The host Kyla is so so welcoming, cannot do enough for her guests! We really appreciated the little details like the bookshelf/ snacks she left for us & even treats for our dog! The location is amazinggg right in front of the beach so central! We will be back, thank you!

The location couldn't have been better. Walking distance to the beach or pier or any bar restaurant or even the golf course. The secure court yard for kids and pets was perfect for us. The host kaylah was extremely polite and approachable. We will definitely stay again

The location was perfect, right on the Main Street close to everything, the beach was a 2 minute walk. The large back garden had 2 separate areas that were fully enclosed for the dog.

When I arrived there was no one at the property. It was a ground floor apt. The windows were wide open. I was able to get my head inside. The odour was awful. It was obvious that the property had pets in it or something which caused a smell.

Location right in the centre of the village and across from the beach. Cost and is suitable for a few nights.

The anax apartment is in poor condition and facilities are of a low standard. But worse was the musty smell and some of the items are dated/damaged with wear and tear. But the cost is so low, so as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

I liked Everything! Perfect setting off the main road in Downings, quiet, safe and secure and just steps from the beach, shops and restaurants. The host, is so lovely, friendly and welcoming and actually came round to make sure I had managed to access the apartment (although she had given excellent instructions on how to do so), and had everything I needed.... and I did! It is a delightful, cosy, and comfortable place to stay. I was on my own but it would be perfect for a couple too with an additional sofa for extras! It is spacious and has all the amenities required and I was surprised how spacious it felt. I also really appreciated the Welcome Package and note which, were a delightful surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Beach Golf Getaway Apartment 1 and have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it as an ideal place to stay for travellers to this area of Donegal. If I'm visiting this area again I would definitely want to stay here. My thanks to the hosts for making my stay so enjoyable... despite the wet weather! but, it was winter and it is Ireland!

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like about this property.

Nothing. The place was very disappointing texted them about the heating no reply.

The place was absolutely freezing, we stayed for 10 minutes booked into the Beach Hotel. We were that glad to stay somewhere warm.

Apartment was perfect, everything you could need was there.

No lights in the courtyard. There was a sensor light, on our door but not working. Had to buy a torch. Big tv but no stations

Hosts had heat on so it was warm when we entered. They had buns milk tea etc for us. Lovely touch.

Bedroom heater didnt work and draught coming through bedroom window.

We just loved the apartment and Kyla was so helpful and friendly .The apartment was well equipped with lots of extra touches . Location was perfect ,right in centre of Downings .A little gem !

Location to amenities and beach. Nice big parking space and large seated area in the back garden.

The outside of the house could do with painting and renovating. It looked a bit run down. A few plants at the front garden would be more inviting.

Good clean place in a good location. Owners arrange the place for a comfortable stay and take care of guests.

The outside street was overflowing with cars. But probably because of the good weather.

Lots of noise from house above from 5-30 am…..sofa bed was cripplingly uncomfortable - not good for a golf trip. Facilities required maintenance. No parking.

This is probably the most welcoming and well stocked place I have ever stayed. Dog beds and bowls for my dog, snacks in the cupboard, milk in the fridge.

No light for outside space at night time, just security light.

The bed linen was filthy clearly unchanged from the previous guest(s) the sofa bed was also unclean. The property smelt of damp.

Wi-Fi was excellent which is hard to get in Downings. Cosy apartment, home away from home. Excellent location and great price for 7 days. We had a brilliant holiday and were sad to leave. The host Kyla was so helpful and friendly😃

It was a lovely little apartment in the middle of the village. It had everything we needed and more. It is very well equipped for self catering and there were nice touches like water and biscuits left for us

Parking is limited at the apartment although there is plenty of free parking just a short distance away in public car park.

Perfect location. We only stayed one night amd it had everything we needed. Our hosts were there for whatever we needed. Great stay

Beds need an upgrade

We did not have details sent to access the property and had to call to get the codes. The toilet was broken and would not fill up after flushing. There is no fire alarm in the property.

Fantastic location and great host. Will be back for sure on my next stay in Downings…

Location was in the centre of town but everything else was so bad.

The 2 apartments were booked to accommodate for 6 adults and 2 children. The double bed in apartment no 1 was slightly bigger than a standard single bed, the sofa beds even with mattress toppers were hard as nails and anyone who slept on these complained of sore backs the next day. Situation was that bad the grandparents within the group decided to look elsewhere to stay as was totally unsuitable to sleep 8 people. Apartment no 2 smelt of damp. Both were small, and dingey. After raising all complaints with the owner, I was told that she had come across my type before, looking for a refund or a discount for any excuse whatsoever, the attitude was appalling and made no attempt whatsoever to excuse the small beds, smell, hard sofa beds or any of the other many issues with these properties. The electrical sockets were also loose and hanging out of the walls with loose wires, totally inappropriate and dangerous for children. The small garden area hadn't had the grass cut in months and was told a gardener would arrive the next day and he never appeared the entire time of our stay. We all left and went home 1 full day early as it was so unpleasant and uncomfortable. It would a punishment to stay there any longer as was so uncomfortable, its clear these properties are simple money making pits with no desire to provide comfort to the renter whatsoever, would never stay again.

the location is excellent, very centrally located in the village and parking spaces are available and the shower was OK. The hotel opposite was very nice, as were the retaurants and amenities in the area - especially the Harbour bar!

The musty smell hit us the moment we opened the door, the smell presumably means there is a damp problem, furniture was very tired, the sofa bed was old and uncomfortable, the room blinds were not very useful when the light streams through the glass in the doors on both bedrooms or round the cracks in the door. When the neighbours shower, there is a loud banging noise that wakes you up, when all three shower, it lasts for 45 minutes, the pictures of the exterior of the place were misleading - it's a lean-to apartment out the back. There's a huge TV, but does not seem to work (especially with no wifi!) and in 2024 there's absolutely no wifi in the place and you're in a location with really poor mobile phone reception. It's the first bad experience I've had on Booking.com. I think the other apartment in this location must be a lot better!

Really great location, right in the centre of Downings, and close to the beach. Clean, comfortable accommodation with great directions from the host. Lovely stay - we all slept so well!

No heating no toaster , tv but no ariel hence no TV, no WiFi, scaffolding everywhere, not fit for purpose 😢

It is in a great Location just across from beach , dog friendly and fresh and clean.

We were met by the host on arrival, very friendly and showed us everything we needed. Fab location. Will definitely be back.

The property is in an excellent location. Only minutes from shops, restaurants and the beach. The hosts were extremely amicable and help us with anything we needed.
