The staff and owner are extremely hospitable and helpful. The location was great, not too far from Jonker but also filled with eateries and shopping malls within walking distance. Have a wonder welcome treat that is very delicious. Melaka is definitely more than just Jonker street and this location provides a mix of both especially for people who would like to explore other parts of Melaka and staying in a nice nostalgic Dutch house.

Maybe the painwork of the house needs some upgrading and touchup due to intense humidity but otherwise it probably blends it into the historical building nature.

Room was compact… it was clean neat and had everything u may need but queen size bed felt a tad small for my parents…( surprising as they were not big size)

Het is een een soort B&B met een klein zwembad aan een hele drukke weg. Wij vonden het heel jammer (voor de eigenaren) maar dit was niet wat voor ons een zomervakantie accommodatie is en wij zijn een uur na aankomst naar een hotel in het centrum van de stad verhuisd.

Il Casugria Dutch Residence è un luogo meraviglioso, a poca distanza dal centro di Malacca. Pulito, accogliente e con un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. I proprietari, sono persone gentili e accomodanti, sempre pronte ad aiutare l’ospite in qualsiasi evenienza. Raccomandatissimo!

Sean and Natasha are wonderful and welcoming the excellent chef, provided delicious The accommodation is within a truly beautiful garden including a pool.There is a communal comfortable space which can be used at any time and is a great place to relax in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay recommend it to anyone looking for a local homestay experience. We also recommend nearby Atlantic Nonya restaurant for sampling local Nyonya cuisine.

We absolutely loved our stay here in Melaka! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and cared for. The owners are truly the heart of this place — so warm, kind and attentive, and you can really feel how much love and thought they put into making their guests feel at home. The pool was definitely one of the biggest highlights for us. It was such a beautiful and peaceful spot to cool down and relax after exploring Melaka, and our little one absolutely loved it! Everything about the accommodation has a personal, thoughtful touch, but it’s the genuine hospitality of the owners that makes this place so special. We left feeling completely relaxed and very well looked after. We would absolutely stay here again and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Melaka! ❤️

Heerlijke rustige plek om tot rust te komen. Na een dagje in de stad rondhangen bood de tuin en het zwembad een fijne afwisseling om even bij te komen. Centrum op loopafstand. Heel prettige gastheer. Goed verzorgd ontbijt, afgestemd op de behoeftes van de gast

This Place is truly special: it's a quiet comforting refuge, a peaceful break from the busy city. The rooms are spacious and soundproof, the bed is comfortable and the pool is lovely. A great breakfast is included where you can taste local specialties. But what makes the difference are the hosts, Natasha and Sam. You can feel how much they care about this place and that they truly want to give each of their guests the greatest experience possible. I was travelling around Malaysia and decided to book here for a couple of nights for my birthday, as a birthday present for myself: I couldn't have made a better choice. Thank you Natasha and Sam for making these days perfect.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo magnifico residence poco lontano dal centro di Melaka; una vera e propria oasi verde e fresca che aiuta a combattere il caldo e l’umidità della città. Lo staff gentilissimo ti accoglie con piacere, come se fossi ospite in casa loro, la piscina era magnifica e la signora che cucinava era davvero molto brava. Inoltre amano davvero l’italia e ci hanno mostrato le loro Bravos, 500 e Punto. Consigliamo vivamente questo residence se doveste passare di qua.

Het ligt ideaal op loopafstand van het bruisende centrum. Als je terugkomt ben je op een rustige plek om te ontspannen en te slapen. Perfecte combinatie!

Un immense merci à Natasha et Sean pour leur accueil chaleureux et leur grande gentillesse. À notre arrivée, ils avaient pris le temps de nous préparer une délicieuse collation. Nous n'avions pas particulièrement faim, mais cette délicate attention nous a profondément touchés. Cet endroit est un véritable havre de paix, idéalement situé à proximité des principaux centres d'intérêt. La chambre est simple, mais très agréable. Quel bonheur d'ouvrir la fenêtre et d'accéder directement à la piscine ! C'est un vrai luxe qui rend le séjour encore plus relaxant. On se sent immédiatement comme chez soi. Merci encore pour votre hospitalité et pour avoir rendu notre séjour si agréable

De gastvrijheid en vriendelijkheid van de eigenaren zijn echt super. Het zwembad is erg mooi, de locatie ligt op 15min lopen van het centrum. De kamer is voorzien van airco en een ventilator. Voor een verblijf aan Melaka is dit zeker een aanrader.

