Centrally located but in a side alley so it's slightly bit quieter. The young woman at the front desk was efficient and friendly (I am LGBT). Sometimes the windowless lobby has male guests (from the shared bedrooms) chilling, I didn't notice anyone smoking - as per previous reviews here - so they must have corrected that. The room next to me was a women-only shared hostel/dormitory room but I had my own room so I can't speak to their experience. My bathroom was super clean (it looked newly renovated?) and the shower temperature and pressure were excellent. There is a small rooftop with potted plants so it was nice as a quiet break from all the crazy & unnecessary car/motorcycle honking by the local cockroaches. 😄

Even though they supposedly accept credit cards, I had to pay in cash (and was prepared for it). Just a friendly warning to future guests.

ドミに宿泊しましたが、ゴキブリがいました。エアコンがないので窓が開けっぱなしで、湿っぽかったです。他の方の荷物もかなりざっくばらんにおいてあるので、快適とは言えませんでした。安いですが、連泊はきついです。。シングルルームもあるのでそちらがいいとおもいました。

One of my favourite places to stay in Thamel. I have stayed here many times now. Rooms are very nice and comfortable and all the staff are very helpful an nice:)

타멜 중심부랑 굉장히 가까이 있어요. 그래서 쇼핑하기 너무 편했어요. 따뜻한 샤워도 좋았고 침대도 큰 불편없었어요.

저희는 두 번을 숙박을 했는데, 두 번 다 7층까지 걸어서 올라가야만 했어요. 엘리베이터가 없으니까. 두번째 숙박할땐, 옆 방에서 tv 소리가 너무커서 소리를 줄이라고 직접 말을해야했어요. 그 방은 직원숙소였나봐요.

安宿だから仕方ないけど、トイレとシャワーが近いからシャワーを浴びるとビショビショになる。 でも乾燥してるせいかすぐに乾いた。

Very nice hostel in the centre of Thamel. The room was very quite, no outside noises disturbing the sleep:) Everything was very clean and staff were all very friendly!

omijajcie ten hostel szerokim łukiem dla wlasnego dobra Zdecydowajie najgorszy hotel w jakim miałam okazje spać podczas mojej miesięcznej podrózy po Indiach i Nepalu. Na "balkonie"niedopałki papierosów Wracając z gór zmokłam i potrzebowałam się ogrzać, przy rezerwacji celowo wybralam pokój z klimatyzacja. Niestety funkcja grzania nie działa. Bardzo brudne ściany. Smród z kanalizacji. Śmierdzi w łazience i w pokoju, ciężko to wytrzymać, jedynym ratunkiem jest otwarcie okna i zamkniecie drzwi do lazienki. Szyba nad drzwiami do pokoju, ze schodów widać wnętrze pokoju. WTF? Ekshibicjonista byłby zachwycony, ja czułam ogromny dyskomfort. W oknie lazienki nie ma zaslonki. WTF? Bardzo brudna klimatyzacja. Jeśli jest tanio to licze się z tym ze bedzie skromnie ale nie brudno. Mało światła dziennego. Zimno. Spędzilam tu 4 dni w oczekiwaniu na samlot, całe dni padał deszcz dlatego wszystkie wymienione niedogodnosci stały się bardzo ważne, ponieważ uczyniły mój pobyt w tym hotelu bardzo niekomfortowym. Smród papierosów na schodach ktory przedostaje się do pokoju. Bardzo głośno w nocy!! Panie Kierowniku, jedna rolka (kiepskiego)papieru toaletowego na 5dni dla kobiety to za mało!! Kobieta uzywa papier toaletowy do każdej czynnosci w tolaecie!

The hostel is in a great position, the room was clean and decent size, and the staff is super kind.

It was noisy, with someone talking very loudly on the phone for 3 nights in the lobby. It would be nice if the staff could ask these people to be quiet at night.

Very small ( tiny ) fan on dorm itself. No ceiling fan. Felt quite hot and humid. Also ,only one table fan in the common sitting area.

The staff is simply amazing. They were perfect giving us all information needed before our arrival and organising our pick up. They helped us in everything.

The staff were extremely helpful when I arrived from the airport I didn’t have any Nepali currency and I had to pay my taxi driver at the reception there was this wonderful sweet girl called Asha she just gave me the Nepali currency and said I can later change and give it back. The guy at the reception was also nice because after changing the money when I got back to the hotel Asha already let and it was Shankar he was very helpful too because my room was up on 6th floor and he helped me to carry my heavy luggage all the way up. The location is excellent as you are close to everything

Good location right in the middle of Thamel. Helpful staff. Cleanliness was decent.

