Reviewed Aug 18, 2026The property is exactly as per the photos, beautiful and the animals sure played their part and showed up.
The gas braai and fireplace is a good, and my favourite feature was definitely the outdoor shower and my partner enjoyed her baths in the beautiful tub. The villa is beautifull and spacious with great furniture finishes.
There is an alarm that was beeping throughout the night every 30min or so and its loud and it made it difficult to get a good sleep and there are no instructions on how to mute it. The hosts didn't respond to my messages I only got text from then when it was time to check out.
The check out time is 10 am and guess what at 10am the host was knocking at the door which is unnecessary and feels like you being kicked out. Even hotels will only send reminder few min after check out not at exactly check out time. The neighbour also came across as bit racist.

Reviewed May 14, 2026I really love the view and the peaceful quietness of the place. I also enjoyed seeing animals moving around, which made the experience feel special. I especially like it in the morning. The outdoor shower is amazing, and the place is very clean and well maintained.
I think they need to update the instructional video, especially for the braai area and fireplace. The person explaining does not provide enough detail about which buttons to press or what needs to be switched on, which can be confusing for guests.

Purtroppo è stato difficile raggiungerla a causa della pioggia. I proprietari si sono resi disponibili ad accompagnarci con la loro jeep. Suggerimento: consiglio di aggiungere tende oscuranti alle finestre (che una persona può decidere se tenere su o giù) per una maggior privacy e senso di sicurezza.

The bedding (Sheets and Duvet cover) something was off with them. I don't know if they were not ironed or whatever the case maybe. They looked like they were used before and not prepared afresh for the new guests.

Reviewed Dec 25, 2025The bed was very comfortable and allowed for a good night’s sleep. There was convenient parking available on the property, which made arriving and leaving easy. The outdoor area was spacious, with a barbecue area and a pool, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy the stay.
Upon arrival, the accommodation did not seem properly prepared. The gas bottles were empty and had to be changed by us, and the electricity was not working, so we had to turn the power back on ourselves. Unfortunately, no one came to assist us, which we found unacceptable given the price range of the property. There were many insects in the area, and the house appeared unfinished, almost as if it was still under construction. The access road to the property is extremely rough and not suitable for a regular car — our rental car scraped multiple times while reaching the accommodation. The pool was very dirty and had to be cleaned by us by manually turning it on. The barbecue did not function properly and required constant adjustments with gas and fire, which felt unsafe. Additionally, the Wi-Fi did not work at all during our stay, and the issue could not be resolved.

Reviewed Nov 19, 2025Incheck via code kluisje die ik via mail heb ontvangen. Wat een mooi huis langs de rivier. Dieren in de bush voor het huis. Heerlijk groot bed, buiten douche en een schuifpui over de hele gevel van het huis dat nog meer het buiten gevoel geeft.
Niets, alles was goed. Communicatie met eigenaar via what'sapp over melden dat iets kapot was, werd direct beantwoord.
Ik ben eerder in Marloth Park geweest maar deze accommodatie was voor mij echt de beste tot nu toe

The absolute highlight was the wildlife coming right up to the window, which created a truly magical and unforgettable experience. Ungava Retreat is a hidden gem that we couldn't recommend more highly!

Had a small hicupp trying to find a lighter for the gas fire pit outside, still ended up being very enjoyable.

We didnt have hot water the first night, but when we called the next morning they were quick to send someone to fix it.
We loved our quick break away and the game drive arranges was truly amazing !

Reviewed Apr 22, 2025Everything! The apartment was spacious, clean and tidy. It was easy to locate. The surroundings were breathtakingly beautiful and we felt safe even with all the animals roaming around freely. We had clear communication with the hosts.
There are shops close by as well as a gas station. A restaurant around the corner if you don't feel like cooking. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and felt it was too short, so we will definitely be going back.

What a beautiful and cozy villa, great value for money. Loved the interior deco and the outdoor shower was my highlight
The host can improve on the check-in info. If they can't be at the property to show us around... They should at least send all the info that we might require as guests, to avoid unnecessary back and forth. We took ice cold shower on our check out, reported the issue to the host and there was no response. My pillows also had a funny smell.
Oh wow, what a perfect place to unwind and create that strong bond with your partner.
Having extra sheets just in case nature visit women when they least expect it.

We couldn’t get hold of the staff when we need assistance with some of facilities.
