You can see how much love & care has gone into this space. It was so well looked after. I loved sitting outside in the morning with my coffee and sketchbook, watching the tui and listening to the bird song. Sunset on the beach is a must!! And the bonus chutney & honey was such a nice touch. Can’t wait to come back in summer!

Great little studio. Everything we needed for our stay. Lovely little gifts produced from hosts garden. Private and comfortable.

Only very minor complaint was the BBQ grill a little mouldy.. Otherwise everything else was spotlessly clean.

I loved the decor. The attention to details such as coffee, tea, comfort of the bed was ideal.Thank you. There had been a lot of thought gone into making the room comfortable. I have posted some interior photos of decor I enjoyed. The gave you a small jar of honey and fejioa relish which was a lovely touch. Also good plunger coffee.

I missed not having a TV as the weather wasn't very pleasant and we are seniors and the All Blacks were playing... I think it would be great for a summer break.

Would of been nice to have heater on when we arrived. Was winter and took awhile to warm up. But place was lovely other than that.

Awesome accomodation, super tidy, close to the bakery and beach as well as public transport, perfect for a weekend getaway, great set up with additional beach towels provided and card games! Loved the outdoor shower after a swim at the beach too!

Fantastic! Really cute, very comfortable, super well equipped, quiet and perfect location. Local cafe right next door 2 mins walk was excellent for breakfast, and a choice of restaurants in town was very good with easy parking. Communication, instructions and tips from our host Charles were speedy precise and brilliant. Exceptional accommodation for a wonderful stay, very highly recommended indeed!

I wish I had time to stay longer and that the weather was warmer!

The place is the perfect retreat for a couple. It feels intimate, is small but very well thought out and has everything you need. Loved the outdoor area. Really sweet!

I thought the entire property had been talked up . The welcome notes were pretentious , the bedroom / bathroom were furnished with the cheapest furniture and yet the price did not reflect that . There continual street noise but the hosts stated it was a very quiet street . We could not find the luscious gardens mentioned in the notes

So well located not far from the beach, and across the corner from an amazing bakery. This little unit is the perfect place to stay, nice clean bathroom, super comfy bed, and perfect little outside space.

Cosy, comfortable, clean, had everything you need. Great communication from the owners and so cheap. Excellent location to the golf course and the beach. Provided beach bag, towels and sunscreen if you were heading out to the beach for the day. Pretty garden and a Weber BBQ if you wanted to cook dinner and have a drink in the sun. Had a sample of their radish and honey produced by them for guests to take home. Nice little touch. Would absolutely book this cute property again if we have another golf tournament in Waikanae.

Quirky , immaculate., well thought out, Room. Unavoidable sounds of nature. I had never before noticed the rustle of different foilage in the breeze varys amongst plants.. Saw and heard a variety of happy birds. Was able to move around in comfort while been encouraged by the carefully planned spac, to breathe and feel still. An unexpected,.much needed bonus.

The house.was.closer.to.the.cpttage. Than I expected, but this wasn't necessarily a downfall. I found myself smiling at the sounds of a happy home especially the antics of a dog I that sounds like she had a lot of character. More than anything I felt my noise would impose on the hosts. The separation and respect for privacy were given, while making it clear in initially communication that the hosts would be more that happy to accommodate any requests.

From the outside, there is no indication of the cosy, beautifully decorated and furnished cottage that awaits when you open the door. We loved the super comfy bed with lovely bed linens and the pretty bathroom - great shower and towels. The kitchenette had every thing we needed (and would have needed for a longer stay). The decor was eclectic and made the space cosy and interesting. It sits in a private tropical courtyard which came complete with weber BBQ, outdoor table and chairs and Cape Cod chairs for relaxing and watching the stars. Thank you Charles and Helen for the thoughtful extra touches, including the relish and honey from your property, the garden flares and the beach towels! The location was super, with a great fish and chip shop and bakery just around the corner and a few minutes walk to stunning Waikanae Beach with its buzzy cafes. It is also well sited if you are heading to/from the Interislander Ferry and don't want to stay in Wellington.

It was perfect. Our one regret was that we were only there for one night and had to leave very early to catch the Interislander ferry.

Loved everything! Such a fabulous little Bach. It’s small but roomy. Great bathroom. Everything you need or think of is there. Great hosts; great place. Sad we didn’t meet Bonnie (the family doggy) but all was lovely.

Communication with owners was great. Very comprehensive and useful. Cute little outdoor area to sit in and so close to the beach - just a 6 minute stroll. Comfy inside with lovely cane lounge chairs and a foldout dining table. Huge bed is wonderful with gorgeous comfy linen and accessories. Cafes near the beach were lovely, but the bakery and takeaway just up the road were fabulous.Lots of kitchen implements - nothing has been left out.

Nothing really. It was all good. Microwave is good to have. Maybe a simple hot plate in the kitchen would be handy, although the bbq outside was amble cooking facilities.

Haumoana is perfect for a couple. It is very private, petite but has absolutely everything you need, brimming with cute decor and any creature comforts you might need. We stayed only one night but plan to come back. Charles provided detailed instructions on how to enter the property, helpful and clear notes for visitors.

I wouldn’t say it was something we didn’t like but we didn’t realise just how hot it would be at night. There was a fan which was great! But I think we may have needed another 😅

A very cosy flat overlooking a private garden which you have just for yourself.the furniture,the bed,the towels and everything in the flat was top grade. The host was very thoughtful with little presents too! You fell welcome as soon as you arrive.this is one of the best guesthouses we have ever had.

This was the perfect getaway from Wellington. The location is perfect, so close to the beach. Bus to train station nearby also. It was such a cute little studio, we loved the decor and the peaceful garden. The outdoor shower v was a great addition. BBQ ignition didn't work but we honoured out how to light it with the help of my sister. Mosquito screens on windows would have been appreciated but I know kiwis don't use them for some reason. Delightful otherwise, thank you hosts!

Secluded section, very private. Walking distances to beach, tavern, cafe, grocery store. Small unit, but fine for two of us. Shower is large, bed was very comfortable.

We were happy with the unit and the location.

Just a few blocks from a gorgeous beach. The host provided all of the necessary information and it was very convenient and sweet little place. I was not able to connect to the Wi-Fi but that might’ve been something I did or didn’t turn on since I’m visiting from overseas.

All of it unit was clean tidy well laid out. Bed comfortable shower was good. Had a homely and personal touch with decor, bbq and beach bag were an excellent addition along with the jam spreads. Would like to stay again. Thank-you.

Cute place with everything you need. It was easily accessable and private. It had a lovely little garden where we could sit outside.

It was quite hot and with the warning of mosquitoes, we didnt want to leave the windows open. The fan in the room did not cool it down enough to my liking but I run hot so others may not feel the same. I think an aircon would be an excellent addition.