Lots of stairs - they did help carry my luggage up them but it is a bit tiring to have to climb them to get to your room. Poor sound and other insulation - my room was next to a patio where people would talk loudly or smoke and the sounds and smells would get into my room.

Great accomodation in the heart of Thamel

First night was not the room I booked but they changed.

In my opinion Nepalaya Home Hostel is one of the best budget accommodations in Kathmandu. it's clean, pleasant, and offers excellent value for money What genuinely distinguishes it is the amazing hospitality, particularly of Amrit the hard work guy always smiling and always provide problem solving ideas for guests.  His warm welcome, friendly demeanor, and genuine concern for guests make you feel right at home. He never fails to be willing to help, whether you need travel advice or simply want to talk everyone becomes friends so fast with him . This hostel is an excellent alternative for budget tourists due to its pleasant environment, friendly environment and convenient location. Highly recommended!

Really nice room for the price! Everything was clean and well-maintained, even got a little balcony.

WiFi was a bit spotty and didn't work for a couple of hours sometimes, plus would have loved a kettle in the room (but there was hot water downstairs, so it was okay).

Well located hostel and super clean. Bed sheets were new and clean. Comfortable bedroom with big bathrooms.

The cleaning ladies got into the room speaking and laughing loudly while some guests were sleeping. Ok, they can clean the bedroom but they should try not to talk so loudly as people are resting.

You can’t beat the value for the price. Location is close to everything you could need.

Bathrooms could be cleaner but it’s to be expected in a shared hostel dorm room.

They really care about offering a good service. Here you find confortable beds, spacious rooms and lockers, cleanness and nice staff. There's a good structure in a good location.

Excellent value. The hotel is well placed in Thamel, slightly off the road so it's a bit quieter. The room is good, large and comfy bed, and the shower very hot, which is great in winter! The staff is nice and helpful.

Many stairs if your room is up (I didn't mind but some with heavy backpacks might). Internet is not great and pretty unstable. Noisy people in the dorm when we were here (but that's just unfortunate)

I stayed in a bunch of hotels and airbnb in Nepal before (mostly Kathmandu) and Napalaya beats all of them head down. The room was squeaky clean and fresh, furniture looked new, functional set up, bathroom absolutely lovely( trust me on that on the strength of my Nepalese experience). Staff friendly, and professional. Had my own balcony on to of that! View wasn’t exactly Pokhara lake but it was quiet as not facing the street— massive bonus!

Could do with a cup or two for water.

For the price, I just can't complain! The basics were just alright...and the location is awesome.....If you care for more, be willing to pay more ! 😁

Great value for the money you pay

Located in Thamel close to many tourist shops, restaurants etc. Booked a private room which was spacious with en suite bathroom and balcony which had afternoon sun. Some noise from the dorm room next door to be expected. Friendly staff.

All perfect! Very central thamel position, at the same time very quiet. Amazing view from the roof top. The staff is super kind and nice, they help you with everything you need (info, trips, treks, airport transfer… or simply a nice chat!). Thank you very much. We will come back! Namaste

Basic and friendly place. Perfect for the price.

Beds are very comfortable with nice warm blankets and a personal power outlet at each bed in the dormitory. Bathroom with a hot shower is very nice. No ac in the room but it doesn't need it. Location is fantastic. It's right on the edge of touristy Thamel and authentic Nepalese cultural Thamel so super convenient for buy trekking stuff you still need, which I needed a bunch, and authentic Nepalese culture to experience the real way of living in Kathmandu. Obviously more expensive in the tourity part and of course much nicer but I like the authentic Nepalese cultural area where you get to experience real life in Kathmandu and at a much cheaper cost. I love the Samosas at rs30 each and Momo for rs100, vegetarian, rs120 for meat, buf. Easy to find with a sign visible from the street. The you have to walk through a little alley to get to the hostel. Free drinking water. Free storage of your stuff while you're on your Trek. Great price and value for your money.

You could be on a high floor. I was on the 5th floor but good training for trekking.

I went to the location to see the room and then made the booking. I sent a message to the staff to confirm my quiet room. They sent a reply to confirm. When I arrived, they did not give me the agreed room. Very un professional. There was no curtain on the bathroom window. There was lots of noise from the lobby.
