Reviewed Jun 23, 2026Central location in Christchurch. Riverside Market, shops, bars, restaurants were all within walking distance. Rooms were nice and big with all the amenities that are needed.
Bigger towels would be good, also the bed was a little hard for my liking. I didn't much sleep as it was uncomfortable for me. But other than that I would recommend.

The building is covered in a decorative pattern which let light into the room but it was not easy to look out of. Given the location it was a shame to not have the views.

No windows to open for natural air and no aircon in bathroom. Makes room smell musty. Didn’t accommodate request for a quiet room… in fact seemed to have given the most noisey side of building and closed to lifts and didn’t respond to why.

The bed was terrible. I had my worst night sleep in a hotel for a long time. I was really disappointed as the rest of the room/hotel was perfect and was planning to use this place frequently until I tried to sleep!

Customer service was poor, she was in rush as reception close's at 7pm, took my card then charged me a fee for visa without asking. no car drop off area outside was a hassle and parking was very limit inhouse and had to find carpark outside.

Reviewed May 19, 2026Rooms were fantastic, great size and everything you needed and more. The bed was large and super comfy. The hotel was in a perfect location to the city. Couldnt ask for anything better. There was no real view - just the carpark but I didnt book for that, we booked for the location and it delivered well on that. Checking in at reception was easy, lifts that took you up to the floors. Very quiet and very clean, equipment and utensils in the kitchen almost looked brand new. A great little cafe at the end of the road - Westend Stories - which did a fab breakfast. Couldnt fault.

Bed was very firm & upon arrival the person at front desk said my room number out loud putting my safety as risk. The windows are covered in perforated sticker so obstructs views to city.

The reception girl has a very poor understanding of English. Which begs the question, if there was an emergency her communication to the guests would be non existent and her communication to the emergency services would not happen. Test her out before it really does happen.
