Location was fine

Place wasn’t very clean, lots of combwebs and dust. The towels provided smelt bad, the bedsheets smelt of old cigarette smoke. The pillows were so uncomfortable we had to go out and buy some of our own.

The owner met us and gave us a key and told us where to go. She did not show us I to the property. When we went in we found accommodation that was of a very poor standard with a filthy sofa and bedding which was nylon type material - not good in the heat. The place was dirty and did not resemble the photos well. I can’t understand why it got the reviews it did. In addition to this the owner should not be subletting at there are signs up stating this. It is described as a ‘homestay’ but actually it is the owner subletting.

The kitchen stainless steel drainer is rusting and needs to be replaced. The facilities inside the apartment are limited and there is no air-conditioning in the smallest room.

The pillow is too stiff /not comfy for sleeping. We had a bad sleeping experience. No tea making provided.

- lots of notices saying home stays are not allowed within the property, felt very uncomfortable. - no facilities / toiletries at all, except for one bottle of unlabelled ‘shower gel / soap’. - not clean at all, the towels in particular were very dirty. - we ended up leaving early as we felt very uncomfortable here.

So the owner was nice enough to let us check in early. However she said we should stay we are friends of hers and not staying in a home stay. When we arrived there were signs EVERYWHERE saying no home stays allowed. The security asked us several times and we did not feel comfortable at all with the situation. Definitely not the cleanest place we stayed, some of the sheets had holes and stains on.

Leaking water; ants in the kitchen and bed in the second bedroom not good. It was far away from the city with no supermarket or convince store close by. We had to take a Grab everywhere. You really need a car to stay at the place.

The view is wonderful but the amenities inside were sparse.

Location is far away from anything including store for food. We also felt like we had to hide to get in or out of the lobby. We stayed one day and left even though we had booked for a week.

The host is so not friendly. First they ask us to collect the keys from their home but i said shouldnt they are the one who should send us the keys so they agreed but we cant check inn early. Our flight was delayed then we are late to reach the place, the host scolded us for being late. And this place is actually not for homestay so we have to lie to the guard saying that we are visiting friends Facilities in the homestay induction cooker provided but the pan cant be use. Not compatible. The blanket is so thin. Not even blanket. Just like piece of cloth.

There were hundreds of ants in the room. The host gave me some spray and asked me to deal with it before changing my room. The next room was full of spiders and a few cockroaches. This place is not clean

The fan was dirty and needed to clean up the fan.

The photos of the apartment don't do it justice, it is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and spacious. An unbelievable view of the forest and ocean. I wish we stayed here for longer than just one night! The owner was very helpful and kind!

Safe and secure location in a modern sprawling gated community. The view from our 13th floor windows was impressive. The apartment is adequate for a short stay, but lacks charm or comfort. Don’t be tempted to think the location is walking distance from Sandakan city centre though - it isn’t. You will need to use Grab to get to and from anywhere (with the possible exception of the English Teahouse). Grab cars are cheap, so the cost isn’t an issue, but it adds a layer to anything you might want to do.

The staft and service given were fantastic..last minute tell them to check in early..and they manage to get us checked in..all the guard were helpfull and polite..always greet us with smile,.

Everything was good. I wish to have a long staycation there! Really recommended!!! You gonna trust me, they provided all we need! Worth the money! Loveeee

Very easy access, all done via WhatsApp and easy. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Good AC and fan. Nice view over the ocean

Not much cutlery, would be good to provide some paper towels for the kitchen. Pillows too hard, some towels smelled of cigarettes. Guests do not have access to the pool, but owner shared info about a separate pool and aquaparc.

It was a clean, comfortable apartment with a great view. The pool looked nice but, as our time was more of a stopover, we didn't have time to use it. It was quite a secure and quiet complex.

It was a bit out of the city centre but this was not really a problem if you ordered a Grab taxi

We booked this place for the pool and even though the host said it was available the guards didn't allow us to use the pool. There was no internet in the room so we had to change rooms. Little support was given and we were made to change rooms ourselves. We went for a walk to the mart down the road to purchase some things. On the way back we were harassed by a pack of stray dogs that my 7-year-old daughter was terrified of. If I hadn't been assertive towards them I am sure they would have tried to attack us. The room is only passable for tidiness. When using the bathroom the shower gets everything wet as there is no curtain. Only a thin sheet is provided on the beds so no very comfortable.

Location was good, 2min drive to Agnes Keith house & the English Afternoon Tea venue. The apartment is basic and generally clean. Check in was easy.

Didn't like that the apartment security requested for us to fill in additional forms and took a photo of us because it's a "requirement for homestay".

The place is large. Pool is excellent. Access to Sim Sim Hill for a small hike and views of the city.

Kitchen is not perfectly clean. There was a dirty wash cloth in the sink and the sink is also rusty. We walked to the mini mart and were stalked by a pack of wild dogs. I wouldn’t recommend small children walking around the complex. The kitchen could also use better cutlery.

Room was large with good sea and forest view. Host and agent was responsive to resolve issues and provided clothes rack.

No washing machine and dryer. The description stated that dryer was provided as dryer was not provided though stated in description.

The luxury is in having lots of space and a beautiful view. The furnishing is basic but I look at the price quality and that is very good. Very nice swimming pool. Note that it is closed for guests on Sunday and Monday. We had appartment on A2 13 6. The kitchen has enough equipment to prepare a simple meal for 2. We really liked that there was a toaster. There are plenty of towels, soap toilet paper. It's 3.5 km to the city, so we used a Grab taxi, which is not expensive.

The matras is really firm and I could feel the metal springs when sitting on the bed. But lying down not. So did sleep quite well

No hanger in the bathroom, should provide more utensil in the kitchen such as SS spoon and forks. It mentions the unit is good to stay for 6 people but in actual only 2 queen size beds are provided.
