Reviewed May 16, 2026It was such a beautiful place to stay and truly relax. We even spotted a few animals during our stay, which made the experience even more special. The décor was beautiful, and the space felt so warm and homey like a second home. We also loved how private and peaceful it was. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the serene and peaceful atmosphere, it was the perfect escape from the daily grind. While the online photos are lovely, they truly do not do this place justice. The actual beauty of the surroundings and the thoughtful details of the accommodation are things you have to experience in person to fully appreciate. A huge thank you to Wilma and her husband, who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their hospitality made the experience feel truly special. We left feeling refreshed and are already planning our next visit. We will definitely be back!

The constant power cuts however I understand that it was beyond the host's control.

Reviewed Dec 19, 2025Amazing hidden nest that is perfect for a little private get away!! Love the patio and mini pool where we relaxed and enjoyed the visiting animals. Spectacular!!
Restaurants nearby not great so def take food for a braai or home cooked meal within the well equipped kitchen.

I was very disappointed with the accommodation. The swimming pool was dirty, and most of the furniture was old and worn out. We were informed that we had to purchase our own electricity, which was unexpected. The bed was extremely squeaky, making it difficult to sleep. I was also bitten by a spider in the toilet, which was very concerning. The kitchen utensils were outdated and not in good condition. Additionally, the entire place had a strong, unpleasant odor. Overall, the experience did not meet basic standards of comfort and cleanliness.

Reviewed Mar 3, 2025The hosts were so warm and welcoming! They gave us animal feed, gave tips on how to feed the different animals, and ensured we were happy and comfortable. The property has everything you need and is extremely well laid out. I loved the outdoor shower, braai and pool area. The whole place is light and airy - I really couldn’t fault anything! We had zebra, warthogs, kudu and impala come right up to our stoep!

The owners were incredibly accommodating, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our experience. One of the highlights was the lovely swimming pool, which was a perfect escape from the heat of Marloth Park. We enjoyed a refreshing dip, and the pool area was beautifully maintained. Overall, we highly recommend The Nest for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. It exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

The host were very informative of the surrounding areas and activities that made our experiences even beter. We felt at home and our trip was definitely way too short and planning on visiting again.