Un véritable petit paradis, un jardin superbe mais aussi des rencontres incroyables. Un grand merci à nos hôtes pour leurs gentillesses et leurs disponibilités ! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Tout était parfait, charmante maison à 10 minutes à pied du centre historique. Excellents restaurants à deux minutes, où nous sommes allés sur les conseils de Sean et Natasha les deux hôtes, qui sont juste formidables, pleins de bons conseils !

こちらのオーナーのお二人は私たちを暖かく迎え入れてくださり、とても優しく素敵な人柄です。今回の滞在中に2歳の娘が発熱して、祝日だったためGrabがなかなか手配できなかったところ、病院へ連れて行くよと声をかけてくれました。それだけでなく必要なものを快く用意してくださり本当に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。施設も緑溢れる素敵な邸宅で、非日常を感じさせてくれます。

参考までに、部屋には冷蔵庫とティッシュペーパーは備え付けがないです。

Située au calme, proche d excellents restaurants et à 15mn du centre très animé. . Le propriétaire, Sean, est extrêmement sympathique et est vraiment au petit soin. En outre, le petit déjeuner local est un regal. Si l'occasion se présente, nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

I’ve had one of my best stays over here. Sean and Natasha made me feel at home the moment I arrived. Amazing hosts, delicious local breakfast, nice clean pool, cosy clean room. Didn’t want to leave the residence while I was there 🤭 Will be back for sure!!

Casugria is a "gem"; walking distance to top nyonya restaurants and A Famosa area. The premise has a homely vibe with serene surroundings. The host @ owners are welcoming, friendly and nice. Kids and elderly friendly residence. Sound proof rooms.

Na dagen in hotelkamers te hebben overnacht was de B@B een verademing. Het ruime tuinhuisje, de tuin, de rust en stilte. De vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer waren zeer zorgzaam , het ontbijt was elke dag een aangename verrassing.De B@B ligt op loopafstand van het oude centrum en van moderne winkelcentra. Er zijn veel eetgelegenheden op loopafstand, de keuze is reuze.

Een oase van rust in de stad. Het is het enige nog bestaande koloniale Nederlandse woonhuis in Malakka. Er is een grote tuin met veel mooie bomen, planten en bloemen en een heerlijk zwembad. De eigenaren zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamers zijn erg netjes. Wij hadden twee kamers. De familiekamer (met 4 slaapplekken) en een tweepersoonskamer omdat we een gezin zijn met drie kinderen. Ik zou deze plek zeker aanraden aan gezinnen. Je loopt zo het centrum van Malakka in, terwijl je je in de accommodatie ook kan onttrekken aan de drukte van de stad. De accommodatie is ommuurd, waardoor het ook heel veilig is. Het ontbijt was heel erg lekker en uitgebreid. Bij aankomst (rond het avondeten) hadden de eigenaren heerlijke plaatselijks snacks voor ons gemaakt, eigenlijk een volwaardige maaltijd, zodat we niet meer naar de stad hoefden om een restaurant te zoeken om te dineren. Dat hebben wij als heel fijn ervaren.

Goede ligging, heerlijk zwembad en aardige eigenaren

We hadden met onze kinderen een paar fijne dagen bij Sean en Natasha. Het zijn warme mensen die zorgen dat het je aan niets ontbreekt. Zeer goede locatie dichtbij bezienswaardigheden en toch rustig. Het zwembad was een fijne plel om te ontspannen, en ook de tuin en gemeenschappelijke ruimte was erg prettig.

Heerlijk ontbijt, vriendelijke gastheer en vrouw, mooie kamer en een goed bed. Absoluut aan te raden om hier een paar dagen te verblijven!

Het huis ligt helaas aan een drukke weg, dus als je naar het centrum wilt of restaurant, dan is het begin van de wandeling niet ideaal.

Een prachtig huis in een heerlijke tuin. Betere hosts dan Sean en Natasha kun je je niet wensen. Zeer hartelijke mensen. Heel goed ontbijt, sla vooral de roti canai niet af.

De kleinschaligheid van de locatie, de persoonlijke aandacht van Sean en Natascha als gastheer en gastvrouw, het vers gemaakte locale ontbijt met dagelijkse variatie, het verkoelende zwembad, de groene tuin als rustige oase en het sfeervolle pand vol historie, maakt dit echt een heerlijke plek waar wij zeker naar teruggaan als we Melaka weer bezoeken. En bovendien prima op loopafstand van het drukke centrum gelegen.

