Jazepuri - Jaze 1

I stayed for three weeks in total. Quiet environment far from the crowd and traffic noise. The kind host lives in the same place, there won't be any problems. A supermarket is about 1km, the city center of Kuching is a few minutes away by ferry.

Nothing. Just one thing to be aware of ; there must be scorpions around here, be careful when walking in the grass.

Eine sehr nette Unterkunft in einer hübschen, grünen und ruhigen Wohngegend von Kuching. Morgens hört man höchstens etwas Hahnenkrähen statt Autoverkehr, und trotzdem ist man nur 5 Min zu Fuß vom Wassertaxi zur Waterfront auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite entfernt - eine Minute Flussfahrt später ist man dort. Jazepuri umfasst 3 Gästezimmer, die separat ans Zuhause von Zek und Jamila angeschlossen sind. Mein Zimmer war groß, hell und gemütlich und hatte alles, was man braucht, inklusive Fernseher, AC, Schreibtisch, Regale. Es gibt eine gutausgestattete Gästeküche, die man sich mit anderen Gästen teilt, falls welche da sind (Wasser, Tee und Kaffee werden gestellt), auch eine Waschmaschine, die man nutzen darf. Auf dem Dach kann man Wäsche aufhängen, Sport machen oder den Himmel und die Umgebung betrachten. Gut zu wissen ist vielleicht auch, dass das Internet extrem schnell ist: Offenbar gibt es immer wieder Digital Nomads, die hier einen längeren Zeitraum verbringen. Ca. 12-15 Min. zu Fuß entfernt gibt es auch Supermärkte, in denen man sich zur Selbstversorgung eindecken kann, oder man geht auf der anderen Flussseite in der Stadt einkaufen, wenn man nicht ständig essengehen möchte. Zek und Jamila sind warmherzige Menschen, denen viel daran gelegen ist, dass ihre Gäste sich wohlfühlen. Zek bietet außerdem auch eigene Touren an, und hat auch Informationen für Spaziergänge durch die Stadt, die man alleine machen kann. Ich bin hier sehr zur Ruhe gekommen, komme auf jeden Fall wieder, und möchte die Jazepuri-Gästezimmer wirklich wärmstens empfehlen - insbesondere allen, die zwar Besichtigungen in Kuching machen wollen, sich aber auch über Ruhe und eine entspannte Umgebung freuen.

Ми були тиждень в цьому чудовому будинку. Ми були неймовірно раді, що ми зупинилися тут а не в місті. Бо до центру і всього самого цікавого дійсно дуже близько, треба просто переплисти на іншу сторону річки, що коштує лише 2 рінгіта і це також неймовірно цікаво і колоритно. Але головне це будинок. Чарівний великий будинок розділений на дві частини, в одній живуть гості, в іншій сім'я. Для туристів є 3 кімнати, загальна кухня і чудовий великий зал . Є абсолютно все, як в квартирі. Саме головне - дуже тихо вночі. Всі 3 кімнати мають вікна на тиху сторону, протилежну від дороги, тому всі варіанти тихі. Так, зранку співає мечеть , але якщо включити вентилятор, то практично не чути, нас це не турбувало. Доречі, вентилятор був абсолютно топ. Великий, на стелі, ефективний і тихий. Кондиціонер також є, але ми його не включали, бо не любимо. Гостинність хазяїна також 10 з 10ти. Трохи шкодумо, що жодного разу не замовили в нього цікавий тур, які він пропонує в асортименті. (Але не нав'язує). Але нам подобалося просто гуляти по місту і повертатися додому не дуже пізно, бо туди хочеться повертатися. Кожного дня ввечері ми ходили пішки чи брали безкоштовно велосипеди до фудкорту, де було багато чудової їжі, і дружня атмосфера.. Котики також чудові, дуже ручні і ласкаві. Ліжко було фантастичне, супер зручне і велике.

Very clean, well equipped accommodation and the host Zek is a really nice guy....thank you for the lovely fresh fruit!

