Waikanae Beach Suite Retreat

Great little place located nice and close to the sea, close enough to hear the waves. Space was super clean and really comfortable. We loved our stay here, and also took advantage of the Sauna project that is literally a stones throw away.

It was spacious, very quiet, private and welcoming with the heaters on. The generosity and attention to detail of the owners was exceptional. The bathroom was very well supplied and the shower was excellent. We enjoyed having a heated towel rail.

Had everything we needed for our short stay and was very comfortable. Loved how close it was to the beach and The Sauna Project. Would stay again!

Loved staying here - the accommodation was spacious and we loved the snacks and goodies left for us to enjoy. Comfortable bed and plenty of space for luggage etc. The shower was good too. The beach is very close by, good restaurants are within walking distance (about 20 mins walk). Loved staying and hopefully we’ll be back when we’re back in NZ

Such a beautiful place, quiet and right by the beach so you can enjoy a walk any time of the day. Nice amenities with a personal touch. Would highly recommend for a safe and relaxing get away. Easy check in process.

A private, beautiful and spacious accommodation that was spotlessly clean and very well organised. Perfectly located, with everything thoughtfully set up. The host was very helpful and quick to reply. We also loved the visit from their cat, Mouse 😉. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

The facilities were great, very friendly welcome, owners were flexible and easy and quick to reach. Location was avail, garden beautiful.

Close to beach, beach was excellent, quiet, the hosts are doing exceptional work for guests to feel welcome even compared to average exceptional standards we have experienced in New Zealand.

We had to leave to early to catch the ferry.

The check in process was easy to follow with straightforward, well laid out instructions. Everything needed to access the property was provided upfront, making arrival smooth and stress free Loved the decor, simplistic & modern while providing a retro charm A thoughtful selection of board games and books was available, offering a cosy, relaxing way to unwind and making the stay feel even more welcoming.

I wasn't aware it was located under the main house. Not a detractor at all, we were out most days!

Drive had some raised concrete ramps at entrance which damaged underside of car

Everything was fantastic

What we liked? Very roomy, large bathroom, washing machine, great beds, spacious outdoor area, so close to the beach. All the extras, fruit, chocolates etc. Mouse, the cat! Fridge wasn't working properly and hosts immediately bought a new one. Such great service.

These are not complaints but suggestions. If they were there we would definitely come back and stay longer. There was no cooktop, but hosts were so kind to lend us their airfryer as we were staying 3 nights. Also, we missed a proper table and comfy chairs outside to sit and have our meals. There is so much space outside and it could easily fit.

The airiness, the spaciousness, the outside patio, the cleanliness, the cat.

A little bit of noise from upstairs and no stove top.

Attention to detail, complementary fruit & chocolates etc. Quality of furnishings and appliances, great coffee machine. Everything was catered for.

This apartment is gorgeous. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, nicely decorated, easy parking, everything about it was excellent. And the coffee machine and fancy pods- wow!!! Nice outdoor area, also immaculate.

Great location, quiet, close to the beach, neighbourhood felt safe. We loved the 'little extras' like fruit, muesli bars & wine! We also loved 'Mouse' the cat popping in to see us!

The pillows on the bed were too soft & thin for me, however I saw the nice feather ones that I'd covered over when hanging my clothes on the clothing rack !

Peter and Pauline have created the perfect retreat with exceptional attention to detail and thoughtful touches of fresh fruit and chocolates.

This property should be the exemplar for all others to aim for.

Weather didn't play ball!

All the amenities are complete, and the landlord has thoughtfully considered everything for the tenants, giving it a feeling of being home.

The home made muffins and personalised note were lovely!

clean tidy, nice bed, warm, good location, has heaps of space, Its right next to the beach, basic kitchen with coffee, nice and quiet, have fruits and muffins which were very tasty. nice little get away, very friendly owners

Can hear the people on top floor so consious that they can hear us, can hear people walking around and when things drop we get a bit of a fright

Could have used some wardrobe/draw space. TV was a bit of a monster-WE couldn't get it working but to be honest we didn'ttry too hard