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour. L'accueil est exceptionnel, les hôtes sont très gentils et disponibles afin que nous passions un bon séjour. Le petit-déjeuner est incroyable, chaque jour nous avons pu découvrir de nombreuses spécialités. Le logement est très bien situé à -15min à pied des lieux d'intérêt de la ville. La piscine est très appréciée après les ballades. Le jardin est magnifique. Franchement on recommande.

Moeilijk om nog iets toe te voegen aan alle goede reviews die al gegeven zijn. Het klopt allemaal, je wordt heel vriendelijk ontvangen en dat blijft ook zo tijdens het verblijf. Uitstekend ontbijt en theetijd versnaperingen. Loopafstand naar belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden en de goede aanbevelingen voor restaurants, route of wat dan ook door Natasha of Sean. De kleinschaligheid van de accomodatie geeft een echt rustpunt in de hectiek van het reizen.

This is a lovely property with 4 comfortable rooms in the garden and around the pool. The garden provides an oasis of greenery, the pool is great and the breakfasts are delicious. Best of all is the personalised service of Sean and Natasha, who go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. They made our stay memorable. Highly recommended.

We had the most amazing stay at Casugria. Sean and Natasha are so warm and kind. They welcomed us really well and made sure we were comfortable and had everything. Special mention to the breakfast because it was absolutely mind blowing!! The best local food we had was at the stay haha!

Man følte sig øjeblikkelig velkommen og hjemme der. De lavede hjemmelavet morgenmad hver morgen. lokation væk fra fra larmen i centrum men tæt nok på til at man gå derhen. Det ligger kun et par minutter fra de bedste spisesteder som bestemt ikke ligger i centrum. Var på en cykeltur på landet som var arrangeret via en kontakt fra stedet. Meget spændende og rart at se lidt forskelligt.

Loved the beautiful gardens and the sparkling swimming pool. The hosts Sean and Natasha were outstanding- warm and friendly. Breakfast was also a highlight.

It was a little further away from the centre of the old town than I would have liked though this meant it was a quiet oasis.

Wir haben uns in der Casugria Dutch Residence 1810 bei Natasha und Sean sehr wohl gefühlt. Die überaus herzliche Gastfreundschaft von Sean und Natasha, die wirklich alles tun, um ihre Gäste zu verwöhnen, haben wir sehr geschätzt. Casugria bietet eine sehr angenehme Boutique-Resort-Atmosphäre mit nur wenigen Chalets und somit ist Privatsphäre und ein intimer Aufenthalt gewährleistet. Ein grosses Highlight ist der Pool, den wir bei den hohen Temperaturen sehr genossen haben. Uns wurde jeden Morgen ein köstliches und abwechslungsreiches hausgemachtes Frühstück mit authentischen malaysischen, indischen und chinesischen Gerichten, oft mit frischen lokalen Zutaten zubereitet.

If you want peace & quiet, this is the hotel to choose. It’s a small hotel, about 20 min walk from the old town centre. A very tasty breakfast is cooked by Elizabeth and served from 9 onwards. Both Elizabeth and her daughter Rose are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. The garden is beautifully planted with all sorts of plants. The swimming pool is great at the end of a hot day. Right next door is a very good Indian restaurant , O La Mekala.

Die Umgebung des holländischen Kolonial- Bürgerhauses (des letzten dieser Art in Melaka) war aussergewöhnlich schön. Die Gastgeberin Natascha ist ausgebildete Botanikerin und das ist überall erkennbar.

Perfecte locatie, een oase midden in de stad. De ‘belangrijke’ touristische plekken zijn op loopafstand. Huis en tuin zijn ontzettend sfeervol, voorzieningen zijn niet het alleenieuwst meer maar absoluut een dikke voldoende. Ik reisde als vrouw alleen met een 4 jarige dochter en voelde mij veilig op deze plek. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend vriendelijk en helpen je graag met alles!

Prachtige accommodatie met een heerlijk zwembad. Ik verbleef hier in november als solo backpacker en wilde even tot rust komen, en dat was goed gelukt. Ik voelde me erg welkom en comfortabel. De hosts zijn ontzettend gastvrij. Zeker een aanrader!

