Spa stationed next door to neighbors window, lacked privacy. Used half of spa as lid very heavy, unable to remove. Wooden posts as steps to spa unsafe. Need handrail for steps up to house. Lawn contractor arrived while house rented. Outside furnishing lacked comfort, no outdoor cushions.

We loved the location and the lay out of the house

Sounds fussy but the beds were not that comfortable all 4 adults and 2 children 🙈

Great location for a relaxing stay. Beautiful views of the beach, ocean and mountains. Secluded deck for sitting outside. Great facilities and the hot tub was a bonus!

The only thing was the bed in the main bedroom had quite a hard mattress and could have done with a topper - however subjective depending on preference. Couldn't really fault it otherwise 😀

This property is in the perfect location for a visit to Kaikoura. The views of the mountains are breathtaking and the ocean is close by. The property is a great option for a family holiday, there are lots of areas to chill out/ seating. The open kitchen/ dining area is lovely and perfect for families to be together. We were blown away by the surrounding area and would love to return. Property Manager Kylie was very helpful, kind and a great communicator. Thanks so much!

Fabulous house in the perfect location.

Very clean, great location, modern facilities.

Pillows were Terrible and bed could be better, 1 bathroom was tough with 2 families.

The house is very neat and kitchen is well equipped. Able to cook rice/porridge with other dishes. It has full suite of utensils and cutlery. Love the sea view from the open kitchen though not at the beachfront.

One of the rooms can get very warm during our stay in December (summer). Fan available though. Steep slope before reaching unit. A bit tough with heavy luggages.

Great location. Lovely house with good kitchen, big bedrooms and lots of social space. Bathroom was very clean and modern with great water pressure in the shower.

The house was clean, spacious, had everything we needed to stay in and cook. Spa was amazing and location was perfect. So convenient to the town centre and it was just easy. Will definitely book again.

There could have been a few more amenities in the kitchen, no scissors, the pantry was empty, other places we stayed in NZ had the basics. The house was quite cold with only one small heat pump. Needed a light in the spa area as well

Such a beautiful modern design, everything was spotless even free Netflix was provided! The lounge area was spacious, the rooms were super cozy and the kitchen was top class. Having a washing machine and dryer was also a great win in our books :))

Nothing - was perfect!!

The house had a view of the sea which was lovely. The hot tub was fun to use. The two double beds were extremely comfortable. It’s the first property we have stayed in that we have had some drawers in the bedroom to be able to unpack into. Lovely open plan kitchen, diner, informal seating area which was large and very social. Loved the outside seating area too. The shower water pressure was great too.

The mattresses on the two single beds weren’t very good. Then small things like there was a lack of trays/tins/dishes to use in the oven and no jugs at all either. So cooking a roast dinner one night and a lasagna the next night was pretty challenging. The lasagna ended up going in the slow cooker pot and the roast dinner gravy was served in the cafetière 😅😅 Also there were lovely wardrobes but only a few coat hangers?? Coming from the UK we don’t pack coat hangers but this has been a problem in every property we have been to??

The Torquay Retreat is located in a quiet street but the main attractions as the seal colony and the whale watching are very near. The property is beautiful, well-equipped kitchen, the jacuzzi is superb and the bed is so comfortable. Perfect location, perfect place to relax.

access from car park to entrance - a challenge for one of our group with eg injury. some larger coffee cups would be great.

The view was fantastic. Great place to watch the fireworks. Easy to walk to bed and close to everything.

They said on web site and also in their folder on the table, they had a microwave but couldn’t find it. Need a hand rail at the start of path as when walking down two feet from the end it’s steep and for older people is dangerous. A rail to help climb the steps would also be handy or just a small rail and and extra step at the other end of porch so you don’t have many steps to climb.

The hot tub was amazing and everything was very clean and great communication from the hosts.

The cactus inside the home was not child friendly, but we covered it with a chair. Would be more convenient if there was microwave provided for families with small kids.

Beautiful views in a great location. Nicely decorated and you can walk to the beach. Decent amount of eating options nearby. The spa is a welcome addition. Has a separate tv room, would be good if travelling with two younger kids. The host is very proactive.

This property is very new to the market, so has some kinks. Some sort of heating down the other end of the house wouldn't go amiss but that can easily be sorted.