Dichtbij het centrum. Ruime kamer, prima douche met fijn regelbaar warm water. Prima bed, airco, plafondwaaier. Gastheer die je veel informatie geeft waar je kunt eten en voor uitstapjes, die hij ook voor je regelt als je wilt.

Eigenlijk niets. Wil je naar het centrum dan kun je de ferry nemen, is 300 meter lopen. Grabs in overvloed brengen je in no time overal naar toe voor luttele bedragen.

Very cozy and homely stay. I would especially recommend it to digital nomads and people who are planning to stay a longer time. Zack, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, shared interesting stories and also helped out practically by giving a lot of valuable advice and even lended some equipment. Kitchen was basic but had everything needed. WiFi was fast and rarely had problems. There were other travelers staying over, so it also had a nice social vibe. Overall it felt more like staying over with a friend than a hotel.

Everything was great for me. If you're not used to night prayers from mosques, I would suggest to get good earplugs. Also consider the distance from center, as you're mostly go there by taxi (it's cheap in Kuching).

Zack is so kind and helpfull with everything. His place is amazing and it is in the quieter part of the city. He has some cute cats and a beautiful garden. The citycenter is also easily accessable and here you can experience some real local life with kind foodstands and people. The room and the bathroom is big, and looked like freshly renovated, I liked the designe.

Casa immersa nel verde con proprietario gentile e disponibile. Camera ampia, bagno altrettanto. A disposizione degli ospiti distributore acqua calda/fredda, the/caffè e qualche dolcetto

Sarebbe utile qualche gruccia in più in stanza. La posizione obbliga all’utilizzo di grab o barche. Tuttavia le barche non sono così affidabili: dovevano iniziare il servizio alle 6.30 e invece fino alle 7 non sono partite per cui abbiamo dovuto prendere un grab rischiando di arrivare tardi al nostro appuntamento a causa del traffico.

L'host è stato sempre molto gentile con noi, e non ci ha fatto problemi quando abbiamo avuto un ritardo di alcune ore per il check in. La casa è accogliente e in una zona residenziale. .

La casa non risulta comodissima per arrivare in centro città a meno di trovare una barca che attraversi il fiume.

Very clean and place feels like home

The owner Zack is such a nice and kind person, we felt at home. Highly recommended!

- Location: The area is quiet, the house and the garden are very nice. There are a few local places to eat around. Easy access to town by taxi or boat (during day time). - The host is very kind and helpful. We felt very welcome and he gave us many useful tips and recommendations. Good and easy communication. - The room and bathroom has all the necessities. The AC worked perfectly. - Possibility to wash clothes for a small additional fee.

This is nothing to do about the place itself, and we were aware of it before booking, but be aware that the city center is reachable by boat only from 6am to 6pm. Otherwise, you can use taxi for a very decent fee, so it wasn't a big issue to for us, but it's good to keep that in mind

Only staying one night we realised we'd missed out everywhere else on having access to a fully equipped kitchen and dining table, and how "homey" that can be. Owner Zek was also very accommodating in letting us drop off our luggage early before check-in time, and come back to pick it up after check-out time the next day. The suburban neighbourhood is very quiet.

The aesthetics of the bedroom are not a strong point but this should not detract from choosing to stay here, and the room is large.

Very helpful host. Provides tea and coffee, good hot water supply, comfortable bed, mozzie spray, free bikes to use and ideas of where to go and what to do.

The location is pretty far from town due to there only being one footbridge over, so it looks very close in but is actually a 45 minute walk away, or grab ride everywhere. Bathroom smelled pretty bad - this seems to be a universal problem in Borneo.

Zack is a great host. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent communication, suggestions and guidance. We had a great time and really enjoyed 2 of his tours where he looked after us very well. Room large and clean, good bathroom and excellent communal facilities. I would highly recommend Zacks place and hope to return. Good local food nearby too.