The owners Sean and Natasja and their incredible cook Elisabeth made our stay at this pearl of a hotel an unforgettable experience. The four rooms are located in the beautiful garden of the old Governeurs House, where history and beauty meet. The marvellous warm breakfast with pleasant stories starts your day in Melaka beautifully. Sean presented during the day all kind of local foodsnacks. In the patio you can sit and enjoy fresh water, tea or coffee all day. So much better than the big hotels!

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux et deux jours inoubliables à Malacca. Sean et Natasha sont des hôtes exceptionnels, extrêmement accueillants et toujours aux petits soins. On se sent tout de suite comme à la maison. La maison est magnifique, pleine de charme, et le jardin est un véritable havre de paix, calme et luxuriant. Le petit-déjeuner fait maison est un vrai régal, préparé avec soin et authenticité. Une adresse que nous recommandons les yeux fermés, et où nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Dit authentieke, kleinschalige hotel was voor ons echt een gouden vondst. Perfect gelegen: op loopafstand van het centrum, maar toch heerlijk rustig, zonder de drukte van de binnenstad. Het zwembad (uniek in deze omgeving!) was een fijne bonus na een dag op pad te zijn geweest. Maar wat dit hotel echt bijzonder maakt, zijn de ongelooflijk gastvrije mensen — ze doen werkelijk alles om je welkom te laten voelen en je verblijf onvergetelijk te maken. Wij hebben enorm genoten en zouden hier zonder twijfel zo weer terugkomen. Dankjewel Sam en Natascha!

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad! In de accommodatie ontbreek het je aan niks maar de hosts maken het een home away from home. We kwamen met een baby die vanaf het eerste moment als een koningin behandeld werd door de hosts. Een baby stoeltje was nog niet aanwezig. Wij maakte daar geen punt van en zette gewoon de buggy aan tafel, maar binnen 2,5 uur na aankomst waren de hosts een kinderstoeltje gaan shoppen.

A lovely guesthouse full of historical character in Melaka. The owners are gracious hosts and get to know every guest. Delicious homemade breakfasts, a nice covered patio to relax on, and a relaxing dip pool with a pretty garden- what more can you ask for?

Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Casugria sehr genossen. Wir waren fünf Nächte dort. Jeden Tag gab es tolles Frühstück mit frisch zubereiteten Köstlichkeiten. Natasha und Sean haben uns in diesen Tagen sehr verwöhnt. Wenn man nach Malakka kommt, sollte man an diesem schönen Ort wohnen.

de gastheer en gastvrouw proberen er alles aan te doen om je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken! Er heerst een erg familiale sfeer die versterkt wordt omdat er maar 4 kamers zijn! Het ontbijt was fantastisch en uitgebreid! Het beddengoed was superfijn!

Een relaxt verblijf in één van de vier accommodaties in een ruime privé tuin met zwembad. De gastgevers Sean en Natasha zijn op een natuurlijke manier buitengewoon zorgzaam, het ontbijt is onovertroffen en regelmatig kwam er in de middag een vers bereid lokaal pool-hapje langs. Privacy wordt daarbij gerespecteerd!

Das kleine Hotel ist sehr charmant und hat nur vier Zimmer, was zu der sehr familiären Atmosphäre beiträgt. Mein Zimmer war liebevoll eingerichtet, das große Bett sehr bequem, geduscht mit Vogelgezwitscher, da das Bad Öffnungen nach draussen hat. Sehr leckeres Frühstück mit lokalen Spezialitäten! Der Pool ist hübsch und gepflegt. Das alles war schon schön genug aber das Besondere ist die überaus herzliche Gastfreundschaft von Sean und Natasha, die wirklich alles tun, um ihre Gäste zu verwöhnen und eine tolle Atmosphäre schaffen. Ich habe mich selten so gut aufgehoben gefühlt und werde diesen Aufenthalt nicht vergessen. Danke !!!

We had a great stay! It's a beautiful historical Dutch guesthouse within walking distance from the old city where you can see beautiful Unesco world heritage buildings. Lovely owners. Very friendly! Very hospitable! Ryan, their son, took us on a tour through Malakka, which was great. We definitely recommend it to everyone who likes to learn about Malakka's rich culture and history (on foot). Breakfast was delicious too. If you are in Malakka you should definitely stay here. We loved the guesthouse but foremost the personal touch from the owners. We had a very nice four night stay away from the bustling city centre, everybody was very nice and cared for us in every possible way. We got different breakfast each day, introducing new Malay dishes. The pool was perfect for our morning and afternoon swim and the room was really great with old furniture, matching the fact that the Dutch residence was built 1810. We can only recommend this place for everyone that need peace and quiet after the noisy city centre.

