other and bathing as a group in one of the bird baths. Get your cameras ready BEFORE you go outside so you're ready to catch the action. Shona was lovely, she came to say hi in the morning (as I'd arrived so late - and again, thanks so much for accommodating my very late booking Shona). Through-out our chat I could tell we had things in common and I would have loved to be staying another night so I could force her to sit with me for a wine and a decent natter in that glorious setting.

The privacy and the outlook were wonderful. The bed was comfy.

The weather was terrible so we couldn't enjoy the lovely deck (not their fault). The bathroom was a bit cramped and we probably needed more instructions for the tv. Otherwise lovely

Great place hidden away yet close to Paraparaumu and the expressway, great outlook over looking a pond and trees within the walkable garden area. Electric blanket was a bonus on winters night. Ample breakfast options, warm with great WiFi

The property was fantastic, we stayed in the honeymoon sweet and loved the view from the front porch. Bed was comfy, shower was great! The couch was comfy, everything worked as it should and we felt really at home in the space. Especially great for the bird nerd!

Warm, welcoming and well appointed. Shona came over to meet us such a lovely person. We arrived after dark and left before light so didn’t get to appreciate the surroundings. But quiet and tucked away. Everything we needed. Thank you Shona for a great stay.

It’s really cute and cosy. The owner was lovely and friendly and promptly responded to our messages. The cottage was clean and tidy. The bed was comfy and shower had good water pressure. Breakfast was included which we had outside on the nice balcony.

At first we wondered how breakfast worked but we eventually found everything we needed was already provided in the kitchen of the cottage. So my husband whipped up beaky for us :)

It is quiet and just a great space to be in. Our cottage was away from the main vuikding and the deck was great to just sit and relax

Bathroom abit small but that's just being picky.

It was my second time at this beautiful place. It was a Mothers Day treat for Mum and I. It's a must you stay. The hosts are accommodating and make you feel welcome. The place is peaceful, tranquil and breathtaking. The bed is comfortable and cozy with winter sheet to curl up in.. It has everything you need in the well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Only a short drive to the Town Center. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for your hospitality!
