Brahman Hills - Gardens, Spa, Hotel & Villas - 5star

The gardens are absolutely beautiful even in Winter. Lovely private patio off the bedroom.

Service in the regular dining room was non existent and only improved once we had complained; one side of electric blanket was not working on the coldest day of the year when it snowed. SPA was closed for renovations. We were not aware you could have tours of the lovely gardens.

The views , the spa and the environment was beautiful 🤩

The rooms: no aircon. Cold tiles. Old cupds. Messy garden off room. Burglar guards on one window. Hand soap and toilet spray didn’t work. No one carried our luggage to the room.

Dinner in Restuarant was excellent. Rooms a bit small and needs a chair. Gardens was a nice experience.

Beautiful gardens, accommodation and self catering Ours came with breakfast that was outstanding. Superb staff all round. Immediately sorted our maintenance issues that we encountered eg the jacuzzi and room heater. Always courtesy and quick to assist you.

Breakfast not so good When we were booking we wanted to go to the spa only to find out that it was closed for reservations, I believe that should be the first thing they let u be aware of 😩

Both restaurants were of exceptional standard, we eat out at least 5 x week so I think I am qualified enough to say they both deserve 5 Star rating.

I just felt a little attention to the cupboards and bathroom in need of maintenance.

The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and I genuinely felt a happy vibe within the operation. This was encapsulated by Onwaba who was just so friendly and engaging. The breakfasts each morning was plentiful, and we had a very good selection to choose from. We had a fabulous meal and experience in the Skyfall restaurant; this is an amazing setting. Our room was tastefully furnished, and the bed was very comfortable with quality linen.

Unfortunately, the spa was closed for renovations. This was a bit disappointing as it was our 10th year wedding anniversary, and we wanted to enjoy the complete spa experience. We booked a spa experience somewhere else, but it felt a bit strange to do so. At the time of booking nowhere was it highlighted that the spa would be in fact closed. Brahman Hills on asking did upgrade my room in lieu of this, so that was appreciated. That being said the bathroom whilst functional was very small.

The cellar and restaurant was lovely and staff service was great! Food was also good.

The room was disappointing for the price point. Granny Mouse nearby offers better rooms at a much lower rate so we expected Brahman to have better rooms yet they were too small , shower was filling with water on floor , too many spiders and hair from past guest on showers. Not a 5 star experience!!!! Very disappointed with the rooms. The staff were wonderful though!! They make the place comfortable.

The weather was cold so we enjoyed the fires throughout. Lovely warm and cosy ambience. Our dinner was delicious, as was the inclusive breakfast. A walk in the beautiful gardens is essential!

Ludwig (the manager) was exceptional. We had all manner of problems (unrelated to our stay) and he went out of his way to solve each one of them.

The breakfast was fantastic. A little disappointed with the lamb curry, a lot of bones, not enough meat and the meat didn't fall of the bones like expected.

I didn’t like the noise from the shower - it was very loud. The uncomfortable sounds on the roof only to find out it’s the monkey’s roaming around ( I wasn’t aware there were monkeys) perhaps they should have signage so guests are aware ( unless I missed it)

Fire Sensor was beeping Non stop for 2 nights….i spoke to the receptionist but it was not rectified. Rooms are far from car park. Dinner is too small but pricey

We were disappointed that the Spa was under renovations- that was why we actually booked at Braham Hills (to celebrate our 30yr wedding anniversary with relaxing spa treatments!) We feel management could have mentioned it as I alerted them of our special anniversary ❤️

Everything was wonderful. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful, and the appointment of all the furnishes throughout the proprety are magnificent.

The hotel is advertised as 5- Star. The hotel is definitely not close to being 5 star hotel. The initial room we were given was 2-star and then we were upgraded to a renovated room which was 3- star. I feel totally deceived by the fact that the hotel is marketed as a 5-star establishment.

Pleasant staff and aesthetic common area

For a 5 star establishment that is located in one of the coldest parts of KZN it was very uncomfortable and disappointing to say the least. The rooms are too small, aesthetics are cold and unwelcoming, wodden floors that are not heated, lacks carpets in the bedroom and bathroom area. We had to place towels on the bathroom floor near the sink and toilet as the floor is tiled and extremely cold. The room is not fitted with an air conditioner therefore there is no proper heating, there was only a small heater/fan which blew hot for 10 minutes and cold there after if you do not re set it. I requested for an electric blanket for our room and only one side of the bed was fitted with one, I called the receptionist and was advised that the housekeepers are currently busy in a different part of the hotel and would come when she is done. We waited for over an hour before we were assisted. There is a constant sound coming from the geyser which becomes louder at night as there is hardly any movement which made it difficult for us to fall asleep. Parking was a nightmare as it is not allocated per room, so when you drive out you will find someone else parked in that parking spot and you end up being parked too far from your room. We have been planning this trip for a while with my fiance as we needed to relax and reset but we could not at all, therefore we wouldn't recommend Brahman Hills to any of our closest friends, family and business partners who knew of our trip.This is the first vacation we have been on where we came back exhausted and restless. We started planning our next vacation just 30 minutes after we checked in as we were not pleased at all. My fiance did discuss some of the concerns with Rethabile. I would also suggest adding the R500.00 fee to the total amount payable instead of requsting for it when guests are checking in.

Flies all over the breakfast buffet. No air conditioning, just a little fan heater in the room. Very cramped bathroom, not suitable for a walk-in shower as everything got wet.

We were hugely disappointed with the room. This is below standard size for so called 5 star accommodation. The bed was comfortable, but the furnishings looks cheap. Small little tv up in a corner and no coffee machine. At the rate for the room it is definitely not up to 5 star standard. Bathroom is very small.

Conveniently located to where my event was and I felt extremely safe.

That it does not have any amenities for kids.

The breakfast was delicious and fresh loved it.

The room was below the standard I had expected, the furniture is way too old, the hotel can do with revamping the rooms to add more value to the money it costs.

The gardens were what I enjoyed most about the property as well as the fine dining restaurant. The food was exceptional! The gardens were extraordinary!!!!

I gelt that the room was not as luxurious as expected for the price.