The hotel is a lovely building, an oasis of calm. The pool is fantastic and individually cooked breakfasts with local themes are always interesting but perhaps not always to everyone's tastes. The owners are very friendly and interesting to talk to

This place is an absolute gem, it's an oasis in the middle of Melakka with a beautiful garden, relaxing pool and historical building. We felt so safe and welcome. The owners are truly the best hosts you can wish for. They did their absolute best to give us an amazing holiday with excellent service. They were super with our kids. The authentic breakfast is amazing, and they helped us arranging transport to KL. 100% recommendation. Thanks Natasha & Sean ❤️

All was amazing!

We werden enorm gastvrij ontvangen door de aardige lieve eigenaren. We kwamen terecht in een oase van rust. Er heerst een fijne sfeer, het ligt handig, op loopafstand van het centrum. Echte aanrader!!

Die Gastgeber waren überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück war sehr lecker und es gab eine gute Auswahl. Wir haben uns zu jedem Zeitpunkt sehr willkommen und wohl gefühlt. Wir können einen Aufenthalt nur weiterempfehlen.

Das einzige was optimiert werden könnte ist die Schließanlage am Haupttor.

Een heel warm ontvangst is de eerste herinnering die bij me opkomt wanneer ik terugdenk aan het verblijf. De host Sean en familie is ontzettend warm en maakt deze fraaie, kleinschalige residentie tot een plek waar je je direct thuis voelt. Fijne, geluidsdichte kamer, heerlijk zwembad en fijn ontbijt. Grote aanrader!!

Kleine Insel der Ruhe im umtriebigen Melakka. Nette Zimmer und schöner Pool in einem angenehmen Garten. Die Gastgeber Sean und Natasha überschlagen sich vor Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft. Hervorragendes Frühstück.

駐車場もそばにあり、ホテルにアクセスしやすいです。 オーナーのショーンさんと、ナターシャさんの心のこもったオモテナシがうれしかったです。 プールで泳ぐのも楽しかったです。部屋も広くて、ベッドも固めでとても寝やすかったです。 朝食はとてもおいしかったです。 柔らかいパンや、オムレツなど、とても満足な朝食でした。

ホテルに入るときの入口の大きな扉のところで、鍵が旧式なので、 少しコツが必要で扉が重たくて、少し開けづらかったです。

What a truly amazing place! Sean has created a wonderful oasis of natural charm and beauty that is a great place to stay. The charming, colonial accommodation, excellent food, beautiful pool and the wonderful garden surroundings make this such a special place. Sean and his resident chef Elizabeth are unrivalled in their hospitality, friendliness and genuine care for their guests. Within minutes of arriving we felt like long lost friends and we sincerely hope to return one day. The breakfasts freshly prepared by Elizabeth every morning are so delicious and varied, giving you an excellent start to the day. Everything about our stay was perfect and we frankly could not recommend it highly enough.

We liked everything.

We had a wonderful few days in the Dutch House. The hosts were very helpful and presented an excellent breakfast with a selection of local delicacies. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and had a view on the pool which was a welcome respite after a days walking. The distance to all sites is comfortably walkable. There is a street with great restaurants nearby. The garden surrounding the property was full of plants and trees and pleasant to sit in and contemplate the history of the town and the house itself.

The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating.

A disappointing location in a rundown end of town. Access after dark was extremely tricky.

L’accueil chaleureux, la bienveillance du personnel, la localisation à 15 min à pied du centre, la magnifique piscine, le petit déjeuner avec des produits locaux.

Manque de shampoing et après shampoing, les produits d’hygiène mis à disposition sont limités.

De eigenaren van Casugria Dutch Residence 1810 zijn ontzettend aardig en warmhartig met een fijne verwelkoming en een gezellig praatje. Ook was de kamer voorzien van alle luxe. Het ontbijt dat iedere dag vers klaar gemaakt wordt, was het lekkerste die wij de hele vakantie gehad hebben en werd met trots en liefde uitgelegd door de eigenaar. Bij het zwembad kan je helemaal tot rust komen. Het huis is een oud Nederlands gebouw dat helemaal in de stijl van de stad past en is goed onderhouden met een groene tuin en lounge plek.