This is a beauyiful and clean homestay by Zack's family, I got a nice and big room, have a pleasent time here! Hightly recommend to all the travellers!

The only downside was a bit distance from the center as you have to cross the river, but not a big problem to me...

I liked everything. This homestay is very clean and has many facilities like a water machine and kitchen. The host is amazing ( hi Zack) and chatted with us and showed us around the place. We loved the cats (hi Sitam, the black cat). This is the place that we will miss most from this trip so far.

A bit out of the center, but all the positive things beat this completely.

Zac is a remarkable person, always going long ways for guest happiness. We are very grateful. He is very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. Always cold and hot water available together with coffee and tea. Room and bathroom were spacious and WIFI was excellent. Location in a very nice neighborhood, ferry river crossing at times adventurous.

At times the A/C was a bit on the loud side, in this season we could spend the night having A/C off. Everything else was great.

The host,Zack is exceptional knowledgeable on what to do in Kuching (he even came up with booklet recommending how to arrange for day trips) and very up to date on the events going on in Kuching. We love the Coway water machines that allows us to refill our water daily.

I stayed for seven days with my family. Our stay was exceptional. The owner is very, very nice, helping, and cooperative. Our checkout time was 19:00, he didn't charge any extra. He helped us to drop us near the river to get a boat. When we were coming back he paid for us to the taxi driver without my knowledge, when we arrived at the airport driver told us he had already paid for you. About stay, there is a separate entrance for family. Outside is wide area and is green. Big kitchen with free coffee. Hot and cold drinking water is also a hot shower. If next I will visit kuching I would like to stay at this place. Also I would like to recommend you for safe and calmn stay. Room size is big and enough. Very strong WiFi Iron table and iron LCD AC Ceiling fan Big kitchen Free coffee and sugar And mauch more

Everything was exceptional

Here is the best place I stayed in Kuching. Room is so specious, so clean, so bright and so comfortable. Air cond and fan are good. Bathroom is clean and big and even has the clothing rack inside. Garden is beautiful and the Host is very helpful. It is a wonderful to stay and delighted my journey. That is my first choice to stay when I come back to Kuching.

It needs 10 minutes walk to the closest restaurant. A bit inconvenience go out to eat when raining.

The room was really comfy and spotless same as the bathroom and the shared kitchen. Zack is a really nice host, friendly and helpful with every request you have. He gives you a lot of tourist information. People in the neighbourhood are quite friendly too.

Be ready for an early wake up with the roaster and the mosque. If you're ok with that, it's a really nice place to stay.

Jazepuri is a real home from home and we were made to feel most welcome. Zek the owner was extremely friendly and helpful - his advice re trips, transport and places to eat was spot on. We loved the comfortable bed - the best so far and the air conditioning and ceiling fan keep the room very cool. We had use of the well equipped kitchen and really appreciated the instant hot & chilled water filter machine. Zek provided tea & coffee and was very obliging letting us leave our bags after checkout. Jazepuri is in a lovely friendly residential neighbourhood only a short walk away from the Sanpan river boat crossing to the city.

Zack was an amazing host. Very informative, gave us loads of ideas and information on locals areas and things to do. Great private bathroom, aircon & fan. Free and endless coffee, tea, and filtered water. Fridge and gas cooking facilities in outdoor courtyard. We loved the location. Away from the busy city, nestled in a very friendly suburban area but literally a 5 min walk to boat across the river (2 RMY!) to the hustle and bustle of Kuching centre. Less than 15 RYM Grab from the airport (roughly $5 AUD for 30 min ride!)

The most wonderful place we’ve stayed! The room is beautiful with great air con, a wonderful shower and a great communal area with drinking water and coffee and use of a fridge and toaster! The location is perfect, in a really lovely residential area that’s quite and pretty and just a 5 minute walk to the boat jetty to get to the centre! But the thing that makes this place special? Zac and his incredible thought and care that he puts in from your initial Booking to the moment you leave. He is the best host we’ve ever had and consider him not only a host but a friend! We can’t thank him enough for the most wonderful stay and we can’t wait to return! If you’re hesitating - don’t! you won’t find anywhere as wonderful as this place in Kuching 😄

We loved everything about it.

