1945 on Kloof Guesthouse

The units are stunning. Modern, clean, honestly can't ask for more. The staff are amazing. I highly recommend 1945 on Kloof.

Friendliness and professionalism of Staff

All was good

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Made our stay very comfortable.

it is super clean and Charl was the best host. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was more than just an traditional breakfast - they went out of their way to meet our needs

That booking.com ads was misleading regarding breakfast.

Friendly and professional staff. The manager went out of his way to make sure that we felt at home. It was like our home, away from home. Very clean accommodation and excellent food. Very safe and great location.

Nothing I liked -Manager was very rude ,wanted me to pay from my pocket despite a confirmation booking number

Nothing

I had such a wonderful experience at 1945 on Kloof! Warren was an absolute star, friendly, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. He whipped up both a delicious breakfast and dinner that made the stay even more special. The rooms were fantastic, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Every detail was taken care of, which made it such an easy and relaxing stay. Thank you, Warren, for your warmth and hospitality.

Warren hat uns in allen Fragen unterstützt. Perfekter Host

Good location Friendly staff Neat and clean Great coffee

Shower drain in our room was blocked

The establishment is beautiful.

The location of the guesthouse is not ideal.

The Room - Clean, very recently refurbished and well decorated, cosy. Made us feel comfortable. Staff - Extremely well managed. Excellent service from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and Dinner - Amazing. Exceptional. The Property - Safe and secure. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely return and recommend. A big thank you to all of the team - Catherine, Cynthia and Pri 👌🙏.

The location was perfect for the event we were attending.

That I couldn't bring my own alcohol into the premises.

This is a true gem. Very good and friendly service & nice comfortable, clean and modern rooms. Lunch and dinner were also delicious. Easy access to the airport or other parts of the city with Uber. Definitely worth a visit!

Nothing to dislike.

Vielen lieben Dank an Euch!

Gar nichts.

La bienveillance du personnel, le calme, la sécurité, le confort. Tout était parfait 😃 A recommander.

Tout était parfait. A recommander.

Chambre confortable dans un bâtiment agréable et fonctionnel, notamment un grand jardin et une piscine. Le diner et petit déjeuner etzients copieux et de qualité Le personnel était très agreable

The breakfast is great and the staff are all wonderful!

The room on the upper floor with terrace was spacious, comfortable and clean. The terrace was nice and sunny. The entire property is calm and beautifully located. It is also in a safe neighbourhood. We really liked the room and the property. The bed was very comfortable and big.

The breakfast could have been better. Milk was sour on two days, condiments were expired for a long time. There were (cold) pancakes, bananas and muffins on the first days, then they were not available anymore on later days. The breakfast lacked variety and freshness.

Can't complain about anything. The property is stunning and modern. This was pure luxury at an affordable price. Warren was incredibly accommodating, friendly and whips up a pretty amazing dinner and breakfast! Thanks for having me.

Nothing

Enkel og grei frokost. Kunne vært noen flere alternativ av både brød, drikke og pålegg. God og rolig atmosfære. Fantastisk personell. Svært hjelpsomme om det skulle være noe vi trengte hjelp til.

I had such a wonderful stay at 1945 on Kloof Guesthouse. The owners’ attention to detail and care for their guests was truly amazing. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and on one evening the owner even prepared dinner for us on just an hour’s notice – it was fantastic! The rooms were very comfortable with nice beds, and everything was spotlessly clean. A really warm and welcoming place to stay – highly recommended.

NOTHING

awsoem ocation - awsome staff the manager is the best. love this place - will defently stay there again

slow wifi sometimes

The owner's personal touch to our stay

It was splendid

Great

Everything was great.

The breakfast was very tasty, staff were very efficient and friendly and the overall comfort was great. It's location was good and close to the event we attended.

The only thing we did not like was the smell of smoke, presumably from another guest in a nearby room, the bathroom did smell like stagnant water, presumably from a dirty shower drain but other than that the room was clean and neat and the bed was very comfortable.

The host and staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing. Beautiful and clean. There was very convenient amenities like the light switches and plugs next to the bed and the distilled water in the taps. Would definitely stay there again

I stayed at the hostel for two days, and it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The staff were cooperative and well-organized, which made us feel at ease and reassured. What stood out the most was the meals—they were delicious and varied, and the cook was excellent in both her skills and her friendly manner. Everything met my expectations, and I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a unique hospitality experience.

An absolute hidden gem! We loved everything about the property. It felt like home, very comfortable and clean and tastefully designed and furnished. If we could have extended our stay we would. Warren and his team went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. The service was truly impeccable.