The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to have the options of air conditioning and fan. The garden is also gorgeous and he has two really cute cats. Zek was a really responsive host and gave us good advice regarding traveling around Kuching. He also let us leave our bags at his place on more than one occasion because we were using his place as a jumping off point to the different national parks. There was a shared refrigerator where we could leave our fruit, free tea and coffee all day long, and a fancy water filter that dispensed hot water and cold water, where the temperature was adjustable.

There is a mosque nearby and you sometimes get an unsolicited wake up call. In terms of location, it's a bit further out from the centre.

Great host and a lovely place to stay, might be the best place i have been in Malaysia.

The room was clean, very comfortable, and Mr Zack was very helpful and amazing. He went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. He allowed me to check in early at like 10:30am. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Kuching.

Disclaimer: I like Malaysia but I am from Germany. For some reason I am listed here with malay citizenship. Will let booking.com correct this, if possible. You don’t book only a room but the helpfulness and kindness of the host and owner. I also never expected to get a room equipped like this for that less amount of money. The room has plenty of space, the bathroom as well. Free drinking water, hot or cold, tee, candies. I especially appreciated the tee which is from the cameron highlands. The host did a lot of things for me you also normally wouldn’t expect. He has just fun to interact with and to help the guests, it’s a pleasure to experience. You can also go on tour with him if you want, he offers several itineraries as suggestions. So, I stayed there much longer than originally booked. Would come back again and again.

The AC was a little bit loud when compressing. But the host will check this out. The house is situated on the opposite side of the main city river side. So you have to use a (very cheap) boat to cross the river every time you want to reach the city by foot. Since the boot stops working in the early evening you should be an early bird. Or have to pay for a taxi if you don’t want to walk a quite long way home back using a pedestrian bridge.

Kampung environ away from (but close to) urban Kuching, friendly and helpful host Zak (luggage storage while we were off hiking in Bako National Park), convenient hot-and-cold drinking water dispenser, cats to entertain my daughter... Zak took us to Semenggoh for the orangutans, Wind Cave of Bau for the bats, and Sunny Hill for ice cream!

Not the homestay's fault, but the river front on this side needs upgrade for convenient foot traffic (and pleasant walk) from Pengkalan Sapi.

The room was huge. The bathroom was also very large. Everything was so clean and tidy. Zack takes pride in keeping his guests happy. He was very helpful and gave some great ideas on what to do in the area.

In more than two decades of traveling, this was by far my best experience. If I could rate it higher than 10, I would. Needless to say, room was tidy with all amenities, bed comfortable, and neighborhood cool. But what made my stay truly unique, was the host, Zack. He went to such lengths to make sure I enjoyed Sarawak at its best! He introduced me to the local culture, told me about amazing places off the beaten path and traveled there with me, and even came to my rescue a couple of times when I got stranded due to poor public transport. I am so grateful, and looking forward to going back to Kuching!

Zek the owner is fantastic! He speaks really good English, is a respected member of his community and knows everything about the local area and Sarawak in general. The property has security gates and a separate entrance so you can easily come and go. it is directly opposite the main bazaar and is a 1 minute boat ride to the busy central town, a great way to start the day. Zek runs very reasonably priced tours can take you to any cultural, nature and wildlife experiences which I enjoyed or you can just stay there and do your own thing. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

The place is super comfy, spacious and clean. Many furnitures for storage. Nicely decorated room and common kitchen. With a separate private entrance. Free parking inside the property. It also has a nice garden.

The location is inside a residential area, which takes quite a lot of turns to reach. Still an ideal location for leisure trips. But a little less convenient for business trips.

Very comfortable, across the river, quiet, a lot of food around, the owner is very friendly, recommend this hotel.