Everything

Everything

Excellent luxurious accommodation! Very charming place and good breakfast!

We stayed for 3 nights in the luxury suite which is a bigger room, and has a king bed and a small private terrace. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable, linen was good quality, crisp and clean, bathroom products were Moulton Brown - very special - and towels luxurious. I was impressed by the meticulous attention to detail. This room is on the garden side so very quiet, and the bathroom has thoughtful shower and toilet rails if needed. (My mother is disabled and so I am a guest that appreciates these extras.) The property has a 24-hour guard and an electric gate. Warren was available at any time to assist. He cooks himself and our delicious breakfasts deserve a special mention.

We had originally booked an upper room on the road side , but as my husband is a light sleeper, we chose to move. You can hear traffic from some of the bedrooms during peak times so book accordingly. The guesthouse is in an area of Jhb where you would want off-road parking and a feeling of security, which this guesthouse provides.

A combination of clean & safe place, comfortable beds, fast WiFi, room heater / aircon, hearty breakfast, friendly & accommodating staff, above all Warren who is "an embodied accommodativeness" :-) -> simply a perfect place to stay for business trips

I can't think of anything.

The restaurant and meal options were great, the bed was comfortable, the host & staff were welcoming and friendly, as well as accommodating.

The room was a little smaller than anticipated and the noise that came from the bathroom when you turned on the light was not great.

Beautiful well kept grounds. It was rainy when I stayed but I could see how gorgeous it would be on a sunny day.

Nothing I can think of.

Everything was wonderful. Attention to detail. Parking space for a SUV vehicle, most guest houses parking a challenge with a bigger size vehicle. Amenties are beautiful! Everything detail thought of.

Everything was exceptional. Warren is a fantastic host and I will definitely come and stay again. The only thing I would suggest for future guests is to ask if they would prefer one egg instead of 2 as the breakfast was a bit big to finish. Otherwise everything is amazing about the place.

NA

I loved the garden and how homey the property feels. I felt that everything from decorations to hospitality was great.

Absolutely beautiful

The location and the staff.

The manager. He had sudden mood swings. He closed (slam) doors very hard and say offensive words. The manager was rude.

The property was beautiful. It was new and well kept. The interior was designed impeccably. The area felt super safe. We had 24 hour security. The landscaping was manicured to perfection. The balcony, living areas, dining areas all Exceeded our expectations. The manager and staff served us as if we were the only thing that mattered. We received a full large breakfast each morning at the time we requested. The manager cooked to my specifications - vegetarian. They decorated prior to our arrival for an extra special anniversary celebration. The laundry — our laundry was washed and pressed by Sympathy who took extra special care of our room.

It was off the beaten path a little. We could not walk to places nearby for groceries etc. And —- that was fine. We could Uber eats- which the manager did for us. He got us snacks at the end of the night because I was hungry and suffering from jet lag.

Clean, tidy and safe

Full English breakfast for a very reasonable price. Also yoghurt / pancakes / muesli. Very tasty and good value for money. Served exactly at the time we requested.

Hé was nice

All things

Excellent hospitality. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Clean bedrooms. Owner arranged for us all trasports from/to the airport and also guided city tour.

Nothing negative at all.

Fantastic property for business trips to JHB. Luxurious linen, fast WiFi, Netflix, excellent room heater / aircon , delicious breakfast and healthy dinner options.

Can’t fault this property

Amazing space and amazing people.

Nothing

The attention to detail is exceptional. Luxurious with a warn and welcoming feeling. Food was absolutely top notch. I will be returning.

I would strongly recommend this hotel. The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. Special thanks to the manager Warren that did everything possible to assure I had a great stay in S.Africa. I felt very safe and comfortable at this spot and I'm impatient to to come back. My meals were tasty and my room was beautiful and spotless. What more could I say, it's was great to be treated with hospitality on my first visit. Such a wonderful experience.

I have no complaints, the accommodations were perfect.

On rare occasions, you find a place not expecting very much and then you're gobsmacked by how amazing a find it is. 1945 On Kloof is one of those places. Located in a quite neighborhood that is central to everything in Johannesburg this boutique hotel astounds. Staff are superb and go out if their way to make your stay perfect. The manager, Warren, acknowledges and responds to every request with a desire to ensure the needs of every guest is met. Food is great for such a small establishment and everything cooked fresh. Rooms are small but with all modern conveniences and so clean it feels like you're the first guest there. This hotel is now a firm favorite and I'll recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful, safe place to stay in Johannesburg.
